The Many Kids of Danny Fenton
Chapter 13: Eddie Part II
Eddie quickly made his way into the kitchen.
He wasn't too surprised by the fact that his whole family is already there, since his mom's banshee cry was the greatest alarm clock known to man or monster kind. Heck, the only thing more potent was his dad's ghostly wail but thankfully dad wasn't going to use THAT in the house...not after the last time, when one of his enemies made a surprise attack and smashed the garage.
On the bright side, they got a new car.
Anyway, Eddie saw that his dad was at the table while his sisters were already there, distracted by their own thing and his brother looked pretty tired, probably from staying up late and playing video games.
Again...
At the table, his dad smiled after seeing an article about his fight with Kyle and Roxy 13, who had been caught going on a joyride with their dads motorcycle yesterday and got into all sorts of mischief. The two ghosts were stopped with no property damage, thanks to the newest generation of Team Phantom, under the leadership of Eddie Phantom, who didn't even need Danny's help to stop those ghostly delinquents.
"That's my boy..."Danny thought, smiling proud.
His mother however, still looked annoyed by his tardiness as she was still putting together a plate for him, since she always waits until everyone else ate before she made her own breakfast of toadstool tea and a moldy bagel with scream cheese, a standard monster-like breakfast.
Something about not wanting to mix up breakfast again, after his dad got sick from eating her fungus brownies when Eddie was a baby. Eddie felt the same, certain monster food could make him sick but that's only the EXTREME stuff but mild stuff like crab apple pie, he could handle and he even liked it too.
Anyway, back to the present situation, where the mother had her arms crossed and the son looked apologetic.
"There you are, where were you?..." His mom, Phantasma, demanded.
Eddie looked sheepish before walking over and kissing his mother on the cheek in an apologetic sort of way.
"Sorry mom, I didn't mean to keep you waiting...I...got distracted..." He said, looking down.
"You were talking with your friends again, weren't you..."His dad said, not even looking away from his newspaper.
Eddie flinched, wondering how he knew but sighed and sent a sheepish smile.
"Uh yeah, sorry. We were...just making plans for patrol..."Eddie said, since it wasn't a TOTAL lie.
They did talk about patrol...sort of.
"Yeah..."Danny said in a knowing tone but Phantasma spoke next.
"That's fine, as long as you remember to call your father or one of his team if it's something you can't handle..." Phanty lectured maternally.
"I will mom, I promise..." Eddie said
Eddie looked at the food and felt his stomach rumbled. His mom might not like eating human food but she was the best cook in the world, as far as they were concern.
"Breakfast looks great.."He said and his mother calmed down, going back to her usual perky self.
"Oh Eddie, who taught to be such a sweet talker?..."The mother said, giggling.
"Dad..." Eddie answered honestly
At the table, his dad, having finished reading, smiled and put down his newspaper.
"Anything else happened when you talked with your friends?..."Danny asked.
"Nothing important, dad..." Eddie said... "Just some school stuff.."
Again, not a total lie, school had been mentioned...sort of.
"School stuff, huh?..." Danny asked knowingly.
"Yeah dad, school stuff..."Eddie answered.
He didn't really want to go into the kind of details about WHAT he and his friends had been talking about with his parents.
It's too embarrassing.
The last thing he wanted was for his parents to give him love advice. He knew that they meant well but that could be both embarrassing and a potential situation for them to be overprotective too...or worse!
Try to "help" him out...or might not like some girl he ends up liking. Though, Eddie doubted since he didn't see his sweet, kooky mother acting like that.
That is more like something grandpa would do.
"I better handle this myself... who knows. I might meet someone Mom would pick fights with once we become parents..." He joked to himself.
"Well... if you're sure... I trust you..."
"Thanks Dad..."Eddie said before he noticed his little brother yawning again but his dad spoke to him first.
"Get enough sleep last night, Jackie?..." Danny asked his youngest boy.
"Uh huh, the morning is evil..." He said sleepily.
Danny looked to Phantasma in amusement..."Are we sure we didn't mix him up with one of Sam and CJ's somehow?..." He joked and Phanty laughed.
"He came in a packaged set, so unlikely..." She joked too, causing her husband to chuckle.
Their youngest son, on the other hand, did not find this funny.
"I'm not a Morgan!..." Jackie protested, while Danny messed with his hair and laughed.
"We know, son. We know, it was just a joke..."He said.
"Not a funny joke..." Jackie said with a pout, before going back to his third waffle, while his sisters sent him weird looks.
"Where does it all go, Bella?.." Luna whispered watching their littlest brother (by seven minutes) continue to eat his waffles.
"Who knows? Maybe his stomach is a black hole..." Bella whispered back.
"I heard that!..."Jackie said, annoyed.
"You were supposed to..." Bella said as Jackie pouted before he went back to eating.
Eddie laughed a bit at that.
"Move over, munchkins..."Eddie said, taking a plate and sitting down between Luna and Bella while his mom was still making her own breakfast.
Luna and Bella scooted over, letting their big brother sit between them.
"Still some left..." Luna said.
"Best hurry before Jackie decides he wants seconds..." Bella said.
"Seconds? You mean Tenths..." Luna pointed out with a laugh, much to Jackie's annoyance.
"I don't eat that much!..." Jackie went.
"I was only half kidding about you having more than seconds..." Luna responded.
"Maybe Mom and Dad are right and I am in the wrong family..." Jackie muttered.
"You're not, bro..." Eddie said..."I was there when mom had you guys. You're a Fenton..."
"Plus, you don't look anything like Aunt Sam or Uncle Christopher..." Bella said, as if it were obvious
"Even if you can eat like a dinosaur... we know you're our brother..."Luna teased
Eddie scowled at them and decided to help out his younger brother.
"Come on... Grandpa Jack eats like that too. So does Aunt Danielle..."Eddie said, trying to defend his brother.
Boys have to stick together, after all.
"But Grandpa Jack is really big, and Aunt Danielle fights ghosts almost as much as Dad. She burns as much calories as she eats..." Luna pointed out.
Eddie shrugged. He had no response to that.
"They have a point, Bro..."He admitted.
"I burn calories too by training..."Jackie defended himself.
"Playing doom on your computer isn't training Jackie..." Bella told him
"Plus, your aims awful..."Luna added.
"Oh... haha..." Jackie went as he stuffed his face, trying to ignore his fellow triplets.
"Okay, that's enough teasing your brother.."Danny said to his kids, who settled down.
"Sorry, Dad…" The girls said.
"Don't say sorry to me, say it to him..." He ordered.
"Sorry, Jackie…"The girls said, and Jackie didn't even look at them.
"Sure…"He said, while his father cleared his throat, getting the youngest boy's attention.
"Jackie..." Danny said in a warning.
Jackie heard this and sighed.
"I mean... apologies accepted..." Jackie said and his parents smiled in a pleased fashion.
