OPENING #1
Song: This Will Be the Day
Artist: Jeff Williams
Singer: Casey Lee Jones
A skinny Steve Rogers was kneeling on the streets of Brooklyn from the 40's, as he was surrounded by bullies.
They see you as small and helpless
The bullies then disappeared, as he saw a shadowed silhouette of his muscular self in front of him.
They see you as just a child
The skinny Steve Rogers then stood up, as his surroundings transitioned to the modern Brooklyn. He then transitioned himself from skinny to the present Steve Rogers, before he ran towards an enemy while wielding his vibranium shield.
Surprised when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild
THE AVENGERS:
ASSEMBLE ON REMNANT
Prepare for your greatest moments
A young Natasha Romanoff was surrounded by numerous shadowed Black Widows, as she stared at Dreykov who was standing in front of the Widows.
Prepare for your finest hour
Sam Wilson stared back at his partner's grave before flying away.
Clint Barton wore his purple shades and calmly sighed, before firing an arrow at his target's head from a tall building.
The dream that you've always dreamed is suddenly about to flower
A horde of Grimm and Ultron Sentries were shown, as Ultron fired a laser blast before transitioning to Roman Torchwick, Crossbones, and Aldrich Killian were then shown while their goons were behind them.
We are lightning
Cinder was then shown in front while Mercury, Emerald, Mysterio, and Taskmaster were behind her.
Straying from the thunder
The Avengers – Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon, and Hawkeye – and Team RWBY were surrounded by a horde of Grimm, Ultron Sentries, and EXTREMIS Soldiers.
Miracles of ancient wonder
The two teams then dodged from Ultron's deadly laser beam, before rushing towards him and the horde.
This will be the day we've waited for
Jaune was staring at the statues of the original six Avengers.
This will be the day we open up the door
Pyrrha then placed her hand at Jaune's shoulder, as Team JNPR and other heroes – Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Harley Keener, Loki, Kate Bishop / Hawkeye, and Scott Lang / Ant-Man – were all shown. All of them had an Avenger logo implanted on their combat gears.
I don't wanna hear your absolution
Hope you're ready for a revolution
Ozpin, Glynda, Wong, and Black Panther were in the balcony of an airship.
Welcome to a world of new solutions
Welcome to a world of bloody evolution
Steve, Natasha, Sam, and Clint were then shown with their hero symbols along with Team RWBY's.
In time, your heart will open minds
A story will be told
All of the main and side heroes from both franchises were then shown, before ending with Ruby spinning her scythe and Steve throwing his shield.
And victory is in a simple soul
CHAPTER 2:
REMNANT's GREATEST MARKSMAN
Crystal Town
It has been three days since the three heroes have arrived on the new world called "Remnant". They have been treated celebrities by the townsfolk ever since they saved them from the Grimm Attack. It was kinda a nice change of perspective since they were mostly feared by the people.
Currently, Natasha and Sam were in the library to explore more of the unknown world they landed themselves in, while Steve went to get some information. They already knew that they were in another world due to the fact the locals have animal features and the world continent was different. The two were still bewildered by the fact that they're in another world. They were even more surprised when this world's moon was shattered into pieces, yet it's still in orbit.
Natasha was reading about the continents and its kingdoms. She was kinda interested in visiting each of them, as she needs to learn everything in case the mission will be deployed there while also eager to visit its wonderful relaxing spots.
'My sister would love to visit them.' Natasha mentally said. 'She still has yet to experience the world. I hope she's doing fine, along with Alexie and Mama Melina.'
Meanwhile, Sam was reading about the creatures of Remnant, the Grimm. He was fascinated by these nasty creatures, as they quite have a history in this world. Apparently, there was a theory that has existed since the beginning of time, but nobody knows their real origins. Grimm, the creatures of darkness, are attracted to negative emotions such as fear or anger, hence their name.
"Grimm. They are grimly all right." Sam said, before reading the next chapter which was all the different types of Grimm. "Woah, this is too good to be a coincidence."
"What is it?" Natasha asked, as she moved closer to read the book.
"The different types of Grimm share some elements with our world's existing and mythical creatures." Sam said.
The flying hero wasn't lying. The Grimm coincidentally have similar names with their world's creatures. The names of the creatures are:
Beowolves, the werewolf creatures they faced first in this world, are from the poem Beowulf, which is about a great hero who slays many monsters.
Griffons, a mixture of both an eagle and a lion (or tiger), are legendary creatures in Greek and Roman Mythology.
Nevermores, the giant bird that Natasha killed three nights ago, are from Edgar Allen Poe's poem, "The Raven".
Majors and Ursa Majors, the bear creatures that they have yet to face, resembled the star constellations of Earth.
While other types such as the Beringels, Boarbatusks, Cenitaurs, Goliaths, Lancers, Sabyrs, and Teryxs resembled the existing and extinct animals. There are still Grimm types that resembled mythical creatures such as the Manticores, Sphinxes, and Wyverns but they're going to read their section later.
"Huh. They indeed share some elements from our world." Natasha said. "I wonder if Earth's influence managed to reach this world."
"If Remnant is an alternate version of Earth, which is unlikely, that may be possible." Sam said, before massaging his forehead and sighing. "I still can't believe that we're in another world. Are we sure that we're not in a fever dream?"
"If we were, we wouldn't have the same fever dream for the past three days." Natasha answered, before reading the book about two species of Remnant – Humans and Faunus.
Faunus. They're exactly like humans, except that they have features and traits of an animal. Natasha was shocked and disgusted upon learning that they faced discrimination, ever since and before the Great War. The White Fang were just a bunch of peaceful protesters for faunus rights, but they turned into a cold blooded organization years later.
Natasha sighed, "I guess they decided to choose violence, as their voices are unable to reach them. What is wrong with humans? They always do something wicked like Dreykov. They always plan something stupid and have time to insult another race or their genders."
"You're not the only one with the issue." Sam said. "My grandfather faced discrimination during the second World War because of his black skin, which is the same as me during highschool. At least most of our humans in our world have a changed mindset in the present time, but it seems that faunus discrimination is still ongoing for over 100 years in this world."
