The Many Kids of Danny Fenton
Chapter 9: Matlin Part I
Clockwork, Flower Princess11 and 61394 had just finished watching the entire Fenton-Pryde family, and they all looked pleased.
Anyway, all seems to be in order here..."Clockwork said before closing the widow to that timeline.
"That was a long one..."FP11 said.
"But not too long..."61395 said... "I love this couple but that doesn't mean I want to see everything about them..."He said.
"Oh..." Clockwork said knowingly in his child form... "I thought you did not care for the relationships of others, old friend..."
61394 shrugged a smile on his face.
"I don't, everyone's different but as long as both partners are happy in the relationship, I don't give it much thought beyond that..." 61394 said before he looked to FP..."And the boss always makes sure Danny is happy with whoever he ends up with..." He complimented
FP11 smiled.
"I try..."She said.
"And will you do the same for Peter?..." Clockwork asked.
"I know that you already know my answer but I will say this, Peter is a sweet kid, I have a good feeling that he'll figure things out..."FP11 said, seeing potential in him and some lucky lady in the future.
61394 smiled knowingly at that. He would never call himself an expert on love(ironic since he is also a matchmaker by trade) but like FP11 said, he had a good feeling about young Pete too.
He is a good kid, just like his old man.
Meanwhile, Clockwork smiled at the sole female in the room.
"You always were a romantic..."CW said and FP11 smiled.
"Always..."She said happily.
"Ain't nothing wrong with that, old friend..." 61394 said
"You do have your moments as well..." Clockwork said as he changed into his elderly form and turned to his two guests.
"So, who is next?..."FP11 asked and 61394 wanted to know too.
Clockwork waved his staff as he prepared to open another window, to another timeline. They soon saw the image of a little girl who looked to be of Asian ancestry, but there was obviously something special about her.
Something magical.
With her were her parents, Danny Phantom and his chosen match of that universe, Musa the fairy of music.
"I do believe that young Matlin is next..."Clockwork said and his guests looked intrigued.
"Alright, Danny and Musa..."FP11 said happily.
"This takes me back..."61394 said nostalgically, looking intrigued too.
Clockwork smiled as he fast forward ten years and they soon saw a teenage Matlin Fenton.
"I must advise you, since you both haven't seen Danny and Musa's life for quite a while, some changes have happened since your last visit, so please don't be so surprised if things aren't quite the same..."Clockwork said.
"Spoilers, huh?..."61394 said with a smirk.
"Call it what you will..."CW said with a shrug.
"Will you be staying old friend?..."Clockwork asked..."I know you have your work..."
"I haven't been idle in my work, Clockwork and I can see the finish line after so long but it can wait a little longer..." 61394 answered.
"I'm in..."FP11 said.
"Same here ..."61394 said, wanting to see.
It had been a long time since he'd visited the fairies of Alfea and FP11 was curious to see how they have been.
Clockwork smiled as he held onto his time staff.
"Very well..."CW said as he prepared his time staff as his guests were back to their seats.
61394 pulled out a new bucket of popcorn, offering some to FP11.
"Want some, boss?..." He asked.
FP11 smiled before taking some of the snack that her friend offered her, while Clockwork made the viewing possible
"Time in!..."Clockwork said as he pressed the button and soon they witness a day from of the life of young Matlin Fenton.
10 years later
It was a beautiful Summer's day in the town known as Amity Park, the sun has just set and many people were either at home with their family's, or out on the town, enjoying their evenings.
But our story doesn't take place there.
In another dimension, much different from Amity Park itself, a place where fairies and magical creatures all lived and roamed about. It's a place called Magix, the capitol of the Magic Dimension, as well as the crossroads to All Magical Dimensions.
Here, in this magical metropolis, a lovely young 16 year old girl was currently getting ready, especially since school will be starting up soon and she looked around for her lucky guitar pic.
"Where is that thing? It has to be here somewhere..."The young girl said as she kept looking.
It couldn't just sprout wings and fly away...well, not unless someone put a spell on it.
"I gotta find it. I can't play without it..."The girl muttered under her breath.
It was a girl named Matlin Fenton, the daughter of Danny Fenton and his wife, Musa, as well as a fairy in training, in spite of her rather unique heritage.
Matlin has grown up and is no longer a cute little girl, but has grown to be as beautiful as her mother before her. She bears a strong resemblance to her mother Musa as she has her mother's eyes and facial features, but her father's black hair that reaches her waist and is styled in a hime cut.