As they continued to eat, Danny smiled nostalgically at his kids. If he squinted at Jackie and the girls hard enough, he could almost see himself and Jazz when they were that age, having these exact same discussions...
Or, close enough at least.
Now looked at him, a father of four and his sisters have families of their own too.
"Where does the time go?..." Danny thought.
"Dad? You okay?..."Eddie asked, snapping Danny out of it.
"Yeah...I just felt a little nostalgic..." Danny said.
"Anyway... everyone eat up..."He said as the girls managed to get their own food, while Jackie was still droopy with drowsy eyes as he kept eating his own food, though he felt some dread for some reason.
Most likely, it is school related.
"Why can't school be later?..." Jackie grumbled, confirming that theory.
"You should go to bed earlier, Jackie, then you won't be so cranky all the time..." Bella said in a lecturing sort of way.
"Like YOU get cranky if someone wakes you up early..." Luna asked teasingly.
"Maybe if someone didn't wake people up at the crack of dawn to play their keyboard..."Bella said in annoyance.
"It was one time..."Her sister said..."Unlike someone waking up to do her morning calisthenics ...every... single... morning..."She added.
"I have to train to stay in shape..." Bella defended herself.
"But why before the sun comes up?..." Luna asked in annoyance.
The house is quiet then..." Bella said.
"Except for you screaming like a monkey..." Jackie said while his sister sent him an annoyed look at that remark..."Ooh ooh ah ah..." He made monkey sounds
"Shut up, Jackson..."His sister yelled..."At least, I never flooded the bathroom in the middle of the night..."She reminded and Jackie looked away in shame.
"I told you, I thought there were bad ghosts in there..."Jackie tried to justify.
"How could you if you couldn't sense anything?..." Bella asked, since she still didn't understand how that happened.
"I was half asleep...plus, things look different in the dark..."Jackie defended.
"You blasted the shower head..." Luna said, annoyed her guitar was almost ruined during that incident.
"Give me a break, I said I was sorry..."Jackie said as Danny leaned over to Phanty
"He still caused less damage then when your dad visited last month..."He whispered to his wife.
"Be nice..." Phanty said while her husband sighed.
"I'm starting to sympathize with Dad's hate for Aunt Alicia..."Danny thought to himself.
He used to question their odd hate for each other. Now, he wishes he could tell his past self to be prepared.
Meanwhile, the nine year olds argument had devolved into childish mudslinging. But at least, they're not ACTUALLY mudslinging this time, unlike a certain event that happened a few weeks ago, when they got into a fight over who got to play Sumo Slammers 10, since they only owned two controllers.
"All the cleaning I had to do..." He thought miserably to the last time the triplets had a spat, while here, it was less dirty, it was just as loud and just as messy.
"Shut up, Jackie!.."His sisters yelled.
"Make me!..."The boy said.
"Children! Enough!..."Phanty said, trying to get her kids to calm down.
Her loud yell was enough to get their attention and her scolding look was enough to make them stop.
Danny was always impressed with how quick she was about to reign their kids.
"What a woman..."He thought as the kids settled down.
"Sorry Mom..." They went.
This calmed her down but once her back was turned, Jackie blew a raspberry at his sisters, which they both returned.
Meanwhile, Eddie rolled his eyes at the triplets antics.
Yeah, he has triplet siblings, 2 girls named Bella and Luna and a little brother named Jackson, or Jackie for short, named after his Grandpa Jack. Part of Eddie thought that their dad had named their brother that to offend their mom's dad, the Phantom who still hated their father and Eddie knew that it was mutual.
It was just a part of their life.
An annoying part of life, anyway.
Anyway, back to his little brother and sisters, a set of nine year old triplets who were either the best of pals or could be at each other's throats at any given time.
Like typical siblings, in hind sight.
Luna, Bella and Jackie all had white hair, with a single blue streak, akin to their mother and glowing green eyes, along with pale skin somewhere between their two parents, though with a light blue tinge too.
Luna had her hair in two pig tails with black ribbons and Bella wore her hair in a braid and blue ribbons. Jackson on the other hand, had short white hair, just like him, but with the blue streak and a few hairs standing up, much like his dad's hair used to as a kid. They all posses the glowing green eyes of their father and their mother's smile.
They were a handful but Eddie loved them all, just the same, even if they can be pretty crazy.
Anyway, after having made her breakfast, Phantasma sat down beside her husband and next to her children. However, her attention was (once again) on her husband.
The two adults at the table shared loving looks with each other, still very much in love. Danny smiled to Phantasma, his hand reaching out holding hers. Bringing his hand up, he kissed her wedding ring before kissing her knuckles and smiling up to Phantasma, still feeling pretty romantic from their moment before their kids came barging in, wanting to eat. Phanty smiled while the triplets looked grossed out, and Eddie too to a lesser extent.
"Oh, brother..." Eddie said as his parents started to get gross again, especially as his dad kept kissing mom's hand and they started using their mushy pet names.
"Oh my, haunting hunk..."Phanty giggled amorously.
"My spooky beauty..."Danny growled as the two leaned in and shared a kiss, much to the disgust and horror of their younger children.
"Eww! Parent stuff..." Jackie and Bella said.
"Ahh! The horror! I'm blind!..." Luna said, loudly covering her eyes, while their parents laughed.
"You'll understand when your older, kids..." Danny said before kissing his wife's cheek, earning a giggle from her.
"Yuck..." Jackie said, gagging a bit and his sisters looked just as grossed out.
Eddie rolled his eyes.
He was mostly immune to his parents PDA's at the table after years and years of it, even if he still felt unnerved sometimes. Thankfully, his parents stopped, though they still had amused looks on their faces.
It's like they enjoyed messing with their kids.
"You kids will understand when you find your own perfect match..."Phantasma said to her kids in a sing-song voice.
"Agreed..." Danny said with a smile to the kids, who were in denial.
"Yeah, right. There's no way I'm going to ever be all lovey-dovey with a boy...Bella said and Luna nodded in agreement.
"Or me with a girl..." Jackie said..."With the exception of Ida and Merri, all girls are gross..."He said.
"Oh, you are on your own for that one, bro..." Eddie said, since he noticed that Bella and Luna looked insulted at that remark.
"And what are we?..." Luna asked, annoyed.
"You two aren't girls. You're my sisters..." Jackie said, going back to his food.
Bella grabbed a handful of eggs, about to throw it at Jackie but stopped under the glare of her parents.
"Bella... we made it clear... no food fights in this house..." Phantasma said.
The mostly ghost girl grumbled putting down the food and back on her plate while her brother smirked before sticking his tongue out briefly.
"Brothers..."She grumbled, eating the eggs.
"Sisters..." Jackie responded with a similar grumble.
"Are all boys such jerks?..." Luna asked.
Their mother heard this and laughed in her usual cackle.
"I remember I said the same thing when I was your age, but that all changed when I met your father..."Phanty sent as she sent another loving look to her husband.
Danny gladly returned it, while the triplets looked worried.
