Chapter 5: Tabitha Part 2
In The Ghost Zone
Clockwork and Flower Princess11 paused the image, as he and Flower Princess11 took a little break.
Flower Princess11 saw the young, lovesick quarter witch moon over her friend and felt proud of the girl.
"Oh, my..."She said.
She knew the girl was meant for great things, but didn't expect it to go this well for her high school years.
Clockwork nodded.
"This is just the start of great things for her..." He said.
Clockwork turned back to the time window and smiled.
His younger friend certainly lived an interesting life here, with a loving wife, a lovely daughter who is destined for big things, along another child on the way, one with it's own destiny.
"I see, like with Allura and Jackie, Danny raised his kid well..."FP11 said.
Clockwork smiled.
"Daniel is always a good father, no matter the world..."He said.
"Yes, he is..."She said happily.
"I can only hope the rest are like how he is with Kara or Sabrina..."The woman said.
"We'll see soon enough, now let us continued watching the rest of the day, shall we?..."Clockwork said.
"Of course..."FP11 said.
The Time Master fast forward a few hours until Tabitha was out of school and with her mother magic training.
"Time In..."CW said as he pressed a button and the show continued.
With Tabitha
School ended a little while ago and now, Tabbi was in inside a special room in the house made for one purpose: training her.
Right now, she was receiving said training from her mother in order to master her incantations. Due to Tabbi's unique heritage, her powers are much stronger than they were suppose to be for a quarter-witch and she has demonstrated great talent for power, both magical and ghostly. However, while she has mastered the basics of magic, she still needs to work on her incantations, as well as needing to learn to concentrate for the big spells. However, since she tends be pretty impulsive(not unlike her mother) and gets distracted, which often leads to disasters like what happened in her room this morning.
That is why her mother is teaching her to focus via meditation before trying spells again, like right now. Tabbi knew it was important to be focused before doing magic but it could be so boring but her mom always told her that magic requires practice.
Like right now as today, they were going to try offensive spells, a rather difficult technique for non-pure blood witches.
"Focus Tabbi..."Her mom said as her daughter tried to concentrate.
"I'm trying. It's not easy..." Tabbi said
Sabrina nodded.
"I know it's not easy. I was in the same boat when I was your age..."She said, remember all the time's she got in trouble with magic.
Tabbi opened her eyes and sent her a look.
"No offense mom but you didn't have ghost powers in addition to your training..." Tabbi said, her forehead tensing as she tried to concentrate.
"Okay, not exactly the same boat but magic didn't come easy to me either. Now concentrate..."Her mom said again
Her daughter tried to concentrated as she felt her eyes glowing greener as the magic courses through her.
"That's it..."Sabrina said as Tabitha tried to do the spell. The young girl took a deep breath, before she began chanting.
"Creeps and cheats take steps aback! For you will not escape any attack!..."She chanted.
Tabbi then fired a beam a beam that flew towards a target with Skulker's face on it ...until it curved back towards the two females.
"Uh oh..."Tabbi said as she grabbed her mom's hand and became intangible.
Just in time, as a thunderous boom filled the room as smoke cleared. Sabrina, after vacating the smoke from her lungs, glanced around the room, surveying the damage done this time.
"Sorry, mom..."Tabbi said and Sabrina sighed.
"It's alright, nothing that can't be fixed..."The mother said.
"Are you okay? Is the baby okay?..."Tabbi asked in concern.
"We're both fine, sweetie. See..."Sabrina said as she gestured to herself.
Tabbi was relieved for that but Sabrina then saw a discouraged look on her daughter's face, before she sighed.
"This is harder than last time..." Tabbi groaned., shaking the soot out of her blonde hair.
Sabrina conjured a spell and the training room was back to normal but Tabbi still looked down.
"Why is this so hard?..."Tabbi said.
She did not understand. Normally, she is pretty good with basic spells just as teleportation and summoning small stuff, but big spells, incantations and offensive magic was the worse.
