Once, Takan had been transformed into a Half-Toa, Half-Rahi beast. A scorpion's tail had grown out of him and it oozed deadly poison. His mask distorted and turned tan with two spikes pointed out of the front. He resembled a Vorox if those existed on Barordak. His mind was the worst off. Twisting, winding, descending, all sorts and manners of adjectives downwards all to one result. Evil.

Takan's new powers and unleashed fury were almost too much for the Toa Nebula. It wasn't until Koey, the Toa Nebula of Ice froze Takan everywhere but his head and spoke the evil out of him. A verbal mirror the lost legends would call it. Koey described every evil act of destruction and murder he had done to those he had sworn to protect. Takan snapped in that speech. He knew what he did was wrong, that there would be no way to repay his debt. So he broke out of his jail, pushed Koey away, and disappeared.

Gawae was the most confused. She was one of two matoran in the cave, and before that, there were four. First was Nekora the Brave. Or stupid. After his scream, he was gone. Nothing else was there and the holes where his hands had been sealed off. Ten holes remained. She and Tadan had rushed up to the altar, trying to find any scrap or remnant of Nekora.

When none had been found and Tadan was desperate, he put his own hands on the altar. This time, flashes of red had filled the room. Tadan felt the sudden burst of power and pain jolt through him. From both hands to his brain, then his core. Gawae closed her eyes during the flash and when she opened them, Tadan was gone as well. Eight holes remained.

She almost put her own hands on the altar, before Hoei stopped her.

"We should wait for Cas and Lopek." Hoei looked into Gawae's worried eyes

"Two of my friends just vanished screaming bloody Rahi! Do you think I should wait? They might need our help!"

"If we rush in there, WE might need the help as well! Being unprepared won't get us far. This tunnel taught me that already,"

Gawae finally understood Hoei's reasoning. Taking time had been how all the matoran had avoided killing their ears in the echoing tunnels. If she took her time here unlike Nekora and Tadan, she could save the two. So Hoei and Gawae sat around, trying to read the ancient matoran and examining the cave they were in.

Cas and Lopek found the cave not too long after that. Gawae and Hoei explained what happened.

"So, our friends pain-screamed and vanished?" Lopek was examining the altar with his hands behind his back, "Do you think our feet would get trapped in this?"

"If you want to try, be my guest, just don't complain," Cas shook her head at Lopek, now that he could speak he had plenty of stupid ideas to share, "The way I see it, there are only two things we can do. Put our own hands on that altar. Or go back up and tell Turaga Stohn what happened here,"

"Tell Turaga Stohn!? Are you crazy? None of us should be here! Not even Nekora!" Hoei was adamant about his feelings, "Nekora was told to look at the Glacier. Nothing more, nothing less. Now I don't want to face the wrath of a Turaga and I bet neither of you want to either, but I was the one who brought Nekora and Tadan into this mess. I brought all of you here. I… I can't go back up there without ALL of you safe."

"Then it's settled. Everyone get your hands ready! On the count of three!" an eager Lopek positioned his hands dangerously close to the altar holes.

Hoei, Cas, and Gawae also put their hands near. On Lopek's "Three!" The room was filled with 4 bolts of light. Brown, White, Green, and Blue. Their screams echoed throughout the room and when it all subsided, the matoran were gone.

The four woke up in space. Purple clouds moved all around them and white dots littered their vision. They seemed to be on an invisible floor, others would think they were floating. Looking around, they all noticed something at once. They weren't matoran anymore.

They had all doubled their height and then some. Their masks had changed shape and seemed more threatening. Heavy armor protected them and they all had weapons. Two others walked up to the party. One was red and had a sword made of flame and the other black, with claws on both hands.

"There you guys are!" The black one said, running over and extending a hug to the party. His strong arms pulled and squished them together, "It feels like I've been here for centuries,"

"No offense, kind stranger, but who are you?" Lopek said

"... Nekora …"

"Oh. I like the look…"

"Thank you."

Tadan introduced himself to the others. They all looked at each other. They were something else for certain, but what? Then Hoei remembered the story Turaga Stohn had told him, about the Toa Nebula.

He looked around his friends and stepped forward, "Turaga Stohn told me a story. Six heroes with elemental powers saved Barordak Nui from evil. They were Toa. Heroes. I think we became Toa,"

"So we're Toa, whatever that means. Now, where are we?" Cas asked

No one had to answer. They all thought the same answer, they were in a mask. One of their new masks had the power to bring them here, bring them to a land far away from their home. Farther than any telescope or magical eye could see. They were within Hoei.

Hoei was the most confused out of all of them. How could he have brought Nekora and Tadan here before he had his mask? How was he in his mask!

That's when Nekora walked up to Hoei and tapped his mask, "Use it."

Hoei focused on his face, his mind went nowhere else. Soon, the clouds started to fade away, back into ice and the familiar cave they had previously been in. The altar was there, the torches were burning, and six Toa stood looking with shock at Hoei's power.