"And I am sure you're brother will bring someone special sooner or later..."Danny said, while Eddie blushed.
"Dad..."Eddie said.
"Is there someone special?..."Phanty asked and Eddie blushed harder.
"N-no…"He said and his mother smiled wider, leaning in closer to her oldest son.
"You're hiding something son, I know it..."She said and Eddie shook his head.
"I'm not hiding anything..." Eddie promised.
He really wasn't.
His mother nodded.
"Uh huh, uh huh..."She said and for a moment, Eddie thought she had bought it.
Unfortunately, she then she got back in Eddies face in excitement.
"What's her name?..."She asked.
Eddie's blush practically turned him pink, despite his blue-ish skin tone.
"She doesn't have a name, cause there isn't anyone..."He said but his mom cackled again, still not believing him.
The mother chuckled internally at her son's antics. To young and in love, or in this case have a crush.
"Don't try to hide her..."His mother said in a sing-song way.
"I can't hide someone who doesn't exist..."He said as he sent a pleading look to his dad, who just shook his head.
"Eddie should know better by now, there is nothing that can stop your mother from getting what she wants..." Danny thought in amusement as his wife continued.
"Ooh Eddie, like mother like son..."She said before leaning closer, as if whispering. "Don't worry, I promise that I 'll be nice to whoever she is. I won't be like your grandpa..."She whispered that part to him.
"It's not like that, mom..." Eddie said embarrassed before he sighed.
"Great ANOTHER thing to worry about..."He thought in dismay at the thought of his GRANDPA getting involved in his love life.
"Is it Sunny?..." Phanty asked but Eddie shook his head.
"No, we are just friends..."Eddie said but his mother continued.
"Well, I know that Selene is dating your friend CJ...is it Donna? She's a nice girl, even if her mother can be pretty braggy..."Phanty said, going through the girls in her son had in his life.
Danny looked to his wife, confused.
"I thought you liked Kim..."He said jokingly.
"I do, but she's still braggy..." Phanty said.
Sure, she had expressed some jealousy upon learning that they used to date, but got over it and the two woman had managed to get along.
"Well... not like she and her mother don't have the skills to back it up..." Eddie went with a small smile.
Phantasma then had a very nervous look on her face.
"It isn't...Wanda, is it?..."Phanty asked, trying not to let it affect her.
Wanda Wilson, is the daughter of Danny's friend and the most insane mercenery in the universe, Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool. Also, unlike her father, she was completely sane but she did have her dad's sense of humor and martial arts skills.
The banshee grimaced as the thought entered her mind.
Phanty had nothing against the girl, she was sweet, polite and one of their preferred babysitters for date night but her father is...well, let's just say he could make the anyone looks sane. Even the Warner's...sometimes.
"Mom... I love you, but I assure you I have no such feelings for Wanda..." Eddie replied.
"You sure?..." The mother asked, just to be safe.
"She's just a friend..." Eddie promised. ."Besides, she's like three years older than me..."He pointed out.
"Okay..." Phanty said going back to her task.
Glancing aside, Eddie saw his father look relieved as he checked his phone before putting it back.
The father was concerned he'd get a call from the merc. Eddie would of questioned that but at that moment, Phanty continued to grill her son about potential prospects.
"So there's nobody right now?" Phantasma asked with knowing eyes focused on her eldest. Her son didn't like the grin she wore. "You don't have to be afraid of anything, and we won't start planning any weddings soon."
"Well I won't," Danny quipped in. "But I actually can't say the same thing with your mother."
Meanwhile, Eddie turned invisible,as he blushed more.
"No, it's not. Look, don't go planning any wedding yet mom...Look, there isn't anyone. There's just a dance on Friday but-..."
He was cut off when his mother shrieked happily, making Eddie and his younger siblings wince, though Danny was used to it by now.
"A dance! Why didn't you tell me?!..." She asked.
"For this exact reason..." Eddie said miserably but his mother didn't hear since she was too busy, gushing now.
"Oh Eddie, you'll have so much fun just like your father and I did..." Phanty said, thinking about their first time dancing with Danny at her first school date.
"Mom..." Eddie went, but was ignored.
"Who are you going to ask? Have you gotten your suit yet? Do you need help with transportation?..."Phanty asked excitedly.
"Easy there, my Spectral sweetheart, let the boy answer..."Danny said as he noticed his son looked a little...overwhelmed.
Eddie was.
"Sometimes his mom can be pretty scary when she gets...enthusiastic..."Eddie thought, before shaking his head.
He needed to set the record straight and now!
"I... don't think I'll be wearing a suit..." Eddie said.
Phanty's smile dropped.
"But... you need one for the dance..."She said while her son shook his head.
"I don't even know if I am going, I don't have a date..."Eddie said, answering all of his mother's questions.
"Oh... I see..." Phanty said, somewhat disappointed. "Have you... asked anyone?..."She asked.
Eddie shook his head and now his parents are confused.
"But why not?.."She asked and Danny was confused too.
Eddie sighed.
"Most girls I know are either old friends or fangirls... the former is too awkward, the latter is too annoying, so I don't really have anyone in mind. I might not even go..."Eddie said.
Danny heard this and while he knew that he can't make his boy go, he can at least say this.
"Friday's a long way away, who knows? You might find someone between now and then..." Danny said.
"Not likely..." Eddie said while Danny sent him a smile.
"I thought the same way the first time I did that dating service when I was your age and before long, I met your mother and look at us now..."Danny said as his wife kissed his cheek at that.
"Eww!..." His siblings went.
Phanty shook her head and cackled a bit.
"Oh, don't be like that you three, love is perfectly natural..." Phanty told them smiling, nostalgically to Danny.
"Right, my haunting hunk?..."She said to her husband, who nodded.
"Right, my spooky beauty..."He chuckled.
Before they could resume embarrassing their children at the table, Eddie interrupted.
"Guys, this isn't helping..."He said.
"Oh right..." Danny said, looking to his oldest son.
"Eddie, I know asking a girl to a dance isn't the easiest thing to do..." Danny laughed, "I remember the first time I did it, my pants fell down..."
Eddie made a face at that, one that registered as "... what?" and Danny realized it.
"Not like that! My powers were still new and I had trouble controlling them..."He explained.
"Oh..."Eddie said, seeing the sense.
Still, he never though his dad went through something like that. Especially since women seem to throw themselves at him, even the evil ones, though they were dealt with by both him and Phanty.
Speaking of the ghostly woman, she spoke next.
"Oh yeah...it was with that Paulina girl. You liked her back then..." Phanty commented.
The mother felt no malice or jealousy for the girl, she means it, really. Even though she once saw a letter from her in the mail...to Danny. Luckily she need some kindle to help start the fireplace.
"Yeah..." Danny blushed in embarrassment..."Anyway, my point is that you can still get a girlfriend. You are a great guy and you can get any girl you want. You first have to walk up to her and talk..."He said.
