OPENING #1
Song: This Will Be the Day
Artist: Jeff Williams
Singer: Casey Lee Jones
A skinny Steve Rogers was kneeling on the streets of Brooklyn from the 40's, as he was surrounded by bullies.
They see you as small and helpless
The bullies then disappeared, as he saw a shadowed silhouette of his muscular self in front of him.
They see you as just a child
The skinny Steve Rogers then stood up, as his surroundings transitioned to the modern Brooklyn. He then transitioned himself from skinny to the present Steve Rogers, before he ran towards an enemy while wielding his vibranium shield.
Surprised when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild
THE AVENGERS:
ASSEMBLE ON REMNANT
Prepare for your greatest moments
A young Natasha Romanoff was surrounded by numerous shadowed Black Widows, as she stared at Dreykov who was standing in front of the Widows.
Prepare for your finest hour
Sam Wilson stared back at his partner's grave before flying away.
Clint Barton wore his purple shades and calmly sighed, before firing an arrow at his target's head from a tall building.
The dream that you've always dreamed is suddenly about to flower
A horde of Grimm and Ultron Sentries were shown, as Ultron fired a laser blast before transitioning to Roman Torchwick, Crossbones, and Aldrich Killian were then shown while their goons were behind them.
We are lightning
Cinder was then shown in front while Mercury, Emerald, Mysterio, and Taskmaster were behind her.
Straying from the thunder
The Avengers – Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon, and Hawkeye – and Team RWBY were surrounded by a horde of Grimm, Ultron Sentries, and EXTREMIS Soldiers.
Miracles of ancient wonder
The two teams then dodged from Ultron's deadly laser beam, before rushing towards him and the horde.
This will be the day we've waited for
Jaune was staring at the statues of the original six Avengers.
This will be the day we open up the door
Pyrrha then placed her hand at Jaune's shoulder, as Team JNPR and other heroes – Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Harley Keener, Loki, Kate Bishop / Hawkeye, and Scott Lang / Ant-Man – were all shown. All of them had an Avenger logo implanted on their combat gears.
I don't wanna hear your absolution
Hope you're ready for a revolution
Ozpin, Glynda, Wong, and Black Panther were in the balcony of an airship.
Welcome to a world of new solutions
Welcome to a world of bloody evolution
Steve, Natasha, Sam, and Clint were then shown with their hero symbols along with Team RWBY's.
In time, your heart will open minds
A story will be told
All of the main and side heroes from both franchises were then shown, before ending with Ruby spinning her scythe and Steve throwing his shield.
And victory is in a simple soul
Unknown Town
A few days ago, there was a blue beam that landed in the middle of a town at night. The residents woke up and went to the central location in curiosity. When they arrived at the location, there was a huge crater as the guards were then investigating it. A single guard speculated that there was a man laying down on the crater as there were some traces of a person's body.
In a darkened alleyway, a man suddenly appeared out of thin air. When he removed his mask, he released a deep breath. The man was none other than the miniature hero, "Ant-Man".
"What the heck is going on? Where am I?" Scott asked himself, as took a peak at the houses. "This feels like I'm in the Medieval Era or something."
While processing the situation, Scott then realized that he was wearing his latest Ant-Man suit. He doesn't remember wearing the suit but he was grateful as he would've been in trouble by the guards.
"I need to move." Scott said, as he was about to shrink until a random kid poked his leg. "Huh?"
"Are you a Huntsman, mister?" The little girl asked.
"A Hunts…what?" Scott questioned, as he was unfamiliar with that term. 'Is that an occupation or something?'
"You know… a Huntsman… they're like… heroes who are dedicated to slaying the Grimm and to "uphold the peace" in this world…" The little girl answered.
Scott scratched his head, "I'm sorry, little girl, but I'm not a Huntsman. I'm not even an official hero… I think."
The little girl lowered her head, "Oh… it's just that… you look like a superhero so I thought you were a Huntsman. I thought you were gonna save us from that bad mayor."
"Bad mayor?" Scott questioned, as he looked around the village. "I'm sorry, but where am I?"
"Huh? You're in Hollow Town. Did you forget to read the sign, mister?" The little girl asked. [1]
Scott nervously chuckled, "Yeah, I was just roaming around so I didn't get to read the sign…"
'Hollow Town? That doesn't sound ominous.' Scott mentally said. 'This is odd. It feels like I'm not on Earth anymore.'
"Hey, get back!" The guards ordered the townsfolk to step away from the crater.
When a boy managed to get past the guards to personally see the crater, the guards immediately beat him up for disobeying their orders. Scott was shocked and horrified at what he was seeing, realizing that these guards are bad news to the town.
Scott then stared at the little girl, "I'll be right back."
The little girl nodded, "Okay…"
After the helmet covered his face, Scott disappeared from the girl's sight which almost made her freaked out. While the girl thought the man died, Scott was actually riding an ant. He was flying towards the boy to rescue him from the guards.
"Peasants. They always think they're mi-!" Before the guard could finish his sentence, he was knocked out by an unknown force.
"What the-!?" The guards immediately went into their defense pose, while the townsfolk were wondering what knocked the guard unconscious.
"Who goes there!?" One of the guards yelled.
*Playing "Ant-Man Theme" by Christophe Beck briefly*
Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere and kicked a guard before disappearing again. The guards were dumbfounded by what they witnessed. They thought that the stranger's Semblance was turning invisible.
"If he's invisible, then I can see him." The red-haired guard said, as his eyes turned yellow.
The Semblance of the red-haired guard is called 'Thermo'. He can easily see people's heat signature whether they're hiding behind a wall or are invisible. But the guard was confused, he couldn't see anything.
"Ya' found 'em?" One of the guards asked.
The red-haired shook his head, "No, I can't see their heat signatures."
The same guard groaned, "You're such a useless piece of sh-!"
Before he could finish his sentence, he was knocked down on the ground when an unknown force hit his chin. Most of the guards were terrified at the unknown stranger while the townspeople were conversing.
