The Many Kids of Danny Fenton
Chapter 18: Annie Part 2
As Annie flew to school, she was unaware of what was happening in a certain time masters lair.
Said time master and his guests were watching and enjoying it. Especially NeoMark, who was practically delighted at the sight of his favorite pairing and their four children.
"Four kids, I guess Kim CAN do anything, even raise four future heroes ..."NeoMark said.
Flower Princess11 giggled, while BCW and 61394 smiled.
Number Boy, at the very least was content with what he's watching, given the smile on his face.
"Things are getting interesting..." 61394 said.
Sure , he had no real preference for romance outside of happiness for the couple in question. And Danny and Kim seemed VERY happy with each other. Four kids and still happy to be married to each other.
Danny has been shown to deal with 4 kids, though Manny and Frannie are pretty mischievous so far. At least the other 2 were moderately less stressful.
Somewhat, at least.
"I wonder what'll happen next..." 61394 said.
Clockwork smiled.
"Lets wait and see, old friend..."The Time Master said.
"Fine with me, wonder what trouble Annie will have to deal with..."61394 said, curiously.
"Me too..." NeoMark said.
"I wonder what her relationship with RJ really is like?..." FP11 said.
"I wonder how Casper High has changed with her around?..." NeoMark said
"I wonder what else is next?..." BCW asked.
"Guess there's one way to find out..." FP11 said, gesturing to Clockwork.
The ghost of time smiled knowingly
"Who knows what twists and turns the parade may or may not take..."The Time Master said.
"We're about to see four ourselves, aren't we?..." NeoMark asked.
The time master just smirked.
"We'll see soon enough..."The Time Master said..."Shall we continued watching the rest of the day?..."He asked.
"Do we got any popcorn left, Number Boy?..." NeoMark said.
"Always..." He said.
"Then I'm, ready..."NeoMark said.
"Me too. I am so in..."FP11 said.
"Yep..."61394 practically jumping as he waited for Clockwork to resume.
"Let us continue.."BCW said in a calmer tone.
"Very well..."Clockwork said.
The Time Master resumed where they had last left off. With Annie flying to school, blisfully unaware of what this day has in store for her.
"Time In!..."CW said as he pressed a button and the show continued.
In Amity Park
Up In The Sky
Annie was currently several hundred feet in the air, enjoying the wind in her hair as she flew to school.
She loved flying. It was probably one of the best things in the world. She loved the feeling of the wind rushing against her face the amazing view. Annie flipped through the air and laughed as she enjoyed doing some mid air acrobatics as she kept flying.
This was such a rush. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair and the clouds in her hands.
She felt free, as well as a huge grin on her face.
It was her favorite power she inherited from her father. Sure, her dad has other powers and they were awesome but flying was without a doubt the coolest power ever. She jut loves it and she'd use it any chance she could, provided it didn't makes things difficult for anyone. Though no one complained when you used said flight to save people from a burning building or helped the elderly cross the street.
But on those weekend nights, nothing beat a flight in the sky under the stars. Plus, there was something nice about being miles above the ground with nothing but the air and your thoughts
It was something all Phantoms liked to do. Her father and aunt were known to do this on their days off.
Her dad admitted when he's not patrolling or training, he likes to fly aimlessly. She knew why.
It felt like freedom.
The one of a kind freedom that came with feeling the wind in your hair and the clouds being your playground.
Even her mom loves it. Though Kim couldn't fly without a jet-pack, she knew how great it feels. Sometimes, she would go flying with Danny, holding his hand to be with him and she felt that same rush with him. Kim always admitted she and Danny felt the most free together and the most fun when they were in the air.
It felt like there was nothing but herself and her thoughts in the world.
Annie could remember those flying lessons her father gave her. She remembered the first time, when she was 7, she tried flying on her own.
It always put a smile on her face
She'll never forget it.
FLASHBACK
A seven year old Annie looked up nervously at the sky behind her was her daddy.
The one and only Danny Phantom, who was giving her a flying lesson.
"Let's give it a go, ready?..." He asked.
"Yes..." She said.
He knelt down besides, her picking her up. She's gotten the hang of accelerating her speed, now was the test she waited for.
"Then, let's go..."He said as he flew up as Annie held on to him.
I can do this... I'm the daughter of two great heroes... She thought.
Once they were high enough, Danny held his daughter in his arms and held tight.
He was feeling a hopeful for his firstborn, hoping that she and his baby son would do great. Still, Danny was concerned. After all, this is his child and they were currently 200 feet above the ground where their house is.
He's worried, but at least he can catch Annie if she fell.
He's been training her to practice flying rather than hover slowly off the ground. She's gotten the hang of accelerating her speed, now was the test she waited for. He did notice that she seemed a little nervous.
"Remember, daddy is here and he would never let you fall..."He told her.
That made Annie smile a bit and relax more.
"I know..."Annie said.
"Good..."He said before kissing her cheek
"You'll be great..."He said in an encouraging way, even if he was still worried
What parent wouldn't be? He was only high in the sky because it would give the ghost man enough time to save his girl if she fell.
Though that scared him too.
Annie looked down and saw that they were REALLY high up, about 20 miles high.