"Yeah right..."Bella said sarcastically and her fellow triplets snickered.
Eddie heard them and was not amused.
"Hey, I so can get a girlfriend. I just choose not to since most girls I know are just fangirls.. I want a girl who actually likes me for me..."Eddie confessed.
"You'll find her, son..."Danny said in an encouraging way.
"Sure you don't want our help. I'm sure we can get in touch with some old friends with daughters not seeing anyone..."Phanty suggested but Eddie shook his head.
"No offense, but I want to decide for myself..."Eddie said, since that situation would be too embarrassing.
All the while, his siblings were laughing and mock gagging.
"Eww... Eddie getting a girlfriend? Yuck!..." Bella went.
"So wrong!..." Luna said with a snicker.
"You said it..."Jackie said.
"Hey..."Eddie said annoyed, while Danny then looked over to the other three
"Don't be like that. Before you know it, you three will be going to your first dance and be talking about dates too..."The father said while the triplets looked unnerved now.
"Us?!..." All of them went.
The three youngest Fentons continued shouting denials and disgust at the prospect of romance. Eddie rolled his eyes at his little siblings denial of ever growing up and falling in love, before going back to his breakfast.
At least his parents were focused on the triplets now, instead of the dance at his school and talking about girls and dates...
It was even more awkward than he thought. Thankfully, his folks moved on to other matters.
"Come on everyone, eat up. I have to get to work and you all have to get to school..."Danny said as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Okay, dad..."Luna said.
"Okay, dad..."Bella repeated.
"Sure, dad..."Jackson said.
The three continued to eat and occasionally talking to each other, another routine breakfast in the Fenton house.
"I can't wait to play my new song for music class..."Luna said..."It'll make everyone scream..."She said.
"Is that a good thing? Last time you broke a window with a high note..."Bella said.
"Hey!..."Luna said.
"Bella..." Phanty said
"What I just said the truth..." Bella shrugged, taking a sip of her juice.
Her mother still sent her a scolding look.
"Bella, be nice. Ms. Grimwood told me that you have been pretty distracted during music class..."Danny said.
Yes, the girls attend Grimwood's finishing school but unlike most students, they don't board there due to living in the human world. His brother attends a human school, Casper Elementary but his parents were considering letting him attend Monster High when he's older. They had a similar talk about Eddie when he was the triplets age and in the end, they let him choose where he'd be the most comfortable.
Jackie was a smart kid. He'd make the choice that was best for him when the time comes.
Now, back to the talk about the girls grades at school.
"But music class is so boring..."Bella whined, while her mother sent her a stern look.
"It's part of the curriculum..."Phanty said. "And I want both of you to try in ALL of your classes..."She said before turning to her other daughter, who had been snickering but stopped once the attention was on her.
"That goes for you too Luna, your math grades have been slipping..."Phanty said, recalling that C she got on her last test.
Her daughters pouted but stopped upon seeing the even more stern look on her face.
"Yes, mom..."Bella and Luna said.
The family continued to eat their breakfast together and did their own thing.
Danny was leisurely eating his pancakes, eggs and bacon as his wife was sipping her toadstool tea right now. Eddie was enjoying his first waffle, while Jackie was on his third maybe fourth waffle.
Meanwhile, Luna was listening to her doppelgänger a rock star with the same name as hers sing "Play it Loud", while Bella was watching a video of her favorite daredevil, Kick Buttowski, on her phone as he just jumped over a shark tank with his motor cycle.
"Go Kick!.."Bella cheered, only to stop when Luna started singing to the lyrics of her song.
"Play It Loud! Play It Loud!~..."Luna sang, much to her fellow triplet's annoyance.
"Don't you ever get tired of that song?..." Bella asked as Luna took her headphones off.
"Do you ever get tired of watching that same video?..." Luna retorted.
"Do you both ever get tired of having this same argument?..."Jackson said in a snarky way.
"Zip it, Jackie..."The two girls said in union while their brother stuck his tongue out at the two of them again.
The girls glared back at them and Eddie sighed in annoyance.
They might be triplets but Jackie, Luna and Bella were different. Luna was a music lover and wanted to be a musician while Bella was the adrenaline junkie and wanted to follow in the family business, not to mention she is also had dreams in stunts and action, like a stunt woman. Meanwhile, Jackson, as the only boy of the set, was the quieter one of the set and and would rather play video games, tinker with some gadgets with their maternal grandparents or draw in his sketchbook.
Together, all three of them could be annoying little troublemakers. Despite how annoying they can be, Eddie still loved them, even if they can drive him crazy.
Like right now, with their arguing.
"Tone-deaf diva!..."
"Weight lifting monkey!..."
"Make them stop!..."Jackie whined as he covered his ears while Eddie rolled his eyes.
"Knock it off, munchkins..." Eddie said pushing them apart gently before they could start another argument
"Don't call us munchkins..."The triplets all said.
"I will when you guys are taller then me..."He said in a joking way.
"Behave!..."Phanty chided in a maternal way and her kids stopped when she got her "mom look" again that can be even scarier than most of the super villains their father fights now a days.
"Yes, mom..."The kids said.
"Good..." Phanty said, smiling before going back to her own breakfast.
The family continued their meal in relative silence for a while before Bella looked to her big brother, putting a cutesy smile on her face.
"Oh, big brother..." Bella said sweetly
"What do you want?..." He asked, knowing when she used that tone, it was when she or Luna wanted something.
Bella continued her cutesy act, scooting in closer to Eddie.
"She must really want something..." Eddie thought, since Bella is a total tomboy and rarely ever used the cutesy act.
He knew what to expect from Luna when she did it, usually it was for junk food or favors. Sometimes both.
While Jackie didn't do the cutesy act, he would either sneak his way in or use his "bro's stick together card"and he'd usually want either ask for help against their sisters, someone to play video games with or even just to hang out with Eddie and his friends when they weren't patrolling...but Eddie had no idea what to expect from Bella.
Thankfully, he got his answer when his little sister spoke up next, using her "sweet" voice, which she used whenever she tried to get something from either of their parents.
"Eddie, when can we fight bad guys with you and daddy?... " Bella asked
"When you are fourteen..." He and his dad answered at the same time.
That is around the age his dad had let him start fighting ghosts and protecting people. He would have loved it much earlier but his mother and father were super strict about their safety and needing training first, and considering the close calls he's had, it was pretty fair, like with Skulker and his death trap last week.
He still had some sore spots from THAT one, even if his healing factor healed any and all bruises.
Anyway, there was NO way he was taking his baby sister anywhere near that nutcase or any other bad guy, at least not without training first and making sure that she will be okay.
His mother was the same on that matter.
"Bella, we've been over this before, you cannot fight bad guys yet, you are too young. Look, when your Eddie's age when he started, we'll talk, same to you guys too..." Phanty looked to her other two youngest..."Is that clear?..."She said sternly.
"Yes, mom..." Luna said.
