OPENING #1
Song: This Will Be the Day
Artist: Jeff Williams
Singer: Casey Lee Jones
A skinny Steve Rogers was kneeling on the streets of Brooklyn from the 40's, as he was surrounded by bullies.
They see you as small and helpless
The bullies then disappeared, as he saw a shadowed silhouette of his muscular self in front of him.
They see you as just a child
The skinny Steve Rogers then stood up, as his surroundings transitioned to the modern Brooklyn. He then transitioned himself from skinny to the present Steve Rogers, before he ran towards an enemy while wielding his vibranium shield.
Surprised when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild
THE AVENGERS:
ASSEMBLE ON REMNANT
Prepare for your greatest moments
A young Natasha Romanoff was surrounded by numerous shadowed Black Widows, as she stared at Dreykov who was standing in front of the Widows.
Prepare for your finest hour
Sam Wilson stared back at his partner's grave before flying away.
Clint Barton wore his purple shades and calmly sighed, before firing an arrow at his target's head from a tall building.
The dream that you've always dreamed is suddenly about to flower
A horde of Grimm and Ultron Sentries were shown, as Ultron fired a laser blast before transitioning to Roman Torchwick, Crossbones, and Aldrich Killian were then shown while their goons were behind them.
We are lightning
Cinder was then shown in front while Mercury, Emerald, Mysterio, and Taskmaster were behind her.
Straying from the thunder
The Avengers – Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon, and Hawkeye – and Team RWBY were surrounded by a horde of Grimm, Ultron Sentries, and EXTREMIS Soldiers.
Miracles of ancient wonder
The two teams then dodged from Ultron's deadly laser beam, before rushing towards him and the horde.
This will be the day we've waited for
Jaune was staring at the statues of the original six Avengers.
This will be the day we open up the door
Pyrrha then placed her hand at Jaune's shoulder, as Team JNPR and other heroes – Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Harley Keener, Loki, Kate Bishop / Hawkeye, and Scott Lang / Ant-Man – were all shown. All of them had an Avenger logo implanted on their combat gears.
I don't wanna hear your absolution
Hope you're ready for a revolution
Ozpin, Glynda, Wong, and Black Panther were in the balcony of an airship.
Welcome to a world of new solutions
Welcome to a world of bloody evolution
Steve, Natasha, Sam, and Clint were then shown with their hero symbols along with Team RWBY's.
In time, your heart will open minds
A story will be told
All of the main and side heroes from both franchises were then shown, before ending with Ruby spinning her scythe and Steve throwing his shield.
And victory is in a simple soul
Beacon Academy
The next morning, the Avengers were scattered throughout the academy while avoiding contact with the students who were in their last school day before summer vacation. Sam and Natasha went to the library to learn more about Remnant, Clint was practicing his remarkable marksmanship outside because it was empty, and Steve was in a training room.
Steve, who was in training pants and a sleeveless shirt, sets up the punching bag that was laying around on the floor and oddly made out of light steel. He wrapped his hands with a tape to act as punching gloves. He then readied his fists and stance before punching the bag with rapid succession, slowly increasing his strength with every strike.
As an hour went by, Steve was hitting the bag harder than before unknowingly. He was beginning to damage the bag like before. Unbeknownst to him, the training room's door was slightly open. He was too focused on hitting the punching bag to notice the open door.
"Who is in the gym at this hour?" Glynda asked curiously.
Glynda entered the training room out of curiosity. She was surprised to find Steve Rogers in an intense training session. She was shocked at the state of the punching bag because not everybody could dent a steel punching bag without feeling the pain yet she could see that Steve didn't feel any pain due to concentration.
Steve kept hitting the bag as he started to have a relapse once again, but it wasn't about the war this time. He was having a relapse about his journey from meeting and fighting alongside with The Avengers, his time working as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Operative in numerous missions that he always questioned, meeting Sam Wilson for the first time, and the reformation and division of the team after the Lagos incident. He was grunting as his rage increased after a negative memory re-emerged about him jamming his shield at Tony's arc reactor chest plate because he was defending his best friend from him. He snapped back out of reality before delivering a devastating punch at the steel bag which went flying and embedded itself on the wall. It also had a huge dent on the front.
'Amazing…' Glynda was amazed by Steve's strength, but worried about him at the same time due to his sudden outburst.
After Steve recollected his coolness, he realized that Professor Ozpin wouldn't be happy that he practically destroyed a school property because of his relapses. He groaned at himself before walking towards the punching bag to remove it. As soon as he pulled it off effortlessly, the wall was repairing itself while it was glowing with purple, making it seems the huge crack never happened in the first place.
Steve looked back and saw Glynda flicking her wand to fix the wall, "Ms. Goodwitch. I hope you didn't see all of that."
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I did." Glynda answered while smirking, much to Steve's slight embarrassment. "I must say, you're quite an impressive specimen, Mr. Rogers. You managed to damage that steel punching bag without any Aura nor Semblance though I could tell that something disturbed you at the end."
Steve sighed, "It's that obvious, huh."
"It really was." Glynda then approached the super soldier. "I'm a teacher. I have some experience with my students who have trouble hiding their emotions. So tell me, Mr. Rogers. What troubles you?"
"A lot of things. And I prefer you call me Steve, Ms. Goodwitch. I'm not good with formalities." Steve answered.
Glynda chuckled, "Then please call me Glynda respectfully."
"So, what can I help you with, Ms. Goo-I mean Glynda?" Steve asked.
"I entered the gym because someone was using it. And I found you instead." Glynda answered. "After that last display, what troubles you, Mr. R-Steve?"
Steve slowly removes the tapes off his hands, "There's a lot of things in my mind, especially the current situation of my world. I take it that you may be going the same thing as well?"
"You aren't wrong, Steve." Glynda answered truthfully, taking a seat on a bench with Steve. "It's been on my mind since yesterday. We have yet to discover the existence of extraterrestrial beings, compared to your universe. And there are other realities that are significantly superior compared to ours. It's honestly both fascinating and crazy."
"Really? You essentially train teenagers to become heroes. It must've been stressful." Steve said.
Glynda sighed, "Yeah, the stress you're going to experience soon."
"Oh yeah, the offer." Steve said.
"You're still thinking about it? You don't have to accept it, you know." Glynda said.
"Well, it isn't something we can refuse, ma'am." Steve said whimsically.
"I kind of understand your position, Steve." Glynda said with an empathetic expression. "When I found out about the secrets of this world, I wasn't sure what to do. I can either walk away and ignore everything or become part of something bigger than myself for the greater good. I won't stand on the sidelines when I can help the new generations of Huntsmen and Huntresses in combating against the darkness."
Steve gave her a comforting smile, "It seems you aren't really strict, Glynda. You're just putting on that demeanor because you care about the students."
Glynda blushed from the compliment, "Thanks, I guess."
Steve stood up, "After hearing that, I don't think we can refuse the offer, not that we would've anyway."