"I hope that in the near future, the faunus will finally have equal rights." Natasha said.
"It's really nice that you support my kind, Ms. Romanoff." A rabbit girl entered. "The only ones who truly treat my kind equally is this village, so it's nice that most outsiders also treat us equally."
Natasha smiled, "There's no need for thanks, Miss-?"
"Oh, my name is Dorothy. Dorothy Garland." Dorothy introduced herself.
'Dorothy Garland? Okay, that can't be a coincidence.' Natasha mentally said.
'A mixture of the Wizard of Oz character and the actress who played that character. Yeah, that's beyond coincidence now.' Sam mentally said.
"So Dorothy, what brings you to the library?" Natasha asked.
"Oh, I work here." Dorothy answered. "I also own this library. My best friend gave it to me before he left town two years ago."
"I didn't know that." Sam said. "Hey, I have a question."
"I'm listening." Dorothy said, as she sat down with them.
"What is your Semblance?" Sam asked.
"Oh, you've heard about Semblances already. A few days ago, you had no idea what they were." Dorothy said, before chuckling.
"We were… kinda raised from the outside world without any knowledge about 'Auras' or 'Semblances'." Natasha said.
"That's understandable. There are many people who think that having 'superpowers' is just absurd and unrealistic." Dorothy said. "As for your question Mr. Wilson, my Semblance is called 'Aura Detection'. I can basically detect someone's Aura and Semblance."
"Let me guess, we don't have one." Sam said.
Dorothy shakes her head, "Although you lack Aura and Semblance, the three of you were still formidable warriors. Huntsmen nowadays mostly relied on their Semblance, compared to our ancestors who mostly used skills."
"Wow. I don't think relying on your Semblance all the time would help you defeat one enemy easily, especially if your powers lacked training." Natasha said.
"I wholeheartedly agree with you, Ms. Romanoff." Dorothy agreed.
"Please call me Natasha, or Nat. I'm not really good with formalities." Natasha said.
"Same with me." Sam said.
"But isn't that disrespectful?" Dorothy questioned.
"In our case, it is not. Please call us by our given names or nicknames." Sam answered.
Dorothy smiled, "Then Nat and Sam, it is."
"Hey, Dorothy. Do you have any idea where Cap is?" Sam asked.
"Mmm… I think so. I heard that he went inside the forest to investigate something." Dorothy answered, as she realized the time. "I should go now. I have a job to do."
"See ya' later and thanks for the information." Natasha said, before Dorothy went somewhere else.
"I guess Cap is probably investigating the area again." Sam said.
"There's nothing over that area, as I have thoroughly investigated everyday. But I guess Steve is making sure that we won't miss something." Natasha said.
"Yeah. While I would love to explore this world, our world is still in danger from Zola." Sam said. "Aside from bringing back HYDRA, he may plan something worse."
"You're right. If we manage to make it back home, we can just request Princess Shuri to make our own transportation machine, so that we can visit this world whenever we want." Natasha said.
"Yeah, it's a win-win solution." Sam said, before the two of them continue to research about Remnant.
Unnamed Forest
Steve continues to investigate the area, even though he knows that it's a dead end. There has been so much going on for the past three days, most notably the constant Grimm attacks. The village chief, Lao Pe, said that they've never been invaded by Grimm for the past 5 years until now. He wondered if there was something that triggered their invasion, but for now, he needs to focus on finding a way back home.
Steve sighed, "Alright. I know that I haven't found anything yet, but this is the ninth charm."
As Steve strolls around the forest, he finds a beautiful pond filled with a family of ducks. He was saddened upon seeing them, as they reminded him of his family – The Avengers. When they'll find a way back home, he hopes that he'll reconcile his friendship with Tony in order to stop Zola from unleashing his plans.
Steve then sat down and unsheathed his shield. He closely stares at his old friend, who has been with him for 70 years in ice. It's the shield that represents humanity's hope, yet it was the same shield that he bashed his other best friend with. He doesn't deserve to wield it again, but he has no choice as it's effective against the Grimm. Once he returns to their world, he'll give the shield back to Tony.
Steve then quickly hid behind the trees once he heard footsteps nearby. He doesn't know why he's hiding since it was an instinctive move, but he'll remain hidden for now.
"Hey, have you heard of multiple White Fang members being pinned down by multiple arrows?" A female human asked, which peaked Steve's interest.
"Yeah, I heard that through the news last night." A female faunus answered. "I'm surprised that the White Fang members were still alive after being stabbed by an arrow."
"I think an officer said that the arrows were non lethal. I think he also mentioned that the arrows were different kinds of arrows, as most of the members said they were electrocuted by it."
"That's amazing. And the mysterious archer managed to take down all of them easily."
'It seems that you've been busy once you arrived here, Barton.' Steve mentally said, before stepping out from hiding spot. "Ladies, sorry to interrupt your conversation."
The two ladies immediately blushed at the sight of Captain Rogers.
"C-Captain R-R-Rogers! I-It's a-a-a surprise seeing y-you he-here…" The female human greeted with a stutter.
"S-S-Sorry w-we didn't see y-you…" The female faunus greeted with a stutter as well.
"Please calm down, ladies." Steve said, as the two women breathe in and out before calming down. "Good. Will you please tell me which town the archer defeated the White Fang?"
"Oh, it's in Vale City." The female faunus answered, as Steve nodded before walking away to tell his friends about the information. "Why? Is that archer dangerous, Captain Rogers?"
Steve stopped and turned his head around with a smile, "No. He's more of a friend."
When Steve returned to Crystal Town, he informed Natasha and Sam about Clint Barton's whereabouts which made Nat sighed in relief as she thought that her best friend was in danger.
"So we're heading to the City of Vale next?" Sam questioned, as Steve nodded. "Alright. When are we leaving this town?"
"Tomorrow morning." Steve answered. "I still need to investigate that area one more time before we go."
"Same with us. We still need to learn more about this world to gain more information." Natasha said.