"Damn it! Where is he!?" One of the guards yelled, before taking out.
One by one, the guards were swiftly taken out by an unknown force. The only one left standing was the red-haired guard. He was visibly shaking due to the unexplained incident he witnessed. He never saw something like this during his years of service.
The man then visibly appeared before removing his mask, "Yo."
When the stranger revealed his face, the guard didn't recognize him, "W-Who are you!?"
"Hi, I'm Scott. You?" Scott introduced himself.
"Flask Flagon." Flask introduced himself. "Why are you doing this, Mr. Scott? It is a violation to attack a town guard."
"Right… and it's also a violation to attack innocent bystanders. I'm just stopping you from making a big mistake." Scott said.
"Playing a hero, huh? Only fools play heroes." Flask pulled out a mechanical golden trident as lightning was emitting from it.
"Hey, what's wrong with being a hero? Haven't you heard about the Avengers?" Scott closed his helmet to prepare for battle.
Flask tilted his head in confusion, "Avengers? Is that a band?"
"Huh? No. Avengers is the Earth's Mightiest… ah forget it." Scott said. 'That checks out my assumption. I'm on another planet. I know aliens exist, but I never thought I would be on an alien planet. I have to find a way to get back to Cassie, but first, I must take care of this guard and escape before reinforcements arrive.' [2]
Flask threw his trident at Scott, but the odd hero shrunk in order to avoid the deadly weapon. Scott then grew back to his original size and delivered a hurricanrana like his 'girlfriend', Hope van Dyne, before shrinking again.
Flask immediately stood up then used his Semblance to detect Scott's heat signature while he summoned back his weapon, which is similar to Thor's mystical hammer. He was unable to detect Scott as he was too tiny to see him.
Scott then delivered an uppercut in his shrunken state which made Flask tripped as he felt he was hit by a bullet. Scott returned back to his original size as the townsfolk were cheering on him. Scott turned around to greet the people.
"H-Hi, everyone." Scott nervously greeted before he turned back around to confront Flask. "Hey, are you done yet? Because I gotta run."
"No, I'm not." Flask answered before laughing.
Suddenly, Scott was blasted away by the trident's lightning. He painfully groaned from the attack. He should've expected that getting struck by lightning isn't good. If it weren't for the Ant-Man suit, he might've died right there and then.
Flask groaned before massaging his jaws, "You think I'm gonna let you walk away after you injured me and my fellow brothers? I don't think so."
Flask prepares to release a deadly lightning attack from his trident while Scott shrank down and rides a flying ant to knock out Flask immediately.
"I don't know who or what you are, but this is what you get for hurting my pride."
Flask then stomped the trident on the ground which caused a bubble of lightning to surround him and Scott. Fortunately, the townspeople weren't affected by the lightning as it didn't reach them, but it'll be soon. Meanwhile, Scott was secretly hiding beside Flask's boots.
'How do I stop this? I can't risk delivering another uppercut or hurricanrana without being blasted away, but if I don't do anything soon, those people will disintegrate.' Scott then looked up and saw a yellow gem on the trident. 'That is probably the power source. If I can remove it, this man will be powerless.'
But in order to reach the gem, he has to get slightly hit by a wave of lightning though he doesn't really care if he gets zapped as long as the people are safe. For him, this is his moment to shine. This is his Captain America moment.
"Alright, I can do this." Scott reassured himself.
*Playing the "Ant-Man Theme" by Christophe Beck*
Ant-Man climbed Flask's body to reach the gem while being zapped by waves of lightning. He was able to slightly endure the pain thanks to the suit. If he ever met Hank again, he'll have to thank him though he isn't sure if he wants to see him due to his actions in Germany. Once Scott was on Flask's shoulder, he jumped towards the gem and removed it with all of his might.
"Wha-!?"
After Scott removed the gem, the trident unexpectedly exploded. A few seconds later after the dust settled, Scott and Flask were laying on the ground. Scott opened his mask while licking his mouth.
"Does anyone have any orange slices? My mouth is so dry." [3]
Suddenly, he heard a scream. Scott looked over and saw Flask covered in painful scars from the explosion. He felt guilty for what he did to the guard, but he couldn't help him because of reinforcements. He had to shrink and escape. The crowd gasped when the mysterious hero vanished before their very eyes once again.
When the guards arrived, they tended to Flask's wounds while others carried numerous unconscious guards to the barracks. A rough looking general glared at the audience before he went with the other guards.
The crowd began to talk about the mysterious hero. They even called him the 'Vanisher' due to his Semblance. Meanwhile, the boy that Ant-Man saved earlier on was amazed by his heroism. He wanted to meet his hero, but he has no knowledge of who he is aside from his real name - Scott.
A few minutes later, Scott hid in an alleyway after his fight. During his fight, he ruled out that he is definitely not on Earth anymore. It was because of the weird looking weapons from the guards and humanoid animals amidst the crowd. He doesn't know why he's in this odd world, but he needs to find a way home. His daughter is probably worried sick and the FBI Agents would definitely know that he mysteriously disappeared at his home.
"I need to find a way back home."
"Don't rush it, Scott." A mysterious, echoing voice said.
Scott flinched from the sudden voice, "W-Who are you…?"
The mysterious person was wearing white robes and a mask that resembled a wasp. The person didn't have a physical body, but a spiritual one like a ghost. He doesn't know why, but he felt that he knew this person personally.
"My name is Janet van Dyne. I saved your life in the Quantum Realm." Janet answered.
Scott widened his eyes, "You're Hank's wife and Hope's mother. I thought you were dead."
Janet chuckled, "But I'm not. It's the same as you."
Scott then remembered when he was stuck in the Quantum Realm. He couldn't remember anything when he was in there, but what he remembered was a person whispering in his ears and physically touching his helmet which made him snap out of the trance. If it weren't for that person, he would've been stuck in the Quantum Realm forever.