Also, just like her mother, she is considered very beautiful, one of the prettiest girls in Amity Park or Magix, depending on where she is living.
Just as predicted, the young fairy/human/ghost hybrid had inherited both of her parents powers. She has her mother's affinity for magical music, as well good amount of her father's ghostly powers, such as invisibility and ecto blasts, as well as his most powerful ability: the ghostly wail. Though hers was more versatile since she could use her music magic to alter the frequency direction or power but even then, it still drained her of her power and she was told only to use it as a last resort.
Like father like daughter, after all
And like her father, she's developed a bit of a hero complex. Whether it's out of a desire to make her father proud, or she inherited his good nature, she wants to use her powers to help others.
Like father, like daughter.
Anyway, she and her family were currently staying in their home in Magix, (they owned several homes across the dimensions) for the Summer since Matlin started school in Alfea, they'd been staying in Magix a lot more, though her parents remained stationed in Amity Park due to their duties and careers on Earth.
Her dad still worked in Amity Park but he was always home by dinner while her mother was taking a sabbatical due to her needing a break..or at least, that's what they told the press, though they'd learn the truth in a few months.
Nine months to be more exact.
Anyway, since school won't start for about two weeks, Matlin still had about 2 weeks of fun with her friends left but she can't leave until she finds a certain something that she never leaves home without.
Ever!
"Where is that thing?..." She asked, frustrated.
"Looking for something?..."Was heard.
Matlin turned to see her mother, Musa Fenton, holding her lucky pic.
"My pic! Where did you find it?..."Matlin asked, happy to see it.
"You left it downstairs in the kitchen..."Musa said to her daughter.
"Thanks, Mom, I really need my lucky charm today ..."Matlin said as she took the pic, with was red with the DP logo in black
"Of course, my little rockstar..."Musa said and Matlin blushed.
"Mom..."Matlin whined at the use of the embarrassing childhood nickname.
Musa giggled before kissing her daughter on the forehead.
"I'm just messing with you, sweetheart..." Musa said nostalgically her oldest child, who rolled her eyes.
"You know you have another kid to mess with, right?..."Matlin said and Musa smirked.
"Yes… but you're the oldest, so you get first pick..."The mother teased.
Matlin sighed.
"Why'd I have to say "I'm gonna be a rockstar" when I was a kid?..." The girl asked herself.
Her parents never let her live it down
"It's because you're my daughter, and you've inherited my love for music..." Musa said.
"True..."Matlin admitted.
"And it's still your favorite music genre..."The mother pointed out.
"Can't argue..."Matlin said.
Musa smiled at Matlin as she put away her lucky guitar pic in her purse.
"So, any reason you need luck today?..."Musa asked..."Anything involving ghosts?..."The mother asked.
Matlin shook her head.
"Nothing really, just working on a new song, but if any ghosts like that Skulker creep tries another sneak attack or tries to threaten dad again. They are going down..."Matlin said, referring to her last encounter with that lousy hunter the last time she and her folks were in Amity Park.
It ended just as it always does, with the hunter's suit turned into scrap metal.
Musa smiled.
Between the kids of her and Danny, they had either mainly been divided in looks and attitude. It was either ghostly or fairy-like, but never both.
As for personality, Matlin was a bit of a mix.
Like her mother before her, Matlin has a deep love for music and dancing, as well as fashion, but at the same time, she can be pretty tomboyish as she enjoys playing sports and on a more serious notes, sneaking out to fight crime, be it human, ghost or magical creature. She loved fighting alongside her dad, ever since she mastered her ghostly powers and proved herself ready when she was 14.
It was the same rush she felt when playing music but different in a good way.
The feeling of doing good while making evil-doers pay. The feeling of helping someone. She couldn't help but love it.
"I see your dad's been rubbing off on you a lot… Must be those gross shakes he makes with your aunt Danielle…"Musa teased.
"Hey, they're delicious!..." Matlin stated.
"Yup… your Fenton genes…" Musa said... "So, is my Sprite all set for the day?..."She asked.
"You know it!..." Matlin said proudly.
"Still can't believe you chose my old nickname for you as your superhero name. You know you don't need one, it's not like you have a secret identity..." Musa said.
"Neither does Tony Stark anymore after he revealed Iron Man isn't his bodyguard but he still uses his alias..." Matlin pointed out.