"Uh huh..."Jackie nodded
Bella pouted but stopped upon seeing the stern look on her mother's face.
"I said "Is that clear?", Bella Jasmine Fenton?..." Phanty repeated with her "mom look" at full power.
Bella gulped nervously at her mom using her full name. Her mother can be pretty scary when she tries to be, and right now. Bella was plenty scared. Luna gulped nervously too. Her mom wasn't even glaring at her and yet, she felt a shiver go up her spin.
"Bella..." Phanty repeated in a sterner, motherly voice.
"Yes, mom..." Bella said in defeat.
Phanty nodded.
"Good..." She said going back to her breakfast.
She did notice the bummed look on her daughter's face and decided to cheer her up a little.
"Sweetie, you are a strong, talented girl and I know you will make a great hero, when you are ready..."Phanty said lovingly to her daughter.
Despite her disappointment, Bella cracked a smile at that.
"Really?..." Bella asked
"Absolutely..." Danny agreed..."But wait till you're fourteen..."He added quickly.
Bella sighed.
"Fine..."She said, knowing that there is no way around it.
Danny smiled as he ruffled her hair a bit before going back to eating.
"It won't be long, princess. When your old enough, you're going to go down in history as a great hero..."He said, making his daughter smile at that.
"Thanks, daddy..."She said, feeling better,
Danny smiled.
"You're very welcome..."He said.
Phanty smiled at that, so did Eddie and the rest of the siblings.
The very unique family soon went back to their breakfast, hoping that they had their fill of drama.
For the morning, anyway.
10 minutes later
The Fenton family was wrapping up breakfast.
Danny finished his breakfast and stood up, kissing Phantasma on the cheek.
"Breakfast was delicious as always, my spooky beauty..."Danny said to his wife, who laughed.
"Glad you enjoyed it, my king of screams..."Phanty said before kissing him, once again, to the chagrin and disgust of their children.
"Yuck..." Bella said again
Her parents chuckled after pulling away.
"You'll understand when your older, Bella..." Phanty said
"Not likely..." Bella said dismissively.
"You said it, sister..." Luna agreed
"Parents are weird..."Was all Jackie said.
"You said it, brother..."Luna and Bella said as they nodded in agreement
The parents were clearing the table, while Eddie was still a little embarrassed with his mothers trying to get involved with his love life, or lack of one, to be more precise.
"Could she please be a bit more... patient?..." He wondered to himself
He loved his mom, he really did but if left uncheck, she could get over involved in his love life
"Not that I have one..." Eddie thought.
Though for a second an old friend came to mind, but the ghost boy quickly shut it he thought out.
This girl he had known since they were kids but knew that they are only friends.
"What are you doing, Eddie?..."Luna asked, confused.
"Nothing, munchkin..."Eddie said, running his hand through the girls hair making them laugh.
"Eddie..." They said with smiles on their face
"What?..."He said in a faux-confused way, making them laugh more.
Their parents saw them getting along and smiled.
"These are the best moments..." His father said, chuckling before he noticed that he didn't have something with him.
"I am going to go get my phone..."Danny said as he left the kitchen.
"Check by your bedside table, dear..." Phanty called out.
"Thank you, my spooky beauty..." Danny called back before leaving.
Meanwhile, his wife to continue talking to their children.
"Luna, Bella, Jackie, don't forget after school, we're going to Fenton Works for your check up..."Phanty said.
Due to her children's very unique DNA, Phanty prefers having her in-laws checking on them, rather than some inexperienced doctor to treat hybrids.
Okay, mom..."The triplets said.
The triplets were always excited to visit their grandparents at Fenton Works, since grandma Maddie always has a bunch of great snacks for them and Grandpa Jack has a bunch of neat toys he lets them play with, though he calls them "model replicas".
Their grandparents were really fun and it was better then going to Aunt Jazz's house who always made them play educational games or with their OTHER grandfather.
While they love Grandpapa The Phantom very much, he can be pretty...um...intense?
Yeah, that is the word their mom used to describe him.
Intense...
Grandpapa Phantom was very, VERY intense and they could recall one time, when they visited him in his realm in the Ghost Zone, he seem to have gotten annoyed when Jackie asked why he and their dad had the same ghostly name. They didn't get an answered because their mom asked them to help her in the kitchen, but they did hear grandpapa mutter something about "copy cats".
None of the triplets were sure what cats had to do with grandpapa or their dad.
Speaking of their dad, where is he?
"Hey, what's taking dad?..."Jackson asked, since he has been gone a while.
Phantasma frowned, realizing his point. Her husband should be back by now...unless-
Phanty used her powers and felt a familiar presence approach their home.
"Oh no..."
CRASSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!
The house shook as they heard a loud crash and a familiar arguing in a distance.
"SERIOUSLY, AGAIN!..."Danny shouted.
"YES AGAIN, BOY!..."A familiar, OVER DRAMATIC voice could be heard yelling, along with more crashing.
That only means one thing...grandpapa is here and he ran into dad first.
"Looks like grandpa is here..."Eddie snarked and Phanty let out an annoyed sound.
"Not again, I told him to call me before he visits..."She muttered under her breath.
Honestly, she loved her father very much but this was ridiculous. She and Danny have been married for 20 years now and her father STILL treated Danny like when they were teenagers.
The Phantom is many things, including very, VERY stubborn and VERY explosive. And from the sounds of it, she knew that she had to break them up before it got worse.
"Eddie honey, I know you have school but-..." Phanty paused but he knew what she was trying to ask.
"Sure mom, I'll help you break it up..." Eddie answered.
Eddie and Phantasma stood up , walking towards where the fighting was coming from.
When Phantasma passed Jackie , he could of sworn he heard her muttered "third time this month" under her breath
Once they walked out of the kitchen, the triplets all shared a look.
"Should we go help?..." Jackie asked his sisters
Bella and Luna looked to each other before shaking their little heads.
"No way..."They both said.
The nine year old girls knew better then to get in the middle of one of Grandpapa and Daddy's arguments
Only their mom could do that.
Well, her and Eddie, to be more precise. Everyone else just stood out of the way or were not ALLOWED to get involved, such as the triplets themselves.
They heard what sounded like glass shattering.
"You sure?..."Jackie asked.
He wasn't worried since his dad is really strong but these fights usually end up with something broken and their mom in a bad mood.
"Danny is strong, remember..."Luna said.
"Yeah. Besides, Grandpapa isn't evil, just cranky..."Bella said
"Uh huh..." Luna agreed.
"Real cranky.."Jackie agreed as he reached for another waffle, quickly eating it
Bella and Luna looked at Jackie weird.
"Where does it all go?..."They all thought simultaneously as the arguing continued in the living room.
In the living room
"Really resorting to ambush tactics..."Danny said as he sent a blast to The Phantom. "What's the matter, getting too old to fight me face to face?!..."
"Ha!..."The Phantom said as he dodged it.."You're a thousand years too early to fight me head on, boy!..."He spat.