"You. You were the one who saved me. Thank you." Scott said.
Janet bowed her head, "You're welcome."
After their introduction, there was a few seconds of silence until one of them spoke to break the tension.
"Now the introduction is out of the way, where in the world am I? And how are you here, Miss van Dyne?" Scott asked.
"I'm not sure. I haven't been in another world before. As for my appearance, I'm not sure either. It feels like I was forced out from the Quantum Realm when you were transported. We were entangled after all." Janet answered.
"Huh?"
Janet chuckled, "It's not what you think, Scott. Quantum Entanglement is a physical phenomenon that occurs when a group of particles creates, interacts, or shares spatial proximity, and the quantum state of each particle in the group is independent of the state of the other particles. It may not be possible to describe. The particles are separated from each other by a large distance. The problem of entanglement lies at the center of the discrepancy between classical physics and quantum physics. Entanglement is a major function of quantum mechanics that classical mechanics does not have."
"I… I'm so lost." Scott said.
"It means that our particles are bound together after I rescued you from the Quantum Realm. The entanglement was meant to be a message to my husband and daughter." Janet simplified the explanation while amused by Scott's cluelessness of quantum physics.
"So once I was transported in this universe, you were transported as well due to our entanglement. I kinda get the gist of it." Scott said. "Do you have any idea how to get back to Earth?"
"I'm sorry, no. Quantum Realm is one thing, but another planet isn't my area of expertise." Janet said. "For now, we must keep going until we'll find a way back home."
"I agree, but I don't know where to start. I don't even know if there are others from Earth who were transported here as well." Scott said. "I'll stay low for a while until I have some clues… and to avoid being captured by the guards."
"Well, you had to make a scene." Janet said.
While the two of them were having a conversation, the little girl from before walked towards Scott, much to his surprise. It seems that the girl was unable to see Janet, except for Scott.
"Hey, mister. Aren't you the one who fought the guards?" The little girl asked.
"Well, you could say that. Why?" Scott answered.
"That was amazing! My friends were talking about how you beat those bad men easily." The little girl said while punching the air. "Hey, mister. Would you like to meet my friends? They would be glad to meet you."
"I… I'm not sure, kid." Scott said, as he stared at Janet.
Janet nodded, "You should. You don't have anywhere to go anyway. And a hero shouldn't refuse this simple offer, right?"
"Ha Ha Ha. Very funny, Miss van Dyne. I guess you shared your humor with Hope." Scott said.
"Who're you talking to, mister?" The little girl asked.
"Huh? Oh, I'm just talking to my imaginary friend." Scott then stood up. "Take me to your friends. I got some time."
"Yay!"
While they were walking together, both of them introduced each other. The little girl's name was Nina Morohoshi, an orphan whose parents died from a Grimm attack. Scott felt that the name was oddly familiar, as if the name felt too traumatizing for him but he doesn't know why. He hopes that nothing bad happens to the sweet, little girl. [4]
Meanwhile, a woman passed by the alley, unknowingly almost met the Vanisher. She was wearing a long, green hooded cloak on top of an off-white blouse with frill detailing on the shoulders, pleated lower half with a central split, alongside a brown vest that had three straps and golden lining around the collar. She had a dark brown corset with matching pants, as well as a pair of brown thigh-high boots with large cuffs and golden armour plating covering the boots up to her knees.
"Is there any good inn in this town?" The woman wondered while leading her horse.
Hollow's Barrack
After the incident, the general paid the unconscious soldiers a visit. Most of them were awake while the others remained unconscious. Flask isn't amongst the soldiers as he was taken to the medical center due to his injuries. The general walked towards one of the guards for questioning.
"What the hell happened there!? How could you pathetic idiots as well as Flask be defeated so easily!? It seems that my mentor's training wasn't enough!" The general criticized the soldiers.
"Sir! You don't understand!" One of the soldiers answered. "The man that we fought… was a ghost!"
"Ha!? A ghost!?"
"It's true, sir." The second soldier calmly answered. "The man disappeared from our very eyes. And when he did, we were struck by an invisible force. It felt like we were hit by an incoming bullet."
"Seriously!? Couldn't Flask use his Semblance to detect his heat signature!?"
"His Semblance was ineffective, sir. He couldn't detect his heat signature, he said." The third soldier answered while groaning from the neck stiff.
'Flask couldn't detect this enemy? That doesn't make any sense. If the enemy had an invisible Semblance, their heat signature still remains. Who the heck is this guy!?' The general angrily wondered, before calmly sighing. "Alright, you guys rest up. I'll find this… Vanisher myself before the mayor finds out and has our heads. Don't make the same mistakes again!"
"Sir, yes sir!" The soldiers yelled.
As the general walked out of the barrack, he clenched his fist in anger. There was someone who dared to attack his men. He'll make sure that whoever they are will pay for their crimes.
"First, the constant attack of Grimm and now there's someone who managed to defeat my men. What an unfortunate day for me."
"Oh? Having troubles, General Louis." An unknown voice said.
General Louis pulled out his staff which then turned into a battle axe at the unknown person. It was a woman who is fair-skinned with ashen-black hair that covers her left amber eye.
"Cinder Fall. What the hell are you doing back in my town?" Louis demanded.
"My, my. It's been so long since we have met. Is that how you treat an old friend?" Cinder asked.
"I don't treat criminals as my friend." Louis then stared at the two companions. "Who are these two?"
There were two people standing behind Cinder. One who is shown to be a pale, young man with gray eyes and gray hair, partially slicked back while unkempt at the front and the other who is a young woman with medium-brown skin and dark-red eyes. Her hair is a light, mint-green with a straight fringe and bangs as well as two long locks on each side in the back.
"These are my companions, Mercury Black and Emerald Sustrai." Cinder introduced her companions.
"Black? So you're the son of the infamous assassin, Marcus Black." Louis cautiously stared at the young man.
"You knew my father?" Mercury was interested that someone knew his old man.