"It looks like I'm still on book duty." Sam said, before sighing. "I wish tic tac or that spider kid is here. I'm sure that they won't ever get tired from reading these books."
"What do you mean? Books are entertaining to read. My favorite is The Hobbit." Steve said.
"I don't why your statement gave me a déjà vu." Sam said. [1]
Meanwhile, Dorothy was secretly hiding behind a bookshelf while listening to the Avengers' conversation. She was fascinated by their conversation, even though she didn't understand most of it because she wasn't familiar with them. She then pulled out her scroll and sent a message to Ozpin about their next move. After sending the message, she resumes placing new books at the bookshelves.
Three Days Ago
In an open ocean, a blue beam slammed itself on the ocean. Once it dispersed, an unconscious person was drifting in the ocean. A passing ship stopped upon seeing the man on the ocean.
"Captain! There's someone on the water!" The First Mate yelled.
The Captain then walked towards the balcony and saw the unconscious man, "Let's rescue him, lads." [2]
A few minutes later, the crew members managed to rescue Clint from potential drowning. When they took him to the recovery room, the passengers briefly stared at him in curiosity before resuming whatever they were doing.
"Who in the world is he?" The Captain asked.
"I don't know, sir." The First Mate answered. "But he might've been connected to that blue beam earlier."
"Perhaps." The Captain said, before staring at the bow and case of arrows. "Judging by his weaponry and muscles, he might be either a Huntsman or a bandit."
The First Mate widened her eyes, "If he's a bandit, what are we going to do, sir?"
"Then we deliver him to the law enforcement of course." The Captain answered. "But let's not get ahead of ourselves, we still don't know this man. For all we know, he might've been a Huntsman who was pushed off by an enemy."
"You're right, so we're just going to wait for him to wake up?" The First Mate questioned, as the Captain nodded.
Suddenly, the ship bumped into something. The Captain and First Mate instantly went back up to check on the situation. When they arrived on the top deck, several bandits were aiming their weapons at the passengers while most of the crew members were either unconscious or killed.
"What-?" The First Mate said in shock, before she was knocked unconscious by a bandit.
"Skye!" The Captain worriedly called out, before being knocked by another bandit. [3]
A few minutes later, the two of them woke up after a bandit kicked them in the head. The Captain worriedly looked around to see if the passengers and crew members were safe. He let out a sigh when they're all right.
"Are you okay, first mate?" The Captain asked.
"Aye, aye, captain." The First Mate answered, while groaning.
When the bandit leader stepped forward, his men ordered the hostages to stand up.
The bandit leader coughed before speaking, "Greetings, passengers. As you all know, we're bandits and not just ordinary bandits. We're the Bell Tribe."
The passengers who knew the Bell Tribe gasped in shock, as they were one of the feared bandit tribes across Remnant which rivals the Branwen Tribe.
"You may all know me. I'm Micah Bell, famously known as 'The Rat'." Micah introduced himself, which caused some snickers from the hostages. "You think my nickname is funny, ain't you? Do you know why I'm called that? Do you want me to show you?" [4]
The hostages were shivering in fear upon hearing his threat. Micah pulled out two makeshift revolvers and fired multiple bullets on the ground, which made the hostages flinch. The sweat in their faces was obvious that they were afraid.
"It's really fun to see people cowering in fear once I do this." Micah said, before wickedly laughing. "Now, you have two options. Surrender your valuable possessions and maybe I'll set you all free, or continue to resist and it's a bullet in your head. What's ya' decision?"
The hostages were unable to answer as they were still shivering in fear, while the crew members angrily glared at the bandit leader. Micah glared at them with a wicked smile.
"Y'know what? I'll come back with you all." Micah said, as he walked towards the crew members and the captain. "What about you all? Will you surrender your possessions?"
"Piss off, bandit!" A crewman cursed at him which infuriated Micah.
"You've got guts." Micah said, as he pointed his revolver at his face. "It's too bad that you showed that to me."
"STOP!" The Captain ordered, as all the bandits stared at him. "We'll comply. We'll give everything!"
Micah scoffed, "Are you sure? Even if it means… taking this girl with me?"
"Wha?" The First Mate asked in fear.
"That's not part of the deal, bastard!" A second crewman yelled, as Micah shot the ground to silence him.
Micah smirked, "It is now."
"N-No…" The First Mate squeaked.
As Micah was going to touch her face, there was a noise from below. Micah and the bandits suspiciously looked down on the floor, as he could hear some footsteps.
"There is still someone on this ship." Micah said, before glaring at the Captain. "Who is it?"
"There's nobody! It's just… a cat!" The Captain answered.
"A cat? A cat doesn't make a loud noise unless they're a faunus!" Micah yelled, before staring at one of his men. "You there! Check out the below deck. Kill the person if they resist."
"Yes, sir!" A bandit complied, as he slowly walked towards the door.
Once he reaches the door, he slowly and carefully opens it and immediately raises his weapon. When Micah was about to continue his actions, a minor explosion occurred. The bandits immediately raised their weapons while Micah pointed his revolvers at the door.
"Oi! What's taking you so long!?" Micah asked the bandit.
A few seconds later, the bandit went flying from the door. When one of the bandits rushed towards the grounded bandit, he saw an arrow attached to his companion's chest, but he remained unconscious. The bandit pulled out the arrow and showed it to his boss by raising it.
Micah growled, "Who is there!? I ain't afraid of you!"
Suddenly, an arrow was fired from the lower deck. When Micah shoots the arrow, it releases a fog. He realized that the arrow was a smoke screen, as he carefully observed his surroundings.
"Come out, whoever you are!" Micah yelled.
While he was walking in circles, he heard the screams of his men and the sound of electricity nearby. Micah was slightly panicked from the sudden ambush as he attempted to escape to his ship. When he was about to jump off from the port side, an arrow landed beside him. The arrow released a minor shockwave, which sent him flying into the bow where the hostages used to be.
When the fog dispersed, Micah saw his unconscious men laying down on the ground with an arrow attached to their body, before staring at the man who ambushed them. The man was pointing his bow at Micah.