"True…"Musa said.
She never understood that, to be honest.
Then again, Tony Stark, while undoubtedly a good man, has a bit of an ego. However, Danny still uses his own superhero alias, though he's gone on to say the name has stuck with him. She still didn't totally get it but Musa had just written it off years ago as a human quirk a fairy like her wouldn't get.
In Matlin's case, she chose that little nickname they gave when she was 8, Sprite, since it's used to describe fairy-like beings and came from the Latin word for spirit, which ended up being a perfect name for her.
"I guess Sprite would look better as an action figure than Matlin Fenton..." Musa suggested.
They both shared a laugh.
"So, how is the new song coming along?..."Musa asked.
"I am still working on it..."Matlin said and Musa smiled proudly.
"Don't work too hard on it, that's a good way to lose sleep. Besides, I am sure it will be amazing as usual..."Musa said in an encouraging way.
"Thanks, Mom..."The teenage girl said.
That's when Matlin smelled it..."What's that?..." She said, smiling.
Musa smiled too.
"Your dad made breakfast..." Musa said and Matlin smiled wider..."Let's go join in before your brother eats it all..."The mother said.
Matlin's stomach grumbled and nodded. She had nothing against her mom's cooking but her dad was amazing when he made breakfast, which happened a lot more since certain events happen for their family.
Or will be happening in a few months, anyway.
"Okay, coming down now..." The young girl said following her mother.
The smell was too intoxicating to ignore for long.
Downstairs
The two walked down to the kitchen, seeing that Danny was at the stove.
The smell of bacon, waffles and pancakes was making Matlin's stomach rumble louder then her ghostly wail, as well as Musa's. However, when Matlin got to the table, she saw less than she expected to see.
"Hey, what gives!?..." The girl asked.
"You should have been here sooner..." Said a voice... "Those pancakes were delicious. And so were the waffles and bacon..."
Already sitting at the table was her eight year old brother, James Jackson Fenton or Jimmy for short, who was currently eating like his aunt Danielle or grandpa Jack when he was actually hungry.
"You remembering to breathe between bites, Bro?..."Matlin said sarcastically as he just smiled, his face covered in syrup.
"Hey, Mattie..."He said, using his childhood nickname for her since it had taken him a while to be able to say her full name when he was a toddler and it stuck.
"No talking with your mouth full..."Musa said maternally
"Sorry, Mom..."The 8 year old boy said.
"Yeah, it's gross..."Matlin said while her brother stuck his tongue at her.
"Son…" Musa warned.
He stopped.
"Sorry, Mom…"Jimmy said before he went back to eating.
Matlin rolled her eyes at her brother's antics. Due to their father's duties on Earth, their family tends to hop between Magic and Earth a lot, especially since Matlin got accepted to Alfea when she was 14. She was excited, as it meant she and the girls she became friends with can all go together.
Meanwhile, her little brother was going to be home in Amity Park until he is old enough to apply for Red Fountain and Matlin wasn't exactly complaining . While she does love him and despite being family, Jimmy Fenton tended to be a bit of a pest like most little brothers tend to be.
Like right now.
"BURP!..."Jimmy let out a loud one, much to his sister's annoyance.
"Jimmy! Eww!..."Matlin complained.
"James!..."Musa scolded.
"Oops, sorry..."Jimmy said sheepishly.
"Son... as your father I gotta discourage that..." Danny said as a smile..."But as a guy, I gotta compliment the volume on that..."He added.
"Don't encourage him, Danny..." Musa said.
"Sorry, my love..." He said before giving her a playful look.
Musa giggled before the two shared a kiss and Jimmy looked grossed out.
"Ew!..."Jimmy said, gagging.
Matlin shook her head, though couldn't help but chuckle a little.
Her brother could be funny, even if he was still immature.
"You better be careful, Jimmy..." Marlin said with a smirk... "One day, you might be like that with someone..."She teased.
The boy glanced to his parents in horror as he saw the love. As if joining in on the fun, Danny and Musa went back to giving each other tokens of affection like hugs and kisses, much to their son's dismay.
"No! Yuck!..." Jimmy shouted as he covered his eyes.
His parents and sister laughed.
"Oh, relax..."Matlin said.
"Your mother and I just love each other son..." Danny said, chuckling.
"If you wanna be like your father someday, that means that's going to be you someday when you fall in love..."Musa said with a giggle, while her son pouted.