In a library, Natasha was scanning through the books to know more about the world of Remnant. The students in the library don't recognize her, but considering she is allowed to roam around freely means she is a very important person. As Natasha sat down on the table, her best friend greeted her.
"Hey, how you doin'?" Clint joined in with her.
"Nothing much. I'm just… gathering some information to pass the time, I guess." Natasha answered while flipping a page. "Where's Sam?"
"Repairing his wingsuit." Clint answered before pulling out a book he picked earlier. "The gears were a bit rundown, he said. The next time he flies that thing, he might fall from the sky."
Natasha chuckled, "Wouldn't be the first time seeing someone fall from the sky."
"Can't say the same thing." Clint was inside the building, groaning in pain when Iron Man was falling from the sky after his friend closed the wormhole during the Battle of New York, so he couldn't witness that. "You okay?"
"I suppose." Natasha answered before sighing. "I'm just… worried about my family. They have no idea that I literally disappeared from the face of the Earth. One of them, particularly Yelena, is going to look for me eventually."
"And probably try to assassinate Zola. That's not going to end very well." Clint said. "Don't worry, Nat. We'll find a way back home soon. I'm worried about my family as well. They probably think that I'm dead."
Natasha smirked, "They'll probably know you're alive, considering you have your old stuff with you."
"I guess so. The only problem is whether this would affect my sentence." Clint had a three year sentence of house arrest. He's worried that he may have to be imprisoned once he returns due to his disappearance. "Whatever. The important thing is getting back home."
Natasha smiled before looking back at the book, "Hey, have you read some information about the Creatures of Grimm?"
"Just a few." Clint said. "I don't know if it's confirmed to exist or not, but there's a Grimm called 'Chill' where it is capable of possessing both humans and faunus alike. It reminded me of the time I was brainwashed by Loki." [1]
"That's from the book, Fairy Tales of Remnant. I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist… hopefully." Natasha expressed her disbelief about the existence of that Grimm.
"Well, Thor was a myth and he became a team member of our superhero squad." Clint pointed out. "Some fairy tales are bound to be real."
"Hey guys," Sam called out to them, as the students whispered to the rude man.
Natasha chuckled, "What is it, Sam?"
"Professor Ozpin wants our presence in the office." Sam answered quietly after remembering that he's in a library.
Back to Steve and Glynda, the professor received a message from Ozpin on her scroll. She widened her eyes with the slightly good news that Qrow told Ozpin.
"Steve, we better go to Professor Ozpin's office." Glynda said.
"Why? Did something happen?" Steve asked worriedly.
"Something did happen. Qrow has located one of your missing people from Earth." Glynda said, which surprised Steve. "He goes by the name of Scott Lang, I believe."
"Ant-Man." Steve remembered Scott's hero name.
"Ant-Man? Really?" Glynda questioned the codename because it sounds ridiculous. "Anyway, we better head there. I'm sure Mr. Wilson, Ms. Romanoff, and Mr. Barton are already there." [2]
In Ozpin's office, all the heroes were already gathered while staring at the green holographic map from the headmaster's table. As Captain America and Glynda Goodwitch entered the headmaster's office, Sam and Natasha silently teased him before the meeting began.
"Let's begin the meeting, shall we?" Ozpin said before pressing a button which showed a red highlight of an unknown town and a red dot following someone. "This town that you're seeing is Hollow Town. It's a rundown town in Mistral. And that red dot is Qrow. He discovered that one of your members was in that town after gathering some information."
"Okay, but why isn't he going after him?" Sam asked while raising his eyebrow. "He could meet up with tic-tac the same way he met with Barton."
"Unfortunately, he is preoccupied right now. He is currently following an individual, who has an unfathomable power, to protect them. This is why you, Avengers, are on a mission to retrieve your member." Ozpin answered.
"Not that I don't want to go, but wouldn't it make sense to send one of us instead of the whole squad to retrieve him?" Clint pointed out the obvious. "Something tells me that this mission isn't about retrieving the tiny man, isn't it?"
Ozpin chuckled, "You're quick on the nose, Mr. Barton. And you're right, it isn't just about retrieving him." A holographic map highlighted a location from the same continent. "An injured huntsman sent me to this location. From what he described, it seems that this is a camp for the infamous terrorist faunus gang."
"The White Fang." Natasha said before taking a closer look at the location.
"That is right. They're camping near Shion Village. The residents of the village are in danger with them around because they're susceptible to fear, which will eventually lead to a Grimm attack." Ozpin said.
"That's not going to happen." Steve refused to see innocent people die because some terrorist gang inflicted fear on them. "What do we know about the White Fang? We need more information if we're going to infiltrate their base."
"The White Fang were once a peaceful activist organization created to improve relations between humans and faunus and improve the civil rights of the latter. They began to adopt more and more radical methods after their peaceful approach failed." Black Widow answered, remembering the book she read about them.
"They despise humans. If they're going to threaten the Shion Village, then it's likely they will." Sam said. "They're not going to negotiate with humans like us."
"And I encountered these guys before." Clint said, as everyone stared at him by what he meant. "On the streets of Vale City, I encountered them a few days ago. They were stealing Dust. They must be using it for something, and something tells me it isn't good."
"That settled it then. Sam, you need to find Scott somewhere in Mistral while me, Nat, and Clint infiltrate their camp quietly. A full frontal assault isn't going to work when there's a lot of these guys." Steve gave an order to the three of them.
"Understood, captain." Sam, Natasha, and Clint agreed with the plan.
"A simple yet effective plan. Impressive." Glynda complimented the captain's leadership.
"May I ask if there's a faster method to reach Mistral? I don't think we won't be able to save those villagers in time if we travel with The Ship." Steve asked.
"Fortunately, we have." Ozpin then stood from his seat. "We have a Beacon Airship in the hanger. You may use it. Do any of you know how to fly it?"
"I can." Clint answered.
"Alright, team. Suit up." Steve ordered them.
The four of them went into their private locker room to gear up for the incoming fight. Steve wore his tactical gear suit before reluctantly grabbing the shield, Natasha equipped her electroshock weapons and electric batons, Sam wore his propulsion wingsuit and equipped his twin guns, and Clint armed himself with his makeshift bow and Dust Arrows. When the Avengers exited the school and made their way towards the hanger, the students were staring at them curiously. They presumably thought that they were huntsmen and huntresses, but wondered why they were in the school premise. They shrugged it off as they're preoccupied with their class. They couldn't wait for the school to end next week.
Shion Village
Somewhere near the village, the radical faunus terrorist group known as "White Fang" were camping in the forest. There were numerous crates of Dust piling together, makeshift firearms laying around, and few human villagers who were imprisoned in thorny cages. They've been terrorizing the villagers for few days now, but they'll have to move soon after the Huntsman escaped from their grasped and probably alerted nearby Huntsmen.