"Who are you, punk!?" Micah angrily asked, as he pointed his revolvers at the archer.
"The name's Clint Barton, you may call me Hawkeye. It's time to end your little 'masquerade' right now, Michelle." Hawkeye said.
"It's Micah!" Micah corrected, before laughing. "What are you going to do? You have a pathetic bow and arrows. They're useless compared to my darlings. The only reason you defeated my men was because they were caught off guard, but now that you reveal yourself, you're dead!"
"You talk too much." Hawkeye said, as he instantly fired an arrow at him.
The arrow successfully hits Micah before he could react, but it didn't immediately knock him out as there was some kind of a brown shield protecting his body.
'So he also has the shield thing like his goons.' Hawkeye mentally said, as he prepares to release another arrow. "The second and third shot should knock you out!"
'The hell! How the hell can his arrows destroy some pieces of my Aura!?' Micah mentally yelled, before aggressively shooting at Hawkeye. "Die! Die! Die!"
Hawkeye dodged the bullets by rolling out of the way. He immediately rolled towards the cover to hide from all the bullets. He calmly chooses an arrow while waiting for the bandit leader to run out of ammunition.
"You coward! Die!" Micah yelled, as he continued to shoot at the archer until the bullets ran out. "Huh!?"
Hawkeye instantly stood up from his cover and released two arrows at Micah's hands, which made him forcibly release his weapons, as they then fell into the ocean along with the two arrows.
"No! My darlings!" Micah yelled, as Hawkeye released another arrow near him.
"Do you give up?" Hawkeye asked.
The passengers and crew members were amazed by the archer's skills. They couldn't see anything during the fog, but when it dispersed, they were incapacitated by his marksmanship and combat prowess.
Micah growled, as he grabbed the arrow near him before grabbing a hostage, which made everyone panicked again. The hostage, who was the First Mate, was shivering in fear as she was afraid of dying.
"Put down your bow, pretty boy!" Micah yelled, as he slowly pierced the First Mate's neck with the arrow. "If you don't want this pretty lady to be killed, then PUT THE BOW DOWN!!!"
Hawkeye sighed and raised his hands, "Okay, okay. I'll comply"
Micah scoffed, "That was easy. Now get down on the floor and toss away your weapon."
When Hawkeye kneeled on the floor, he secretly pressed a button on his bow before tossing it away. A few seconds later, the arrow released 1.3 million volts of electricity which essentially shattered Micah's aura and paralyzed his entire body.
Micah groaned, "W-What!?"
Hawkeye stood up and grabbed his bow before walking towards Micah. After seeing the archer's face, he develops hatred for him. He wished him to die and suffer in the depths of hell!
"You know what happens to criminals all the time, mister?" Hawkeye said, as he released an arrow at the other bandit, who was secretly hiding behind a pillar, which immobilized him temporarily. "They'll face justice sooner or later."
"Screw you!" Micah cursed, before Hawkeye delivered a punch to his face.
A few minutes later, the crew members tied the bandits up with tight ropes while the ship nurse was tending passengers, as some were injured or traumatized from the unexpected and terrifying event. The Captain checked on the First Mate, who is currently unconscious due to the shock she received, before meeting with the hero who saved everyone.
"Mr. Barton." The Captain called out. "I want to thank you for saving everyone."
"I'm just doing my job, sir. I couldn't let those punks have it their way." Clint said, before staring at the unconscious bandits. "Who were they anyway?"
The Captain stared at him with a surprised expression, "You never heard of the Bell Tribe? They're one of the most ruthless and feared bandit gangs in Remnant, or once ruthless and feared since you've defeated them like butter."
"They didn't seem much of a threat to me." Clint said, before realizing what the captain said. "Hold on. Did you say 'Remnant'?"
"Yeah. Why?" The Captain said, as Clint had a confused expression. "Remnant. It's the world we live in. Did you have amnesia or something, mister?"
"Sorry, sir. I was… living a peaceful life on a farm with my family so… yeah." Clint made a horrible excuse, though it's partially true. 'Remnant? What's going on here? Everyone seems to know about the 'Bell Tribe', yet I never knew or heard about them. I don't even think S.H.I.E.L.D., or technically HYDRA, knew about them. They would've eliminated the threat otherwise.'
"That's kinda odd that a person wouldn't know what the world we're currently living is called." The Captain said, while Clint was still processing the information. "You said you have a family. Where are they now?"
"I'm not sure…" Clint answered. "I was having lunch with my family, but then something crashed onto me. The next thing I know, I woke up on the ship's lower deck and heard a bunch of yelling from those bandits."
"Mmm… it seems that the blue beam is indeed connected to you." The Captain said. "It seems that you have been teleported, son, though I have no clue on how."
"That seems likely." Clint said. "Say, where does this ship land?"
"Mmm? We're traveling to the City of Vale, the capital city of Vale Kingdom, one of the four kingdoms of Remnant. You have heard of them, right?" The Captain questioned.
"Can't say I have, sir." Clint said, as he processed another piece of information until he realized his current situation. 'So that's how it is. Cooper used to watch an anime genre where the main characters travel to another world. The term is called 'isekai' in Japan. This is unbelievable… I'm in another world…!'
"Hey, captain. I have a favor to ask you." Clint said.
"Anything. You've saved us from those bandits, so we owe you a debt of gratitude." The Captain said.
"Thanks." Clint said. "Uhm… do you have any money? I don't have any cash with me."
"You mean Lien? Yes, we shall give you some. I shall depart now, Mr. Barton. I need to keep the ship running." The Captain said, before walking towards the captain's deck. "Thank you for your help once again, Mr. Barton."
"Like I said, captain, I'm just doing my job." Clint said, as he stared at the open seas. 'What have I got myself into? Five minutes after I retired, everything went to sh*t. And now, instead of serving my sentence for helping Cap, I'm in another world.' He released a sigh, as he then worriedly thought about his family. 'I hope they're alright.'
Branwen Tribe
The Branwen Tribe is a group of murderous and thieving bandits that operate in Anima, led by their current leader, Raven Branwen. They were rivals with the Bell Tribe ever since Raven was appointed as the new leader.