Jimmy huffed before he resumed eating in a more...feral manner than normal
"Remember to use a fork, Jimmy..." Musa quipped with a smile but the boy continued his current eating mannerism.
"One would think table manners would be easier to teach than magic or superpowers..." Matlin said.
Musa sighed as observed her son.
"One would think..." She said.
Matlin approached her brother.
"Dad didn't save the world by saying please and thank you to all those villains..." Jimmy said.
"Pretty sure it's a requirement when you're an adult..."Matlin said.
Jimmy scoffed again.
"Not me!..."He said before burping again, albeit not as loudly as before.
"See?..."He said immaturely.
Matlin rolled her eyes before chuckling.
"Well… you're lucky I have to love you…" She said as she kissed his cheek, messing with his shaggy black-blue hair snatching a piece of bacon off his plate.
"HEY!..."He protested and Matlin laughed.
"You snooze you lose, little brother..." Matlin said and Jimmy pouted.
"I was here first!..."He complained while their father brought more food to the table.
"There's plenty of food Matlin, you don't have to steal..." Danny said.
"True, but I do this for my brother to make sure he's on guard..."Matlin said.
"How is stealing my bacon helping me?..."Jimmy asked, not buying it.
"Consider it training for when you become a specialist..."Matlin said with a shrug.
That managed to calm her brother down.
"Oh… okay then..."Jimmy said and Matlin smiled.
Ever since their first visit to that place to investigate if a small gathering of Danny's villains with Ben's and the Trix, her brother saw the specialist training and instantly wanted to join. Even if his mother's ex-boyfriend was one, she didn't mind this at all, especially since a handful of her male friends all attended that place.
Now, her little brother was dreaming about getting to get into Red Fountain academy when he was older, since he knows all about the specialists and wishes to be a great hero just like his dad, even if technically speaking, he never attended Red Fountain himself.
"I'll get in..." He said
"Sure, you will..." Matlin said.
"I will! You'll see! Dad's a hero, so they'll let me in!..."Jimmy said.
Matlin wanted to be supportive of her brother, but she could not resist pointing this out.
"Hate to burst your bubble Jimmy, but Dad didn't even go there. Not even to give a lecture or public speech..." Matlin added.
"So? He still saved Earth and Magix a ton of times already..."Jimmy pointed out.
"True..."Matlin said.
"Just you watch, I am going to be a great hero and save the day, just like dad does..."Jimmy said and Danny smiled at that, before ruffling his blueish black hair.
"I know you will, son..."Danny said and Matlin giggled.
Her little brother idolizes their dad for being a hero but their dad wanted him to get training first, just like they did with Matlin when she got her powers. He knew how hard it was to not know what you're doing as a hero and when people's lives were at risk. you had to know what you were doing.
Still, Matlin could not resist some good nature ribbing at her brother's expense.
Like right now.
"I'm pretty sure Dad isn't goofy enough to wear his blanky as a cape or use his underwear as a mask too..." Matlin joked.
Her brother then look angry and embarrassed.
"I don't do that anymore..."Jimmy yelled.
It is true, he hasn't done anything like that since he was five years old and has moved on from playing hero to wanting to be one for real.
His sister couldn't resist a little more teasing.
"True… but it's hard to get that memory out of my head. Can't wait to share it with all your fans…"Matlin joked while her little brother got worked up.
"Moooom!..."Jimmy yelled and Musa sighed.
"Don't tease your brother..." The mother said, sitting down next to Matlin tiredly... "That's not an example I want you teaching on how to be a good older sibling..."She said.
"Sorry, Mom..." Matlin said ..."I'll set a better example..."
"I know you will..." Musa smiled
Soon the family continued to eat their breakfast and talk about various topics, such as plans for today.
"So, any plans for today?..."Danny asked, after taking a sip of his coffee.
"Nothing much. Just planning on working on my new song and maybe hang with the girls, go shopping or shoot some hoops..."Matlin answered.
"Just be back by curfew..."Musa said to her daughter.
"Yes, Mom..."Matlin said.
Musa smiled.
Her little girl had grown up in a blink of an eye and she hardly could wait to introduce the newest member of the family.
Musa then placed her hand on her still thin stomach, a warm smile on her face.
"After all, I might need your help later, my little Sprite..." She said.
"Of course…" She responded.