She was still excited to be learning how to fly but kinda nervous.
Okay, A LOT nervous. Still, she chose to be brave.
"Right... I got your genes and Mom's... I'll do great!..." Annie said, wanting to sound confident.
Her dad knew she was scared but wanted to try anyway. He knew she won't change her mind.
"I know you will, without a doubt..." Her father said..."Remember what your grandpa James always say: anything's possible for a Possible, even one with the Fenton name..."He added.
He saw her nod, ready to try.
He decided now was the time to try. He slowly loosened his grip and lightly pushed his daughter to fly.
"You ready, Annie-Bear?..." Danny asked as he held onto her.
"I'm ready, Dad!..." She insisted.
"Okay..."He said before he let go slowly and let her use her power to hover away from him.
Annie took a breath and closed her eyes.
"Here we go.."She whispered as she leapt into the sky and flew a few feet away from her dad.
"Okay... open your eyes..." Danny said.
Annie opened her eyes, she looked around.
"Am I... doing it? I don't feel your hand on me, Daddy..." She said.
"It's not. You're flying!..." Danny said, hovering in front of her.
Annie heard this, looked around and saw that she was indeed flying. She squealed happily.
"I'm flying! I'm flying!..."She cheered as she spun in circles in the air.
"I'm flying... I'm 200 feet in the air and not descending... Dad's not holding my hand... it happened!..."She thought in joy.
This was amazing.
Danny looked proud as he saw his eldest child flying on her own.
"You're doing it..." Danny said.
"I'm doing it!..." She flipped around in the air.
"I'm flying! Let's race!..."She insisted while Danny chuckled.
She was so Kim's daughter She takes more than just her looks, especially when her Phantom genes made her eyes green.
Still, she was also his daughter and he had to be a dad right now.
"How about we start with simple exercises for now?..."Danny said.
"Aw, really?..." Annie said.
Danny nodded.
"Yeah... you're still new to this..."He said sternly.
Annie looked a little disappointed that she couldn't just race but she listened
"Okay..." Annie said before grinning.
"Can I at least go a little wild?..."She asked.
"I'm here... so sure..."Danny said and Annie's grin widen.
"Woohoo!..." Annie went before flying around in circles and zigzags.
All the while Danny chuckled.
"That's my girl..."He said proudly.
End Of Flashback
Annie smiled when she remembered that.
She loved her dad, who trained her and was always supportive. She's been his sidekick since she was 13. Even though she's got her own team now with her friends when he's not around, she loved to fight ghosts with him even more. Just as her mother and Aunt Danielle said, it's always more fun to face evil with someone like him.
And like her mother, her father was someone she wanted to make proud.
And getting good grades, better than her father, was one of the ways to make them proud. Another reason why she had to get to school and fast.
Annie was about half way to Casper High when ghost sense went off.
She sighed.
"Why is it always when I'm in a hurry?..."She thought, annoyed.
She turned around, her fists glowing brightly. She got ready.
"Who is it this time?! Skulker? Ember? Fright Knight? Vortex?!..."She thought.
"BEWARE!..."Was bellowed.
To her disappointment, it's her would-be archenemy.
It's not her actual archenemy, the daughter of two of her mother's foes, it was the daughter of her father's less than dangerous foes.
A pudgy teenage ghost girl with braces, freckles, black hair in pigtails and a pair of overalls and a hair net. A perfect mix of her parents.
"I AM BOX LUNCH! DAUGHTER OF THE BOX GHOST AND THE LUNCH LADY!..."The female ghoul said dramatically.
Annie rolled her eyes.
"I know who you are. Why do you keep saying that every time we cross paths?..."Annie asked.
"So, that my name sticks in your tiny human skull...that is before I DESTROY YOU..."She yelled.
Annie rolled her eyes, Box Lunch had been saying she was going to destroy her since they were like ten and she was about as threatening as threatening as the twins or when they have too much ice cream.
Only more annoying.
"Come on BL. Don't you have other things to do? Like haunt a grocery store?..." Annie said, really wanting to speed things along
She soooo did not need to be late again. It would give Tawnie an excuse to make claims of being better.
She wanted to be head cheerleader, something Annie became without even needing powers, and would find any excuse to get the role.
As if!
She almost wished Tawnie was a villain as it gave her an excuse to knock her out. Though as tempting and cathartic as that would be,her parents raised her better than that.
"I was raised too well..." She thought bitterly.
Tawnie was a total pain but if she was like her mom, karma would find her eventually.
Anyway, back to her fight with Box Lunch, who looked eager to get things started.
"You shall pay!..." Box Lunch fired a box of cookies at Annie.
Annie merely moved to the side, avoiding it and she still had that annoyed look on her face.
"Aren't your parents retired from evil or something?..."Annie said.
Box Lunch crossed her arms.
"And I shall continue their legacy!..." The would be villain announced.
Anne sighed
Box Lunch wasn't dangerous, just a pest.
She'd rather deal with Roxy 13 right now, since she's a genuine threat. At least compared to this ghost girl who's only power is control over boxed and nothing else.
"I can't believe this. On a Monday. Look, can we reschedule? I promise to kick your butt after school..."Annie said while the female ghost growled.
