I want to devote this poem to my library which is giving out rubber frogs for the summer reading program and inspired such a random thought.

Nobody ever thought of what it was like for the frog;

The one who used to be human;

The one who everybody forgot about;

The one who grew up, expecting to marry a princess;

The one who teased his future wife;

The one who thought he could do anything;

The one who the world was waiting for.

Nobody ever thought of what it was like for the prince;

The one forced to live as a frog;

The one that nobody knew about;

The one who grew up, watching a princess

Grow into his future wife

Who didn't know anything

About how he was the one she was waiting for.

Nobody ever thought of what it was like for the princess;

The one who was still a child;

The one who everyone knew about;

The one who grew up, wanting to marry the prince,

That used to tease his future wife;

The prince that could do anything;

The one who she was waiting for.

Nobody ever thought of what it was like for the queen;

The one who used to be a child;

The one it was impossible to forget about;

The one who grew up after losing her prince;

Afraid she'd never be a wife

To a prince who could do everything,

The one worth waiting for.