She'd be happy to help her mom right now, especially since the big news of the new addition coming soon. Matlin smiled as she placed a hand on her mother's pregnant belly.
That was another reason that they are here.
A few days ago, they learned that their mother was expecting again and now she has to go and see a doctor, since human doctor's can't examine a fairy the same way a Magix doctor can, plus that way they could inform her mom's side of the family. Grandpa Ho-Boe had cheered happily when they told him and the rest of Musa's friends and family. So did her friends and her dad's side of the family who were overjoyed.
By this point, even his allies in the Ghost Zone know and were happy.
So were they.
They COULD have a prediction of some kind on the gender, but Musa wanted to be surprised. Matlin would be happy with either a new little brother or little sister. Heck, she'd be happy with both if it were twins, though her parents might disagree with that.
Matlin smiled before going back to her breakfast as her family kept talking and making plans for their day.
"Any plans? Anyone?..." Danny asked.
"Aunt Danielle and Grandpa Jack brought your official video game. Can I play it while I am at grandpa Ho-Boe?..." Jimmy asked.
Danny sighed.
"At least they got a good developer and proper amount of time for it..." Danny muttered... "Sure, Son..."
"All right!..." Jimmy went.
Musa smiled at their son.
"For now, I'm gonna sit tight. You?..."She asked.
"They don't need me either on the space station, Danielle's taking care of Amity Park right now for me. Plus, Kim, Ben, the League and X-Men say they don't need any help right now. So, I am all yours..."Danny said and Musa smiled.
"Good..."She said, before he to their daughter.
"Maybe after you are done with your plans, you and I can go on a flight later tonight, Matlin..."He suggested.
"Sure, Dad..."His daughter said before taking another bite of her waffles..."But what about Mom?..."She reminded.
"Don't worry, I might not need your help for long. I just need special groceries for pregnant fairies..." Musa said, while she took a bite of her breakfast, consisting of pancakes, waffles, nuts(of all kinds), various fruits, and marshmallows.
Her daughter eyes her funny, unable to process her mother's current diet.
"Hey, cravings..."She said before she went back to eating.
"Okay..."Matlin said.
The family continued eating, while Matlin's father noticed the time on the wall clock.
"You best finish up, Matlin..." Danny said.
"Got it, Dad. And don't worry, I'll be back as early as I can..." She said.
She really just wanted to go out and work on her new song, hang with her friends and maybe get a little goofing around out of her system before school starts in a few days.
"And no sneaking around and pulling pranks while invisible again!..." Danny said with a playful but stern voice.
"Aww..."Matlin fake pouted while her family laughed.
The family soon went back to having breakfast together, enjoying the nice moment of family togetherness.
A little later
After eating breakfast, Matlin decided to go to the shopping district while her dad took her mom to the doctor, but not before leaving her little brother with grandpa Ho-Boe. They still had about two weeks before classes start and she decided to get her mind of her writer's block and have some fun while she had time.
She was walking but saw a bunch of crowds and realized that she would have to fly to get through
"Time to hit the skies..."She said as she decides to morph.
Rings passed over her body as her clothes changed, her black her turned snow white and her green eyes glowed with power.
Unlike most Winx girls, whose appearance stay the same when they morph, Matlin was a little different. Her black hair turned white and her eyes became glowing green, and her wings, while still of a butterfly pattern, were shaped like ghostly tail with green streaks giving a mysterious but beautiful appearance
Due to her heritage, her two transformations were somehow merged together, creating a form that was a fairy and ghost hybrid. Her grandparents and the doctors in Magix said that it was likely the result of her unique DNA.
She also had a full variety of both her parents powers and abilities, though she's known to favor her father's due to all the fun she can have with them, like flying through the air, sneaking around invisibly, making snow with her ice powers and phasing through enemy attacks.
That doesn't mean that she doesn't enjoy the fairy side of her powers too, especially her musical abilities that come from her mother. However, when it came to writing songs that were meaningful for her, she wanted to rely on her own skills than magic.
Especially for this particular song about-
"Hey Matlin!..."Someone called.
Matlin turned around and saw that it was her friends. There were about five girls around her age, or older.
"Hey..." She said to her friends.
One of them was a tanned girl with black hair, green eyes, who was dressed in green capri pants and a pink, floral top. She is Rosa, the daughter of Flora and her husband Helia.