"Or maybe you're a thousand years to old to fight ME!..." Danny quipped back, making his father-in-laws eyes glow red in anger.
"You'll pay for that one, BOY!..."The aging specter growled as an aura emerged.
"Bring it on!..." Danny challenged... "Dad!..." He said mockingly since Danny knew that The Phantom hated being called that by him.
The Phantom gave his son-in-law a pair of glowing knuckles as Danny gave a pair of his own before they clashed. The impact sent both back from the shock wave, though it sent The Phantom further back, indicating who was likely the more durable one.
Danny flew at the Phantom, throwing a kick. The Phantom grabbed Danny by the ankle, tossing him towards the lawn. But the halfa flipped around in mid air as he flew back. Danny flew hitting the Phantom in the face before he could react.
"I'm not going to lie, I really enjoyed that..."Danny thought
The Phantom shook his head from that impact, distracting him.
Danny flew up, hitting him in the nose and knocking the hat off his head.
Danny smiled
"'Okay, best Monday I've had in years..." Danny thought in satisfaction
The Phantom recovered, blasting him. Danny blocked, deflecting the blast easily.
Danny fired a blast, hitting the Phantom through the coffee table, Danny sighed, glad that at the very least, it was cheap.
Plus, it wasn't a gift, so Phanty wouldn't be too mad about it...
Hopefully.
Danny phased through a blast from his father in law and got more and more annoyed as the fight continued.
"Seriously! It's been decades! Don't you get tired of this?!..." Danny asked , annoyed.
"Of hating you? Never!..." The Phantom said.
"Yeah, well the feelings mutual..." Danny said, punching the Phantom in the face and through the wall.
"Mutual?! Ha! My hate for you goes beyond your puny limitations!..."The Phantom said dramatically.
Danny rolled his eyes at his hamminess.
"He's a bigger ham than the Fruitloop or Doctor Drakken..."Danny thought in annoyance as his hated father-in-law kept trying to destroy him and getting worse each year.
"You've yet to see how fay my own limitations are!..."The Phantom said as he fired again.
Danny dodged, letting the blast graze him before sending him a sharp glare.
"Yeah well, BRING IT! ..." Danny said in agreement as the two clashed again.
Danny and the Phantom flew at each other. Both of them were at it again, throwing insults and their fists.
"I swear... every second I have to be reminded who fathered my grandkids make me want to destroy you!..."The Phantom yelled.
"Don't kid yourself. If it were up to you, Phanty would have NEVER met ANYONE! Ever!..."Danny yelled.
"EXACTLY! You are not good enough for my daughter! NO ONE IS!..."The Phantom yelled for the millionth time.
"Is that all you care about? Who you think isn't good enough!..."Danny said sarcastically.
"When it comes to you, yes!..."The Phantom yelled.
Danny was trying really hard not to let loose and knock the Phantom through the house the hard way...even if it was oh, so tempting.
"Honestly, it's like you don't care about anything but what you don't like..." Danny snarked.
"I have plenty of reasons not to care for you, boy!..." The Phantom sneered and Danny rolled his eyes.
"Will you quit calling me boy, I'm almost forty years old! Besides, if it weren't for me, four of your favorite people wouldn't exist!..." Danny said, talking about the Phantoms grandchildren.
"The only reason you've given me not to hate about you but I've got plenty of reasons to despise you..."The foul tempered ghost said.
"Yeah well, I have plenty of valid reasons to put you in a Thermos and leave it somewhere nobody can find it..." Danny said in agreement as the two clashed again.
"You wouldn't dare!..."The Phantom said with a hateful look.
Danny returned it.
"I would!..."He said, meaning it.
"Phanty wouldn't forgive you... though it would give me a valid reason to end you... so go right ahead!..." The Phantom yelled..."Maybe then, she'll come to her senses, finally divorce you and let me destroy you..."The old ghost said.
"Phanty and the kids are the ONLY reason I am not pulling the thermos out as we speak! Also, you can find any reason to want to waste me, but being married to your daughter is also the ONLY reason I didn't make you into a stain on the wall for attacking Danielle all those years ago!..."Danny said.
"I've apologized for that..." The Phantom reminded.
"A backhanded one at best..."Danny yelled.
Even if it has been decades since then and the Phantom, thankfully, hasn't tried to do anything to hurt Dani, Danny would never forgive him for scaring his little sister, who was just a child when that happened.
It still ticked him off.
And he wasn't the only one. While Dani knew it was an accident, she also wanted nothing to do with the guy. Even after he apologized.
It was only when she decided to get revenge that things cooled down. Danny could still laugh since what she had done to him was still one of his favorite memories though Danny had to step in and made sure his grudge is with him and to stay away from his family, including Danielle.
"Any issues you have with my family... you take it out on me!..."Danny had told him when that happened.
"Gladly..."The Phantom said before they had another one of their fights.
Back to the present situation, both specters were glaring at each other once more.
Danny and the Phantom flew at each other, sending a barrage of blows at each other.
The Phantom could float all he wanted, it was clear he didn't have any sort of edge on Danny. The past years had not been kind to him.
"Next time, maybe you should apologize again," Danny said as he conjured a shield.
"Fine! But that won't mean a thing when I'm through with you!..."The Phantom said, his eyes glowing red again.
Danny's eyes glowed bright green.
"Keep dreaming, Old Man!..."
"It happens to be my favorite dream...one where my daughter divorces you and has full custody of my grandchildren ..."The Phantom mocked.
Danny growled.
He wanted to say every horrible curse word he wasn't allowed to say as a kid but he needed to calm down. He didn't want the kids to have heard that. They loved their grandpapa for some reason, though he wasn't the favorite, despite giving gifts every time he comes over.
Plus Phanty would explode if the kids heard any of the curse words from them, so he settled for using his fists.
"Bring it..." Danny said cracking his knuckles as he kicked his father-in-law back.
The two Phantoms continued to glare at each other their eyes glowing green and red before they flew at each other again.
The Phantom fired a blast at Danny, who easily dodged it.
"You need to chill..." the older halfa quipped with fist out again.
"And you need to learn your manners! And when I'm through with you, it will be a lesson you'll never forget!..." The Phantom yelled as he grabbed the ghost man by the collar.
But Danny was not threatened or amused and quickly threw him off.
"That's all the reason I need to hate you but Phanty and the kids are the reason I don't go all out..." Danny said
That and his promise to never go down the road that would turn him into his dark self but this windbag didn't need to know about that.
No, he just needed to get out of the house before the kids saw this. He didn't want Jackie Bella and Luna to see their dad and 'Grandpapa' trying to rip each other apart...
Again...
For the umteenth time.
The two went back to fighting each other. As Danny and the Phantom fought, Eddie walked passed them.
"Hey grandpa..."Eddie said, pretending not to notice how close his dad's fist was to his grandpas head head
The two stopped fighting, Danny powered down while The Phantom stopped his antagonizing to smile at his grandson. The violent lunatic that was Danny's father-in-law/foe melted away into the doting grandfather he always become around his grandchildren.