"Of course. He tried to kill me, but failed miserably. I assumed he already passed away judging by your expressions. My condolences." Louis pretends to feel remorse for the young assassin.
"I don't care about him. He was an asshole." Mercury clenched his fist.
Louis laughed, "I guess he wasn't the best father, which is understandable. Anyway, what are you doing here, Cinder? There's nothing for you in this rundown town."
Cinder smirked, "I heard from a passing merchant that there was a maiden in this town. I would love to meet her."
"A maiden? I don't know what the hell is that but I'm confident to say that there's no such thing in this place." Louis then deactivated his battle axe and sheathed it on his back. "Now, I have a duty to do. If you want to avoid imprisonment, I suggest you leave this town immediately."
As General Louis left the exceptional criminals to find the Vanisher, Mercury scoffed at the law bidding general. He didn't expect that there would be someone who was close to his bastard old man.
"Who in the world is he? And how do you two know each other?" Mercury asked Cinder.
"Well, I was imprisoned after causing such a ruckus in this town when I was a child, but he gave me a chance by capturing a dangerous criminal because of my powerful Semblance. He let me off with a warning." Cinder said.
"He doesn't show you any respect, ma'am. Should I eliminate him?" Emerald asked.
"It won't end well for you. His Semblance is too powerful for your illusions to be effective. He'll end you with one swipe of his axe." Cinder said.
"So he's a monster." Mercury said.
"Besides, we're not here to cause a ruckus. I'm certain that the Fall Maiden is in this town." Cinder said, as rain started to fall from the sky. "But first, we must find an inn. It's not like the maiden would leave during a rainstorm anyway."
Mercury sighed, "I just hope that the merchant was correct."
"If he wasn't and wasted my time, I'll give him a painful death." Cinder said, as the three of them walked around to find an inn. "Anyway, did something eventful happen in this town? I feel like those pathetic guards are more alert than ever."
"You didn't know about the Vanisher? He basically knocked out numerous guards like they were nothing." Mercury said.
"It isn't surprising, considering they are weak." Emerald insulted the guards.
"Vanisher, huh? He sounds interesting." Cinder said, as her mind is filled with curiosity.
"He could be a 'she'." Mercury pointed out, as Cinder glared at him. "What? I'm just saying."
The three of them then entered an inn, unknowingly passing by the maiden they were looking for. The maiden was abruptly looking for a shelter but she didn't want to stay in an inn, otherwise, her enemies would find her easily. She has to stay hidden.
Sewer System
As Nina guides the miniature hero through the sewer system, Scott looks around with a frown expression on his face. There were homeless people living in the sewers, especially children. There's a child who used her power to purify the sewer water into clean water while the other used his power to imprison a baby alligator for food.
"You guys… live here?" Scott was shocked by the numerous homeless people living in this disgusting underground.
"We have no choice, Mr. Scott. Ever since that mayor arrived in this town, many people have suffered from poverty." Nina explained. "We lived in prosperity, and now we suffer."
Scott looked at the homeless people once again before he shook his head. While the rich are spending the luxury from above, the people from below are suffering. It reminded him of when the company he once worked for lied and stole money from their clients, which inevitably caused him to become a cat burglar.
The two of them eventually arrived at their destination. There were several children and a few adults surrounding in a circle, as if they were having a council meeting. Scott guessed that they're a group of resistance of some sorts.
"Hello, everyone. I'm back." Nina waved her hand at her friends.
"Nina, you're back!" A few of her friends immediately rushed towards her and gave her a hug.
A black-skinned faunus with leopard features walked towards the little girl, "Where have you been, Nina? Didn't I tell you to return immediately?"
"I'm sorry, sir. It's because I met up with a Huntsman." Nina pointed at Scott who was once again confused by that word.
"A Huntsman?" The faunus questioned, as he walked towards Scott and closely stared at him.
Scott was sweating profusely while gulping from nervousness, 'Jeez, he's big like Peachy.'
"You don't look much. Are you sure he's a Huntsman, Nina?" The faunus refused to believe that Scott was a Huntsman, much to his chagrin even though he doesn't know what a Huntsman is.
Nina nodded, "He beat up those soldiers like they were nothing earlier."
After hearing Nina, almost everyone reacted and stared at Scott with admiration while the leopard faunus held the tilt of his weapon with caution.
"You're the Vanisher!" One of the children pointed out.
"Vanisher? Cool…"
"I can't believe he's actually here."
Scott nervously chuckled, "Hey, guys. I'm Scott Lang. I technically go by the name Ant-"
The hero was interrupted by a loud laughter. The laugh came from none other than the leopard faunus.
"I didn't expect that you're Vanisher. You made a name for yourself within minutes, Huntsman." The leopard faunus then extended his hand. "I'm King. The leader of the Sewer Mutant Resistance." [5]
'Sewer Mutant…? That's like something the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would come up with.' Scott mentally said, before shaking King's hand. "Nice to meet you, sir. But I'm not actually a Huntsman or whatever that is."
"Oh? Then what were you doing in this rundown town?" King asked. "There's nothing for you here."
"I didn't really have a choice, sir." Scott gulped from King's intimidation presence. "I was transported here against my will. The crater is the proof."
"I see. Well, since you're here. What are you gonna do now? You're currently wanted by the guards." King asked.
"Well…" Scott looked at the sickly people around him. "I guess I'll just… roam around town until… the mayor is gone."
King raised his eyebrow, "Mayor is gone? What is that supposed to mean?"
"You'll understand what I mean." Scott said.
King sighed, "Fine, but you mustn't tell anyone about our base. I'll mercilessly murder you if you do."
Scott gulped, "Don't worry, I won't."
Hollow Bank
Scott, who was wearing a rugged cloak in order to hide the suit and his face, stared at the bank. The bank's structure reminded him of the Gringotts Bank from the Harry Potter franchise. And he was about to rob and give to the Sewer Mutant Resistance as a gift. He'll basically be Robin Hood.
