The Many Kids of Danny Fenton

Chapter 14: Eddie Part III

Eddie flew to school, unaware that some meddling authors and a certain Time Master were observing this particular day in his life.

Clockwork smiled as he changed from his adult form to his elder form.

"All seems to be in order so far but let us keep watching..."He said.

His guests, on the other hand, were still commenting on what they have seen so far.

"Looks like The Phantom hasn't changed much, not that I am surprised..."FP11 said.

"Neither am I. I have a feeling, he's going to be hurt harder than what any ghost could do..." BCW commented.

"That guy needs anger therapy..."61394 said before taking a fist full of popcorn..."Seriously, he makes Red Lanterns seem calm and they're all about getting angry..."He commented.

"I don't think there's a therapist, alive or dead, that would try to help with his issues..."FP11 said with a frown.

"At least, he doesn't have a red ring..." BCW said while 61394 gulped at the thought of such a thing.

That'd be terrifying.

"That's a relief for Danny..." 61394 said

"Agreed..." BCW said

The two authors talk about red rings quickly before the topic got changed by their boss.

Probably a good thing since this conversation wasn't going anywhere good.

"Danny and Phanty's look really strong, despite her dad's antics..."FP11 said with a smile.

"Yeah, they are. You know that love is something her father can't defy..."Clockwork said.

61394 nodded.

"That's true..."He said.

"If it weren't that strong, who knows how Eddie would have turned out..." BCW said.

"Probably like his gramps..." Number Boy says.

"That's a scary thought..."

FP11 decided to change the subject and looked at the frozen image of Eddie with his family, having breakfast together.

"Eddie has grown to be such a good kid and the triplets are so cute..."FP11 said happily.

"Yeah, they are..." 61394 said "But three half banshee babies crying? Yikes! I sure hope the house was noise proofed, for the neighbors sake at least..."

"It probably wasn't that bad. It kinds sounds harmonically adorable..." BCW said as he added. "Besides, Jack and Maddie could've given the couple some equipment for stuff like this...I think..."

"They made a portal to another dimension..." 61394 pointed out..."Plus, no one complains when there's explosions at their house..."

"True..." BCW said

"In fairness, I think some people were too afraid to confront them on it or got tired of trying..." FP11 said.

"I believe we should get back to the viewing..."The Time Master said.

"Agreed..."FP11 said as she turned to her friends/co-workers.

"Come on, guys..."She said.

The authors got back into their seats, getting ready to see more of Eddie and his family.

"Just a sec!..." 61394 pulled out a bucket of popcorn.

"Of course, we can't forget snack..." BCW commented with a smile.

"We're ready when you are Clockwork..." FP11 said.

Clockwork smiled at the three before he turned the viewing back on

"Are you gonna share those?" BCW asked.

"You guys want some?" 61394 asked.

Clockwork looked over his shoulder.

"Ready?" He asked.

The authors nodded.

Clockwork chuckled as they soon saw Eddie arrive at school, and continued to enjoy the show.

Present Time

Eddie soon landed in front of Monster High's Amity Park branch. He quickly ran into the school before the warning bell went off

"Made it..."He said in relief.

He then entered the large school, which was even bigger than the original one. After his dad saved the world and the human and monster world got closer, many places have learned to co-exist and there were more "unique" schools that had opened up in the last 2 decades.

Much like the original school in New Salem, which is now run by Count Vladimir Dracula(aunt Sibela's uncle, BTW), Head Mistress Bloodgood and other powerful monsters open more branches across the country in order to help integrate the monster community with the human community.

Such places include Amity Park, Greendale, Gardenia, Los Angelas and New York, among others.

The fact that they now allow in more humans or "normies" as they call them, though aunt Sam still hated that word, was a change. Though some had enrolled before, but not in the same numbers as today.

Now about a quarter of the students were regular humans and the rest were freaky fine monsters. Then again, everyone at Monster High was freaky fine.

Anyway, Eddie soared through the air, waving back to the students and fangirls that said hi to him.

"Hi Eddie..."A multi-eyed monster kid with braces said.

"Hey, Eddie..."A human boy said.

"Hi there, Eddie..."Two girls, one human and one troll said as they waved and giggled.

Eddie waved back to be nice.

"Hi... Armada, how ar-..."

"Remember me?! Blair? We have math class together..."

"Hi how are you..." Eddie said, moving quickly..."Would love to stay and talk but I gotta get to class..."

"Aww... so soon?..." They went as Eddie flew as fast as he could.

"Sorry..." The ghost boy said as he passed.

Eddie sighed, it was a rather light greeting today. that didn't mean he was a fan of how the girl and ghouls would flock to him.

Being the son of a famous ghostly superhero came with popularity in the monster world. Though there wasn't time with the young boy racing to his locker.

He needed to get to his locker and get to class ASAP or Mrs. Wolf was going to give him detention.

Again.

Still, that didn't mean he should be rude since most of his fans were just ordinary students and not crazy fan girls like Azalea, Leona or Tawnie.

Dad said all it could take is one bad day and one bad monster or mutant in the news to give the hate mongers something to rally behind and to make people afraid again

It was so serious even his GRANDFATHER agreed with his dad on that and his grandpa HATES his dad.

So, Eddie always tried to be nice to his fans. He would ignore the pusher ones or the ones who tried to harass him but high fiving little kids and waving back, he is okay with.