"Ma'am, I have some news." A female bandit said, while wickedly smiling. "And it's a good one."
"Tell me." Raven said.
"The leader of the Bell Tribe and his men are captured by The Ship's crew members and captain." The female bandit answered, which surprised everyone. "They're currently being taken to V.P.D."
Raven smirked, "The pride of those idiots finally led to their downfall. It's too bad that it didn't happen sooner. We wouldn't have struggled to raid villages and towns if it weren't for them."
"But how were they defeated so easily?" Vernal, her right-hand bandit, asked. "They may be prideful pricks, but they weren't really inexperienced when it involved combat. If they were incompetent, we would've treated them as pest in the past."
"That's what I want to know as well. If I recall, crew members were only trained to fight Grimm with their ship. Most of them aren't experienced in combat." Raven said. "They probably had help from a Huntsman, but even a professional Huntsman would've had a hard time fighting them. They must be something else."
"Would you like to gather some information, ma'am?" Vernal asked.
"There's no need. At least there's only one bandit tribe that everyone will fear now." Raven said, as she stood up. "The Bell Tribe is currently weak without their beloved leader. Why don't we pay them a visit, shall we?"
"As you wish, ma'am." Vernal said, before standing tall in front of the bandits. "Listen up! We'll be pillaging the Bell Tribe this evening! Show them no mercy!"
"YAAAH!!!" The bandits cheered, as Raven wore her mask before signaling her tribe to move forward.
City of Vale
After three hours, the Ship finally arrived at Vale City Port. The passengers, who were recovered from the minor injuries and trauma, gratefully thanked Hawkeye before leaving the Ship. Once all the passengers had left, the crew members carried the captured bandits.
"We're going to deliver these idiots to the V.P.D. What will you do, Hawkeye?" A crewman asked.
"I'm not sure. I guess I'll explore this city until I find a way back home." Clint answered. "What will you guys be doing after delivering those punks?"
"We'll wait until there are new passengers." The second crewmen answered.
Clint nodded before he walked until he stopped to ask one more question, "Before I go, how's Ms. Skye?"
The Captain smiled, "She'll be fine. It's too bad that she's not going to meet her hero anytime soon. I'll make sure I give your regards to her."
Clint nodded again before continuing to walk towards the city, "See ya' later, sir."
The Captain waves at Clint, "See ya' later, Hawkeye. What a weird nickname."
As the archer strolled around the city, he found something odd. Most of the humans in the city had animal features, then there's a shop that sells an expensive material called "Dust", and there are some people who were carrying makeshift and absurd weapons. He was fully convinced that he's in another world.
Clint sat down on a bench and massaged his forehead, "This is seriously tripping me. I need to find a way back home."
After calming his mind, he continues to explore the city once more. He then went to the library to learn more about the world he is in. When reading the books, he felt as if he's reading a fantasy novel. Aside from the Faunus and monstrous Grimm, he was curious about the material called Dust.
Dust, it serves as a power source for the majority of technology in Remnant, such as airships and androids.
"Huh, so they have robots in this world. I sure hope they aren't like Ultron." Clint said, before continuing to read.
As he continues to read more information about Dust, he definitely thinks that he should buy one, even though his arrows aren't ordinary arrows already. He wondered if there are Arrow Dust, since there are only three types of Dust – Crystal, Powder, and Bullet.
"I don't know where I should get Arrow Dusts, but I can still imbue them with other weapons." Clint said. "I just need either a sword or a gun."
Clint then exited the library once he placed the book back in the bookshelf. Before he went to the Weapons Shop, he rented an apartment and bought some snacks for later. The reason he only bought cheap snacks was because he wasn't a good cook, unlike his wife, and he didn't want to spend his "Lien" much because of the materials he needed to buy, even though the Captain gave him 100,000 Lien.
When he entered the workshop, he was baffled by the weapons' appearance and mechanics. In all his years working as S.H.I.E.L.D. assassin and as an Avenger, this was the first time he ever saw weird-looking weapons. The existence of gods and sentient A.I. weren't surprising anymore since it became the norm, but weapons that straight-up look like they came from a fantasy story, it was definitely weird. He shook his head before looking for a weapon.
A few minutes later, he couldn't find any weapon that suits him. The descriptions of the swords and firearms were a bit too much for him. When he was about to ask the owner for a good recommendation, he saw a sign where he could create his own weapon in the back room with plenty of materials by paying 40,000 Lien.
"Good afternoon, sir. May I use your materials to create my own weapon?" Clint asked.
"Sure. Just pay up in f-" The owner was cut off when Clint handed him exactly 40,000 Lien. "You may enter. Just don't destroy anything."
"Thank you, sir." Clint said, before entering the back room.
When Clint entered, he saw several blueprints and unmade weapons scattered around the room. There is an instruction manual on how he could build a weapon combination, such as a gunblade or a shotgun gauntlet. Clint may have created his own bow and arrows, but the instruction was too difficult to follow.
"I don't understand anything. I guess I should've read more about the weird weapons in the library before coming here." Clint said, as he sat down on the ground and carefully read the instructions.
After a few minutes of reading, he still doesn't understand the mechanism of the weapon combinations. He gave up and planned to create himself a normal sword. His true goal was to buy Dust anyway to see their effectiveness. When he was about to melt the iron, a person entered the back door. The person was a woman with a tomboyish appearance.
"Oh, I didn't know there was someone here." The person said. "Should I leave?"
"No, no. It's fine. I was just… doing something stupid." Clint said, as he placed the iron back on the ground. "The truth is… I need someone's help. I have no idea on how to create a weapon mixture or something."
"Did you not attend any school? They basically taught you about the mechanics behind the makeshift weapons. They just wouldn't allow anyone to create them until junior high." The person said.
"Well, I was raised from the outside world so I have no knowledge about them." Clint said. "This is my first time hearing makeshift weapons or whatever they are called."
"Really? Well, I suppose I'll help." The person said. "My name is Coco Adel. What about your's?"
"I'm Clint Barton." Clint said, as he offered his hand. "Nice to meet you."
