A while after they had finished eating, Cameron returned home. Although she had wanted to stay longer, in her experience with House the more time she spent with him, the more she got hurt. The fact that he had gone the entire night and morning without saying something hurtful was still quite shocking to her. She didn't want to push her luck.

She got back to her apartment around 11 am. She wasn't used to having free time during the week and was at a loss as to what to do with herself. She went into her bedroom, took out her diary and began documenting the events of the past 24 hours. House's mood swings were giving her whiplash and she thought that if she could put it down on paper it might help to slow the spinning in her head. By the time the brunette had finished putting her thoughts into words, she was even more confused than she had been. She flicked back through the pages and could not help but wonder what had caused such a drastic change in House's attitude towards her. She was afraid that this was just the calm before the storm and he would return worse than his usual self. With a sigh, Cameron put the diary back in her nightstand and went into the bathroom to shower.

Cameron was relieved when her phone buzzed at 3 pm because the boredom had been giving her far too much time to dwell on the previous night. She felt a swooping sensation in her stomach when she saw House's name on her display. However, she was disappointed when the text simply read "Case". She got dressed into work appropriate clothing, gathered her things and headed out to her car.

She was the first one to arrive and saw no sign of House when she got there. She put on some coffee, presuming she was about to be in for a late night in House had called them in on what was supposed to be their day off. Foreman arrived just as the coffee was ready and accepted a cup from Cameron with a nod of thanks. "What's the point of House giving us a day off if we're going to get called in for what is definitely gonna be an all nighter?", he grumbled as he sat down. "So he can show us he has the power to take away our freedom, of course", Cameron replied sarcastically as she joined him at the table. Foreman chuckled and nodded when a voice came from the doorway between the DDX room and House's office. "Why Cameron is that something you're into? Having your freedom taken away?", House leered at her. Both she and Foreman rolled their eyes at his comment and he limped towards them, tossing files onto the table. "We got a case. Heart attack". "Heart attack?" Cameron questioned, before opening the file "That's not a case, that's a diagnosis". "She's ten", Foreman said, surprised. "Yes Cameron, maybe finish reading the file before making stupid statements" House snarked at her. Cameron felt a sting at his comment but before she could reply, Chase walked in and House started writing symptoms on the board. He sat down and picked up the file, reading through it and they began making suggestions as to what could cause a heart attack in a ten year old. House sent them off to run tests and went into his office.

While they were off running numerous different tests, House was contemplating whether to go to Cameron's apartment to see if she had added anything new to her diary. He had expected her to be acting like a lovestruck teenager when she arrived today, but instead she was acting completely normal. He was on his feet and halfway to the elevators before his mind had fully caught up with what he was doing. He wanted to know how she was really feeling and if she wasn't going to give anything away, he would have to read her diary. For research purposes.