Eddie honestly lost count of how many selfies he's taken with people or with his other hero friends. It wasn't too bad as long as people remembered to turn off their flash

Being the son of a famous ghostly superhero came with popularity in the monster world. Though there wasn't time with the young boy racing to his locker.

"Sorry. Excuse me. Phasing through..."He said.

Those are the words he'd say as he ducked, dodged, and fazed through the obstacles, including students.

"Come on, come on!..."

Eddie soon made it to his locker and got his text book.

"Got it..."He said, relieved.

Just then, his friends arrived.

"Yo, Eddie..."A boy with snake hair who had wrapping on his arms and legs came up to him. He also had black snakes for hair and icy blue eyes that were hidden behind some sunglasses.

It is Athens De Nile, the son of Cleo De Nile and her husband, Deuce Gorgon. Next to him is what looked to be a cross between a human and a werewolf.

It is Wyatt Werewolf, the son of Winnie Werewolf and Colonel Tug Roper, the current headmaster at Calloway Academy and a former alumni there.

Next to him is what looked to be a tall, muscular guy with purple skin, green eyes and purple hair, as well as vampire-like fangs and a girl who had a similar appearance, but with lighter purple skin and black hair.

It is his friends, Selene and Abraham "Bram" Dracula, the children of Sibella and her husband. Selene is also the ghoulfriend of Eddie's godbrother, CJ Morgan and Bram is on the graveball team with Eddie, Athens and Wyatt.

"Dude, you made it on time...this time..." Wyatt said.

"Haha..."Eddie said sarcastically..."Very funny, Fuzz ball..."

Wyatt laughed, showing off his fangs

"You know he's right..." Said Selene, with a smirk.

"Hey! I've been on time before..." Eddie defended himself.

"First time this week..."Athens said, kind of snobbishly.

Eddie ignored it that. It was just how he was raised to talk. He was a cool dude deep down.

REALLY deep down.

Like, bottom of Carnivorous canyon deep.

Anyway, Eddie and his friends were soon engaging in conversation.

"So, what's the reason you are on time today?..." Bram asked

"Yeah, your usually saving a cat from a tree or something, Mr. Hero... Wyatt joked

"Not really. Things were quiet today..." Eddie said... "Grandpa is visiting..."

"Yikes..."His friends said.

"Yeah..." Eddie muttered, slightly embarrassed.

He loves his grandfather very much but he can be intense.

"Did he and your dad cross paths?..."Bram asked and Eddie nodded.

"Yikes..."They repeated.

"How bad was the damage?..." Selene asked in a worried tone.

"CJ wasn't there and all grandpa broke was a lamp..." Eddie reported

Selene let out a relieved breath while Eddie got what he needed from his locker.

The last time his grandfather made one of his infamous surprise visits, he was, ONCE AGAIN, fighting his dad while CJ and TJ had come over to play video games and CJ nearly got hit in the crossfire.

At the very least, grandpa apologized to CJ but it was still not cool and CJ and Selene had been wary of his, though not without good reason.

His grandfather didn't get his fearsome reputation for nothing, after all.

Thought that was in decline after Danny ended up defeating foes he couldn't

Eddie pondered if his grandfather was actually aware of these things, but was brought out of his thoughts by his friends.

"So, any plans this afternoon?..."Wyatt asked.

Eddie shook his head.

"None so far...probably just practice, patrol...Nasty Burger coupon in need of being redeemed because I love my burgers flame grilled..."Eddie said.

"Wow... you sure love Normie food..." Athens said.

"Please don't call them Normie's... it sounds like a slur..." Eddie said.

"Sorry... HUMAN food..." Athens said.

"That's better..." Eddie responded.

"How can you eat that stuff?"

Eddie shrugged as he made sure everything was in order for classes today.

"Part human..."He answered

"A quarter human. That's like if I said that I am Italian because my great gran-mummy was 1/2..."Athens pointed out.

"Regardless... I plan to hit it up... and maybe stop by the new Mr. Smoothy for a bacon and cheesepuff blend..."Eddie said, while his friends looked at him strangely.

Except Wyatt.

"Well, I can go for one those..."Wyatt shrugged, though he mostly went for the meaty stuff, anyway.

"Pretty sure most humans don't go for that flavor..with the exception of him, his dad and Mr. Foley..." Athens thought with a shudder.

He still couldn't understand how Eddie could stomach that kind of food.

Most monsters wouldn't even TOUCH those kinds of smoothies and that includes the ones who has learned to LIKE fresh food. Clearly, he's spent a lot of time with his dad.

Ever since Danny introduced that homemade flavor to Ben Tennyson, he got Mr. Smoothy to serve that as a special drink, exclusive to Amity Park. It was mostly aliens who consumed it though. It made Athens wonder if Danny Phantom was actually an alien sometimes and not a ghost-hybrid, since hardly any humans go for that flavor.

Though it didn't explain why WYATT liked them, considering his own mother thought them disgusting.

Athens decided the eating habits of them was another matter and get back to the topic.

"Just as long as I don't need to hear my sister complaining about you missing any more games ..." Athens muttered..."She wants to beat those Ravens real bad..."

His sister, Tiaa De Nile, is the self appointed princess of Monster High and head fear leader. She is also ultra competitive and the ex ghoulfriend of a certain human's son.

A certain human that his dad has hated since high school.

"Hey, your sister decided to date Casper High's quarter back..." Eddie said "Why do we have to win so bad because they broke up?..."He asked.

"She hates losing anything, especially to an ex..."Athens said.

It is true.