It always blew up in her face, literally!
Sabrina sent a compassionate look to her daughter.
"Tabbi, magic is difficult to master..."The mother said.
"Understatement of the century, mom..."Tabbi muttered.
"Well yeah, training magic is never easy. And because of your father's powers, all that magic leaks out..." Sabrina pointed out as she glanced to a somewhat singed corner that she missed... "So we have to train early and get things under control..."She reminded.
"I know..." Tabbi whined.
She knows that her mother is right but it's not the same.
Ghost powers were easy, they relied more on an instinct or particular feeling. Magic had some rules and incantations that needed to be said in proper order. Anything else lead to explosions or other goof ups. Her Aunt's Dani and Jazz said she fell on Grandpa Jacks side of the family tree in that aspect. Something she wanted to argue against but couldn't, since she saw their point.
She also knew that she had a long way to go before her powers fully awakened. Also, she won't be fully awaken until she is 16, so she has to train. It was better to have control now then when her powers were fully awakened but without control.
So, it is back to training. Tabbi frowned a bit while Sabrina placed a hand on her shoulder and sent her a motherly look once more.
"Magic can be tricky. Trust me, you'd be surprised in how many times things got weird, especially when I started dating your father..."Sabrina said with a small blush... "I swear the things that happened..."She said as she recalled the ups and downs when she and her husband had dated.
Tabbi saw the look of love on her face. While most kids would be grossed out, Tabbi smiled since she knew her parents still love each other.
"'I told you so, Stone..."Tabbi thought with a smile.
Sabrina, unaware of that situation, just continued giving her words of encouragement.
"Tabbi, magic is complicated at times. Some spells can be easy or hard with each person, but don't give up. If I managed to get the hang of it, so will you..."The mother said.
Tabbi smiled upon hearing that and nodded.
"I won't..."Tabbi said, feeling a little better.
"Alright, Tabbi, let's try again..." Sabrina said calmly as her daughter took a deep breath.
"Are you sure, what if I flop again and the baby-..."
"The baby will be alright, Tabbi. Remember, I am no slouch with magic. Besides, I trust you.."Sabrina said kindly to her daughter.
Tabbi felt a little more confident and nodded.
"Okay..."She said as she decided to give it another try.
"Alright, focus Tabbi..."Her mom said... "I want you to close your eyes and focus..."
Tabbi did as so and shut her eyes. With the light of the world gone, all the girl did was listen to the sound of her mother's voice.
"Now, I want you to take your time on this. When you're ready, open your eyes and begin..."Sabrina said.
"Okay, mom..."Tabbi said.
She tried not to think about distracting stuff, like Harrison or how cute kittens are as tried to focus, just as her mother said. Silence was everywhere as the young halfa-witch hybrid in training breathed deeply. The puff of air inhaling and exhaling were her mantra. Soon, young Tabbi opened her eyes, he took one last deep breath and began. She felt her eyes glowing greener as the magic courses through her once again.
"That's it, Tabbi.."Sabrina said in joy as her daughter continued to focus.
"Creeps and cheats take steps aback! For you will not escape any attack!..."She chanted once more.
Soon enough, the blast went forward and quickly beheaded the target in less than a moment.
"Did I do it?..."She thought, only to see her results and gasped.
"You did it!..."Sabrina said proudly.
"I did it!..."Tabbi said, happy as she ran and hugged her mother.
That one wasn't easy. Sure, she has her father's ghost ray but still, her mother insisted to known how to defend herself in both styles, and that includes learning offensive spells.
It wasn't easy but look, she actually managed to do it!
"I am so proud of you..."Sabrina said as she kept hugging her
"Thanks, mom..."Tabbi said, feeling happy.
Sabrina smiled happily, she was so focused on her daughters achievement that she almost didn't notice the puff of blue smoke dropping a scroll in her hand, thus ending the hug for the moment.
"Who is it from?..."Tabbi asked, curiously.
