Gabriella sighed for about the tenth time. She moved uneasily through the gyrating crowd until she reached a secluded corner. Why did I let Sharpay talk me into this, most of the time she doesn't even talk to me! Let alone invite me to one of her stupid parties! She slid down the wall and rested her head on her knees, longing to be home reading a book.
Ryan sighed for probably the tenth time. He slowly walked downstairs from his room and entered the madness that his sister liked to call a party. Why do our parents let Sharpay have these parties? She doesn't even talk to all of these people, let alone know them! He made his way through the crowd being jostled by the "dancing" that was occurring on all sides of him.
Gabriella stood up and started to try and find an exit. Maybe if she quietly slipped out of the house, Sharpay wouldn't notice her absence.
Ryan moved faster and faster through the room, not really paying attention to what was going on around him.
Gabriella was halfway through the mass of people when she suddenly slammed forcefully into another body.
Ryan, being oblivious to all of his sisters so-called "friends," suddenly crashed into another person and out of instinct grabbed them around the waist.
Gabriella tensed up, waiting for the impact of the floor to greet her, but she never got acquainted with it. It seemed, someone had caught her!
Ryan pulled the person up then straightened his clothes before actually glancing at the mystery klutz.
Gabriella was pulled up by a pair of strong arms and then released. She blushed and pretended to straighten her clothes before looking up into a pair of lovely blue eyes.
Ryan could not believe it! It was Gabriella Montez, the very girl who had beat him and his sister out for the musical!
Gabriella was shocked, her mystery savior turned out to be Ryan Evans! The man who, with the help of his sister, had tried to sabotage her acting career!
Ryan smiled uneasily and gestured out the door.
Gabriella, still in a daze, nodded and followed him out of the room. "Dance with me?" He asked as soon as they were in a different setting.
Ryan, without thinking, asked Gabriella to dance.
Gabriella, also without thinking, agreed to it and put her arms around him.
Ryan wrapped his arm around the petite brunette and they swayed to a beat of their own.
Gabriella sighed for the eleventh time that night, but this time it was out of the pleasant sensation that wracked her body as soon as Ryan had first grabbed her.
Ryan sighed for the eleventh time that night, this time out of an undeniable feeling of familiarity that rushed to every part of his body.
Both of them swayed together for the rest of the night, not noticing who came in and not noticing who left. All they had was each other, and that was all they needed.