Tiaa is probably the most competitive De Nile this generation...with the exception of a certain cousin of theirs that he'd rather not think about.

Anyway, Eddie groaned.

"I have the least important job on the team, I'm just the kicker.. Eddie said.

"Coach still wants you at practice more..." Bram said..."You score half your kicks..."

"Those aren't good odds..." Eddie said

"It doesn't matter, Tiaa has been breathing down my neck about this, so show up to practice..."Athens said.

"And this has nothing to do with you wanting to win?..." Selene asked in a knowing way.

Athens didn't even deny it.

"A good win record will help me get a scholarship to Fenton university..."Athens said.

"I understand but isn't your family loaded?..."Wyatt asked. "Why do you need a scholarship?..."He asked.

Athens just shrugged.

"It is the principal of the thing. Besides, De Nile's never lose..."Athens said with pride.

Eddie rolled his eyes.

Even if they can be pretty snobby at times, the De Niles were cool monsters and have been his friends since he met them on his first day of high school, especially Athens...in his own way.

He had been a little stand offish and kind of snobby but Eddie saw that's just how he was raised, since his family was "kind of" royalty and very rich, like how he and CJ's families were rich, though the De Nile's still seem to believe that being descendants of a Pharaoh or something made them more powerful than they already are.

In addition, Athen's mom was a famous monster of high society who also doubles as the fear leading coach and also served on the city council and his dad was also a big deal, since he owned his own monster-human restaurant chain, having open his doors to Magus Bazaar recently. Not to mention, he had his own cook book out that was popular with the monster and magic community.

Cleo was still REALLY competitive and still expected the best from the fearleading squad.

Her daughter was the same, only aiming for top dollar in what she wants, and she had the capacity to do so, unlike the quarterback of Casper High, Dash Jr.

Cleo flipped when she heard the news of the two dating. It wasn't because the boy was a normie, but rather atrocious behavior and lack of ambition that she did not like. While her husband Deuce was very laid back as a teen, he, at the very least, was a nice boy and did not bully others, unlike Dash Jr.

The human jock of Casper High would bully anyone he thought was weaker then him, no matter how many times his dad punished him or how many times he got detention. The straw that broke the camels back was when Dash Jr had ambushed CJ behind the Nasty Burger and tried to beat him up for making him look bad and getting him in trouble, since the teachers paid attention when CJ said someone was being a bully.

Selene had saw this and ripped Dash away from CJ and stuck up for CJ, telling him to pick on someone his own size and instantly earning the ire of the bullying lad. Needless to say, Dash Jr. tried to hit on her at first, believing himself to be a charismatic man, somehow.

Obviously Selene turned him down, hard, and that's when the bully considered changing targets.

Unknown to the bullying jock, Tiaa had also witness the entire thing and was outraged.

Sure, she saw CJ as one of her brother's dorky friends but it was the principal of the matter and despite her snobby attitude, Tiaa hated bullies.

It was only after the boy kept it up did Tiaa see what he is really like and dumped him.

Now, every time there's a match between the schools, Tiaa will cheer extra hard for Casper High to lose and nag Athens and the others to give it their all, since her brother is the co-captain of the team, along side Wyatt.

And since Eddie was on the team, that meant he got nagged to show up too, even if he was just a kicker.

A good kicker, if he was being honest, but he he humbly thinks there are better.

Anyway, the very unique friends continued walking and talking to class.

"After the game is the dance..." Selene said, excited

"I know, CJ asked me for fashion advice..." Eddie said and Athens laughed.

He ASKED you?..."Athens asked skeptically.

"Yeah and I think he'll look fine..." Eddie said

"Oh, I know he will..." Selene said, thinking about her boyfriend and the fact that this will be their first dance together as a couple.

"Eww..." Bram said, until Selene elbowed him.

"Behave..." She said

"Only if you stop saying stuff like that..."Bram said.

"Consider it payback for all the times I've walked in on you and some ghoul making out on our couch..." Selene said in disgust..."Seriously! Other people sit there..."She reminded as she stuck her tongue out in disgust.

"You do the same with CJ, don't deny it..." Bram said, getting in Selene's face.

She frowned.

"At least, CJ is a gentleman. Besides, I'm the only girl he does that with..."Selene said

"I told you! Those girls were TOTALLY going to be my girlfriend!" Bram shouted..."They can vouge for that!..."

"Correction, there were TOTALLY losing interest in that after you made out with them..." Selene snarked.

"What was that?!..."Bram yelled.

Wanting to avoid a vampire sibling fight, Athens spoke up next.

"So, Eddie, Bram, Wyatt... who're the lucky ladies you'll be asking to the dance? For the record, me and Melody are planning on going..."Athens said, referring to his ghoulfriend and the daughter of Operetta and Johnny Spirit.

Wyatt smiled suavely.

"Don't know yet, narrowing down my options..."He said..."So far,I have Irene Taur, Mara Webber and Cori Moon to consider..."He said.

"And I've narrowed things down to either Franny or Tanya Stein-Hyde, and Gretchen Stone..."Bram said with a smirk.

"You're both disgusting..." Selene said in a disapproving fashion to her brother and old friend.

The two of them can act so...jock-ish at times, and seem to have a way with the ladies. Like flirting with ALL the ladies, even if they have boyfriends.

It's disgusting...

"Wait, isn't Gretchen invisible?..." Athens asked

"Only half the time...and even then, her clothes aren't..." Bram responded.

Athens got to thinking.