"Eidolonius, how are you, my boy?..."The Phantom said, happy to see him.
"I'm doing terrible, Grandpa..." Eddie said, using old school monster slang when talking to his grandpa..."You look especially horrific today..."
"Why thank you, my boy..." The Phantom said..."It's a new trench coat a gift from the count..."He said, showing off.
"Well, he has excellent taste as can be expected from a Dracula..." Eddie said.
Soon enough, the rest of the family came rushing in.
"Grandpapa..."Bella and Luna said as they hugged their ghostly grandfather.
"Oh, my two princesses of the Ghost Zone..." The Phantom said, hugging the two girls..."You look especially horrific today, just like your mother..."He said as a compliment.
"Thank you, grandpapa..."The girls said at the same time.
The Phantom then turned to see young Jackson.
"Hi grandpapa..."Jackson said as The Phantom smiled at his youngest grandson.
"And Jackson, my boy. You grow stronger and stronger each day..." The Phantom complimented ..."A benefit of being your MOTHER'S son..."He said, sending a look to his son-in-law.
Danny ignored the insult.
He could try to be nice
Key word: TRY.
At least until the kids were at school...Then he'd kick the trench coat wearing creep out of his house.
Or, he would if Phanty didn't step in the way.
"Phanty?" They both went.
Phantasma soon appeared before her father, with her arms crossed as she sent looks between her husband and her father.
"Father..."She said.
"Ah, my darling Phanty, how are you?..."The Phantom said in a happy tone.
"I am fine. Father, what brings you here?..."She asked.
The Phantom, not seeing how annoyed his daughter was with him disrupting their morning, answered,
"Does a grandfather need a reason to see his beloved grandchildren?..."He asked and Phanty rolled her eyes.
"No but a reason for picking a fight with my husband would be nice..."Phanty thought, still a little miffed.
"I'm happy you chose to pay US a visit..."She said since her kids were close by, though she leaned closer to her father to whisper what was really on her mind.
"Why are you here, really?..."She asked.
"I really am just paying a visit..."Her father said, meaning it.
"Then why pick a fight with my husband...AGAIN?!..."She said, barely resisting the urge to shriek.
The Phantom saw his daughter was annoyed with him and tried to soothe her temper.
"I just wanted to make sure his strength hadn't started to decline..."The phantom said..."You know how fragile humans can be when they get older..."He added in a condescending way... "They just can't do what they used to..."
"Must resist punching him. Must resist punching him..." Danny thought, resisting the urge, at least until the kids were out of the house.
He didn't want to set a bad example for his kids, even if The Phantom is setting a bad example at being a grandpa.
Bella had heard her grand papa's words and had this to say on the matter
"Dad's plenty super, grandpapa..."Bella said.
"Yeah..." Luna said.
"Of course he is, my poison apple but still he's still only partly human..."He said sending a dirty look to Danny.
Danny returned it and Phanty tried to break it up before they fought again and wrecked any more furniture.
Again!
Phanty was going to shriek when she saw what they'd done already
"Danny..." She whispered... "No amount of checks you get for marketing or doing photo-shoots with Ben or Kim is worth damaging the furniture... again..." She said.
Danny sighed, realizing her point. He remembered the last time the Phantom had ambushed him and they had to replace everything in the living room as a result.
Ben and Kim didn't have to deal with this stuff. No, they had less stressful stuff like alien princesses fighting over who got to marry him or mad scientists stealing destructo rays
You know, problems that could be solved by punching
"I have gifts for all of you..." The Phantom said happily to his grandchildren.
Danny rolled his eyes.
"He can go from lunatic to doting grandparent in under a minute..."Danny muttered, used to this man's mood swings, but that doesn't mean he likes them.
"Oh, my two princesses of the Ghost Zone..." The Phantom said, handing the two girls their presents.
A new headphones for Luna and a skateboard for Bella. The girls cheered excitedly, holding their gifts
"Thanks, Grandpapa!..." The girls exclaimed before they floated up and hugged their grandfather happily.
After that, The Phantom then turned to the boys.
"Now, for you two boys..." The Phantom pulled out more gifts for the boys.
A new video game for Jackson and for Eddie, a leather jacket with EP monogrammed on the back pocket.
"Wow, thanks Grandpa..." Eddie said, liking the jacket and quickly put in on while Jackie cheered about getting the new video game.
Danny had to give the Phantom credit. For one thing, he knew his grandchildren.
That was like the only thing he could give him credit for.
He could give more credit to his bizarre friend that even his wife didn't approve of. Granted, he knew few people who did approve of his friend, but still.
"How is this guy more frustrating then Deadpool?..." Danny thought, annoyed..."I mean, he's a sword swinging lunatic and he doesn't act overprotective with boys being near his daughter...then again, most boys would be too scared of making her cry but still..."
Danny was pulled out of his thoughts by the Phantom blasting at him. Danny barrel rolled around the blasts, which destroyed a lamp.
The kids, who had been preoccupied with their presents, flinched and finally noticed.
"Grandpapa? Why'd you do that?..." Luna asked, seeing the ruined lamp.
"My finger slipped, my sweet..." The Phantom told his granddaughter
Danny rolled his eyes, which glowed.
"On the bright side, that thing wasn't a present from anyone..." Danny thought..."'Plus it was kind of ugly..."
Phanty kept all the sentimental stuff in case her father visited, just in case he had anymore of his "accidents".
It didn't stop his wife from getting annoyed with her father.
"Father! That was a new lamp and I got it on sale in Magus Bazaar..."Phanty said, annoyed.
"I apologize my dear, I will replace it..."The Phantom promised.
"Not the point!..." She said.
"What she said..." Danny said.
Sure, he thought the lamp was kind of ugly but he wasn't going to admit that to his wife, since she was so fond of it and Danny couldn't stand his father in law destroying anything in his house
It was the principal of the thing. Besides, it was any excuse to get the upper hand on The Phantom and Danny, at the very least can enjoy that since at least HE was not the one to break the lamp.
"How thoughtless..." Danny said with arms crossed, looking a bit smug.
Danny and the Phantom glared at each other whenever they thought the triplets weren't looking and when they THOUGHT Eddie didn't notice. But the oldest boy wasn't five anymore. He knew his grandfather and dad didn't get along
Like Superman and Lex Luthor but less explosive...just barely, anyway.
And while Eddie loves his grandfather, these attacks were strong on the line. And there only so much a ghost boy could take.
"You better be careful with your words, boy. Humans can only dish out so much..." The Phantom almost snarked out.
"Why don't you back off with the human comments, huh?..." Danny told the Phantom..."Your grandchildren are a quarter human, after all"
"The ONLY part of them that reminds me of you..."The Phantom said dismissively.
Danny was really tempted to punch him for that one ...or punch him AGAIN...