"It's from Cassandra..."Sabrina said, shaking her head since Cassandra still wasn't the type to deliver messages via phone.
Sabrina opened the scroll and did a quick read of it.
"What is it?..."Tabbi asked.
"It's a meeting for the council..."Sabrina said, referring to her former rival and current friend/colleague in the council
"What's it about?.." Tabbi asked to be polite, even if those meetings can be kind of boring.
"Just a routine meeting, nothing apocalyptic. Cassandra just wants to discuss some upcoming legislation..." Her mom said..."No need for your dad to call in any of his friends..."The mother said.
"Too bad..."Tabbi thought.
It would have been a good chance to meet up with the daughter's of her dad's friends and see if any of them would be interested in CJ.
Looks like that plan will have to wait another day.
Her mother kept reading the letter.
"Also, it says here that many of the young witches and warlocks in training will be there too. Do you want to come?..."Sabrina asked her daughter.
Tabbi nodded.
"Sure, not gonna let Morgana have all the fun..."Tabbi said.
Morgana is the great niece of Enchantra, the head of the council and daughter of her mom's friend, Cassandra. They have known each other since they were children and she was something of a friendly rival to Tabbi, while her brother Arthur tends to act weird and nervous around her for some reason.
"Just try not to get into too much trouble like last time..." Sabrina said... "I'd like to end the meeting with the council building in the same condition it was when we get there..."Sabrina said.
"I promise..." Tabbi said
"Good, now ready to get back to training..."Her mother said.
Tabby nodded before she continued with her training, while Sabrina smiled with pride.
"That's my girl..."She thought, proudly.
A little later
About an hour has passed and Tabbi continued her training with her mother.
Right now, Sabrina had Tabbi meditating again and the young hybrid's body began to glow green as she levitated into the air as she continued breathing. The green glow became less and less until it was faint and almost nonexistent.
"That's it. Keep going..."Sabrina said as she let Tabbi continue her meditation for a few more minutes.
However, the silence ended when Sabrina's stomach began to rumble irritably, as she began to get a craving again and she knew that she had to take a break now.
"Okay, that's enough..."Mom said.
"Mom, are you okay?..." Tabbi asked.
Sabrina nodded, smiling reassuringly.
"I'm fine but baby wants a cheeseburger..." She said..."Boy or girl, they have your fathers appetite, just like their big sister..."Sabrina said with a laugh.
"Haha. That's so funny, mom..."Tabbi laughed sarcastically, before feeling her own stomach rumbling too.
Both blondes stared at each other, before laughing in a more genuine way.
"Actually, some cheeseburgers sound good right about now, along with some chili fries and root bear..."She said as even fluttered her lashes.
Sabrina saw this and sighed.
"Alright, but remember that you still have to clean your room..."Sabrina said.
"Yes, mother..."Tabbi said.
The mother and daughter walked out of the training room and zapped to the Nasty Burger to go get some burgers.
Later
After getting cheeseburgers, Sabrina and Tabbi returned home and the young girl went up to her room to clean, something her mother reminded her to do.
Once she was in her room, the young quarter-witch saw that it was cleaner then it was this morning but there was still stuff for her to clean, no doubt, her mother decided to cut her a break, but she still had do clean up her mistake. Tabbi got to work with cleaning up the room without magic since her cleaning spells still need some work.
"Let's get this over with..."She sighed as she began cleaning.
A few hours later
Once her room was clean, Tabbi knew that she earned some time to relax. She was now in her bedroom, her non-magical homework had been finished and she was currently listening to music from her favorite band.
Josie and the Pussycats, a classic.
Tabbi had been a huge fan of them since her parents took her back in time to see them live during their first real show for her 10th birthday.
The blonde teenager laid back on her bed, relaxing listening to her oldies music . Nothing could get her down while she listen to the Pussycats.
"Josie and the Pussycats...Yeah~..."Tabbi sang some of the lyrics, before she felt her phone buzzing, signalling a call.
