Chaos conjured a swirling vortex full of stars and matter and pointed to it.

Percy stepped in. He felt like his entire body was dissolving and put together again, and arrived in a spacious black room with a small light. Chaos was already there, standing under the bright light.

"This is where I will train you." Chaos said simply. "I must give you some... ah... upgraded weapons first."

Percy asked, "May I ask a question first, Chaos?"

"Go on."

"You were talking about a foreign power. What do mean by that?"

"There is a different type of power. Magic. The strongest of all wizards is who you must defeat."

"Wait. Doesn't Hecate control magic?"

"Indeed. After Hecate blessed mortals with her magic, some of them turned against her. They are now too evil to be controlled."

"Do we have any way to defeat this powerful wizard though?"

"You demigods cannot fight alone. You must find nearly as powerful wizards in a magic school and join forces with them to defeat this powerful wizard, Anyway, we must continue on with your training. Right, you know what duel wielding is, right?"

"Yeah."

Chaos suddenly pulled out two glowing swords. One seemed to be red hot and the other ice cold. Chaos carefully handed them to Percy. "Okay, so these swords are called elemental swords. One of them sets fire to the opponent while the other one freezes your opponent."

"Thank you so much, but I prefer Riptide more..." Based on Percy's pleasant interactions with all-powerful beings, they seemed to not like being denied.

"Of course, your own sword. How about I enchant your sword to make it more powerful?"

"If it doesn't change the feel, yeah."

"Of course, it doesn't."

As before, a ball of energy wrapped around the sword, setting it on fire. Chaos watched calmly. Percy looked worried and stared at his sword intently.

After a while, the fire died down and Percy grabbed it quickly. "It glows now!" He looked at it in wonder.

"It is capable of cutting through anything. Now, try to cut through the wood I gave you."

Percy smashed the sword at the brick of wood, nearly slamming it down to the floor.

Chaos stopped him quickly. "No, no, no. Lightly slice it down."

Percy quickly, but lightly sliced the sword down in the wood. The wood was cleanly cut in half.

"It has the same feel, right?"

"Yeah!"

"Good. Now we can train your powers."

Percy nodded his head enthusiastically.

Chaos continued, "Because I have blessed you, you will have many more powers. Let's see: You can control black lightning, generate dark energy, open vortexes, and absorb light and other substances. We will first learn to control black lightning."

"Cool!"

Chaos chuckled. "Controlling black lightning takes an immense amount of mindpower to master, but since you've already mastered the art of controlling water, I'm sure you can do this too. Just channel your emotions into the lightning. Drain all of your emotions. Direct the lightning into your target.. When used masterfully and correctly, this lightning can rival the power of Zeus' master bolt. However, it greatly drains your energy."

Percy thought, "Lightning. Lightning. Lightning," After a few seconds. small sparks appeared in his hands and sped toward the wood at the speed of sound. The wood lit on fire immediately.

"Not bad for the first time," Chaos said, "Obviously though, this lightning will be much stronger with more practice. Now, we will learn how to teleport by creating vortexes. It is similar to creating black lightning. You simply think about only the place you want to go and the memories you have there, drain all thoughts and emotions, and if you do it correctly, a vortex will be created."

Percy obliged. Nothing happened.

"Try again," Chaos encouraged.

Percy tried again. This time a small vortex opened. Just as Percy was about to walk through it, it disappeared again.

"You're almost there!"

Percy concentrated all of his strength on making a vortex to Camp Half-Blood. He cleared his thoughts and emotions; he repeatedly thought, "Camp Half-Blood, Camp Half-Blood, Camp Half-Blood." He imagined the smell of strawberries and the eleven cabins appearing before his eyes. A moment later, he found a giant black glittering vortex in front of him. He stepped through it.

It worked! He appeared on the dining table, scaring the wits out of the campers.

"Ah," Chiron remarked, staring at the black vortex behind Percy, "Looks like Percy's learned how to teleport."

All the campers recovered in shock and started laughing. Even Percy himself had to stifle a smile.

Percy waved a quick goodbye and conjured another vortex back to the spacious room.

"It worked!" He told Chaos excitedly.

"Good, now time to learn how to absorb substances!" Chaos said satisfactorily. "This is the most fun part, because I can shoot stuff at you." He rubbed his hands happily.

Percy back away. "Oh no," he muttered. "Here we go..."

After a week, Percy was able to master all of his powers. He could now summon giant bolts of lightning from his palm, create vortexes instantly to any place he had already been, and absorb almost any substance shot at him by Chaos.

"My dear Percy, use your powers well. But first, we must inform the gods of this terrible and dangerous upcoming war."