"Has our ship arrived?" Jackal, the leader of this particular group, asked his assistant.
"Not yet, sir." Kilgo answered.
"Damn it. Those damn humans are going to capture or kill us sooner or later. We must move quickly." Jackal said while gritting his teeth before glaring at the caged humans. "What about the other villagers? Are they escaping?"
Kilgo sneered, "It's as if they're foolish enough to do so. Our men would kill those humans if they ever think about escaping us."
Jackal chuckled, "We're going to kill them anyway. Why should we spare their lives?"
"Bastard!" A middle-aged human prisoner insulted the leader.
"Says the one who enjoys discriminating the faunus kind." Jackal insulted back.
"I'm not like those humans who discriminate against them, same with the villagers! We believed in equality!" The prisoner denied that they despised faunus.
Jackal leaped towards the prisoner and growled at him, "I used to believe in equality as well… until my sister was shot in the head by humans. Don't spout bullcrap words, human. We know your kind."
"And you think by killing humans would make them treat you as an equal!? You're only proving their point that you're nothing but animals!" A young woman, who is one of the prisoners, pointed out angrily.
Jackal rocked her cage roughly, "You know nothing about us. Also, why should we force humans to be equal to us!? We're superior to them! They should be beneath us or… should be extinct if they don't agree."
"Y-!"
"Sir!" A member, who is a mouse faunus, ran towards his boss while panting from exhaustion. "An aircraft landed nearby! It seems that the huntsmen have arrived."
"Blasted! How many of them!?" Jackal asked angrily while clenching his hands. He didn't expect them to arrive so soon.
"I'm unsure, sir. But one of them was… flying in the air… probably to look for our camp." The mouse faunus answered while shivering in fear due to the presence of Jackal.
"Flying? What are you t-! Forget it. We need to arm ourselves." Jackal then stared at all the members. "Men, we're going to kill some huntsmen. No matter how many there are, they're no match for the might of the White Fang!"
"HAAAA!" All the members cheered.
On the other side of the forest, Captain America and Black Widow were walking across the forest on the front quietly while Hawkeye followed them from the back as he had to focus his eyesight on potential danger. Falcon left recently to find Ant-Man somewhere, though it's going to take a while.
Black Widow turned on the holographic map on her wrist, "It seems that their camp is just across us."
Captain America nodded, "All right. Barton, you need to find the tallest tree and be our eyes once we reach close to their base. We need it."
"Understood, Ca-" Hawkeye didn't finish his sentence, as he quickly drew the bowstring with a non-lethal arrow and shot something behind him.
Captain America and Black Widow went into their fighting stance immediately until they heard a quiet thud. Hawkeye signaled them to move forward while he checked the unknown attacker. As he went closer, an unconscious faunus was laying on the ground with an arrow on her neck.
"It seems that the White Fang knows that we're here, Cap." Hawkeye informed the captain through the comms before slowly pulling out the arrow from her neck. "It looks like stealth mode difficulty has increased."
"Are they alive?" Steve asked about the unconscious attacker.
"She's fine. She's just unconscious. I just shot her with a tranquilizer arrow." Hawkeye answered before looking at his arrow. "It seems that her Aura activated too late. If I shot her a bit too slow, the arrow would've been useless against her. She would've alerted her friends about our current location."
"I almost forgot about their soul armor. It's going to be tricky fighting them." Black Widow said before sighing.
"It doesn't matter. We need to save those villagers." Steve said. "Also, we faced worse."
"Please don't remind me of Ultron. I still felt guilty about being unable to save him." Hawkeye felt guilty that he couldn't save Peitro Maximoff, the twin brother of Wanda whom he personally treated like a daughter to owe his savior, which was one of the reasons he aided Captain America during a civil war.
"It wasn't your fault, Clint." Black Widow reassured her best friend.
"Quiet down, guys. We're near the path." Captain America then hid behind a bush before looking to his right. "And it seems that's the village. It's heavily guarded by the faunus in the front. We can't cross."
"That's going to be difficult." Hawkeye said before staring at Black Widow. "Nat, you can take them down quietly, right? Should you take the lead?"
"As long as their Aura isn't activating when I do my thing, then probably." Black Widow is unsure whether her stealth takedowns would work against the faunus, but she'll have to try.
Black Widow walked towards the guards stealthily while hiding behind the trees and bushes. There's a high chance that their Semblance is detecting nearby enemies, but she isn't going to wait and find out when there lives on the line. As she reached the village and hid behind one of the houses, she lured the other guard in a different location by simply throwing a stone at the houses.
"What was that?" The wolf faunus asked after hearing the sound.
"Probably a mouse… or the huntsmen." The chameleon faunus answered. "Why don't you check it out?"
"Alright."
As the wolf faunus walked towards the direction of the sound, Black Widow sneaked behind the chameleon faunus without making any footsteps and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. The chameleon faunus was struggling to escape from the hold and attempted to call for the other faunus, but to no avail as he went unconscious instantly. The spy hero then dragged the faunus behind the houses.
The wolf faunus turned back, "Well, I don't see any- Kamo? Where are you?"
The wolf faunus equipped himself with a claw gauntlet that can shoot miniature bullets from the knuckles. She sniffed for her missing friend cautiously. As she was about to make her way behind the house, Black Widow appeared behind her and zapped her with her Widow Bite, incapacitating the wolf faunus.
"Well, that was easy." Black Widow said until she heard a sound behind her. She immediately aimed her electroshock weapon at an unknown person behind her, which slightly spooked them.
"Woah, take it easy." The unknown person, who was a villager of Shion, raised his hand.
Black Widow sighed before lowering her weapon, "Please don't ever try to sneak up on me. Where are the other villagers?"
The person stood up slowly and pointed his fingers behind him, as the villagers were showing themselves slowly and cautiously. Black Widow noticed that most of them have scars and bruises on their bodies, especially the children. She was disgusted that the White Fang were cold and heartless because of humans when they're basically doing the same thing.
"It's alright. I'm not a threat." Black Widow reassured everyone.
"Are you a… Huntress?" A little boy asked curiously.
"I think so…" Black Widow wasn't sure whether she was officially a Huntress or not. She then kneeled in front of the boy. "Can you point me in the direction of the bad men's camp?"
The little boy pointed at the right, "There."
"Thank you." Black Widow expressed her thanks before standing up. "We're going to infiltrate their base quietly. You guys need to arm yourselves in case the situation went south."
"Will you be okay?" An elderly woman asked worriedly. "The previous Huntsmen never stood a chance against them."
"Don't worry about us." Black Widow reassured them before pulling out two glocks. "We deal with situations like this all the time."
"Us?" The little girl questioned.
Black Widow smirked, "The Avengers."
In the forest, the faunus terrorists were roaming around to find the damn huntsmen. Captain America and Black Widow were sneaking past them while Hawkeye was climbing on top of a tree. They managed to arrive at the camp where they saw injured humans in cages while there were multiple faunus guarding them.