"Do you think I can do that?" Lopek asked, trying to fade the cave to space. He instead started spinning like a top. He quickly stopped and almost threw up, "Never… doing…. that again…"

"I wouldn't be too certain," Cas said, crouching down and touching the ice, "I can feel the ice move. Something. No, some THINGS are coming this way,"

Tadan lifted his sword of fire and pointed it towards the right tunnel. A beam of fire shot out and struck the ice, immediately melting it, "Yikes! This thing is dangerous! I was going to say prepare for combat but geez! Whatever is coming here doesn't stand a chance!"

All the other Toa readied their weapons in preparation for what was coming. Cas kept herself close to the floor, feeling the vibration and soon the sound of rolling. Out of the right tunnel, a ball of spinning blue came flying out and struck Lopek in the back. The tunnel collapsed behind the beast and Lopek crashed onto the floor, dazed. The ball bounced off and was flying towards Nekora who quickly batted it away with his claws.

The sphere slammed into the back wall and unfolded. The Gahlok crawled out of its crater and charged toward Nekora. Hoei stepped in between the two, pulled out his hammer, and slammed it into the Gahlok which was crushed to the floor. It rolled up into a ball and didn't move. Lopek got up and poked it with his new spear. He let out a high shriek as a spear of water burst through his chest.

All the water made by the torches was brought together by the Gahlok and formed a deadly weapon. Cas charged toward the Gahlok and stomped on it. When the spear came flying towards her, she extended her arms and shot ice from her fingertips. The ice froze the spear and it broke against the floor.

The Garlock rolled over and snapped its head at Cas' shins. She buckled down and was slapped aside by the Gahlok's shield. Its shields blocked Hoei's hammer and toppled him to the ground. Tadan tried to shoot fire at it but when it dodged he hit Lopek instead.

"This thing is too quick! How do we beat it?" Tadan looked at Nekora and Gawae, hoping they had a plan.

Nekora looked at his claws, Tadan's sword, and Gawae's shield.

"Tadan! Shoot your fire to the left of that beast, it should move right. Gawae, I want you to block its shields with your own while I hit it from behind!" Nekora ordered and the others followed.

Takan's fire kept moving the Gahlok closer and closer toward Gawae. When it tried to attack her, she blocked with her shield as Nekora hopped over the two and slashed the beast's back. The Gahlok screamed in pain as it turned around and whacked Nekora away. That's when Gawae noticed Gahlok's flaw. She whacked the back of its head and out popped the krana.

Tadan was on edge and burned it to ash before it could touch the ground. As the Gahlok tumbled over lifeless and its mind burned in front of her eyes, Gawae slowly and comedically looked over at Tadan as if to say "Bruh".

The two Toa helped their friends up. Lopek was the worst, badly hurt by the spear. Gawae walked over to Lopek and felt his wounds. He shot himself inwards from the pain.

"Hey Doc, how about you warn me next time!"

"Sorry."

Once again she felt his wound, this time leaving her hand on the hole and focusing on it. Her mask glowed and so did her hand. After a few seconds, Lopek's wound was healed and Gawae stopped using her Mask of Healing.

"Hmm. That's what that does?" she pondered.

"We need to get out of here. NOW!" Cas said, putting her hand on the ice again.

"Is there another one of those beasts?" Hoei asked getting his hammer out.

"Even worse. It's small and takes its time. I think it has three feet."

"Turaga Stohn!" Nekora said in realization. Then all of the Toa looked at each other with fear. Were they supposed to become Toa? Would Turaga Stohn yell at them? It was all very childish, having large Toa scared of a singular Turaga.

"Which tunnel is he taking?" Hoei walked over to Cas

"The left one."

"Then we take a right!" Hoei said, turning around and seeing the ruined exit, "Ok so maybe not."

"I have an idea!" Nekora said, "Lopek, I want you to spin-dig us another tunnel, this one upwards towards the Glacier's surface. Turaga Stohn may be able to go through these tunnels but he can't fly,"

"You want me to spin again? How about you try?" Lopek reached and surprisingly took off his mask. Nekora took it and slapped it back on Lopek's face, pointing towards the roof. "Fine,"

Lopek began to spin furiously and called upon his powers of air to give him a boost upwards. Soon he was digging upwards and moving all about, unable to keep a straight tunnel. As chunks of ice fell, Tadan practiced shooting the water with his fire. Gawae also honed her power over water, filling the Gahlok's hole with water.

"So now we have a tunnel. How do we get up?" Cas said, looking up at the winding tunnel.

Nekora jumped up into the tunnel and dug his claws into the side, "We climb. I make the holes."

So the Toa climbed up and up and up. Seemingly forever, they all wondered how a matoran was supposed to climb the Glacier. A better way had to be made. They all made it to the top and walked over to the edge. They all pointed out where they had previously worked. Hoei and Cas' tent, Turaga Stohn's tent, the Gukko stables. They saw small dots walking around and gukko birds flying all around.

On the ground, the crowd around Turaga Stohn looked up and saw six large beings standing on top of the Glacier. On top of the world, those kings looked down on their subjects. Turaga Stohn looked as well and saw the Toa.

"It is the Toa. They have conquered the height of the Glacier. Is that not proof that they can save us?"
