Reminder: This is after the giant war.
Harry's POV:
I was suspicious of the new exchange students, at the least. From my two experiences, they're hiding something. The first one was about knowing that the teacher taught badly, and the second one was about the foreign language and all that stuff. At least that's what I think. I told my suspicions to Ron and Hermione, and they also looked skeptical.
I was jolted out of my thoughts when Ron tapped my shoulder.
"Hey, do you think that the exchange students are Death Eaters?"
"No, I just think they're hiding something. Oh right, on the train I followed Thalia and heard her saying 'O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, show me Annabeth at Camp Half-Blood'." I informed Ron and Hermione.
Hermione said, "I'll go look up Iris in the library."
This conversation ended when Dumbledore raised his hand. "As some of you know, there are new exchange students from America this year. They have all been through a lot, so please respect them. They will be taking classes with fifth-year students. For DADA, we have a new teacher coming from the Ministry of Magic, please welcome Professor Dolores Umbridge!"
I looked in disgust at Umbridge as she talked in her baby voice. "Pleased to meet you all, students." Then she said a few more about DADA this year.
Thalia POV:
After Professor Dumbledore (I still don't get his name though) finished his little speech and Ms. Pink Toad talked in her annoying voice for long enough, an old lady who introduced herself as Ms. McGonagall said that we should begin sorting.
I looked closely at some first years. They sat on a stool and Ms. McGonagall placed a dirty hat on their heads, and the hat shouted the name of a house.
"Gra-"
I knew this was me, so I gritted my teeth and interrupted Ms. McGonagall. I said, "Please don't use my surname unless you want to get electrified."
Oops! I made a mistake!
"Thalia." Ms. McGonagall said, but not before glaring at me.
I walked up to the stool. I jabbed the sorting hat onto my head.
The sorting hat spoke in my mind.
"Let me see your memories... your thoughts... your past."
"Very brave, I see... Sacrificed your life to protect your friends... Oh, my, I haven't seen much braver students than you... Lieutenant of Artemis… A demigod daughter of Zeus..." The hat said in my mind.
Meanwhile, Thalia's past flashed before her eyes.
"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat shouted.
I beamed and sat down beside Harry and his friends.
Third Person:
Ms. McGonagall said strictly, "Di Angelo, Nico!"
"Ha!" Harry thought. "He'll be in Slytherin!"
Nico sat on the stool with the sorting hat on his head.
The hat said, "A demigod child of Hades…. Clever... Cunning..."
"SLYTHERIN!" The hat screamed.
Harry was triumphant. I knew he was a Death Eater! I have to tell Dumbledore. But wait, didn't he say that we should treat the exchange students well? Maybe he was confounded.
Harry was jolted out of his thoughts when Ms. McGonagall's voice echoed through the great hall.
"Grace, Jason!"
Percy zoned out after a while. You couldn't blame him, he had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. He was still kind of listening; He perked up when the sorting hat called out his friend's houses.
He knew Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, and Annabeth were all in Gryffindor. Next it was his turn.
"Jackson, Perseus!"
"GRYFFINDOR!" The moment the hat touched Percy's head, it screamed. "JUST GET HIM OFF ME! HE'S BEEN THROUGH TOO MUCH! SHOO!"
Ms. McGonagall, as white as a sheet, quickly ran forward and yanked the hat from my head, then hurried back.
Meanwhile, the Gryffindor table erupted with cheers. The Golden Trio clapped the hardest of all.
Dumbledore didn't look surprised at all and said, "Now, the sorting is done, dig in!" He clapped his hands and food appeared on the plates.
Percy began to eat and chat with Harry Potter and his friends. After we were done eating, Dumbledore said (thankfully) that we could share a dormitory next to Harry's because we were inseparable. He nodded his head at this.