"What should we do, Cap?" Black Widow asked.
"Draw their attention." Captain America answered before putting his finger on the comms. "Barton, do you have any trick arrows that can produce… loud sounds?"
"Yeah, I do." Hawkeye answered over the comms before pulling out the arrow that the captain described. "A concussion blast arrow."
A second later, a loud shockwave can be heard from the distance. A lot of faunus went towards the direction of the sound, leaving only a small number of guards near the cages. As Captain America and Black Widow walked behind them, the prisoners spotted them and were about to yell before Black Widow shushed them with her finger.
"Quiet." Black Widow whispered to the prisoners.
"Our apologies." The middle-aged prisoner apologized on the behalf of his people.
A few seconds later, Captain America and Black Widow executed stealth takedowns on some of the faunus. They'll have to be careful on who they'll knock unconscious because there's a positive that they're a ticking time bomb whenever they're asleep or something. They then hid the unconscious bodies before making their way back to the cages.
"Are you guys alright?" Captain America asked worriedly while opening the cages quietly with his superhuman strength.
"We're fine." The middle-aged prisoner answered while groaning in pain and spitting a small amount of blood. "It has been a hellish week."
"Yeah, these monsters invaded us without any warning. There was a lot of Grimm for the past week, but they kept them in bay as long as we're 'willing' to cooperate with them." The young woman was going to burst into tears any time. She has been enduring the pain and suffering for the past week.
"I'm sorry this happened to you. I know the feeling of being tortured." Black Widow shared her pain, even though hers is much worse than the woman's. [3]
"We're going to converse later. Right now, can you tell us where the boss is?" Captain America asked the prisoners. "By taking out the boss, his men should be able to retreat out of fear."
"I think so. He's probably in that abandoned cabin further away." The middle-aged prisoner pointed in the direction of the cabin.
"Alright. Natasha, escort the hostages back to the village safely and hold the fort there." Captain America ordered her. "I'll go pursue the leader alone."
"Are you sure, Steve? We don't know what the leader is capable of. He probably has a Semblance that can kill you with one touch." Black Widow pointed out worriedly.
"I'll be fine. I got Barton with me." Captain America reassured his friend confidently.
"You better hurry, Nat. Because the men I distracted earlier are returning to your location." Hawkeye said over the comms.
"Copy that." Black Widow responded. She nodded at the captain before escorting the prisoners back to the village.
"Now, Barton. You must keep moving in the trees. I need your eyes." Captain America said before running towards the leader's location.
"Copy that, Cap." Hawkeye responded before jumping across the trees roughly, causing him to groan. "Ow..."
Inside the abandoned cabin, Jackal was tapping his desk rapidly out of impatience. He hasn't heard any reports from his men about the huntsmen. He wondered if it was a false alarm from the mouse faunus. Kilgo, on the other hand, was patient and working on the documents as well as writing a report to the main leader of the operation.
"You must remain calm, boss." Kilgo said before dipping the feather in the ink bottle. "Your impatience will lead to anxiety and anger which will lead to attracting the Grimm."
"I know that!" Jackal slammed his fists on the desk. "I don't want to fail this mission because of damn humans! You remember how that girl, Ilia, was punished by him after failing to steal Dust a few days ago?"
Kilgo nodded, "It wasn't something I wanted to see."
"And this is why I'm impa-!" Jackal was interrupted when his telescroll was ringing, much to his delight. "Finally! Hello?"
"Sir! The prisoners have escaped!"
"WHAT!?" Jackal stood up immediately. "Who let them out!?"
"I don't know, sir, but we also found the guards unconscious near the bushes. It seems that somebody has infiltrated our base sneakily."
"So that's why you fools haven't reported to me anything yet!" Jackal insulted his men before slamming his telescroll on the table. "These huntsmen used stealth instead of a full frontal attack!? They're different."
"Sir, they're probably heading this way." Kilgo said calmly. "Should I use my Semblance to find them?"
"Do it." Jackal approved. "I want to see them suffer when I get my hands on them."
Kilgo used his Semblance to locate the intruders. His Semblance is called Echolocation. He has the ability to locate distant or invisible enemies by sound waves. He was locating numerous sound waves from the faunus and animals, but he solely focused on detecting the unfamiliar sound waves from the intruders. After detecting them, he realized their current location.
"They're here!" Kilgo exclaimed.
"What!?" Jackal yelled.
Suddenly, a shield bursted through the wooden walls. Jackal dodged out of the way, but Kilgo got hit by a shield causing him to be sent flying into another wall. As he was on the floor groaning from the pain, the shield ricocheted back to the one who threw it. Jackal stood back up before pulling out his battle axe from the floor.
"Who goes there!?" Jackal demanded an immediate answer.
"Hello, Steve Rogers." Captain America introduced himself politely.
"Steve Rogers?" Jackal raised his eyebrow before observing him. "What the hell are you wearing? And why're you wearing a mask? I can look at your info, you know."
"Unfortunately, I have no records of existence in this world." Captain America said before resuming his fighting stance. "In this world, I'm a mere nobody. And I'm going to stop you from torturing innocent humans."
"…you underestimate me huh, bastard?" Jackal was chuckling like a maniac.
As Jackal ran towards Captain America, he leaped into the air while his axe was covered in some kind of black cloud. He attempted to slam the axe on Captain America, but the patriotic hero dodged out of the way. He then swung the axe rapidly while Captain America was dodging left and right while blocking the attack at the same time. He heavily swings his axe on the side, but Captain America fell on the floor and kicked the axe causing the weapon to flung from his hands and stick itself on the ceiling.
"Grr. That was impressive for a human." Jackal said before recalling the axe in his hand. "But you're underestimating me too much. Why don't you use your Semblance?"
"I couldn't even if I wanted to." Captain America answered.
"Is that so? Whatever." Jackal said, as his axe was turned into a shotgun. "Prepare to die!"
As Jackal fired rounds of bullets, Captain America rolled out of the way and hid behind the desk. Jackal kept firing at the desk until it was destroyed piece by piece. Captain America waited for the ammunition to run out while crouching behind the desk. When the shotgun ran out of ammo, Jackal was about to reload it until he was kicked in his snout by the hero.
"Gah!" Jackal was sent flying into a wall, causing a crack in the wood.
Captain America walked towards the jackal faunus calmly, "Not today."
As Captain America was about to cuff Jackal for his crimes, he was suddenly sent flying through the ceiling by an unexpected energy blast. He then landed back on the cabin with a rough landing. He saw Kilgo, who endured the pain he received earlier, standing in front of him with an energy pistol in his hand.
"You didn't expect that, did you?" Kilgo then pointed the pistol at the hero. "It is wise to surrender. You wouldn't want to trade your worthless life now."