Janet appeared behind Scott, "Are you really going to rob that bank, Scott?"
"I know that I should be looking for a way home, but I can't abandon those homeless people. They have suffered." Scott said. "Besides, this is my time to shine as a hero."
Janet chuckled, "You're different from my husband. You're carefree while he's serious during missions."
Scott scratched his head from embarrassment, "You're too kind, Ms. van Dyne. Alright, it's time to rob the bank."
When Scott entered the bank, the workers stared at the hero. As soon as the bank guards spotted the cloaked man, they pointed their weird looking spears at the man.
"Who are you!? State your name and business!" The first guard demanded.
Suddenly, the man vanished as the cloak fell on the ground. The guards immediately knew who the stranger was.
"It's the Vanishing Bandit! Sound the al-!" The first guard was sent flying into a wall by an unknown force before he could finish his sentence.
"Sir!" The second was sent flying into a wall as well.
When the stranger appeared from thin air, the guards surrounded him with different types of weapons.
"It's the Vanishing Bandit." A guard said.
"Vanishing Bandit, you have no way to run. Surrender now!" The captain ordered.
"Sorry, man. I won't leave without… stealing from your boss first." The stranger said. "After all, It's better to share the riches with the people, right?"
The stranger showed his appearance to the guards. Most of them were confused as he was wearing some kind of a motorcycle suit while the design has the appearance of an ant. The stranger then opened the helmet to let all of the guards see his face.
"Who the hell are you…?" The captain asked.
"Me? I'm Scott Lang, just an ordinary cat burglar." Scott introduced himself as he closed the helmet back, "But you can call me 'Ant-Man'."
*Playing the "Ant-Man Theme" by Christophe Beck*
Ant-Man continued to attack the remaining guards, but spared the workers as they cower in fear. Unlike the guards in Pym Technologies, the guards were a bit difficult as all of them have some kind of barriers in their body. It's the same with the guards he fought earlier. He assumed that it was a protective shield, but the shield didn't stand a chance against his superhuman strength when he was tiny.
Ant-Man then dodged several spear-like weapons that were aiming for him. He didn't think about it before because he was in a rush, but the weapons were really advanced looking. It was like all of them were made by Tony Stark himself. It seems that this world's technology are slightly more advanced than Earth's. He then continued to knock the remaining guards unconscious before he turned his attention to a lady worker and walked towards her with his mask off.
"Hi, I'm Scott. Would you kindly open the vault please?" Scott politely asked.
The lady worker immediately pressed a button that protected the Vault Door with another Vault Door while blushing from Scott's handsome face.
"That's a no, I guess." Scott then walked towards the vault while the workers curiously stared at him and examined the protective door.
Despite his thievery skills, he couldn't find a way to open the door. It was because he doesn't have time as more guards will be on their way and the other was because it was a different vault door than the one he cracked from Hank's house.
"Since I can't open the door, I'll use this little guy." Scott pulled out a red disk.
The workers were curious about what the tiny device was. They thought that it was made by Atlas, so they assumed that this heroic thief robbed Atlas before he escaped to Hollow Town which is completely untrue.
Once Scott threw the disk at the vault door, it shrank to a size of an ant which leaves the vault wide open for some grabs. He was unfamiliar with the money as they were completely different from the usual dollar bills, but he ignored it and pulled out several shrinking disks and threw them at the coins, which made all the Lien shrink. The worker's jaw dropped at the device to the point they began to fear it.
After Scott placed all of the tiny money in the sack, he turned around to the workers and said, "Bye, guys". He then disappeared after pressing a button on his glove. The workers were baffled from what they witnessed, but they shook it off when the guards appeared to apprehend the Vanisher.
"What the hell happened here!?" Louis angrily asked the workers.
"Well, a… ha-ha-handsome man robbed the bank, sir!" The lady worker answered with a stutter.
"Handsome? Don't play fool with me, lady! Criminals ain't handsome and beautiful. They're rotten corpses!" Louis angrily corrected the worker, as he despises anyone who is considered handsome. "Where did he go!?"
"We don't know, sir. He only said his farewells before he disappeared." A male worker answered.
Louis slammed his hand on the counter, "Damn it! Find the Vanisher Bandit now!"
"Actually, sir. His name is A-" A second male worker instantly silenced himself after being glared at by the angry general. "Sorry, sir."
After successfully escaping from the guards, Scott flew towards the alleyway and hid until the commotion was down. He then pulled out a map of Hollow Town and crossed out the bank he robbed. He's planning to rob another bank tonight, though he wondered why there are so many banks in one town.
"How rich is this mayor? And he doesn't even share it with the people. A cat burglar wouldn't have robbed his bank if he wasn't selfish." Scott then put away the map.
"So that's what you were doing, Mr. Scott." The little girl, Nina, said which slightly spooked Scott from the unexpected visitor.
Scott sighed, "You scared me, kid. And yeah, I figure I should steal the mayor's money because they don't deserve it."
"… and what are you going to do with it?" Nina quietly asked while staring at the money, which was back to normal size.
Scott smiled and handed it over to Nina, "Give to it the ones that deserve it."
"You're a generous man, Mr. Scott. Thank you." Nina said while hiding her gratefulness expression from him.
"You're welcome." Scott said, while being amazed by Nina's incredible strength.
A second figure then came out from the shadows, "So that's what you are doing. I never thought you would actually dare to rob the mayor's bank."
"You've been here this whole time!?" Scott exclaimed.
"Of course, I was. I was worried that you would hurt Nina, but it turns out you're alright." King explained. "Anyway, since you declared that you're the mayor's enemy, would you like to join the Sewer Mutant Resistance? We could use a man like you in our group."
Scott was hesitant since he wanted to immediately go back home, but he'll feel a tremendous amount of regret if he leaves homeless and hungry people. Since he doesn't have a way home, he figures that he should join the resistance until the mayor disappears from the town or he's replaced with a better one. He accepts the offer of invitation.