The blonde girl checked her phone and frowned when she recognized the phone number and rejected it. Unfortunately, she got a voice mail.
"Hey Tabbi babe. Why don't you pick up the phone? Never mind, why not go out with a real guy, we can do something fun. Call me...."Dash Jr's, a jock and son of the coach, voice mail soon ended.
Tabbi rolled her eyes as she deleted the voicemail.
Dash Jr, the son of Coach Baxter, has been trying to ask her out for a while now and while he might be a buff jock but he is also a total jerk who picked on everyone he thought was a loser, which was just about everyone not in the A-List, practically, with the exception of her.
Tabbi doesn't like him, he is just an arrogant jock who spends most of his days in detention. She has turned him down before but he won't stop. She just tried to ignore him and let his stupid dad deal with him. His dad is a man, who's best he could make of himself was being a coach at school and who had a son who will no doubt go threw the same motions as him if he doesn't shape up soon, or at least that is what her parents told her one time. Her dad also said something about some people not wanting to be saved. Some people like Dash Jr.
Tabbi felt her phone vibrating again and got a text, from Dash Jr again and rolled her eyes.
"Delete..."She said, not even bothering to read it.
How the boy ever got her number, though, was still a mystery. Especially with his low IQ.
"Maybe there's a restraining order spell I can use...nah, he's not worth it..." Tabitha said.
She has no intention of going out with him, besides, she could just imagine the look on her parents faces if she brought a guy like Dash Baxter Jr home. Her dad would have a heart attack and her mom would think she's under a spell. Not that it'd ever happen anyway. The day she dated Dash Baxter Jr would be the day she ate her old, muddy tennis shoes.
Gross!
Besides, Harrison is the one she likes, even if he doesn't get it yet.
Seriously, why did boys have to be so clueless sometimes? And why did Harrison have to be so cute in the first place?
Her phone rang again. Tabbi rolled her eyes.
"If it's Dash again, I'll-..."Tabbi looked at the caller ID and squealed seeing it was Harrison this time.
"It's Harrison..."She said in excitement.
Taking a deep breath to calm down, she answered.
"Hi, Harrison, what's up?..."She said trying to sound cool.
"Nothing much, just finishing my homework..."Harrison said..."So, anyway, they are showing the remake of Dead Teacher...wanna watch this Friday?..."Harrison asked.
Tabbi's smiled widen. Harrison wanted to see the dead teacher remake with her, she has been trying to figure out ways to ask HIM to watch that with her.
How lucky was that?
Tabbi covered the speaker and squealed, feeling so overjoyed that she actually forgot about the explosions, the goo, Ruby and her moms mood swings. She apparently did it for quite a while, as Harrison started talking again.
"Tabbi, are you still there?..." Harrison asked and Tabbi panicked quickly answered
"Yeah, I'm here..." She said... "So, a movie?..."
"Yeah, me, TJ, CJ and a few other dudes are going to watch the first showing. So, do you want to come?..."Harrison asked... "If you don't Ceej, will comment about the lazy writing and Tuck will hog all the popcorn..."Harrison chuckled.
Tabbi's hopes shot down a little.
"Oh..."She thought, before she thought about it.
Sure, it was sort of a friend-date but still, it be her and Harrison...and TJ, CJ and some other guys. It's still better than nothing and she'd still get to hang out with Harrison
"Sure..."Tabbi said, feeling much better now.
"Cool. Anyway, Friday at 6..."He said.
"I'll be there..."Tabbi said.
She soon hung up and sighed as she thought about her cute friend. Sure, it was a friend date but maybe, if Tabbi played her cards right, this friend date could lead to many REAL dates in the future, where it was just her and Harrison.
A girl can dream, can't she.
"Harrison..."Tabbi sighed as she hugged her pillow to her chest as she thought about his dreamy brown eyes and cute smile.
Her and Harrison Kinkle.
Tabbi smiled as that sounded magical to her