Captain America stood up slowly before spitting a small blood from his mouth, "I can do this all day." [4]
"Idiot. Your optimism and hubris killed you." Kilgo was about to execute Captain America with the advanced firearm until an arrow struck his hand, causing him to release the weapon. "Gack!"
"What? You didn't see that coming?" Captain America asked teasingly. [5]
Kilgo groaned, "Damn you."
"Kilgo!" Jackal then pulled out his scroll, "Men! Where the hell are you, punks!? Come and help us!"
"We're on our way, si-GAH!" An explosion can be heard from the scroll and outside of the cabin.
"The hell!?" Jackal exclaimed.
"I didn't come alone, you know." Captain America then picks up his shield from the floor.
Outside, Hawkeye was standing on top of a tree. He was thirty feet away from the cabin, but he could still see it like a hawk. There were numerous White Fang members making their way towards the cabin, but he kept shooting them unexpectedly with normal arrows while causing an explosion with trick arrows.
"Where the hell is he!?"
"Probably on top of the trees!"
"Busted, but you'll have to reach me first." Hawkeye whispered to himself before slowly pulling the bowstring and aiming the tranquilizer arrow at another faunus. It was a successful shot yet again.
"Damn it. Buster, get that human!"
"I'm coming!"
"It seems that his Semblance is probably super strength or something similar." Hawkeye analyzed the brute faunus before pulling out another trick arrow. "This should do the trick. No pun intended."
As Hawkeye released the arrow on one target, it produced electricity. It electrocuted the target, along with other members and the brute when it spreaded towards them. The White Fang were bewildered by such ridiculousness that a simple arrow could defeat their best fighters easily, unbeknownst to them that the enemy's arrows were faster than regular arrows.
Kuchinashi City
Kuchinashi is a city in the Kingdom of Mistral. It is located to the south of the main City of Mistral. It is the home of every pirate, brigand, assassin, thief, vagabond, creature of the night and evil-doer for hundreds of miles around. Scott Lang stumbled across the city after asking for direction from the tiny general in a bottle.
"So this is the city of thieves?" Scott questioned.
"Are you underestimating my sense of direction? I've been traveling around, escorting the mayor to his destination!" Louis said angrily.
"All right, all right. You have anger issues." Scott pointed out before putting the general in his pocket.
Janet appeared visibly in front of him, "Are you sure about this, Scott? I have a bad feeling about this place."
"I have to. I don't have any… 'Lien' to travel on a ship. I have to illegally travel to Vale." Scott answered while walking inside the city. "And by doing that, I need a criminal to guide me."
"Yeah, but how're you gonna negotiate with them?" Janet asked. "You don't have anything to give them in return."
Scott took out both shrinking and growth disks, "Well, I got these. I hope you don't mind."
"I don't, but it's risky. For one, you have limited disks right now. You need them for a potential fight." Janet said worriedly. "Secondly, you don't have any materials to make more of these. And then thirdly, there may be some people who'll replicate my husband's invention and weaponize it for their own benefits."
Scott looked at the disks, "Yeah, you're right. But if we're going to Vale, then we'll have no choice."
"Why are we going to Vale anyway?" Janet asked curiously. "Is there something important there?"
"You could say that." Scott answered. "Nina told me a few days ago about the headmaster of Beacon Academy. She told me about a rumor that the headmaster has been roaming around Remnant for hundreds of years. There's a possibility that he has an answer for our situation… I hope."
"Alright, your call then." Janet said. "Just be cautious. You can't trust anyone here."
"Oh right, you were an agent before." Scott remembered that the original Wasp was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. "Well, don't worry. I will be."
While exploring the city, Scott found the atmosphere of the place to be gloomy and surrounded with fog, though there are bright neon lights everywhere that make it up. He was being glared at by the residents, but he mostly ignored it because he didn't want any trouble. He certainly didn't want the tiny general to yell for help either, so he shook the bottle violently until he was knocked unconscious before entering the city earlier. He found it fascinating that the city bears resemblance to Japan because of the Torii Gate which is the entrance to the Central Strip. As he continued to explore in hopes to find someone for illegal travels, someone stood in front of him while he wasn't looking.
"Hey, who are you?" The unknown young man demanded Scott an answer. "I've never seen you around here before."
"I'm just passing by. I mean you no harm." Scott answered while raising his hands to signal that he is harmless. "I am Scott Lang. You are-?"
"Alabaster. I'm the sheriff around these parts." Alabaster answered before walking closer towards the newcomer cautiously. "My apologies for having suspicions on you. Managing the city is already hard, especially when those bunch of troublemakers, Team SAFR caused a ruckus years ago." [6]
"It's okay." Scott forgave the sheriff who then walked away to continue his patrol the city while he was having a shiver due to the memories of being arrested by the cops. "That was a close one. I do look suspicious though, considering I am wearing a disguise cloak over my Ant-Man outfit."
"We need to keep moving. I can't stand staying in this place. It's too suspicious." Janet said worriedly due to her instincts where she had to disguise herself as a thief during her time as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
After roaming around the city, Scott couldn't find anyone to illegally transport him to Vale. He decided to enter a tavern called "The Skillful" where it is known as a resting lounge for huntsmen and where they find illegal activities to get pay. The only problem is that he doesn't have a huntsman license, but the owner of the tavern should be aware of the Vanishing Bandit from Hollow Town. His secondary aliases are basically everywhere, even in Kuchinashi. Once he entered the tavern, the Huntsmen and Huntresses were glaring at him suspiciously before continuing what they're doing.
"Welcome to the Skillful." Opal, a former huntress and the owner of the tavern, greeted the miniature hero. "Do you have a Huntsman License?"
"Uh… no…?" Scott answered, as everyone raised their eyebrows on him. "But I have something better."
Opal scoffed, "If you're talking about bribery, we don't accept it here. The door's behind you."
"No, no, no, no. It isn't bribery." Scott walked towards the tavern owner while the huntsmen and huntresses readied their weapons with caution. He then whispered to her ear to avoid anyone from hearing it. He just hopes that Opal is smart enough to hide his identity. "I am the Vanishing Bandit, but the minority may call me Ant-Man."
Opal widened her eyes from the sudden declaration about the famous Vanishing Bandit in Mistral Kingdom. Her expression explains that she doesn't believe what this unknown, suspicious person said. She then saw a glimpse of his outfit which perfectly matched the description of his appearance. She whispered back to him. "So you're indeed the Vanishing Bandit?"
Scott nodded, "But I prefer if you call me Scott or Ant-Man."
"Hmm. Very well. You're allowed to stay in my tavern just this once." Opal agreed to let Hollow Town's Hero stay in the tavern for now, which piqued the huntsmen's curiosity of the reason why. "So tell me, Mr. Scott. What brings you here in Kuchinashi?"
"I… I need someone to transport me to Vale City… illegally." Scott answered her. "Do you know someone?"