"You think you can just push me off like I'm a dentist appointment?!.." Box Lunch asked angrily
"Kinda..." Annie answered.
Box Lunch looked mad now.
"You will suffer for that! But first..." She shouted before acting sweetly. ..." Care for some waffles?..."She said in her "sweet" voice.
"Just like her mom..." Annie thought as she rolled her eyes.
"Already ate..."Annie said with disinterest and Box Lunch looked insulted and furious.
"THEN PREPARE TO FACE YOUR THREE COURSES OF DOOM!..."Box Lunch yelled.
Annie rolled her eyes.
"Whatever, let's just hurry this up. I have to get to school..."Annie said.
She's had enough fights to know how this goes. It was the same fight every time and it always ends with Box Lunch in a thermos. Just like how things ended whenever their father's had their "fights".
Speaking of this "fight", the ghost girl wanted this to end soon. Her opponent was too persistent to let that happen, even when Annie was winning despite putting no effort
It always began with her making the first move. Hovering a few boxes of crackers, Box Lunch snarled.
"You won't have to worry about school when I'm through with you..." Box Lunch yelled, attacking her with a barrage of food.
Annie phased through the crackers, not even trying to dodge. Or do anything.
She groaned.
"Part of me wishes you were right... I don't want to deal with Tawnie right now..."Annie said.
"You dare see a simple cheerleader as a bigger threat than me?!..." Box Lunch said.
"Threat? No, just a pain in my butt..."Annie said, in annoyance.
At that, Box Lunch stopped to blink in surprise.
"You gotta be kidding me?..." She said in a similar tone.
"I only wish I was kidding..." Annie said.
"Is she really this much of a pain?..." BL couldn't help but ask.
Annie merely nodded, looking like she'd tear her pretty red hair out.
"You try having a girl who will use every opportunity to one up you in attempt to make herself look good due to circumstances that no one had control over but her parents..." Annie groaned, releasing everything.
"Are her parents evil like mine?..."BL asked.
Annie shook her head.
"Her dad's... nice, I guess. Her mom is just a brat who tried to take my dad as soon as his identity was public and not care that he loves my mom..." Annie responded.
"Wow..."BL said.
"I know..."Annie said.
"That's rough..."The specter girl said.
She knew high school can be tough, but never figured she'd be outclassed in persistence.
"You don't know the half of it..." Annie replied slowly as she held her head.
That got the ghost confused. So much that Box lunch stopped her attack and signaled a time out with a T made from her hands in order to listen.
"What do you mean?..."BL asked as Annie continued to vent.
"I mean that Tawnie is the bossiest, most conceited person to have ever been born! I am serious, she she can make Wizard Kelley seem humble, and he had his name with everything. Not to mention she acts like being a cheerleader is the most important thing in the universe complete..."The red head said, getting more agitated as she spoke.
"She can't be THAT bad, can she?..."BL said.
"Oh, believe me when I said that she is! She's totally blind to the world around her with her 'I'm-better-than-you-in-every-way' attitude..."Annie yelled..."And don't get me started with her thinking her mom should be the one who my dad should want..."She ranted, looking more intense as she spoke.
She kept voicing her frustrations to the one who was trying to waste her not a moment ago.
Pretty ironic, considering Tawnie's not a supervillain but it served to show that Box Lunch had more personality than the snobby girl.
Now if only the ghost wouldn't attack frequently.
Anyway, Box Lunch continued to listen to Annie's venting about her "high school enemy" and was surprised by what she was hearing.
"Are you kidding me?..."BL asked.
"I am NOT! Just last week, she tried to usurp my spot as cheer captain by getting everyone new uniforms and creating a new cheer. And when it came to practice and we tried the routine, the materials she used were not only super pricey but also not durable and the routine relied on things only Olympic level athletes... or my mom.. could do. Then when everyone got upset, she thought it was my fault and demanded I pay for those stupid things! When I refused and told her to take responsibility, she went behind my back and tried making a case with the principal. Then when that didn't work, she thought it was my fault and tried to spread a rumor I used my influence, along with my parents, to keep her in check and ruin her plans!..."Annie said.
"Really?..."BL asked and Annie nodded.
"Really! And that's just the tip of the iceberg! I don't think it will ever end with this girl..."She said
BL actually looked sympathetic to Annie now.
"Wow...and I thought you were treating me as a pest..." Box Lunch commented.
"Mmmhmmm..." The halfa girl agreed before taking a deep breath.
Box Lunch shook her head at this but took a breath.
"Well... I gotta do this for... contractual obligations to being evil so... nothing personal..."BL said.
"I understand, it's tradition..." Annie said, knowing the routine by now.
Sure, her dad laughed at it but there was a certain routine a code of 'honor' with these things, at least for her parents and their rogues gallery.
BL accepted it, while Annie mostly tolerated it.
A price when your father is a superhero.
Still, the pudgy ghost girl chose to resume, but did so in a way to distract from issues and maybe even help Annie a bit.
"You know, you can take frustrations on me like your dad used to with mine..."She said.
"Okay. Thanks..."Annie said.