"Huh... so... when she goes to the bathroom, does that mean-"

"Eww..." Selene said

"Better not finish that thought..." Eddie said.

"Yeah... good call..." Athens said.

"Pretty sure Gretchen wouldn't want to think that. Plus, I think she'd be too shy to even answer non-personal questions... "Eddie said.

"She is cute, thought..."Wyatt said.

"Are girls all you can think about?..." Athens asked, shaking his head.

"Yeah..."Wyatt said and Bram nodded, while Selene rolled her eyes at that.

"You used to be the same before you met Melody..." Eddie said

Athen's didn't even try to deny that.

He had dated his fair share of lovely ladies before he and Melody met and he was captivated by the lovely, musical spirit.

"And there's a reason Melody made that stop being a thing..." Athens said.

"Well... lucky you, I guess..." Eddie said with a shrug.

"Either way, this dance is going to be awesome and I heard Tanya was even able to get her dad to deejay it..."Selene said in excitement, since Holt Hyde was one of the best deejays out there.

"Dude, that's awesome..." Bram cheered.

"Awooo!..." Wyatt howled

"It is... and he knows the right time for a slow song..." She said with a wink to Eddie.

Eddie was clueless.

"Why are you looking at me?"

"You know... a dance? Perfect time..." She said.

Eddie was silent.

He still didn't see what the big deal was about the dance. It was just going to be a bunch of their classmates crammed in a gym, eating and listening to music.

Worse, it'd be an excuse for Azalea to ask him out or one of her just as annoying fellow fan girls.

Now he knows how his dad feels about that Paulina woman, as well as that crazy Camille lady who still sends him letters from jail. As well as the various other girls who fanned over his father for either his fame, looks, or just the belief they were meant to be, such as Blackfire, Princess Mandie and Ember McLain, as well as a few other crazy ladies who wouldn't take no for an answer and ended up feeling the wrath of his mother, or so his father says.

"Why do so many superheroes have that one crazy female who have the hots for them? And why did my dad attract so many? I mean, Superman and Batman each have only one or two, NOT half a dozen at least..." Eddie thought in misery.

And now he has several females who want him to almost unhealthy levels.

All he wants is his space.

Something that seems to run in the family.

Still, he went back to his current issues.

"Why can't I ask a girl who likes me for me..." Eddie internally groaned as he floated down the halls.

With the dance coming up, some ghouls were sending out invitations. The kind the ghost boy's clueless brain could pick up. As Eddie floated, he was wondering who would be a good ghoul to ask. It wasn't that he needed to, but it seemed like the right idea.

"I'm not asking much, I just want someone who'd like me for me...but who?..."The mostly ghost kid thought to himself in private.

As Eddie and his friends kept waling, he noticed someone familiar up ahead.

There, at the end of the hall, talking to Ghoulina Mortavitch, was the president of the school paper and one of the most popular ghouls in their class.

And one of the nicest too.

A tall, slender full ghostly girl with long, green hair, blue eyes with two green sclera and and pale skin that was as white as a sheet, as well as black lips that also sported a nice smile.

It is Spectina Geiss, the daughter of his mother's old rival, Spectra Geiss, formerly Specter Vondergeiss and her husband Porter, a famous painter in the monster world.

Eddie and Tina had known each other since they were little kids and were casual friends, despite the fierce rivalry their mother's had when they were kids, especially over Eddie's dad.

Kind of gross.

Still, it didn't stop the two kids from developing a friendship, though one of them clearly wanted to be MORE then just friends. Not that Eddie had noticed, since the boy was sadly clueless, like his father was before him.

Anyway, Spectina's eyes caught a glimpse of Eddie as he and his friends walked down the halls.

"There he is... should I go talk to him?" She asked quietly.

"Moum..." Ghoulina said in the zombie language, which translates to " Go for it, ghoulfriend..."

She said that as she turned and pushed Spectina towards Eddie.

The ghost girl stopped and blushed when her eyes landed on Eddie, who didn't notice due to his cluelessness.

But his friends did.

"Someone is drooling over you know who, again..."Selene teased.

"Huh?..." Eddie asked cluelessly...? What are you talking about?..." He asked, confused

The werewolf just shook his head.

"Dude, how do you not see it?..." Wyatt asked.

Eddie blinked confused

"See what?..." Eddie asked

"Oh Anubis, help me. How clueless are you?.." Athens said, covering his (sunglasses covered) eyes.

"Clueless about what?..." Eddie asked confused.

Before any of Eddies friends could answer, Spectina floated over, a shy look on her face.

"Hi Eddie..." She said with a shy smile

Eddie smiled

"Oh hi, Spectina..." Eddie said, smiling at the ghost girl... "How's it going?..."He asked as Spectina smiled.

"I've got a lot on my plate with the dance coming up..."She hinted.

"Yeah, that makes sense, you are planning it this year..." Eddie said, smiling at her.

Spectina nodded.

"Yeah, it's a big deal that I got put in charge of the dance committee..."She said.

"Congrats, ghoulfriend..." Selene told her.

Spectina smiled before she turned back to Eddie.

The ghost girl smiled at him. Eddie smiled back, making Spectina blush more.

Eddie raised a brow when he noticed her face turning dark.

"Is she okay?I hope she's not sick... "Eddie thought.

"Should I ask if he has a date for the dance?..." She thought.

Spectina looked away for a moment before looking Eddie in the eye again.

"So, uh...are you going with anyone?..." She asked, sending Eddie all of the signals.

