The Never Ending Rain
Chapter Three
"Percy, see what I see,"
Poseidon raised his head, blinking his eyes as he looked at his trident that was in a bubble giving off a blue glow.
But a hand waving in front of his face interrupted his view. Following the hand, his eyes laid upon a blond hair man with sea-blue eyes.
"Sis, your boy toy is awake," the blond-haired man said.
A woman with long golden blond hair walked over and stood by her brother's side.
"He is oh, how nice."
"Who are you?" Poseidon asked.
"You have forgotten us too, well it's to be expected since you haven't laid eyes on us for a long time." The blonde-haired woman said.
"Let me go," Poseidon ordered.
"You're in no position to bark out orders."
"When I get free, you will be in a lot of trouble," Poseidon said.
"Ooh a threat. Lucky for us, that will never happen," the blond-haired man said before laughing.
"Enough!," the woman shouted.
The woman was about to take a step toward Poseidon when the trident glow grew brighter. The water bubble that held it was steadily evaporating. When the man tried to put it back up, the tridents light knocked him back. The blond woman tried to move toward it, but even her power couldn't contain the trident as it knocked her back to her crystal ball.
"Where is this power coming from?" The woman asked.
Poseidon could feel the tridents' power feeding off of him along with another. That's when he reached out with his mind once more.
"Percy… stop your using too much power,"
"I don't know how,"
Poseidon looked up to see the woman staring at him. His eyes glowed, and so did hers. Yet the woman's eyes were glowing brighter while Poseidon's glow grew less. No matter how hard he tried, he could feel his influence weakening. He even noticed how he could barely keep his eyes open.
"So strong, I can't fight it." Poseidon mumbled as he slowly closed his eyes.
"Father, please wake up," Percy pleaded.
"I'm sorry, Percy, be strong," Poseidon said as darkness claimed him.
Percy gasped as he sat up. Placing a hand on his chest, he blinked and looked around. He was no longer outside on the pier but on a gray couch with a white lamp on the end table beside it. Glancing around, he noticed the beige carpet and two chairs with a circular wooden table with seashells embedded in the finish. Turning to his right, he noticed Mave walking toward him with a glass of water in one hand and a pill in the other. Looking for Nautica, he found her sleep in a recliner snoring away but Yolanda was nowhere in sight.
Percy smiled as Mave sat down beside him, setting the water on the table. It was just like before Mave's smile made him shiver and his stomach turn. There was something about her that made his skin crawl. But Percy kept smiling, for he didn't want to be rude.
"I'm glad you're awake. Please take this," Mave said, placing a brown pill in Percy's hand.
"What is it?" Percy asked.
"An herb to help you get back on your feet," Mave replied.
Percy stared at the pill. His gut was telling him not to take it. But with Mave's constant stare and closeness, it made him feel like he had no choice. Just as he was about to pop the pill into his mouth, Yolanda walked into the room.
"Mave, could you check the gate for me?" Yolanda asked.
"Of course," Mave said, standing up.
Yolanda stood by the couch as Mave headed to the door. Opening the door, Mave stopped and looked back at Percy, who smiled, holding the glass of water up to his lips. Mave nodded as she walked outside, closing the door behind her.
Setting the glass back down on the table, Percy placed the brown pill beside the glass. Sighing and shaking his head his head, he looked to Yolanda, who eyes stared at the pill.
"How does Mave make you feel?" Yolanda asked, still staring at the pill.
"Uncomfortable," Percy replied.
Yolanda's eyes narrowed as she continued looking at the pill.
"What about Nautica?"
"Prideful, but okay, she feels normal to me while Mave is just trying too hard."
Smiling, Yolanda stared at the sleeping Nautica. Her eyes flickers as her cerulean aura lined around her body even as she slept. She then looked to the door, where remnants of Mave's aura lined the floor. It was supposed to be the same as Nautica's, but it was black.
"Something is wrong, isn't it?" Percy asked.
Yolanda remained silent as she dropped the pill into the glass of water before looking back at Percy.
"Now, what did you see while you were asleep?" Yolanda asked, changing the subject.
"I found my father. I saw thought his eyes. He's in a cave and there was a man and woman. They both had blond hair and blue eyes." Percy paused as he shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.
Noticing Percy's aura dimming, Yolanda helped him lie back down on the couch.
"I don't know why, but I feel so dizzy. I want to tell you more about what I saw," Percy said, fighting a yawn.
"What you did took a lot of energy, rest we can talk later," Yolanda said calmly.
Percy nodded. Glancing over at the glass of water, his eyes widen at what he found. Noticing a change in Percy, it prompted Yolanda to look. The pill she dropped in the water dissolved it now held a black muddy color. Sighing, Yolanda looked back at Percy, whose eyes were barely open.
"Rest. It looks like I have something to do." Yolanda said calmly.
Without saying another word, Percy closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep. Walking over to the door, Yolanda took hold of her staff. By this time, Nautica was awake. Just as she was about to open the door, she looked back at the confused woman.
"Where are you going and where's Mave?" Nautica asked.
Yolanda took a deep breath. "She went out to tend to the gate and from the evidence on the table, it looks like I need to have a heart to heart with her."
Looking at the table, she noticed the black water in the glass. Picking it up, she took a whiff before walking over and pour the contents out into the sink. Looking back at the door, Yolanda was gone. She couldn't believe Mave would do something like this. She wanted to go out there and confront her, but with Yolanda already out there, she needed to monitor the boy.
Sighing, Nautica walked over to the window beside the door. Looking outside out, all she could see was nothing but rain. She even spotted flashes of lightning now and then. She couldn't see neither Yolanda nor Mave. While she had never seen Yolanda fight but Poseidon would always tell them she could handle herself. She was worried, for if it wasn't Mave she was fighting, she wasn't sure what else it could be.
"Be careful Yolanda, "