Despite being "evil", Box Lunch can be pretty nice and considerate when she tries to be. If she didn't attack every now and then, the two could be considered friends.
It was pretty weird but they at least didn't hate each other. Heck, she didn't even think their parents hated each other, just that Danny found the Box Ghost more annoying than dangerous when he was younger.
Anyway, Once done talking, Box Lunch resumed her "attack".
Annie stood there turning intangible she didn't even need her powers for this.
"Sorry, BL. But I really need to go..." Annie said, not sorry at all.
"GAH! You think that can stop me?!..." Box Lunch shouted.
"Yeah, I do..."Annie said.
"You shall suffer your mid-morning snack of terror!..." Box Lunch yelled as she used her powers to make a bunch of raisins appear.
Annie merely blasted them away, having done this hundreds of times before.
"I sooo don't have time for this..."Annie said in annoyance.
She decided to end the fight now before she was late and Principal Baker gave her detention. She took out the Thermos and Box Lunch panicked at the sight of it.
"No! Not again!..." Box Lunch wailed.
"Yes... again..." Annie said as she fired.
"Say hi to your folks for me and my dad..."Annie said as the ghoul was sucked inside.
As Box Lunch w as being forcibly pulled in, she reused her sweet tone.
"Okay... have a good day at class!..."She said before she was captured.
Once Box Lunch was trapped inside the thermos, Annie closed the cap and pocketed the thermos
She smiled somewhat.
"It's weird but she's more pleasant than Tawnie..."Annie thought, finding it ironic.
"Well... I do feel better, somewhat..." Annie admitted to herself.
She saw on the Phantommunicator the time. It read 7:40.
"Good... that wasn't very long..."She said.
Thankfully, she still had time, but didn't want to risk it. So, Annie flew the rest of the way to her destination.
Casper High.
A little Later
Annie soon landed outside of Casper High and quickly changed forms.
"Made it ..."She said, happily as she quickly went into Casper High.
She was glad that she wasn't going to get another tardy. Sure, the school had an "understanding" due to Annie's heroics and her parents but still, she wanted to maintain her attendance.
Even if a ghost tried to destroy her, she wanted to get to school on time.
She walked down the halls, heading to her class. English with Mr. Uno. Unfortunately for Annie, someone she knew spotted her and it wasn't one of her friends.
Far from it.
"Way to make it on time, A. Took you long enough...More "world saving" got in the way?..."A snobby voice said.
Annie groaned.
"Not her..."Annie thought as she turned to see her 'worst enemy', Tawnie Rockwaller
Tawnie was the daughter of her mom's old cheerleading rival, Bonnie and her second husband, the manager of the local Bueno Nacho, Ned Sr.
She was also just as snobby, rude and condescending as her mother ever was. Heck, with the exception of her dad's skin tone and eye color, she looks just like how her mom did at that age and she was just as unpleasant to someone from the Possible bloodline.
And that someone was conveniently Annie, unfortunately.
The dislike was very mutual. It was just like their mothers.
"Hi... T..." Annie went, already annoyed by her.
"I see you made it..."Tawnie said in a condescending way.
"I see you did too..."Annie said and smirked when Tawnie put her hands on her hips.
Ever since middle school, when they first met, Tawnie and her have never gotten along. Tawnie immediately hated her and her family, just for being related to Kim Possible, as well as her jealousy of Annie's popularity and being the cheer captain, which she erroneously believes should have been hers.
Annie tried to be friends, but Tawnie has made it clear she wants nothing of the sort.
Annie can still remember the day they met and how their infamous rivalry started.
FLASHBACK
It was a beautiful, sunny, peaceful day for the students of Casper Jr High.
It was also the FIRST day of classes too.
Many students were upset that their summer was over and that they have to go back to school. Some students were happy as it means they can either make new friends or meet old ones.
One student was a mix of both.
Her name is Annie Fenton, 11 years old and hoping to see her three closest friends since birth, practically.
However, she could not locate them.
"I don't see Tuck, CJ or RJ anywhere..." She thought as she kept looking for them.
They've been going to the same school since 2nd grade and have been in the same class together since then. She didn't like the idea of not seeing them in the same school.
The four of them were inseparable.
"I hope I see them soon..."The young girl thought, hoping to find them.
As Annie kept looking for her friends, she figured she should at least try to make some new friends.
Sure, she didn't exactly have a small social circle but as they say, the more the merrier. Plus, it be nice to have another female friend, preferably one that lives in the same town as her and Annie doesn't have to travel out of town to see and hang out with, like with Sunny Long and Ally Olson.
Annie looked around and saw that everyone in the hallway was either getting something from their lockers, talking to each other or on their phones, or still being bummed that Summer is over.
Some of them recognized the famous daughter and waved hello, while others were too shy. A problem with being the child of heroes, but she still tried and not let this bother her.
"Guess nothing's changed..." Annie thought to herself as she turned the corner.
And she nearly bumped into another student in the process.
"Watch it!..."A voice said.
That's when she saw her.
A girl who looked to be about her age, with brown hair, fair skin, pale blue eyes and a slim physique. She also had a mean look on her face too as she walked through the halls like a Queen or something.
Annie chose to be nice and try to make a new friend.