"Sure, I know someone." Opal doesn't know why Ant-Man wants to be in Vale right now, but it must be important judging by his expression. "But it's going to cost you a lot of Lien. It isn't cheap to transport someone to Vale illegally. Do you have enough?"
"Well, I hope so. I earned some during my time in Hollow Town." Scott answered, though the 'earning' part was more of 'stealing from a corrupted mayor'. "Anyway, I need to get there urgently. Is it possible to travel tonight?"
"Sure, but you're going to deal with his bad te-" Opal stayed quiet immediately once she and everyone felt a vibration everywhere. This wasn't a random earthquake considering the intense magnitude which means that the threat once again arrived in the city. All of the Huntsmen and Huntresses immediately exited in the tavern once the threat arrived. "Grimm."
"A Grimm attack? Already?" Scott recently just arrived in Kuchinashi yet there's already a monster invasion. He doesn't know whether some cosmic entity is deliberately placing him in the most stressful events like the civil war between heroes or the depressing incident in Hollow Town. "Does this mean that the transport is going to be delayed?"
"If you help the city defend against the Grimm, then I'll convince the person to transport you for free." Opal said before continuing to clean the glasses with a new clean towel. "Sounds like a nice deal, right?"
Scott sighed before walking towards the door, "Well, that's the life of a superhero. I'm going to fight the Grimm now."
Once Scott exited the tavern, he dropped the cloak to reveal his superhero outfit while chaos was ensuing everywhere. There were several Grimm causing mayhem and several Huntsmen and Huntresses that were fighting them. There were numerous corpses of both Grimm and Huntsmen on the ground which reminds him that the idea of a superhero isn't filled with cookies and rainbows that he and his daughter, Cassie, always talked about. A Beowulf unexpectedly jumped in front of him, which snapped him back to reality.
"It looks like I'm going to disappear for a while, Scott." Janet doesn't want to interrupt the new Ant-Man with his fight, so she's going to stay silent until the objective is finished. She then faded away like a ghost, even though she isn't one.
"See you later, Ms. van Dyne." Scott then pressed the button near the helmet to activate it before confronting the Grimm in front of him. "Now then, ugly. Let's see what you got."
*Playing 'Ant-Man Theme' by Christopher Beck*
When the Beowulf launched itself towards Ant-Man, preparing to slash him. Ant-Man, however, shrank himself to avoid the attack which surprised Grimm by the sudden act of disappearance. When it turned around to sniff for its enemy, its entire body suddenly exploded and the cause of that emerged in its normal size. Ant-Man landed back on the ground, wiping off the black goo that covered his suit, while the Grimm he internally exploded died instantly. He then shrank down and called upon a flying ant to fly towards the chaos.
In the Lower Valley, the criminals who were dealing with shady business in the area were fighting against the Grimm to defend their criminal activity. The Hana Guild, a group of criminals who sell narcotics and weapons, also aided the others to protect their guild. Suddenly, a couple of the Grimm disappeared after some kind of disks made contact with them. Ant-Man then appeared in front of the criminals who were about to die from Beringel. He shrunk down once again to deliver a painful attack at its face like a speeding bullet before decapitating it. He then proceeds to execute the same thing to the other Beringels as well as Beowulfs.
"Hey, guys. How's business?" Ant-Man asked, which left the criminals confused. He was aware that they're conducting illegal activities, but he tried to diffuse the tension which he does a terrible job in doing it.
Ant-Man proceeded to head towards the next location once the Lower Valley was starting to calm due to the experience of huntsmen and criminals around the area. He went to the Upper Cliffs which is the residential area for ordinary civilians and criminals. There were several Boarbatusks running around rampage. There were only a few huntsmen in the area, which resulted in numerous casualties everywhere. Ant-Man ran towards them, which alerted the Boarbatusks as they proceeded to run towards the hero.
Considering a Boarbatusk's upper body is armored, he'd have to shrink them but he doesn't have any enough shrinking disks left, only growing ones. He'd have no choice but to shrink and get inside all of them one by one to regrow inside of them. He proceeded to execute the most disgusting action ever, which killed several of them, but was covered in black goo again as a result. Once he went back to his normal size, he was attacked by both Beowulf and Beringel which caught him off guard. As both of them run towards him and prepare to strike at him, Ant-Man dodges their attacks thanks to his hand combat training by Hope. He then knocked them out by shrinking at a size of an ant and delivering the tiniest yet painful punch.
"Are you guys… alright?" Ant-Man asked the injured villagers and huntsmen while gasping for air after forgetting to breathe when he shrank.
An injured villager groaned before nodding, "We're fine, Vanishing Bandit! Go help the others!"
"Okay, I'm going to leave you now." Ant-Man was about to shrink before turning back at the villager. "Oh, my name is Ant-Man by the way. Vanishing Bandit is what the people of Hollow Town call me."
Meanwhile, Falcon was searching for Ant-Man through the skies. He isn't sure whether it's a good idea to leave his teammates alone to fight the White Fang, but considering they've been fighting the Chitauri for a couple of hours without any rest, he reassured himself that they'll be fine. He was just slightly frustrated that he hasn't found tic-tac yet since he wants to join the fight as well.
"Where are you tic-tac? You better not be in trouble." Falcon said to himself before boosting his wingsuit towards the location. He then saw Redwing coming from reconnaissance. As the drone went back to his wingsuit, he could see the drone's memory. He widened his eyes when Kuchinashi was currently overrun with the Creatures of Grimm though it was much more contained than Crystal Town, but there were still more casualties. "It looks like I'm going to head that way. I hope you're there, tic-tac."
Back to Ant-Man, he continuously dodged several attacks from the Creatures of Grimm. It was slightly difficult utilizing his hand-to-hand combat skills when his enemies aren't humans or superhumans. He couldn't risk activating his colossal size, whom he called Giant-Man because of the pun, due to the fact his stamina would decrease exponentially. He isn't used to it yet because of the lack of training with it. He also didn't pack any orange slices with him right now, so that there's nothing that'll prevent him from staying awake. Anyway, he could only defeat the Grimm by shrinking and going inside them so that they'll die from internal explosion when he becomes normal size. He knows that it sounds dirty once he says something like that, but that's not important right now.
Suddenly, Scott heard people screaming for help from above. A Nevermore was carrying hostages on its talons, probably for the Grimm to enjoy with their toys. He needed to think to find a way to reach the giant bird Grimm fast, but he was interrupted when a giant Cenitaur emerged from the ground. It was spitting corrosive green acid at him, but Ant-Man dodged all of the attacks rather easily. He also dodged its two bladed arms when it attempted to strike him. He was slightly stressed because the Nevermore was about to leave the city with the hostages. He sighed because he decided to risk using the one thing that'll give him an advantage. His future enemies will also be aware of his giant size, but he'll have to worry about that in the future.