"Sure." Coco said, as she shook his hand.
The tomboyish woman then helped the archer with his weapon problems. Clint was starting to understand clearly from Coco's explanation better than the book. When Clint fully understands the instructions, he then attempts to make his own weapon. An hour later, Clint successfully created his own makeshift weapon.
It's a bow that can transform into a katana and a staff. The appearance is similar to his previous bow, but it has a mixture of light and dark purple in it. The new bow is much heavier to carry, as it weighs 250 pounds, and the bowstring will shatter someone's bones if they recklessly pull it. He intended to make it heavier so that nobody would be able to steal and use it easily unless they're strong and careful.
"Wow. What an interesting weapon of choice." Coco complimented. "I never heard of someone using a bow for combat since they deemed it ridiculous and useless."
"It honestly depends on how you use them." Clint said, as he placed his new weapon on the ground before wiping off his sweat. "Thanks for the help, Ms. Vadel. I'll owe you one."
"I'll keep that in mind." Coco said, as placed her newly created ammunition on her waist. "I guess I'll be seeing you, Mr. Barton."
Clint nodded before Coco exited the back room, "Now, it's time to test it one more time."
Clint uses his ordinary arrows for his new bow. Once he fired five arrows at the wall, he twirled his arm which caused the bow to transform into a katana. And when he spins the weapon, it transforms into a staff. He reverted it back into a bow when shake it.
"It works. Now, every ridiculous weapon had a name. What should I call mine?" Clint questioned, as he began to think of a name for his new weapon. "Ah. What about… Rōnin? I remember my children talking about lonely and wandering protagonists in samurai movies. I don't know why, but it's quite fitting for my new weapon."
After exiting the workshop, he was surprised that it was currently nighttime. He then entered the Dust shop and purchased various types of Dust. He bought three Yellow Dusts (Lightning), four Red Dusts (Fire), two Light Blue Dusts (Ice), one Green Dust (Plant), and six Dark Orange Dusts (Earth). Clint hopes that these Dusts are useful considering that his current currency is 3,400 Lien. He needs to find a way to earn some money.
After paying for the Dusts, he was planning to head towards the apartment building to get some rest, since it has been a long day. His plan changed when several suspicious-looking people, who were all wearing masks, entered the same shop he just exited.
"Hey, what are y-!" The shopkeeper was knocked unconscious by one of the masked people.
"Shut up." The masked person said. "Alright, everyone. Collect all the Dust that we needed. We wouldn't want to disappoint Mr. Taurus again, and remember, no witnesses."
Clint sighed from annoyance, "It looks like my job isn't over yet."
As he slowly moved closer to the store, the masked people were still collecting Dust. Clint briefly saw some spots and furs from those people, which made him assume that they were either faunus or humans were posing as one, considering there is faunus racism in this world.
"C'mon, we don't have all day." The masked person said.
"Hello. Is this a party? Why wasn't I invited?" Hawkeye joked, as everyone instantly stared at him.
"Who are you!?" The masked person said, as they aimed their guns at him. "Actually, forget about that. Humans aren't worth remembering. Any last words!?"
"Wow, you talk like a generic bad guy." Hawkeye said, as his finger slowly made its way to one of his old bow's buttons.
"Die, human scum!" The masked person yelled, as all of them were about to kill the archer.
Before they could fire, however, Hawkeye pressed the button which caused a minor flashbang, as it briefly blinded the masked people. Hawkeye then accurately fired an arrow at their weapons, and flung them away from their arms to disarm them.
"Come on, boys. Let's make it fair." Hawkeye said, as he destroyed the guns by using one of his arrows to carefully disintegrate them to ashes.
"Gurgh! Get that bastard!" The masked person ordered, as the masked people ran towards the archer with their own makeshift weapons.
Hawkeye transforms his new weapon from bow to katana. The katana was currently imbued with a Red Dust. When the masked people attacked him at once, Hawkeye sliced the air which released a fire slash and sent the people flying away.
A person immediately stood up and attacked the swordsman with their own sword. Hawkeye easily parried them before delivering a drop kick at the person.
The second person attempted to attack the swordsman with a weird looking ray gun, but Hawkeye immediately transform his weapon back to a bow and instantly fired a normal arrow at the person before they could fire, which incapacitated them.
The third and fourth person confronted the swordsman with a makeshift sai and spear.
Hawkeye transforms his weapon into a staff and secretly switches the Dust with another before swinging the weapon, "Come on."
The third person attacked the hero with their sai, but they were immediately disarmed. Hawkeye repeatedly hit the person with the staff multiple times before they fell on the floor unconscious. When the fourth person was about to fire her rifle, Hawkeye immediately repeatedly spun his staff which created a small rock wall to block the bullets.
After firing multiple times, the person was attempting to reload their gun hastily. Hawkeye slowly walked towards the person with a bow. When the person finished reloading, Hawkeye slapped the weapon away which caused the person to fall down on the ground.
"Stand down, kid. I wouldn't want to hurt you." Clint said.
Suddenly, he was sent flying across the streets by an unknown force. The downed person immediately ran away, along with their peers. When he instantly stood up, he briefly saw an invisible movement. He immediately knew that the last person, who was probably the leader, was invisible.
"Invisible huh." Clint said, as he pulled out his purple shades. "Let's not make the fight unfair now."
The purple shades enable him to give him a clear vision in the night and detect a person's heat signature. The invisible person was running towards him with a makeshift whip, which is imbued with Yellow Dust.
As the invisible person attempts to repeatedly attack the hero with their whips, Hawkeye instinctively rolls out of the way, barely dodges the attack, and executes a double full flip. Once the invisible person briefly stops their attack, Hawkeye then pulls out his old bow and immediately shoots an arrow at her. The invisible person attempted to destroy it, but the arrow surprisingly released an electrified net which successfully captured them as they were caught off-guard. The person then showed themselves.
Hawkeye stood up before releasing a tired pant, "I knew I should've stretched. I'm too old for this."
