"Let's start with all the evil Witchdoctor has done," Cas looked over at Nekora who pulled up a list.

"So far he's kidnapped a matoran, forcibly using him and Turaga Stohn as social experiments. Then colluded with Evil Takan and came up with two plans. Mindwipe all the matoran, and help a glacier take over Barordak. Both were carried out by Witchdoctor. Then he also caused an avalanche, killing some matoran, and potentially killing more if we relocated inside."

"That's just the recent crimes, only he and Stohn know what evil he's done in the past. Now Nekora, list all the good he's done."

"Uhh… let's see here. He told us the name of the Bohrok. He also told us about Lord Takan, that's a big point."

"Anything else?"

"Not that I can think about."

"There. Two things of good do not outweigh the numerous evil he's done that we know of. I rest my case."

Cas sat down and everyone discussed what they thought of Witchdoctor. Their conversations were interrupted by Hoei appearing, dragging Witchdoctor across the floor by his heart.

"Hoei what are you doing!" Stohn yelled

"What's your verdict?"

"We haven't decided yet."

"Then we vote. I say death."

Hoei seemed angry at Witchdoctor like something had happened during their conversation. Cas agreed with Hoei and stood by his side. "Go to the other end of the room if you want him to live."

So the others got up and went to the sides which they believed in.

On the side to kill Witchdoctor were Hoei, Cas, Tadan, and Lopek.

On the other side were Gawae and Nekora.

Turaga Stohn wanted to stay out of the vote. He believed that his history with Witchdoctor would interfere with his judgment. Solurae stood out because his only thoughts towards Witchdoctor were killing and maiming, not rational decisions.

"Nekora, you wrote down the facts! How can you think of letting him live?" Tadan asked

"He's old. Think of the knowledge I could get from him. Think of everything he could do if he just told the truth."

"The only truth he's told is evil!"

"He's told us about Lord Takan! We have a purpose now! We know who we have to defeat to keep the matoran safe. We need to break the Glacier and kill Lord Takan."

Now was the perfect time for Hoei to step in, "Would you change your mind if Witchdoctor told me the only way to break the Glacier is his blood?"

Witchdoctor gasped for air and added, "It's true!"

Everyone was shocked by this. Nekora responded, "Why didn't you tell us that before?"

"I uh… sorry." Hoei closed his eyes and hung his head down.

Nekora was having doubts about keeping Witchdoctor alive now. Killing him and removing the Glacier seemed like the first step to defeating Lord Takan. He looked over at Gawae, who so far had diligently stood by Witchdoctor's side, it was her idea to have the one question to live, which spiraled into this killing vote.

"Gawae. Why do you want Witchdoctor to live?"

"The same reason as you. We all know Witchdoctor has information that he isn't sharing. Maybe there's another way to remove the Glacier's protection than his blood. Maybe dying is the easy way out of a bigger threat. If the Glacier suddenly loses its magic, Takan's defenses are gone. Then he'll go after Witchdoctor."

Witchdoctor butted in after that, "Is this where I get a third chance to say one thing to live?"

Hoei placed his foot against Witchdoctor's head and pressed him to the floor. "Say what's on your mind."

"Nothing, I was hoping I could come up with something before you kill me."

Nekora walked over to WItchdoctor and got down on the floor to look at him. "There is another way. Isn't there."

"Great deduction skill."

"Hoei, get off of him. Let me handle this." Hoei obeyed Nekora's wishes and stopped his torture.

Nekora helped Witchdoctor up and seated him on a chair. "What is this other way to destroy the Glacier?"

"Wait for it to slide off Barordak."

Nekora knew Witchdoctor wanted to die, intimidating him or threatening him with death wouldn't do anything. Nekora needed a way to force Witchdoctor to beg for life. As backward as it sounds, the only way for Witchdoctor to spill the beans is to give him a reason to live.

"Hey Stohn, how powerful would you say Koey is?" Nekora asked, turning his head entirely away from WItchdoctor so he couldn't see his face. Nekora tried to get across what he was thinking to Stohn. He needed to get Stohn to understand Witchdoctor in a new way, that since Witchdoctor wants to die, they need to give him a reason to live. Or show him a fate worse than death.