"Sure, but I have one condition."
"What is it?"
"How about changing the name 'Sewer Mutant Resistance' to 'Vanishing Ant Resistance?"
A Few Hours Later…
There was a lot of commotion in the town after several Lien were stolen from the mayor's bank. The cash was stolen by none other than the Vanisher, or the 'Vanishing Bandit'. A new name that the people gave for the mysterious hero.
The general desperately tried to catch the invisible thief, but they disappeared before he arrived at the scene. It made his head boil after seeing his unconscious men on the ground. Unexpectedly, a carriage filled with the mayor's gold was attacked by an invisible force. The carriage came from the mayor's hometown whom he also governed over.
"What the hell is going on!?" General Louis clenched his fist which caused a small crack on the ground. "The mayor isn't going to be happy!"
While the general and his men continued to find the Vanishing Bandit, three people in an inn were amused by the general's exasperated expression.
"It seems that this Vanishing Bandit continues to play hero." Mercury said. "I'm curious to see who he is. I bet I can beat him."
"Ignore the bandit, we need to discuss a plan." Cinder said. "It seems that I have found the Fall Maiden thanks to an informant in this town."
"Really? That was fast." Emerald said while chewing her food.
"Though I'm not sure if she's actually the maiden. We need to wait for a few more days for confirmation." Cinder said.
Mercury sighed from annoyance, "Great. It looks like we'll be staying in this stinky town forever. Wonderful!"
"We won't be staying long once the woman reveals her powers. She's currently repressing it in order to hide from us." Cinder stared through the window. "Besides, you can do something to pass the time."
"Yeah, like what?" Mercury asked while drinking beer.
"Assassination." Cinder slowly said, which piqued the young assassin with interest.
"Interesting…" Mercury grinned.
Emerald rolled her eyes, 'And you said that you hated your father. You're basically turning into him.'
After three days, the infamous Vanishing Bandit continued to loot the mayor's valuable treasures and gave it to the people. The townsfolk were beginning to live a prosperous life compared to before. There were no hungry children on the streets. The Vanishing Bandit has achieved his goal in helping the people as a robber.
Although his achievements were great, the political key figure from above wasn't happy. The mayor, whose name is Jung, was throwing a tantrum due to his stolen Lien. His room was trashed from the tantrum while the deceased body of a maid, who has a strangulation mark, was laying on the floor. The maids were standing outside of his room while shivering in fear. [6]
"DAMN IT! WHO THE HELL IS THIS VANISHING BANDIT!?" Jung continued to throw random furniture across his room. "MY LIEN IS ALL GONE! I HAVE NOTHING!"
"Relax, mayor. We'll find that pesky ant as fast as we can." Louis tried to reassure the mayor.
Jung used his Semblance at the general out of pure rage. Louis was then slammed on the ground easily, as he tried to lift his own body but it was too heavy for him. The mayor's Semblance is called 'Gravity'. He has the ability to lighten or harden one's gravity. He has secretly killed several faunus with his Semblance.
"You dare try to calm me, general!?" Jung asked with a threatening tone. "THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU JUST FIND HIM!!! HOW HARD COULD IT BE!?"
"S-sir…! G-G-Give m-me a c-c-c-chance…!" Louis struggled to say his words due to heavy gravity.
"Tsk. You're lucky that you aren't useless." Jung said as he finally calmed down after six hours of tantrum. "If you still haven't found that pesky ant, I'll have your head."
Louis stood up on the ground and painfully bowed his head, "Yes, sir."
As the general left, Louis ordered the maids to pick up their dead comrade as her corpse was reeking his room. He then grabbed himself a drink before perfectly throwing his wine glass at one of the guard gates.
"Vanishing Bandit, you dare steal my treasure? I'll kill you with my own bare hands!"
In an unknown part of the town, the maiden realized that she is currently being followed by three unknown people. She felt that she needed to escape the town as soon as possible. But first, she needs a horse.
"Where can I get a…?" She was then bumped by a man who was eating an apple.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Are you okay?" The man, who is revealed to be Scott, apologized.
"I'm fine. I'm just in a hurry." The maiden said, as she closely looked at the man. "You seem familiar. Have I seen you somewhere?"
"No? I don't think so." Scott attempted to hide his hero identity by rapidly eating the apple. "Anyway, where are you going?"
"Ah. I'm just trying to buy a horse. I need to get out of town."
"Why? Is someone chasing you?"
"You could say that. Do you know where the stables are, sir?"
"Sure. Just turn left then right and you'll see some horses there. Are you sure you'll be fine?"
The maiden nodded before leaving, "I will. Thanks for the help."
As the maiden left, Scott wondered whether to apprehend the ones that were chasing the woman. Before considering it, several guards came out from the mayor's mansion to find the Vanishing Bandit and the resistance group, the Vanishing Ant Resistance.
"It seems that I have problems of my own." Scott sneakily walks away from the soldiers. "The mayor is getting bold. I have to warn my friends."
Janet suddenly appeared, "Do you have any plans, Scott?"
"Oh, I do. I've been planning on assaulting the mayor's mansion three days ago. Once we've finished the assault, we'll finally be able to figure out how to get back to our world."
Janet smiled, "I can't wait to see my husband and daughter again."
Vanishing Ant Resistance Base
As Scott walked through the sewer system, he was smiling when the homeless people were happy due to contributing food and Lien to them. The sewer wasn't filled with a gloomy and depressing atmosphere anymore.
"You made them happy, Scott. You're a hero." Janet complimented.
Scott blushed from embarrassment, "Aw shucks. That's embarrassing."
As Scott continued walking, he saw the members waiting for him to have a meeting. When the meeting starts, they discuss invading the mayor's mansion to dethrone the mayor himself. Once the mayor is gone, the town will be freed from his rule and replace him with a responsible one. The resistance will start attacking at noon. They'll have to be careful in order to avoid being seen by the guards. They'll surprise the mayor with a stealth attack rather than a surprise one.