"Hi...uh...sorry about that..."Annie said apologetically.
The girl just scoffed rudely.
"Whatever... don't waste my time..."She said in an unfriendly voice.
"Huh?..." Annie asked.
"Don't talk unless you got something to offer..." Tawnie said.
"Like... friendship?..."Annie suggested, while the other girl looked at her in a way that she did not like.
"Friends with you? Pfft! As if..."She said in a mean way.
Annie looked offended.
"What's your problem?..."She said, not liking this.
"I'm in a public school with nobodies like you, that's what!..."The mean girl said.
Annie frowned at her remark, looking insulted.
This new girl scowled at her, though she looked to Annie as if she were familiar.
"What's your name, anyway?..."The mean girl said.
"Annie Fenton..."The red haired girl said.
Just then, the mean girls expression became even more sour and dismissive.
"Hmph! So you're the kids of the "world saviors". huh?..." The brunette said with a scowl and air quotes.
Annie raised an eyebrow at her sudden attitude.
"Uh... why did you use air quotes? My mom and dad are actual heroes..."Annie said.
"Whatever!..." The girl said... "My mom is way cooler than yours..."She added.
Annie felt insulted but chose to be nice.
"Okay... let's start over. I'm Annie Fenton and-..."The red haired girl tried but the other girl rudely cut her off.
"So, don't care!..." The brunette said with her arms crossed... "But if you must know, I'm Tawnie Rockwaller..."She said.
"Rockwaller?..." Annie asked before it dawned on her... "Your mom is my uncle's ex-girlfriend?..."She said.
Tawnie rolled her eyes at Annie and then got nastier. If that was even possible.
"And the same girl who Kim Possible is going to pay for getting in her way..."Tawnie said, angrily.
Annie frowned hard.
"What are you talking about?..."Annie said.
"Isn't it obvious?..." Tawnie asked but Annie blinked confused.
"No, not really..."Annie said, she had no idea what this girl is talking about.
Somehow, that made Tawnie even more rude, if even possible.
"Your mom got in my mom's way of being the best of the best... she should've been head cheerleader and marry the hottest superhero ever. But your mom had to get in the way and get his attention away from my mom and got married. It totally ruined our lives!..."Tawnie said dramatically.
Annie looked incredulous upon hearing this. Did she really hear that right?
Did she think it was her mother's fault for Bonnie Rockwaller not having the life she wanted?
She knew from her mother's usual talk that Bonnie was a mess of a human being and seeing her daughter, she can see why.
If this is how she raised her daughter, that's terrible.
Annie found it awful, petty and un-motherly. Still, she was not going to let this get to her.
"Seriously? What happened between our moms shouldn't be a big deal..."Annie said.
Tawnie only frowned harder.
"It is to me!..."Tawnie said.
"Why?..."Annie asked, not liking this.
The mean girl, Tawnie, answered, looking upset.
"Mom says I could've been born amazing, with a better life with wealth the goof stuff and everything we want, everything YOU have, if your dad wised up and dated someone in his league.."Tawnie said, Annie looked like the answer to that is a big no.
"Ew!..." The Fenton girl went, really unnerved by what she just heard.
"What was that?!..." Tawnie went as Annie still cringed.
"You're insane, just because my dad wouldn't go our with your mom, that's just nasty!..."Annie said.
"Well, it's true!..."Tawnie insisted while Annie sent her a disbelieving look, before decided to be frank here.
"First, that whole "dating in his league thing", my dad has been a hero since he was 14 and my mom was and is still a hero too, while your mom treated him like dirt, so technically my mom is more his league..."Annie said with arms crossed.
That annoyed Tawnie.
"What?..."She barked while Annie rolled her eyes.
"As for the other thing, Look, I took biology last year and even I know that's not how it works. If my dad HAD married your mom, which again EW! You and I wouldn't have been born at all. It's called genetics..."The red head said.
Tawnie only rolled her eyes before she responded with her own "logic".
"My mom says I would have been born and be living the good life..."Tawnie said.
"That's not how it works..."Annie said..."I see that your mom is clearly a spoiled idiot..."She said, already not liking this girl.
Tawnie frowned.
"Don't talk about my mom like that!..."She yelled.
"Has anyone ever said ANYTHING nice about her? EVER?!..." Annie asked with arms crossed and a deadpan expression.
Tawnie's fists clenched. She wasn't backing down.
"Just know this, "Fenton Princess". I'm going to finish what our moms started..."She said.
Annie was speechless
"Seriously?!..."She said, in disbelief.
"Seriously! I'm going to rule this school and prove my mom's family is better than yours!..." Tawnie went.
Annie rolled her eyes again.
"Whatever..."She said.
Annie was clearly talking to a brick wall.
Or a rock wall, to be more precise, who was just as impossible to get through.
Annie honestly didn't care about so-called popularity. She just wanted to hang out with her friends and have fun. She also wanted to end this conversation with this obnoxious girl who clearly is not listening to reason.
It made Annie wish something could happen to make her go away.
"PLEASE! For once, let a ghost attack me..." Annie thought.
That's when it happened. Tawnie saw the teddy bear sticking out of Annie's backpack and scoffed.
"How childish!..."She said in a mean way.