Eddie shook his head

"No. I'm not really even sure I'm going..."He said, only for Selene to step in.

"Oh, he's going, we'll make sure of it..."She said.

"What are you guys talking ab-" Eddie was cut off when Selene sent him a glare.

"He just needs some... convincing..." Selene said to Spectina.

"Oh?..." Spectina asked

"Uh huh..." Selene said

"Huh?..." Eddie asked

Selene ignored Eddie.

"He's definitely going to the dance but he doesn't have a date to the dance yet..."Selene said in a hinting way.

She knew of Spectina's crush and thought it was sweet. Besides, she was a MUCH better match for her friend than a certain stinking plant monster who can't seem to take any hints or a mangy werecat who tried cheating her way onto the cheer squad, not to mention the trouble she causes for fun sometimes.

"Oh, you don't?..." Spectina asked hopefully.

"No, I don't..." Eddie said but he still wasn't getting it.

What was the big deal about not having a date to a dance?! It's not like it was required

"Anyone... in mind?..." She asked, looking to her shoes with a shy look on her face, but anyone can see that she wanted him to take her and more.

Everyone but Eddie, that is.

"Not really..."He said and Spectina visibly deflated a bit.

Behind Eddie, his friends slapped their forehead.

"How clueless is he?..."They all thought, frustrated

"Why are they looking at me like that?..." Eddie thought

"Oh you should go, it'll be a lot of fun..." Spectina said, still hoping to get to go to the dance.

"What about you? Are you going?..."Eddie asked.

"Just with friends. Even if you don't have a date... it's at least something?..."Spectina said, though she subtly hinted about not having a date yet.

It actually surprised Eddie, since Spectina wasn't exactly unpopular.

"Does she not have a date yet? You'd think the guys would be lining up to ask a ghoul like her to the dance..."Eddie thought.

He'd have thought at least Bram or Wyatt would have asked Spectina, since she is pretty and they both basically go after any girl, especially the pretty ones. Though, for some reason, neither of his friends ever seem to have considered asking her out.

Eddie didn't really know why, since Spectina is a pretty and a perfectly nice ghoul.

He wasn't blind or stupid. Even if they are just friends, he doesn't see why someone hasn't asked her yet.

He couldn't understand why, but figured someone would at some point. Meantime, he had his own decision to make.

"I guess if there's nothing else to do..."Eddie shrugged.

Spectina smiled hopefully.

Meanwhile, all of his friends stared like they were trying to send their thoughts to him.

"Ask her, ask her now, stupid!..." Athens thought

"Come on, man..." Bram thought

"This is painful to watch..." Wyatt thought covering his eyes

Before Eddie could say something, someone else did.

"Hey Spectina..." A ghoul called out..."Come here, we need your help with these posters..."

"Oh, coming..." Spectisa said, before looking to Eddie.

"Sorry... I hope you go..." She responded.

Well if she really wanted him to go he probably should

Too bad he didn't have a date to go with

"See ya, Spectina..." Eddie said

Seeing that smile lightened her mood, if only a bit.

It made her spectral heart beat fast.

"Yeah, well...bye..."Spectina said, still blushing.

"Later..."Eddie said as the female ghost flew by, a longing look on her face as she flew away.

Not that he noticed.

Once Spectina was gone, his friends began to laugh at the quarter human who looked confused.

"What?..."Eddie said in a clueless tone, while his friends all laughed.

"What? Seriously, what are you guys laughing about?..."He said, annoyed

"You really don't see it, do you?..." Selene said, shaking her head.

"If I did, I wouldn't ask..."Eddie said, while his friends kept laughing.

"What?!..."He demanded but his guy friends kept laughing.

Eddie looked at Selene, confused. The female half-vampire sighed.

Sometimes, you just had to tell it straight with this guy.

Otherwise he just wouldn't get it

"She likes you..."Selene said; as if it was obvious.

Eddie just sent her an incredulous look.

"Spectina?..." Eddie asked ..."No way, we're just friends..."He said.

"No, we're friends..." Wyatt said..."She wants to be MORE then friends..."

Eddie shook his head and rolled his eyes.

"Wyatt, you think EVERY ghoul wants to be more then friends..."The mostly ghost boy pointed out.

"Because they do..." Wyatt said before looking to Selene..."With one exception..."He added.

"Yeah, you're not my type..." Selene said..."Besides, CJ is cuter..."She added.

"Eww..." Bram said while Selene rolled her eyes

"Oh, grow up, little brother..." Selene said

"You're only two minutes older..."Bram said.

"Do you realize how long that is in GIRL years..."Selene said with a smirk.

As Bram stuck his tongue at her, Athens ignored them and went back to Spectina.

"You should ask Spectina, you might be surprised to learn she wants to go with you..." He said with a wink.

"How do you even know she wants that?..."Eddie asked.

"Because we have eyes..."They all thought.

His friends groaned at his denseness.

It is obvious that Spectina has had a crush on Eddie since forever. Ever since they met at a Chainsgiving feast when they were kids and they got to know each other. At first the ghost girl found him, but over the years had gotten to know Eddie over a more personal level and it was clear that she had it bad for him.

The problem is that the ghoul was too shy to talk to him and Eddie is too clueless to see it, since he definitely inherited the Fenton Clueless gene and didn't notice.

Even if it was as subtle as a flying mallet.

Sometimes, Selene wondered if the Fenton family was cursed by a witch at some point to be oblivious to the affections of another, even when it was so obvious.