"After three days of stealing from the mayor, we're going to steal from the mayor now." Scott said. "I hope the plan goes well."
"Don't jinx it, Scott." Janet suggested. "That happened to me once… which caused me to get stuck in the Quantum Realm."
"I'm sorry, Ms. van Dyne." Scott apologized. "Hank and Hope would've gotten you out already if I wasn't… transported in this new world."
"It's alright, Scott. They'll find a way to locate both of us. I assume they'll know that you disappeared because they keep tabs on you." Janet reassured Scott.
"Huh? How do you know that?" Scott asked curiously.
"It was because of aligning with a fugitive like Captain America." Janet said, which surprised Scott. "I kinda accidentally peeked into your memories thanks to the quantum entanglement."
Scott blushed embarrassingly, "You didn't read anything… you know."
Janet chuckled, "Don't worry. Like I said, I peeked through your memories by accident."
While conversing with each other, noon soon arrived. The resistance prepared their gear for a possible fight. Nina and the other children were tasked to be on the streets to warn them about the incoming soldiers while the fighters protect Ant-Man and Tiger who will capture the mayor. Scott hopes that the plan is executed smoothly.
Mayor's Mansion
A few minutes later, the plan slightly went awry. The soldiers were already expecting the resistance to invade the mansion at noon. Ant-Man and King could hear the chaos and mayhem outside while in the secret tunnel that leads to the mayor's kitchen hopefully.
"Did somebody leak our plan or something!?" King asked angrily while worried about his friends being beaten or killed by the soldiers.
"No, I don't think so. I think they've predicted our next move." Ant-Man said. "We've been stealing the banks for the past three days that they must've known that we'll break into the mansion. We should've waited for a week."
"Well, there's no point of regrets now. We must proceed as planned or it'll be nothing." King said, as both of them almost reached the door. "All right, shorty. It's time to shrink."
After Scott shrinks himself, he and King open the door while he is riding on a flying ant. They were in the kitchen but it was dark and silent. As they silently made their way to the bedroom upstairs, Ant-Man could smell something odd from the basement.
"Hey, I'm gonna check down in the basement. You'll go after the mayor." Ant-Man said.
"Copy that." King said, activating his gauntlets that could shoot red laser dusts.
Ant-Man flew down the basement. It reeked with the smell of corpses and blood. After reaching the basement, he was horrified when he witnessed numerous skeletons of dead faunus. He speculated that these skeletons have been here for quite a while now.
"If I had to take a guess, that mayor killed these poor faunus out of rage." Ant-Man said.
"This is sickening." Janet said.
"I never thought I would encounter dead bodies in my 'heroic' journey." Ant-Man said. "That mayor has to face justice."
Suddenly, Ant-Man heard a scuffle upstairs. He instantly ran upstairs after looking at the scattered skeletons once more. After he arrived, he saw King unable to stand up as he was feeling something pushing him down. He turned his attention to the mayor who didn't even see him entering the room as he was too focused on King.
"You faunus scum are annoying me! I've already been annoyed by the Vanishing Bandit situation, and now, you and your team of sinners are trying to rob me!? Who do you think you are!?" Jung asked angrily while still using his Semblance to inflict harm to King.
"Hey, fat bird!" Ant-Man called out to him. "I'm the one you're looking for, right?"
"You!" Jung deactivated his Semblance which released King who was coughing and groaning. "You're the one that is stealing from me! You're gonna pay for that, Vanishing Bandit!"
"Come and get me then." Ant-Man demanded.
Before Jung activates his Semblance, Ant-Man instantly shrinks to become 'invisible' from the twisted mayor. Jung was looking around frantically for Ant-Man, but he couldn't see him. Suddenly, he was hit in the face by some kind of bullet repeatedly. He was swinging around his fists or activating his Semblance at random places, but it was ineffective as Ant-Man made sure to avoid getting struck by the deadly Semblance.
"What's the matter? Can't hit what you can't see?" Ant-Man asked.
Jung growled, "Why're you doing this!? I didn't do anything wrong!"
"…you've got to be bullsh*tting me." Ant-Man said with an unamused expression. "Have you seen what's in your basement!? Skeletons of the ones you killed!"
Jung scoffed, "Those faunus are filthy creatures that are meant to exist as tools for humans. And like any tools, I killed them because they aren't useful anymore. That isn't a crime!"
"…that's murder, dipsh*t." Ant-Man increases the strength of his punches which launches the mayor into his own bed. "You have no right to murder them!"
Scott went back to his ordinary size because he was confident that the mayor wouldn't be able to use Semblance because he was too bruised to fight back. King recovered from being a victim of the Semblance, as he angrily walked towards Jung and grabbed his neck. Scott didn't stop him because he could feel the rage emitting from him.
"Tell me. Did they scream…!?" King asked about how the faunus that the mayor killed died.
Jung chuckled, "Most of them. Those worthless animals. Your kind are bastards in society."
"From where I'm standing, you're currently the bastard." Ant-Man deactivated his helmet.
"You're a human!? You're working with these freaks!?" Jung was genuinely shocked that the Vanishing Bandit wasn't a faunus.
"Hey, most of his guys are humans. The resistance isn't only for faunus, you know." Scott said. "Now, you have two choices. You either surrender and face consequences for your crimes or my friend will kill you… yeah, that's it. There isn't much in the choices to be honest."
Jung chuckled, "I take the la…"
King instantly killed the mayor by breaking his neck after refusing his friend's offer while Scott closed his eyes as he doesn't want to witness a murder even though he committed one against the Yellowjacket. King stared at the mayor who was slowly dying from the lack of air.
"Do you really have to be so quick? I wanted to get out before you did… that." Scott said.
"Sorry, I was frustrated." Tiger apologized.