The captured person was attempting to break out from the net, but it was ineffective. Hawkeye then walked towards the person and removed the mask. The person was a girl who had some of a chameleon's features.
"Hey, calm down. I won't bite." Hawkeye reassured.
The chameleon girl growled, "You human scums are always like this! Mocking our kind until we're dead!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about. If you think I'm one of those 'Anti-Faunus' gangs then you're wrong. I was only stopping you and your pals from committing such terrible mistakes." Hawkeye said, as he lifted the captured faunus. "Now, let's take you to the police. What's your name, kid?"
"Why should I answer you, human!?" The chameleon girl angrily asked, as she attempted to break out from the net again.
"Well, if you want me to keep calling you chame-girl then that's fine with me." Hawkeye answered.
The chameleon girl scoffed, "Whatever. It doesn't matter if you know my name because once my boss arrives, you're a dead meat…! The name's Ilia Amitola."
"Ilia… isn't that a species of a butterfly?" Hawkeye asked.
Ilia sadly looked away, "My mother gave that to me. I don't know why, because I never asked."
Hawkeye could tell that the girl's parents tragically died by her expression, "I'm sorry."
"For what?" Illai asked.
"I'm sorry about your loss. I know what it feels like to lose someone." Hawkeye said, as Illia was surprised by his calm tone. "I lost a lot of comrades during my days as an assassin. And I'm a father of three. If I lose them, I might've ended up like you."
Illia unknowingly changed her expression from anger to sadness, "You don't know anything about me."
"No, I don't. But I know why you became like this." Hawkeye said, as he stopped on his tracks. "Your parents were killed by humans, weren't they? I could tell because of your hatred for my kind." [5]
"What do you know, human!? All you humans know is about violence and bloodshed!" Illia angrily asked.
"That may be true, but not all humans are like that. I know this one person who was a war veteran. He was inspirational to the people, he treats everyone equally, and he doesn't judge people by their appearance, but by their heart." Hawkeye answered, which surprised Illia. "I respect that man. If he were here right now, he would tell you to make a difference and choose a peaceful life, instead of continuing this path of vengeance. Do you understand me, kid?"
Ilia was silent. She was processing what the human said to her. She refuses to believe that there's such a human who would treat everyone equally, but she could tell that the hero wasn't lying to her. Although she still deeply hates humans, there's something different about this human. It's as if he's treating her like his own daughter.
"I…" Ilia was interrupted when a sudden smoke bomb occurred, which made Hawkeye drop her accidentally.
When Hawkeye pulls out an arrow, he is instantly launched across the streets. The faunus that escaped earlier came back with more firepower. They carried the captured Ilia, who was unconscious, and immediately fled away before the authorities would arrive.
"Damn it. At least they didn't kill me. I still haven't found a way back home." Clint said, before frustratingly sighing. "I need some drink, even though I promised Laura to stop drinking."
After running away from the public, they immediately hide in an abandoned building. Most of them were frustrated that they couldn't accomplish their assignments given by their leader.
"That damn Huntsman! He ruined everything!" A bear faunus yelled, while repeatedly punching a brick wall. "Where did he come from!?"
"I don't know. There isn't supposed to be any Huntsman or Huntresses patrolling this week due to their stupid quests." A bird faunus answered, as she threw her sword at the wall. "Did our leader miscalculate?"
"Well, miscalculated or not. The fact remains that we're going to be punished by him." A frog faunus said, while playing with her ray gun. "What should we do? He told us to meet him at the docks tomorrow night for departure."
"I don't know." A dog faunus answered, before he stared at Illia. "Do you have any ideas, Ilia?"
"Huh? Oh…" Ilia said, as she managed to snap away from her thoughts. "I guess we can… inform him that one Huntsman was guarding the store. We'll infiltrate another store, but this time, we'll do it covertly."
"That's an excellent idea." The bird faunus agreed, as she stared at Illia's unusual expression. "Ilia, did that human say anything to you? What did he say?"
"What do you think? He must've insulted her and our kind." The bear faunus answered. "Damn humans, they always think they're superior to us!"
The dog faunus doubts the answer before staring at Illia, "Ilia, what did he actually say?"
"I… don't know. It was… oddly confusing." Illia said, as her allies were confused on what he meant. "He was… different from most humans…"
The frog faunus scoffed, "Yeah, right. He was just hiding his true nature. All humans are liars, killers, and racists."
"I guess…" Illia slightly agreed. 'I'm not sure. He doesn't seem to be lying, and… he wasn't treating me as a criminal. I don't know. He was just probably hiding his true nature as Tiana says.'
After three days, Hawkeye has gained attention from the media. He has been apprehending criminals such as robbers and murderers, though the same faunus group that he fought before successfully stole Dusts from another store and escaped by riding a ship. Although he has gained attention from the news outlet, he has never made an appearance since it'll distract him from his goals.
"Whoo. What a day." Hawkeye said, as he walked away from criminals who were hanging from their toes.
"Get back here, Huntsman!" The criminal yelled.
"I'm no Huntsman, pal. I'm just an ordinary man with a bow and arrow." Hawkeye said, while smirking.
The reason why Hawkeye has been stopping criminals for the past three days was because he doesn't have anything to do. He initially planned to travel to another place yesterday, but he got distracted in stopping criminals.
Beacon Academy
Meanwhile, Ozpin was curious about the mysterious archer that patrols around the city. He has never heard of a Huntsman who could take down multiple skilled people with a bow and arrow.
"Have you heard about this archer through the news, Glynda?" Ozpin asked.
"Of course, I have. It's what the students have been talking about for the last three days." Glynda said, before sighing. "First, the mysterious arrival of the Avengers, and now, a mysterious archer that is patrolling the streets. Are they somehow connected?"
"Ma-" Ozpin was cut off when he received a new text from Dorothy. "Actually, they may be."
"What is it, Oz?" Glynda asked.
"My colleague, Dorothy, has informed me that the Avengers are on their way to Vale." Ozpin answered, which surprised Glynda. "She says that they're traveling here to meet with their other member – The Archer."
"So they're connected." Glynda mumbled.