"What?!..."Annie yelled as Tawnie pointed at the teddy bear and started to laugh mockingly.
"Aww... what's wrong? Are you gonna hug this if you feel lonely?..."The mean girl taunted.
"Bite me!..."Annie said, already fed up with her.
To her shock, the snobby girl then snatched the bear from Annie's bag. She dangled the stuff animal like it was dancing, or rather taunting the ghost girl.
"How lame, what a baby!..."Tawnie mocked
She then wanted to grab it rather harshly. Or she tried to but Annie glared at her, her eyes glowing green.
"Back off!..."The red haired girl said with some edge and Tawnie soon went from mean to scared in a second.
"EEP!..." Tawnie let go quickly, startled by Annie's eyes flashing.
Annie quickly grabbed her bear and kept it safe in her arms. She took a breath, her eyes stopped glowing as she maintained her glare.
"Don't... touch... my bears...EVER!..." She warned.
"You freak!..."Tawnie yelled.
Annie would have called Tawnie out, but she wanted to make something clear first.
"Look, Tawnie. I don't care what happened between our moms... but if you wanna pick a fight, know it's one you won't win!..." Annie snapped.
Tawnie said nothing, only glowered at her.
Tawnie soon left but not before the girls sent one more glare at each other.
It was then both girls grew to hate each other.
End of Flashback
Present Time
That was how it went and ever since then Tawnie tried to compete with her at everything Annie could do without powers, provided she could actually perform said task, anyway.
Tawnie has tried to outmatch the ghost girl in cheerleading, sports, gym, grades, and appearance. If she couldn't, then the girl would resort to pressuring Annie in maintaining her winning streak.
It was like she was trying to remove the safety net below a tightrope walking halfa, but the girl could already fly.
Anything the brunette did, the redhead was able to easily get around and without having to resort to using her powers.
Even if Tawnie acted like she was queen of Casper High, everyone knew that Annie was their star and Tawnie hated that and it drove her to try and outdo her. The snobby girl felt the same need to prove herself better to Annie, the same way her mother did to Annie's mother when they went to school together.
The only difference is that unlike with Bonnie, Tawnie wasn't as...well off and had a dad who actually was attentive but she was still ever bit as nasty and ego-driven as her mother before her, and Bonnie always told her to prove they were better than the Possibles or the Fentons.
It just as programmed into her as Danny and Kim's desire to help people programmed into Annie. Also, it was clear to everyone that Bonnie saw her daughter as weapon of revenge and wanted to relive her glory days, while Tawnie was desperate to live up to her mom's expectations and make her proud.
It was sad and really pathetic of Bonnie. Even Paola Baxter, the daughter of Dash Baxter and Paulina Sanchez, wasn't desperate to be a repeat of her mother.
No one wanted another Paulina
Tawnie, on the other hand, did seem to love her dad and Ned Sr tried to be a good influence, with minimal success.
Right now, Tawnie was being her usual bratty self not caring that she was getting on Annie's nerves.
Again.
She just kept talking and about Annie about cheerleading and how she was a disgrace to it. Annie tuned her out, intentionally ignored it all except for this last part
"You gotta set a better example for the losers, A. You are a cheerleader..."Tawnis said.
"How is keeping people safe NOT setting a good example?..." Annie asked.
Tawnie just scoffed and maintained her Rockwaller attitude as she spoke.
"I mean, it's great and all... but cheerleading is a bigger deal than playing superhero..." The snobby girl went.
She almost got annoyed that Tawnie referred to it as "playing", but decided to make a crack of her own.
"Remind me how'd that work out for your mom? Last I check, she only hasn't gotten fired because she's married to her boss..." Annie asked in a mocking tone, as she knew that Bonnie's attitude only resulted in the woman ruining her own life and relying on her husband to have any kind of job.
Tawnie frowned and looked peeved now.
"Don't mock Daddy!..." Tawnie went, before she realized what she said..."I-I mean dad..."
"I'm not mocking your dad, just you and your mom for thinking cheerleading is everything..."Annie quipped.
Sure, Annie liked cheerleading too but she wasn't going to let it be the only thing that defined her. She did a lot of things, like student council, volunteer work and being a superhero, along with training with her parents.
Being the next generation of heroes was first for her. After all, she will be her dad's successor once he and mom retire for good.
They still have three more kids to look after and train first.
"There's nothing important after these years in our lives!..."Tawnie said.
"My mom said that's what your mom said and look how she is..."Annie quipped.
Tawnie gritted her teeth and practically enraged now.
"Ohhh, you wanna go there?..."The Rockwaller girl seethed.
"So not the drama..."Annie said.
"Stop acting like your mom!..." Tawnie shouted.
"Calling the kettle black..." Annie muttered.
"What was that?!..." Tawnie snapped.
"You heard!..."The red head said.
"Well, I'm still right about setting an example!..."The brunette yelled.
"No, you're just being a PAIN!..."Annie retorted.
"What was that?!..." Tawnie went again.
Annie sighed. She so didn't have time for this. Actually she never did nor wanted the time.
Still, she tried be calm and TRIED to reason with the dramatic brunette.