"Alright," Ant-Man took a deep breath before closing his eyes and pressing the left button. When the Cenitaur was about to attack him while he was standing still like an idiot, it was immediately crushed once he became a giant. He then laughed as he did when he became Giant-Man in the airport fight. His current size is 60 feet, which is the same size when he fought Iron Man, War Machine, and Spider-Man.
Both Huntsmen and Grimm stopped their fight for a minute, bewildered by the sight they were seeing. It briefly terrified some of the Creatures of Grimm due to Giant-Man's sheer size, which is ironic to say the least. The Huntsmen and Huntresses knew about the existence of Ant-Man and his ability to shrink down like an ant, but after witnessing his new abilities, they deemed it ridiculous because he shouldn't have more than two Semblances. It's unheard of, but it doesn't matter right now because there are Grimm in their city. Once Giant-Man confronted the Nevermore, the Huntsmen and Grimm continued fighting where they left off.
Ant-Man grabbed the Nevermore's body with ease, "Where do you think you're going?"
The Nevermore screamed with fury at the gigantic hero, feeling frustrated that it is currently being held like a toy when it considered itself one of the hardest Grimm to exist. Once Giant-Man carefully moves the talons away from the hostages, they fall into his giant hands before the hero crushed its head with ease. When Giant-Man placed the hostage on the ground gently, he shifted back to his normal size. He was then feeling dizzy and woozy while the hostages seeked shelter after thanking him. Unexpectedly, he was struck across the street by a Beowulf. He kept rolling on the ground roughly until his body stopped after an impact against a wall. He deactivated his helmet and puked a small amount of blood on the ground.
"O-O-Ow…" Scott was feeling an excruciating pain while his surroundings were wobbling back and forth. He knew it was unwise to use the gigantic form, but he had no choice because those people would've died regardless whether or not they were innocent. Once he sat against the wall, several Creatures of Grimm were surrounding him as he was a threat to them. "Can we just… take a moment please? I'm a bit… tired…?"
All of the Grimm roared at him, meaning that they wouldn't back down in order for the hero to recover. Ant-Man already knew that they wouldn't listen to him. He was just simply joking around to ease himself because he'll probably die. He was going to press the shrinking button, but his arms were too exhausted to move. As the Grimm launched themselves towards the insect hero to devour his current negative emotion which was fear of dying. All of them were shot in the head when someone flew across them, as they lay on the ground lifeless. Ant-Man looked at the skies and saw a familiar face.
"Falcon." Ant-Man was smiling happily that he wasn't the only one in this whole new world, but he isn't sure whether his old ally was a hallucination or not because the effects from the gigantic size still remain.
Falcon flew towards Ant-Man to check on him, "Hey, tic-tac. Are you alright? You aren't looking too good right now."
Ant-Man coughed blood which some of them went to his friend's face, "Sorry about that. I'm honestly glad I'm not the only one in this world."
Falcon wipes off some of the blood in his face before proceeding to give Ant-Man a painkiller and bandages to seal his wounds if he has one, "I'm going to help those people. You stay here and rest, okay?"
"U-Unless there are no Grimm near me, then sure. I could use some rest." Ant-Man took the painkiller before lying down on the ground to recover. He hasn't been resting properly for a few days, so he falls asleep immediately despite the uncomfortable ground and ignoring the noises around him.
As Ant-Man was now resting peacefully, Falcon took to the skies to aid the residents and Huntsmen with his twin guns. Everyone wondered who in the world was the flying bird man. Some of them speculated that he was from Atlas, but his appearance says so otherwise. Whoever he is, they're glad that he is also turning the tides against the Grimm. Meanwhile, Alabaster was suspicious of the newcomer while fighting against the Grimm. He wondered if he is somehow connected to the Vanishing Bandit. He'll arrest them for bringing the Grimm to his city, basically falsely accusing them for the crime they didn't commit, but he has to defend his people from the Creatures of Grimm first.
The fight has been going on for a couple of minutes now. Falcon was rescuing some survivors that are trapped from the debris or neon lights while aiding the remaining Huntsmen and Huntresses that are still alive. He killed a couple of Cenitaurs with his wings, along with the other Grimm, as they are fortunately sharp enough to slice through the Grimm. Once all of the Grimm were killed in the city, the residents and Huntsmen were cheering for him as well as someone who goes by the name of 'Vanishing Bandit'.
The Falcon descended from the skies and landed on the ground. "Vanishing Bandit? I assume that's tic-tac."
"Hold it right there!" Alabaster ordered the hero while his men were following him from behind. "Now, I don't know who you are, but you are under arrest for bringing those monsters to my city."
"Woah, woah! What's with the accusation, sheriff? I didn't bring them here." Falcon doesn't know why he was being accused, but he assumed it was because he suddenly showed up to help with no particular reason from their perspective.
"It doesn't matter. It's too coincidental that they started to invade the city when your friend came along." Alabaster accused Ant-Man as well. "If you resist arrest, then you'll become a wanted man. There'll be a bounty on your head, same goes to your friend right there."
"Sorry, but we have some places to be." When Falcon activated his wingsuit to fly and grabbed the unconscious Ant-Man from the ground, the sheriff's man started to shoot them with their odd weapons. They fell on the ground with multiple injuries after being unexpectedly shot by a drone before it flew back to Falcon. Alabaster stared at them with nothing but anger for bringing the Creatures of Grimm to destroy the city.
"You won't get away with this." Alabaster said.
"You also have a problem with them, I see." An unknown man who was covered in black heavy armor said. "I too share the same feeling."
"Who the heck are you?" Alabaster asked the suspect while slowly getting his weapon from his belt.
"Easy there, sheriff. You said that you'll place a bounty on both of them." The unknown person revealed themselves from the shadows, revealing the skull designs on his heavy armor as well as heavy gauntlets on his hands with a hidden blade on both of them. "The name's Crossbones. I am seeking revenge on the man who ruined my face. I'll be your bounty hunter."
Shion Village
Back in the forest, Captain America was engaging in combat with Jackal while continuously fighting the faunus. Most of White Fang members, including Jackal, don't understand how in the world the human was so strong, as he destroyed their Aura within two to three blows. Jackal was having an extremely hard time fighting against the unknown Huntsman due to his incredible strength, agility, stamina, and durability. He was tired after fighting the super soldier for minutes whilst his opponent didn't show any form of tiredness nor slowing down his attacks. It was the first time he saw how resilient humans are. He was then punched into a tree after making one wrong move with his axe.
"Guh!" Jackal was groaning in pain. He was about to call his men to distract Captain America while he recovers from his external and internal injuries, but most of them were unconscious due to the Huntsman's devastating blows against them and the trick arrows from Hawkeye. He couldn't afford to fail right now for he will certainly be executed by Adam Taurus. He wouldn't be given a second chance like Ilia because nobody would speak for him like how the cat faunus, Blake Belladonna, spoke for Ilia. "I can't afford to give up now."