"Thankfully, they seem to favor Phantasma more, so there is that..."The Phantom said rudely and Danny growled at that remark.
His fists glowed.
Danny really wanted to hit his father in law again.
"Back off, Old Man!..."He yelled.
He has tried being patient but this ghost really knew how to work his last nerve. There is only so much a man can take from an obnoxious, in-law...especially one who LITERALLY tries to waste him during each encounter.
"Danny!..." Phanty chastised.
"I'm sorry Phanty but he started it..."Danny said.
Phanty couldn't argue. She knew her father had been starting things since their blind date, all because he was too overprotective and also for his belief that Danny copied his name.
That and she joined the dating service and dated her future husband behind his back for a long time and later got married against his wishes but she did it out of love.
Heck, she could marry the new King of Ghosts and he still wouldn't care since to him, she will always be his little ghoul.
"Please... no more fighting, Danny?..." She begged.
Danny looked to Phanty and nodded, powering down.
"Okay, Phanty..."Danny said to his wife.
The ghost man shared a tender moment as The Phantom grumbled under his hat.
However, once Phantasma stepped out of the room, things got heated up. Again.
"Listen to her, you copy cat..."The Phantom said in a snubbing way.
That got on Danny's last nerve.
"FOR THE LAST TIME! I never heard of you before meeting Phanty! The name was a play on my real name, Fenton... Phantom! Plus, you don't exactly have a trademark on that name... so BACK OFF!"
"You back off!..." The Phantom snapped back, changing his demeanor..."Boy..." He said hatefully.
"Father..." Phanty said in a nagging way to the old specter.
Seeing that he was caught, The Phantom backed down
"I'm sorry, my dear..."
"You need to behave yourself or you're not allowed to visit anymore!"
"It's not my fault! He started it!"
"I don't care WHO started it. I do NOT want this bickering near the kids OR in my house!..."Phanty whispered harshly, while Eddie was distracting his siblings from the "discussion".
"That stuff grandpapa got you guys is really cool..." Eddie said..."You should go put it away in your rooms so you can play with them after school..."He suggested and the kids smiled.
"Okay, Eddie..." They said, flying up into their rooms and Eddie went with them, as the adults kept their "silent" argument up.
"To pick a fight with me in the presence of your own children..." The Phantom shook his head in disapproval.
You are one to talk! You were the one who attacked me in my living room. Not to mention you were the one who started a fight in a school..."Danny said angrily... "should I ask how many time you started it?"
The Phantom didn't even try to deny himself
He just looked away, dismissive of Danny's anger.
"Look..." Danny calmed down. "Can we please drop it today?"
"Uncivilized fool..." The Phantom scoffed.
"Seriously!? I'm trying to be nice here since the kids like you! So for once drop the hostility!..." Danny yelled as he tried to bring order to the house, but The Phantom would have none of it.
"You need to be more ghostly Da-boy!..." The Phantom screamed, covering up his almost mishap.
Danny and Phanty blinked in surprise. Was the ghost finally calming down? It was hard to tell since they figured The Phantom would never accept the halfa.
It was more likely Superman would turn into a monkey or something, or something even crazier than that.
Danny has seen plenty of crazy in his life, even without being on Deadpool's bowling team to everything Vlad had thrown at him, on or off world. He's be surprised if anything astonished him any more.
Then again, Phanty manages to do that for him, not that he minds...or complains.
It was the greatest treasure he had...even if it meant having to deal with the World's worst father-in-law, who was still glaring dagger at him.
Danny glared them back.
Eddie looked ready to get in between his dad and grandpa but stopped when he saw the time
If he didn't go RIGHT now, he'd have detention
Again
"I'm heading to school, see ya..."Eddie said.
"Bye Eddie..."Danny said.
"Have a good day at school. Make good choices..." Phanty said
"I will, mom..."Eddie said.
"See ya Bella, Luna, Jackie..."He waved.
"Bye..." The triplets said while Eddie messed with their hair, getting laughs and giggles from the three of them.
"Have an awful day at school, Eidolonius..."The Phantom said, using the monster-like slang that he is used to.
"I will, grandpa..."He said before fazing out of the room.
"Kids, go get your things and get to the car, I will take you to school in a minute..."Phanty said to the triplets.
"Okay, mom..."The triplets said before flying away to get their things.
Once they were gone, the Phantom became hostile again and glared at his son-in-law. Danny sent the glare back. Phanty rubbed the bridge of her nose to calm down as she floated over to her husband while The Phantom kept his ghostly, glowing, glare in attempt to faze the halfa.
"Really, Danny? Again?..."She asked, annoyed
"He started it!..." Danny said.
"What was that?!..."The Phantom exclaimed.
"You're not deaf, you heard me..." Danny added
The Phantom growled, his temper acting up again.
"Do you want another demonstration on whose the TRUE Phantom?..."He snarled.
Danny smirked
"Is it the one whose beaten Pariah Dark, Vortex, Undergrowth, Nocturne and most of the Monster and human world's rogue list? Not to mention, I won't run when the Fright Knight comes for a fight..."Danny quipped.
The Phantom growled.
He refuses to admit that Danny has been holding back, ONLY because of Phanty still loved her dad for some reason and did not want him seriously hurt.
He was her father, after all.
And that meant something. Whatever it was, the ghost man couldn't tell.
The Phantom growled as he looked away, mulling over something, Phanty shook her head, as she knew another round was coming.
"My haunting hunk, please at least take it outside..."Phanty pleaded... "For me...and our furniture..."
"Okay, My Queen of Ghouls..." Danny nodded, kissing her on the cheek and enraging the Phantom even more.
"Hey, you keep off my daughter!..." The Phantom raged on and Danny rolled his eyes.
"We've been married for TWENTY YEARS! When will it get past your thick skull!?..." Danny shouted as he held onto his wife tighter.
As the two glared at each other, Phanty sighed.
"Today is going to be one of THOSE days, wasn't it?..."She muttered as the two male Phantom's kept glaring at each other.
Outside
Eddie walked out his house, just in time to hear a bunch of yelling. No doubt, his dad and grandpa had another one of their "spats".
He sighed.
"Well, on the bright side, at least the house is in one piece...this time..."He muttered as he could hear his mother nagging the two of them to stop.
At least, there were no explosions
This time
He glanced at his watch and saw how late it is.
"Oh man, I better get to school before Bloodgood gives me detention again..."He said as he put his backpack on.
That would totally put a damper on his plans for today. Eddie looked around so there wasn't any paparazzi around to pester him and make him late.
The last thing he needed was to deal with those vultures. They were almost as big a pain in the neck as Skulker or Box Lunch and her dad
Once he saw the coast was clear Eddie powered up his eyes glowed brighter green he got a ghostly aura and he felt a massive surge of power in his muscles
"PHANTOM UP!..."Eddie said as his eyes glowed brighter.
He soon took to the skies to go to his school.
To Monster High to another day of a freaky fine school.