"Look, Tawnie. I like cheerleading too but it's not the only thing in the world. Unless you plan on doing it in college or plan to become pro at it, with the way you act, that's all your going to get.."Annie said.
Her parents always told her she could do anything she sets her mind to...As long as she keeps her grades up and uses her powers for good.
Annie still has dreams and plans to do more with her life with her life. Maybe open a teddy bear store when she's NOT kicking all kinds of butt.
Tawnie, however, responded with the usual venom.
Venom that Annie was immune to.
"If you don't even take it seriously , then why are you even ON the team?..."Tawnie demanded.
Annie shrugged.
"Because it's fun..."She answered, as if it was obvious.
That made Tawnie turn red and fume more.
"Cheerleading's supposed to be a privilege for the cream of the crop!..." Tawnie snapped
Annie rolled her eyes as she tried to ignore Tawnie.
Tawnie for WHATEVER reason, thought Cheerleaders were like royalty and should only do certain things like hang out only with cheerleaders, jocks and anyone else who is "popular".
Annie's mom told her that Tawnie's mom used to be the same and it lead to her current status in life, popularity didn't matter after high school.
And, honestly, it didn't matter now.
Even Dash Baxter didn't show an interest in her anymore, and not just because she's married now.
Only Ned, the former manager of Middleton's Bueno Nacho prior to the Lorwardian invasion, had any interest in her after her failed marriage to Junior.
Why? Nobody knows.
"Poor Mr. Rockwaller..."Annie thought, thinking about Tawnie's dad.
Bonnie Rockwaller, having insisted Ned use her name in the marriage, was far from what she expected to be.
Middle aged, bitter, with fading looks as time was not being kind to her, ridiculously high self esteem, still jealous and envious of her former coed's success, not to mention with one failed marriage and another hanging on a thread, working minimum wage while "trying" to raise two kids and keep her sanity.
Yep, cheerleading was real 'important' after high school.
It's clear Tawnie will follow that same path unless she changes and it doesn't look like that will be happening any time soon.
Annie would feel sorry if Tawnie wasn't such a pain.
The entire Rockwaller family was a pain to her. The only real exception is Mr. Rockwaller, he was kind of nice, at least compared to his wife and daughter and he at least TRIES to keep his kids in line and unlike his wife, wasn't rude to his customers. Not to mention being the only person Tawnie was nice to.
Annie felt bad for the guy and how he's saddled with Tawnie's mother. How they got married in the first place, she has no idea but clearly, he only saw what was outside, not the inside.
Danny always felt like Ned was just as desperate as she was.
That or he was the only one to fall for her charms now.
It was pitiful and sad but it was his choice.
One few people agreed with and deep down, Annie sometimes wondered if Ned was with her because he felt sorry for her.
No one knew the real answer.
Anyway, other than Ned Sr, there was only one other member of that family was nice to her and the general population of Amity Park. It's Tawnie's younger brother Ned Jr was much nicer then the snobby girl, at least to her. He had a crush on Annie, one she did not reciprocate, mostly because of how obsessive it was and how he looked exactly like his dad.
He was nice-ish but not her type. Plus, she wasn't interested in dating a younger guy, at least not a Rockwaller.
"I got more important things to worry about than you..." Annie said.
"Such as?..." Tawnie asked.
"Literally anything, even being attacked by leprechauns!..." Annie said.
Tawnie huffed while Annie ignored her and walked away.
"This isn't over, A!..." Tawnie said
"Yeah, it kind of is!..."Annie said as she walk, resisting the urge to phase through walls.
Fuming mad, Tawnie turned around headed away.
"Super powered loser!..."Tawnie said in anger as she kept walking away.
As Tawnie marched away, she passed by someone and blushed.
"Hey Tawnie..." He said.
"Oh... uh... hi..." She went, continuing her march away.
Annie was still shaking her head as she kept walking.
"That girl will never learn..."She muttered.
"Hey! Annie!..." RJ's voice said from behind her.
She soon saw her friends up ahead.
Tucker "Tuck" Foley Jr, Chris "CJ" Morgan Junior and Ron "RJ" Stoppable Junior.
Some have jokingly called their group the Team Phantom Junior, despite that Annie named after her grandmothers and not her mother.
Annie hadn't bother giving the team a name yet, figuring just "Team Phantom" would do once her father retires.
"Hey guys..."She greeted
"Hey..." Tuck, RJ and CJ said.
"Ghost trouble, again?..." Tuck asked.
"Box Lunch...nothing too extreme..." Annie said..."So, how have you guys been..."She asked her friends.
"My mom still is in the dark I went to that barbecue place with the Foley's over the weekend..." CJ said.
"That charcoal grilled place in Texas? The one owned by my dad's friend?..." Annie asked.
"Same one..." Tuck said with a grin.
CJ nodded but felt a small pang of guilt.
"I love that place but mom doesn't eat anything that has a face on it. She's still strict about her vegan diet and won't let us eat anything that has a face on it..."CJ said.
"I can't even imagine..." TJ replied slowly. The boy was shuddering at the thought.
Chris Jr. sighed in anguish. He loves his mother, but she can be strict in how she raises her kids and what they can eat.