"How convenient. It seems like I wouldn't waste my time on spying on them." Qrow said, before drinking his beer. "So, how should we greet these Avengers?"
"By inviting them to Beacon, of course." Ozpin answered, which surprised Glynda and Qrow. "But first, we must meet with the mysterious archer ourselves."
"How're you going to do that, Oz? Vale is a big city. It's going to be difficult to locate this person." Qrow said.
"Actually. That's going to be easy, barely an inconvenience." Ozpin reassured, as he pointed at the monitor where a drone spotted the archer from its perspective. "I have found him." [6]
City of Vale
Currently, he's heading towards the workshop that he saved days ago to collect his newly made arrows. The owner immediately deduced that the mysterious archer was him, but he wasn't planning on snitching him since he's grateful for keeping the streets of Vale in peace.
"Hello, Mr. Barton. The same amount of arrows as always?" The workshop owner questioned, while carrying a heavy box.
"Just the same, Mr. Gil." Clint said. [7]
"But before I give you your new set of trick arrows," Gil said, as he pulled out a different arrow. "Ta-dah. I created the fourth type of Dust – the Dust Arrow."
"Amazing…" Clint said, as the owner gave him the new model before mesmerizing at it. "Thank you, sir. But wasn't synthesizing Dust difficult?"
"Eh. It was, but it was worth it." Gil answered, before giving a box filled with trick arrows and Dust Arrows. "That'll be 32,000 Lien, Mr. Barton, but I'm giving you a 40% discount."
"You really have to scare me like that huh?" Clint questioned, as he gave the money before easily carrying the box on the way out. "See ya' later, Mr. Gil."
"See ya', Mr. Barton." Gil said, while impressed with the archer's strength. "Damn, he's strong. I guess that's coming from a guy who can carry a 250-pound bow. Sheesh, that's gotta hurt for a normal person."
As Clint made his way towards his apartment while carrying the box over his shoulder, he instinctively sensed that there was someone following him in the alleyway. He immediately dropped the box of arrows and aimed his bow at the unknown person.
"Who are you?" Clint asked.
The person chuckled, "I think the better question is: Who are you, hero?"
"The name's Clint Barton, or Hawkeye, if you prefer calling me that." Clint introduced himself. "You?"
"Qrow Branwen. A Huntsman." Qrow said, while laying his weapon over his shoulder. "Hawkeye? That's a bit of a generic name for an archer, you know."
"I didn't pick it." Clint said, before lowering his bow. "So, why's a Huntsman interested in me?"
"Mmm. It was probably because of you and your friends' sudden arrival." Qrow said.
"Friends?" Clint questioned.
"The Avengers? They've been busy helping Crystal Town cleansing Grimm for the past three days, and you're also doing the same. Capturing street criminals isn't an easy task for a single Huntsman, you know." Qrow complimented.
"Maybe because I'm not a Huntsman." Clint said. "How do I know that these 'Avengers' are the same ones I know?"
"Let's see. Captain Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Sam Wilson. Are the names familiar to you?" Qrow answered.
Clint smiled, "I'm not the only who was transported. Where are they?"
"They're on their way from Crystal Town." Qrow said. "So while waiting for them, the headmaster of Beacon wishes to speak with you."
"Beacon? As in Beacon Academy? Why would the principal want to see me, aside from making a ruckus for the past few days?" Clint asked.
"Who knows? I'm only interested in the answers. I don't really trust you, Avengers, that much." Qrow answered, as he walked away. "Are you coming?"
"Yeah, just let me grab my stuff at the apartment." Clint said.
The Next Day
Steve, Natasha, and Sam are currently on The Ship. When they left Crystal Town, the townsfolk were devastated, but they reassured them that they'll visit once in a while. Sam and Natasha were resting on the benches while Steve was on the balcony, staring at the vast ocean.
While Sam and Natasha were resting, they overheard some passengers conversing about a certain archer who saved everyone from the Bell Tribe three days ago.
"It seems like Barton has been busy, if it was indeed Barton." Sam said. "For all we know, it could've been another Huntsman with a bow and arrow."
"It's definitely him." Natasha said, as she sat up. "I heard that the Bell Tribe are one of the most feared bandit tribes in Remnant. They're skilled in combat and firearms, so a single Huntsman would've instantly been killed by them."
"And you're confident that Barton defeated them?" Sam asked, as he also sat up.
"Yes." Natasha confidently answered. "Aside from his excellent marksmanship, he's also skilled in combat. He was almost equally on par with me in CQC, but of course, I still bested him."
"Right. I forgot that he was a S.H.I.E.L.D. assassin before he became an Avenger." Sam said. "If the archer is indeed Barton, then that means he's really in the City of Vale."
"I hope he's doing well." Natasha worriedly said.
"He will be." Steve reassured, as he walked towards them. "Why? Because he's the 'World's Greatest Marksman', as he would say."
Sam rolled his eyes while smiling, "Of course he would say that."
"He's always been the jokester." Natasha said.
Author's Notes:
It seems that most of you readers loved this story, so I decided to continue with the story. I hope you enjoyed Hawkeye's chapter. There will be another chapter of one of the transported heroes, so look out for that. Please patient if I haven't published any chapters since I'm very busy with my school. I hope you understand.
[1] A reference to Bucky and Sam's hilarious conversation in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Episode 2: The Star-Spangled Man.
[2] Yes, it's the same Captain and First Mate in RWBY Volume 4, Episode 3: Of Runaways and Stowaways.
[3] Kai Zeigler, the First Mate's English voice actor, stated that the First Mate's name is Matte Skye in their headcanon.
[4] It's already obvious. The OC is based on Micah Bell, famously known as "The Rat" by the gamers, from Red Redemption 2.
[5] Although Ilia's parents were in a cave after an explosion went off, who's to say that humans didn't rig the cave with explosives in order to kill her parents and other disguised faunus?
[6] "Oh Really?" It's, of course, a reference to one of Pitch Meetings' famous catchphrase.
[7] The OC is a reference to Agil from Sword Art Online, but his appearance is completely different.
Stay tuned for the next chapter. Babush!