It was the only logical explanation.

Either that or Fenton men were really, REALLY thick.

It could go either way

Still, Eddie's friends still tried to help out in their own way.

"You should go to the dance..." Selene said, before shaking her head..."No, scratch that..You're going to the dance..."She said, not giving him an option.

If she gave him the option then he'd make the wrong choice

Eddie sighed.

He knew better then to argue with Selene when she got like this. Even CJ can't talk her out of anything when she sets her mind too it.

She was like his mother in that way, making him fortunate she only saw him as a friend.

"What I wouldn't give for one of Dad's bad guys to attack the school..." He thought miserably.

He had hoped maybe they'd leave the school a wreck and cancel the dance. Knowing his luck though, they'd relocate the dance to his backyard.

Seeing his friends looking at him and expecting an answer, Eddie sighed

"Fine, I'll go to the dance..." He said

Wyatt and Bram cheered while Athens shook his head

"It took you long enough..." Athens said

"Does that mean I need a date?..." Eddie asked..."It's not like it's easy for me to find one..."He said.

Wyatt and Bram laughed at him

"What?..."Eddie demanded, wondering what's wrong with them now.

Once they calmed down, Athens spoke next.

"Dude, you're a superhero you come from a good family and you are not ugly..." Athens listed... "I mean you're not as good looking as me but still..."

"Yeah, I bet your brothers told you the same thing..." Selene added

"Pretty much..." Eddie said.

"Smart boys..." Selene said.

"They are..."He said.

Tuck and Ceej always had his back, even if they didn't agree on everything.

Back to trying to talk about Eddie and his possible date to the dance.

"There's always Plan B..." Athens said.

"Which is...?" Eddie asked, afraid of the answer.

Athens smirked at Eddie

"He could always ask one of his fan girls make her day..." Athens teased

Eddie shook his head.

"That's not even funny..." Eddie said

"It's kind of funny..." Bram said as Wyatt chuckled.

Eddie felt like he'd have a giant headache from dealing with one of his fan girls, including one in particular.

"A good thing you're descended from the pharaohs and can turn other monsters to stone with one look, ... because I'd punch you for that one..." Eddie said in annoyance.

Athen's continued, though.

"Come on... easiest solution, you know it. You're famous, so no problem there..."He said.

Eddie rolled his eyes and shook his head in refusal.

"If I wanted a girl who cared about that stuff, I'd have gone out with your sister or worse, your cousin..." Eddie said before he blinked...

"Uh, no offense, dude..."He quickly added.

"None taken, Tiaa can be annoying but Cousin Tari is the worst..." Athens said, remembering all the time he had to deal with those high maintenent girls that he has to call family.

Tiaa is his older twin sister, by 10 minutes and she is a bit of a snob, while Tari is a junior and even an worse snob.

Made even worse since the two are constantly clashing for the position of "Queen" of the school.

Bram shrugged.

"I don't know, Tari is pretty hot..." Wyatt said

"Eww! That's my cousin..." Athens said disgusted

"Hey, hot is hot..." Bram said while Selene covered her eyes.

"I'm ashamed to be related to you, some days..."Selene said to her brother.

"At least, I don't stay up till dawn talking to CJ..."Bram retorted.

"At least, I don't chase after anything that is the opposite gender..." Selene said.

"At least, I don't hog the bathroom in the morning..." Bram shot back.

Soon, Selene and Bram started another one of their sibling arguments as their friends watched on.

It was like watching the triplets fight, but older and with fangs...and the potential to do some REAL damage, if they got worked up enough.

Dracula's were no weaklings, after all.

They decided to break it up before it got worse.

"Alright you two, break it up..."Eddie said.

"Save the energy for the games..." Athens said holding Bram.

"Alright..." Bram said as Selene did the same.

School was not the place for this.

Eddie and his friends continued to walk to class, all the while they tried to convince Eddie to go to the dance and ask a certain ghoul who had a big crush on him and that would be easy part. It was getting to see her feeling was difficult.

Like the secret hard difficulty on a video game.

Just then, the bell rang, signalling that they had to get to class and now!

"Oh man, we gotta get to class before Mrs Wolf starts handing out detentions slips..."Eddie said to his friends, who nodded.

As Eddie left for class with his friends, he had no way of knowing that a pair of blue eyes(with a green sclera) were looking at him with longing.

"Eddie..."The voice whispered before it vanished, along with the person who said those words.

Meanwhile

Bella and Luna Fenton were sitting together in the classroom at Grimwoods.

While originally a small boarding school for monsters only, after the monster world was revealed, Miss Grimwood's decided to expand the house and add more students.

It was easy, considering the sister of Danny Phantom studied here and the homes built nearby. Dani herded still visits the campus every once in a while.

"Alright class, time for our arithmetic..."The elderly Miss Grimwood said to her students.

Right now, Bella and Luna were listening to Miss. Grimwood go on and on about math. The two of them were trying not to fall asleep like Jackie was at the breakfast table this morning.

At least Luna was, Bella elbowed her sister and waking her up before she fell asleep.

Again.

Bella elbowed Luna, waking up her fellow triplet

"I'm up..." Luna said

Bella rolled her eyes at that.

"Focus, please. I don't want to get detention again..." Bella whispered

"But math is so boring..." Luna whispered.