Suddenly, someone entered the bedroom through the ceiling. Both of them stared at the new enemy. It was none other than General Louis who was infuriated that a bunch of outlaws murdered the mayor successfully.
"You-! You kill an innocent man!" Louis declared angrily.
Scott sighed, "Yet another man who thinks they're justice."
The fight between the general, the resistance leader, and the cat burglar broke out. The general was swinging his sword masterfully, so King and Scott kept dodging before striking at the right time. They were incredibly having a hard time putting him down because of his height, durability, and a seemingly indestructible aura, but they eventually did though it took for a few minutes.
"You… will… not… WIN!!!" Louis swings his battle axe once again, even though his aura has been temporarily destroyed.
Ant-Man shrinks once again and delivers lightning punches at his face while King deals with the body. Together, they took down the monstrosity of a human. They looked over the balcony and saw the resistance winning the fight thanks to their superior Semblance though there were some casualties from both sides.
"Finally, after months of suffering, it's over." King said. "Now, we need a new mayor. One that isn't a human supremacist nor a greedy psychopath. How about you, Scott Lang? Would you like to become a mayor?"
Scott bursted out laughing, "I'm sorry, but that's not gonna happen. I'm a thief… and a superhero. I have no qualifications to run as a mayor. Plus, it's too much work."
"Isn't being a 'superhero' too much work as well?" King pointed out.
"Well… at least it doesn't require doing paperwork…" Scott said. "With this, my work here is done. I'll have to leave town."
"Already? Why don't you celebrate with us?" King was saddened that their savior was leaving already.
"I need to find a way back home. I have a daughter back home. She'll be worried when she realizes that I disappeared for no apparent reason." Scott said, placing his hand on King's shoulder. "You'll do well here without me. I'll come and visit this town soon."
King smiled before offering a handshake, "Thanks for your help, Ant-Man. You were an outsider yet you helped with our cause."
Scott accepted his handshake, "No problem, because that's what heroes do."
"A cheesy one liner, but very effective." Janet said while snickering.
"Please don't ruin the moment, Ms. van Dyne." Scott whispered to her.
As the sun rose on the next day, Scott left town while his newfound friends watched him leave. Nina wished that he stayed because he's a hero of this town, but she understood that he needed to be with his family. Scott whistles while walking to his next journey and flipping a small plastic bottle that contains a mini General Louis.
"Let me out!" Louis ordered the cat burglar.
"Man, something is really buzzing around my head. I wonder what it is." Scott said sarcastically, pretending to ignore the general.
"You're quite cruel, Scott." Janet pointed out while containing her laughter.
"Well, I'm a thief. This is my first time keeping a trophy." Scott said while flipping the bottle which the general was sickened for.
Meanwhile, the maiden quietly left town on the other side with her white horse. She wished to participate in the rebellion to help the Ant Vanishing Resistance, but she wouldn't want anyone to discover her location. Unbeknownst to him, she was currently being followed by three individuals.
"So she's the maiden. She seems young to be one." Mercury said.
"It doesn't matter how young she is. I'll have her power soon enough." Cinder said.
"Should we attack her now, ma'am?" Emerald asked, preparing to take out her weapon.
"No, not now. We'll attack once she's farther away from town." Cinder glared at the Vanishing Bandit on the other side. "She'll be able to call for help from anyone. We need to make sure she's alone."
"If you're worried about the Vanishing Bandit, I can take him out for you." Mercury said, twirling his legs at the ready.
"Don't waste your energy on the weakling. That isn't our primary goal right now." Cinder ordered him to stand down.
After The Ship arrived at its destination, Qrow went ahead and looked for one of the missing people from Earth. He heard some rumors that a bunch of resistance who called themselves the 'Vanishing Ant Resistance' were fighting against the corrupt mayor on Hollow Town.
"I hope that Ant-Man is in that place, otherwise, I've traveled here for nothing." Qrow then released a sigh. "I need a drink."
While traveling to Hollow Town, he spotted a cloaked figure riding a white horse. He realized that she was the current Fall Maiden that Ozpin told him to find and protect months ago. He couldn't believe the coincidence that she's in the same place.
"I don't know. Which one should I choose? Find the ant guy or follow the maiden…" Qrow drank a beer before deciding his choice. "If that guy is a hero from his world, then he can handle himself. I don't think an inexperienced maiden can handle her enemies however…"
Qrow decided to follow the maiden after messaging Ozpin about the fallen maiden's current location. The same location that Ant-Man is rumored to be in. He hopes that Ozpin will tell The Avengers and send them here so they can retrieve one of their own by themselves while he follows the maiden and also collect more information about other missing people from Earth.
"This job isn't getting easier." Qrow then drank his beer once again while quietly following the Fall Maiden. "I hope she won't get in trouble, but with my Semblance, I highly doubt it."
Author's Notes:
This chapter has finally arrived. I hope you guys enjoyed Ant-Man's chapter. Some of you may have realized that the final fight was a bit rushed… and it's because it is lol. I wanted to move on already from this chapter because this caused me to have a writer's block. The next chapter will be The Avengers going on a mission to reunite with Ant-Man. After that, it will be another solo chapter of another MCU character. It could be either Spider-Man or Shang-Chi. Wong and Black Panther won't have their own chapters.
[1] The town's name was a combination of Hollow Bastion and Traverse Town from Kingdom Hearts, one of my favorite games even though they're quite time consuming and annoying.
[2] A reference to Spider-Man trying to tell his variants about The Avengers in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
[3] A reference to Ant-Man wanting an orange slice after being knocked down by Iron Man and War Machine in Captain America: Civil War.
[4] A die hard Fullmetal Alchemist fan would know the reference. Her last name is the actress' last name - Sumire Morohoshi.
[5] The leopard faunus is obviously based on King from the Tekken franchise. I wanted to name him differently, but I was unable to come up with one until I remembered a character from Tekken.
[6] The mayor is based on Kim Jong-un, the infamous dictator of North Korea. I just changed the name slightly.