"Stop. Your injuries will get worse." Captain America attempted to talk his enemy down or he'll die. He may have killed some of his enemies in the past, but it doesn't mean he enjoys it. He was a soldier in a bloodstained war. He doesn't show any hesitation to kill his enemies unless they surrender peacefully. He is offering the radical faunus to surrender, even though there's a risk that he'll probably escape and kill innocent humans.
Jackal spat blood on the ground, "You'll have to kill me, human! I will never surrender to the likes of you! We are the White Fang! We'll bring true peace in this world! No humans will ever discriminate against us!"
"True peace? There is no such thing." Captain America understood that there will never be peace, especially when some of the countries would take the opportunity to invade Wakanda which T'Challa is aware of or when threats kept rising up to challenge the mightiest heroes of Earth. There can never be true peace from both sides, but it doesn't mean they'll have to stay silent about it. "You still have no idea that this world is bigger than you and me. Peace can never be achieved. The war in this world may have come to pass, but chaos is still everywhere. If anything, humans and faunus alike should unite to fight that chaos."
"…you're different from other humans. No matter, it's useless! Humans wouldn't dare to work with animals! We will always be inferior to them! We'll show them that faunus are much more superior than any other race!" Jackal refused to acknowledge the peace between humans and faunus from Captain America due to his revenge mindset of his late sister. He'll never acknowledge the equality between humans and faunus anymore, even if it becomes a norm in the far future. He'll always despise them which is something Adam and the other members of the White Fang shared the same feeling. "You can't stop our goal!"
Jackal forced himself to stand up and rushed towards Captain America who remained standing still. When Jackal swung his axe, Captain America dodged to the side slowly. Jackal was moving slower than usual due to his adrenaline running out, which is one of the reasons why Captain America invoked him so that he'll calm down. Captain America continued to dodge and block the axe without any effort while Jackal was screaming in both agony and anger towards the human. As Jackal was about to use his Semblance whom he was saving for this moment, an arrow flew towards him and tied him up with a rope before he could execute his final move. He fell on the ground, trying to escape from the rope but he doesn't have the strength to do so. Captain America decided to knock him out cold with a kick while Hawkeye dropped down from the tree.
"Nice shot." Captain America complimented the archer.
"Yeah, yeah." Hawkeye appreciated the compliment before seeing Black Widow walking towards them with small amounts of blood covered on her body. "Hey, Nat. Are you alright?"
"Yeah, the blood isn't mine. They were quite persistent so I had to be brutal." Natasha had a difficult time fighting the White Fang members due to their Aura. She couldn't knock them unconscious stealthily because she was spotted, so she had to engage in a physical combat with them. Considering she isn't a super soldier, it was extremely difficult fighting the faunus but she managed to defeat due to her superior skills. Her knuckles were sore and covered with blood, however, due to destroying pieces of their Aura. "So, is it over?"
"It seems so." Clint looked around the vicinity where a bunch of unconscious members of the White Fang were laying. He noticed that some of them were missing, meaning that they escaped, probably to inform the mastermind behind this operation. He then began collecting some of his arrows that he shot to reuse it. "Sam hasn't arrived yet?"
Natasha opened her phone to see a chat message from Sam Wilson, "No, but he is on his way here now. He found Ant-Man. It seems that there was a Grimm attack in Kuchinashi. Sounds Japanese."
"And I assume both of them aided the residents. They're not the type to leave innocent people behind." Steve placed his vibranium shield on his back before cracking his knuckles and stretching his arms. "Come on, let's load some of them back to the airship. The villagers can do whatever they want with the rest."
"Speaking of the villagers, are they alright?" Clint asked his best friend while counting the arrows he collected as well as the ones that are left in his quiver.
"They're fine. They are currently tending to their injuries. They want to express their thanks to us for saving them, even though they're probably going to do it again anyway when we get on the airship." Natasha answered while carrying random two faunus over her shoulders. "So, should we get to it?"
Clint chuckled while placing his arrows back on the quiver before carrying two random faunus as well, "Yeah, let's go. I'm exhausted."
"I'm glad the mission ended with no casualties." Steve was grateful that nobody died of their first mission in Remnant while carrying four faunus without any effort. No casualties are kind of rare during an extreme mission. He and his team proceeded to head back to the airship, leaving some of the unconscious faunus on the ground for the villagers to imprison them and contact the police department or Huntsmen and Huntresses to retrieve them.
Kuchinashi City
Back in Kuchinashi, the remaining Huntsmen and Huntresses were helping the injured civilians with their injuries while the criminals went back into hiding, frustrated that their deal was delayed because of the attack. The lawmen were also aiding the civilians while asking them questions about Ant-Man and the Falcon, but nobody knew about them other than they saved their city. Opal, the owner of the Skillful, doesn't say anything about her conversation with the Vanishing Bandit which would've charged her with aiding a criminal, but Alabaster was against it because nobody was qualified to run the tavern. Opal wonders where Ant-Man is, but she hopes that he is alive. She found the codename weird and ridiculous while cleaning the drinking glasses.
In the police station, Alabaster and Crossbones were having a meeting about the two 'criminals'. Crossbones falsely informs him that they aren't alone because a group known as The Avengers was mainly behind the Grimm attack. He isn't strong enough to take them all out alone, but it doesn't mean he can't apprehend one of them to which the sheriff agreed as he wants to bring them to justice for destroying the 'peace' in the city. He'll expose them to his beloved citizens that they are the causes of the attack while Crossbones that Captain America is in this world so that he can pay him back tenfold. He wondered if fate brought him back to life so that he could enact his revenge against the heroes who ruined his life. If so, he wouldn't waste the second chance he was given.
Meanwhile, an unknown man was leaving the city. He was creeped out by the main entrance because it was a dark cave, which leads into a large archway hanging over them. The entrance has what is called a Mummified Grimm on display which serves as warning signs and trophies of genuinely living Grimm, who are horribly injured to the point of being unable to do anything. He continued to walk out of the cave until he emerged from the darkness. He was an Asian man wearing red clothing made out of dragon scales. He didn't know why he was wearing something he didn't know, but he didn't complain because it protected him from the Grimm. His name was Xu Shang-Chi, the son of the infamous leader of the Ten Rings.
"Those were the Avengers. I am not the only one in this world." Shang-Chi was grateful that he wasn't the only one in this world. He has been spending a few days in Kuchinashi which was hell because the people are not friendly and earning Lien was difficult. He didn't have a Huntsman License, so he couldn't apply for a mission to get some more money. Anyway, he needs to find the Avengers to see if they have answers to the current situation.
Author's Notes:
I apologize for the delay of this chapter. I've been busy because of my other fanfic stories and school. It is difficult balancing them all when you're just one person. The next chapter will be about Shang-Chi, but it won't explore his time for the past few days. It'll just be references. I don't want to spend an entire chapter dedicated to one character. It was hell when doing it with Hawkeye and Ant-Man. It'll take place right after this chapter where he'll bump into an unexpected character.