"I don't care Luna Madeline Fenton, mommy told you to pay attention..." Bella whispered harshly

"Don't call me by my full name, Bella Jasmine Fenton..." Luna whispered back

"Excuse me, is there something the two of you'd like to say?..." Miss Grimwood said, getting the two girl attention.

Bella and Luna looked embarrassed while Miss. Grimwood looking sternly to the two of them

"No, Miss. Grimwood..."The two girls said together

Miss. Grimwood nodded.

"Good, then let's get back to our arithmetic lesson..."The teacher said.

"Yes Miss. Grimwood..." The class said as the lesson continued.

Later

At Casper Elementary

It was recess time now and Jackson was currently under his favorite shady tree on the playground .

He was sitting with his friends, Ida Morgan, his youngest "cousin" from Aunt Sam and Uncle Cristopher and Merri Rasputin, whose parents worked at the school for mutants that opened up in town a few years ago(one his dad always makes donations to each year).

Jackie had been best friends with Ida since birth practically, while they became friends with Merri at the beginning third grade.

Merri was good with computers and could beat Jackie at almost any video game, causing a friendly rivalry of sorts between them. Ida, on the other hand, often served as the "big sister" of the group, she is a little bossy but they always had fun together.

Right now, it was recess and Jackie got hungry and decided to take a little snack break with his friends.

And his mother had given him three ham and cheese sandwiches, crust and all. It was one of his favorite foods. Jackie pulled out one of the ham sandwiches, when Ida had arrived with her lunch, a mix of salad greens with tofu but she seemed less than happy with it.

"Is that ham?..." Ida asked.

"Uh huh..." Jackie answered.

Ida Morgan the youngest of his Aunt Sam and Uncle Christopher's three kids, looked at the sandwich hungrily

Like her older siblings, Ida secretly liked eating meat, ever since she tried it a couple of months ago but since her mother is a passionate vegan, she, like her siblings, have to keep it hidden from her folks, especially her mother.

Jackie didn't even hesitate handing the sandwich to Ida.

"Thanks, Jackie..." Ida said eating the sandwich

"You're welcome..." Jackie said

Ida quickly finished the sandwich, Merri watched with wide eyes

"How do you eat so fast?..."She asked..."It's like some kind of super power..."

"CJ taught me so mom didn't catch me..."Ida said with a shrug.

"What about with your breath?..."Jackie had to ask.

"We always carry from mints on us to hide the smell..."She answered with a shrug.

Jackie still looked concern though. Ida is one of his best friends and he likes her family too, since aunt Sam is like a third aunt to him and she is really nice.

Though she still had a thing about not eating anything that had a face on it. This made the boy question if his aunt would eat pancakes if someone drew a face on it.

Jackie pulled out the second sandwich, quickly eating it before speaking to Ida.

"Ida, this has been going on for weeks. You should tell your mom to make you some..."Jackie said.

"We are okay with sharing with you but we want to eat too..."Merri said.

"My mom would never look at the meat section, let alone buy it..."Ida said, looking at her feet.

Jackie and Merri sighed. They knew that Ida's parents and by extension, the whole family were vegetarians but recently she and her brother and sister had started tasting meat and liking it.

They were also too afraid to tell their parents about it, especially their mother.

Ida, being the youngest, was even more so.

"You should just talk to Aunt Sam..."Jackie said but Ida looked down at her feet.

"I want to but you know how my mom feels about meat. I don't want her to be disappointed..."Ida said, sadly.

"But your mom loves you..." Jackie said, as if it was obvious.

"Yeah, I know that she does. My mom and dad are awesome but mom really doesn't like eating meat. What if she thinks there's something wrong with me?..."

Jackie shook his head.

"Look, your mom is pretty cool. She's not going to judge you for eating meat..." Merri said

"Yeah, "if she was why would she be friends with Uncle Tucker..."Jackie said. "And all he EATS is meat..."

"That can't be healthy..." Merri said

"He looks healthy enough. I mean, for an old guy..." Ida said.

They all laughed at that.

Jackie finished the rest of his snack while Merri and Ida talked some more about her issue with her mom and meat.

Merri scooted closer to Ida as she spoke gently.

"You know we could be there , if you want to tell your mom..."Merri said.

"Yeah..."Jackie nodded... "And if she gets mad, we can blame your meat addiction on CJ since he was the one who taught you how to sneak the stuff..."Jackie said.

"I don't have a meat addiction..." Ida defended.

"But you are like a ninja with it. Who would do that?..." Merri added.

Jackie nodded his head with a small smile. The thought of a meat ninja was too ridiculous to almost not laugh at.

"Maybe..."Ida said before shaking her head ..."Look enough about my family issues, let's go play..."Ida suggested.

Merri and Jackie shrugged before nodding.

"Okay, race you to the monkey bars..." Jackie said with a smile.

"You're on..." Ida said accepting

The three got up, running towards the playground to enjoy the rest of their recess.

Back at Monster High

Eddie and his friends are playing casket ball in the gym since they had a free period. It was a good way to unwind, even with his friends trying to get him to ask out a certain ghoul,

"I'm telling you, Eddie..." Bram said trying to take the ball..."You should ask out Spectina..."

Eddie shot the ball at the hoop.

"Dude, Spectina and I are JUST friends..." Eddie said for the millionth time... "I don't think she sees me like that..."

Seriously, why were they still on this?

Eddie already agreed to take a date to the dance that didn't mean he wanted to listen them try to get him to take his friend on a date.

If that option were on the table he'd just ask Donna or Sunny since they don't have relationships.