"You know how my mom is. She'd flip if she ever found out that me and my sisters were eating meat..."CJ said.
Annie shook her head.
"You know, you guys could try TALKING to Aunt Sam..." Annie suggested.
CJ then looked at her like she is crazy.
"You know that won't work..."CJ said.
Annie shrugged.
"All I can suggest... still, you at least finished what was needed before your little trip?..."She asked.
"We had to, or else my dad wouldn't take us..." Tuck said.
CJ nodded
"Made sure we did our homework before we left..." He said.
"I did it too..." RJ said.
"So did I. Mom wouldn't let me do my weekend flights if I didn't finish, so I buckled down Friday night for it..." Annie said.
"At least, we all finished Mr. Uno's weekend homework..." Tuck said.
"Yeah, at least..."Annie said.
She made sure to always do her homework before patrol, just in case something happened and she was too tired to do it when she got home. Her mother insisted on it.
Anyway, since they had some time before class started, Annie and her friends started chatting.
"So, any plans for after school?..."Annie asked.
"I'm heading to Bueno Nacho..."R.J said.
Like his dad before him, R.J had a love for Bueno Nacho and was a regular there. His friends, however, did not share his enthusiasm for that establishment.
"Can't we eat somewhere else for once?..."CJ whined.
"You have no taste..." RJ said
"I could say the same..." CJ said
"I don't mind..." Annie said.
"And I would rather the Nasty Burger..."Tuck said.
"Makes sense Annie wouldn't mind... she spent her early summers in Middleton with her mom's parents. She lived off it there..." CJ said.
"So it's two to two..." Annie pointed out.
"Okay... it's a tie..." RJ said.
And now, to do the tie breaker.
"Rock! Paper! Scissors!..."Tuck said.
"Bring it..." CJ said with a smirk.
The two did Rock Paper Scissors and CJ groaned as his paper got cut by RJ's scissors.
"Boo yah! In the face Morgan!..." RJ cheered while CJ rolled her eyes
"Fine, we'll go to Bueno Nacho but I am not buying anything..." He said
"That's alright. More for me..."RJ said with a smug look.
"To eat or to take? You do Realize the stomach has a limit...right?..."CJ saild.
That got RJ riled up.
"Good food's good food..." The Bueno Nacho enthusiast remarked.
"Even if I agreed with your definition of good, the human stomach can only take so much..." CJ said.
Annie laughed
"You know you could always eat at different restaurants..." Annie suggested.
RJ and CJ looked at her like she suggested they grow a third leg or something just as impossible.
"Why would we do that?..." They asked
Annie laughed, shaking her head.
"Never mind..."She said.
She wasn't surprised since RJ and CJ had been like best friends since they were toddlers and they went almost everywhere together.
Even if their tastes in food differed.
Just then, the bell rang, meaning that it was time for class.
"Let's go!..." Tuck said as they hurried up.
Annie laughed.
"No big Tuck, we're coming..."Annie said to her friend.
And so, on to first period.
In Class
They soon arrived to their first class of the day.
English with Mr. Nigel Uno.
Mr. Uno was new to Casper High as well as one of the best teachers at school, though strict, he was actually fair. He had some background with stuff as a child, stuff he's long since made peace with and was an overall content adult who loved his job.
"Alright students, open your text books to page 27..."The teacher said.
Everyone groaned, but did as their told and Annie sighed as she tried to focus on her lesson and not Tawnie sending her the stink eye.
She sometimes wondered WHY Tawnie was so eager to impress a mother who barely showed any warmth of support. There was more to life than high school and so called popularity,
"She is such a... Bonnie!..." Annie thought, having heard her mother say that once and sees why now.
Seriously, just because she could flip around and cheered for football players it didn't make you royalty or something.
Heck, Annie had met ACTUAL royalty and other leaders a few times with her parents and they didn't act like Tawnie did.
Thank goodness.
Meanwhile as Tawnie sent Annie, she thought this.
"Watch yourself, A. You'll see things my way..."The snooty girl thought.
Suddenly, a certain someone got in her way.
"Ms. Rockwaller!..." Mr. Uno warned, seeing her not pay attention..."What is so special about Miss. Fentons back that it's taking your attention away from Mr. Twain?..."He said and the class began laughing now at her embarrassment.
Tawnie blushed
"Nothing sir..." she grumbled as the laughter kept up.
"Then I recommend paying attention. You've been slacking in class and don't think I can recognize another student's handwriting when I see your homework..."The teacher said.
Tawnie sent another glare to Annie, thinking she can start blaming her for this, even if Annie didn't do anything. Mr. Uno noticed and frowned again.
"Ms. Rockwaller..." Mr. Uno warned.
"I'll... get back to reading..."The "popular" girl said as she did so and lifted the book up.
Annie smirked.
"Good call, Mr. Uno..."She thought.
With that done, Uno directed his attention to the one cheerleader of the two in his class who pays attention.
"Ms. Fenton... care to read paragraph 4 for us?..."The teacher asked.
"Gladly, Mr. Uno..." Annie said as she stood up.
She was already a straight A student and she was more than happy to go along with the day.
Annie and her friends continued with their class, unaware of what this day has in store for them.