The other was a girl who looked to be of African ancestry with long, curly brown hair and brown eyes, who is in a seafoam green mini dress and jeans. She is Princess Layla, the daughter of Queen Aisha and her husband, Nex.
Next to her is a girl with magenta hair and green eyes, who has a sophisticated disposition ans dressed in a purple tank top and blue jeans covered in circuitry She is Tori, the daughter of Techna and Timmy.
Beside her is a girl with long brown hair, golden-brown eyes eyes and wearing a very stylish orange sun dress with yellow heels and a lot of golden jewelry . It is Sophia, the daughter of Queen Stella and her consort, Brandon.
Last but not least is a girl with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes who was dressed in a casual blue top and jeans. It is Princess Daphne, the daughter of King Sky and Queen Bloom, named after her maternal aunt and the reigning queen of Domino.
Together, they are the current generation of the Winx Club and Matlin's best friends.
Matlin smiled at her friends.
"Hey..." Daphne greeted.
"Hey guys..." Matlin said, hugging her friends..."How's it goin'?..." She asked.
"What do you think? Shopping..."Sophia, the fashionista of the group, said proudly as she held a shopping bag.
"Wanna join?.."Rosa asked and Matlin didn't need to be asked twice.
"Well... I do need a new top after Jimmy's fired a ghost ray hole in one of mine while practicing..." Matlin said.
Though to be honest, she doesn't really NEED a reason to shop.
Tori, seeing she had her guitar with her, smiled.
"Are you playing a gig?..."She asked.
"Oh, no. Just working on a new song ..."Matlin asked.
"Oh, what kind of song?..." Sophia asked.
"Oh..uh...just something I've been working on..."Matlin said, trying to hide a blush.
The song she'd been working on was a love song about a certain guy that she had liked but the issue was she had the worst case of writers block.
The music was easy but words the words were hard.
She needed them to be just right
"Ooh, what's this one about?..."Sophia asked curiously.
Matlin blushed , not wanting the fact she was writing a love song for her crush to get out to the biggest gossip queen in Alfea. Especially since her crush happens to be connected to one of her best friends here, not that she'd say it out loud.
It would be WAAAAYYYY too awkward.
"Sorry girls, but you know that I don't perform until my song is ready..."Matlin said.
"Fine..."Sophia said with a pout.
"Sorry... you know I like to keep working on a song until it's ready. A bit of a perfectionist here..." Matlin said.
"True, you do love to overwork yourself there..." Daphne said... "Just don't overdo it, you need to sleep at least..."
"That's what my mom says..." Matlin responded.
"You sure that there isn't anything you need help on?..."Layla asked and Matlin shook her head.
"Not right now, no…"She said.
However, Sophia leaned closer and whispered to her.
"It's about "him", isn't it?" Sophia asked in a mischievous tone.
Matlin blushed deeply again, before shaking it off.
"Maybe..." Matlin said.
They had some idea she had feelings for someone, but since she won't say who it is, they just said "him".
"Still won't say it out loud?..." Sophia asked.
Matlin shook her head
"I don't know what your talking about..."She denied.
"Riiiggggghhttt..." Rosa said jokingly.
Matlin blushed deeper and crossed her arms in a huff. Sophia and Rosa both giggled.
"I think we should get back on topic like the subject of Matlin's song..." Tori said... "I personally have a few educated guesses but it'd be faster if Matlin would just tell us..."
"You're a smart girl, figure it out..." Matlin joked
"Fine... be that way..." Tori said, pretending to be insulted
Daphne, who was at the far back, barely heard the conversation since they had been whispering.
"So, what's up?..."She asked and Matlin flinched.
"Oh, nothing major..."Matlin said, since she was not ready to talk about it with her for reasons she rather not discuss.
At least, not right now.
Sophia decided to rescue her in the best way she knew how.
"Come on, there is going to be a sale at Galini's ..."Sophia, the fashionista of the group, said eagerly.
"I'm there..."Daphne said.
"Me too..."Layla agreed.
"Yeah, some shoes might be just what it takes, it''d be great to get me head off this stupid writers block..."Matlin muttered.
"What'd you say Matlin?..." Rosa asked
"Nothing..." Matlin said.
The group of girls decided to go shopping and then have some lunch. While Matlin had fun with her friends, her thoughts went to a certain someone who was the inspiration for her music.
"I wonder what he's up to right now..."Matlin thought before she followed her friends for a shopping day.