"I better determine who I'm going with later... after I remind everyone why I rule at casketball..." He whispered to himself.

Eddie was floating around, dodging Athens as he tried to steal the ball from Selene. Eddie turned intangible as Bram jumped at him. Bram passed through him as Eddie took his shot getting in the basket.

"Ha ha..." Eddie cheered while Bram got up annoyed.

"You used your powers bro, no point..." Wyatt mock complained.

Eddie shook his head.

"You've got werewolf with lots of muscles hidden under that furry body..." Eddie pointed out... "You could bench press a truck as easily as I could pick up a pencil..."

"Jealous much..."Wyatt said as he held his arms up.

"Not even a little..." Eddie said deadpan

Meanwhile Selene, Bram and Athens were getting impatient

"Are we going to play or what?..."Selene asked, getting annoyed.

"Yes, I wanna win before graduation..."Athens said.

"Okay, okay. Pass me the ball..."Eddie said.

Selene passed the ball to Eddie and the game began again. Wyatt managed to steal the ball from Eddie, passing it to Selene, who changed into her bat form and passed it over to her brother.

Bram leapt up. caught the ball, dunking it in

They won!

"Awoooo!That was awesome!..."Wyatt howled.

"I know, dude..." Bram cheered high fiving

"Ha ha! IN YOUR FACE!..."She cheered as she changed back to her base form...

"Awooo!..." Wyatt howled victoriously again as he high-fived with his vampire team mate.

"No one likes a sore winner Selene..." Athens said, annoyed over his loss.

"Like you wouldn't be doing the same, snake hair..." Selene said

"No, I wouldn't. I am descended from royalty..." Athens said crossing his arms.

Eddie rolled his eyes not saying anything but he KNEW how Athens would be acting if had scored

He'd be right there with him cheering even louder.

"Dude's his own biggest fan..." Eddie thought as shook his head, walking over to Athens.

"Sorry, dude..."He said.

Athens rolled his eyes grabbing the ball.

"Whatever. Let's just play another game before history..."He said, passing the ball to Eddie..."But this time, I get Selene..."He said, since out of the four of them, she is the best player here.

"I think you have to take that up with CJ..." Eddie joked

"Not like that!..." Athens denied loudly.

Selene smiled jokingly, decided to play around too.

"Oh and I'm not good enough for a future pharaoh..."She said in a faux-offended way before bursting into laughter.

Her brother and friends followed.

"Well... a shame that attitude of yours prevents such a thing to be even considered..."Athens joked too, while the others laughed.

"Please... we'd sooner see Eddie's father falling for that airheaded human with too much make up than me being your queen..." Selene said.

"Don't put that thought in my head..." Eddie said.

"Well... perhaps we can put another topic in your head? Such as who you are going to ask to the dance..."The vampire girl said, while Eddie sighed in reluctance as his friends kept bringing up suggestions.

"Maybe you can ask your friend Donna, she's a pretty cool, plus she's a hero too..." Athens said.

"Or Sunny, she's part dragon..." Selene added.

"I dunno. They are more like close friends than potential girlfriends..."Eddie said.

"True but, once upon a time, Donna's Mom could have been your mom..." Athens said.

"I don't think that's how conception works..." Eddie said.

"He's right. Besides, knowing how her family's naming thing works, his name would probably rhyme with his dad's or even Donna's mom...Wyatt said.

"Not the point..." Eddie said.

"Regardless, back to the main topic... a date..."Bram said, wanting to help his pal find a decent girl.

"Like I said, I don't know the right girl for a date, much less to go out with..." Eddie said.

"Maybe you already met her and you haven't figured it out yet..." Wyatt said in whisper but Eddie heard him and rose a brow.

"Huh?..."He said while his friends all chuckled, as he was still clueless.

Like father like son, it would seem.

"Well, on the plus side... you at least know the future American Dragon and one of the coolest humans heroes around.." Athens said.

"Guys, no offense to Sunny and Donna, they are great but...isn't it just kind of sad to go to the dance with your "just-a-friend"..."Eddie said.

"It doesn't have to be...besides, if the only other option is that reaking corpse flower, I'd chose a friend-date too..."Athens said.

"Point taken..."Eddie said, catching the ball from Athens and began dribbling it.

"Maybe there's a girl at Casper High..." Wyatt suggested.

"The only people I really know there are Ceej, Tuck and Summer, and while Summer is cool, she and Tuck recently broke up and it be too weird..." Eddie answered

"Okay... you have a valid reason not to hit on her..." Athens said.

Eddie sighed.

"This whole finding a date is a waste of time. Just like with this stupid dance..."Eddie said in frustration.

"Don't say that, Dude..." Athens said.

"Look, I know that you have had your run in with shallow gold diggers and crazy fan girls, but not every girl is like that..."Wyatt said and his friends nodded.

"I know that...I just wish that...I met someone who wanted me out of love, not a fanatical idiot or someone who sees me as a status simbol like Azalea or Tawnie..."Eddie admitted.

Though they bug him, his friends still chose to show him sympathy.

"There is a great girl out there for you Eddie, you'll find her one day..."Selene said.

He smiled.

"Thanks guys..."Eddie said.

"Look... forget what we said, you don't have to go if you don't want to..." Athens said.

Eddie thought about, but smiled.

"And miss you potentially embarrass yourself on the dance floor? Not a chance..." He said.

All of them smiled in relief.

The monsters continued playing a bit, but the topic is not over.

Not by a long shot.