Stohn understood Nekora's question as just that, a question, and started to talk about how Koey was arguably the strongest Toa out of all the Toa Nebula. Nekora's plan wasn't working. Nekora tried to get his message across again. When he tried as hard as possible, moving his face into a swirl of looks, his mask flashed. In that instant Stohn understood Nekora, and Nekora understood his mask. Telepathy.

With this information, Stohn walked over to Witchdoctor and sat down in front of him. "You know… I know where Koey went."

Everyone was surprised by this and Witchdoctor said "So what."

"I could bring him here. And he could remove that Glacier for us. Then we would have no use for you."

Nekora knew what he didn't know. And that was Witchdoctor. So he asked someone who knew, Stohn. Stohn knew that what Witchdoctor loved most was to do stuff. Anything really, and he hated being replaced. So if Stohn offered a replacement to him, he would act out.

"Oh please, that Glacier is under my protection. There's no way Koey could move that Glacier. And why would he? He gave up being a Toa!"

"Koey left because he was tired of being a Hero. Now, he could be a villain. A better Villain than you by a long shot. You wouldn't even be a snake compared to Koey."

"Gr… Stohn. You know as well as anyone that I AM THE GREATEST VILLAIN TO EVER LIVE!"

"Then is Lord Takan not alive? Is he not real?"

"I AM THE BEST!"

"Then destroy Lord Takan. Destroy the foundation that hides him from everything. Or is he too strong?"

"You want to remove the Glacier? Underneath my cave is a pulsing heart, just like mine. Beat it, and the ice will become just that. Ice."

Stohn thanked Witchdoctor and turned to the Toa, "You have your mission, but first we must finish the vote. Should Witchdoctor live?"

Lopek spoke up, "Turaga Stohn, Witchdoctor has frenzy-told us what we need to do. Go beneath his cave and destroy the heart, then kill Lord Takan. What else can he tell us?"

Lopek had a point, Witchdoctor had pleasantly laid out the steps for saving Barordak. The matoran could go back to living life on Barordak, instead of moving up the Glacier. Cas agreed, now that they had a purpose, they didn't need Witchdoctor. They had all the information they needed.

The vote was the same. The majority wins, Witchdoctor dies.

Tadan towered over Witchdoctor on the floor and pointed his sword at the monster.

"Any last words? Rahi scum?"

"Takan has been busy. He has allies."

"That's it? No regrets? No remorse for the evil you've done?"

"I liked the old Nebula more."

Tadan looked over at the other Toa. Hoei, Cas, and Lopek were aiming their weapons. Nekora and Gawae stood away.

The four Toa shot out blasts of pure, elemental energy and struck Witchdoctor's cage. Its strong material fought back the combined laser until it cracked and shattered. His heart was quickly destroyed and only the husk of Witchdoctor was left. It promptly fell to the ground, creating a loud thunk that echoed through the empty halls of Hoei's realm.

Lopek, Cas, and Tadan went to the cave where Witchdoctor had said the Glacier's heart was while the other Toa helped the matoran prepare for the Glaciers melting. At the good news of the Glacier's defeat, the matoran rejoiced and happily followed the Toa's will.

In the cave, Lopek drilled straight down from the floor and found the heart. It was suspended by nothing, simply floating in the air. It was in a square room, probably no longer than 10 feet in any direction. Lopek yelled up to the others. Cas and Gawae fell from the hole and landed in the heart chamber.

The heart was bright orange and pulsating violently. Its veins bulged and squirmed around, pumping whatever was inside. The Toa readied their blasts and sent a combined blast of energy at the heart. The heart exploded into a stinging, orange goo, coating the entire room. Lopek used his mask to spin the goo off him. He brought Cas into the tunnel leaving Gawae in the room where he spun her, getting the goo off. After Gawae was Cas. Once they were all clean of the strange goo, Cas tried to control the Glacier's ice.

To their surprise, Cas could change and move the Glacier. She made a staircase up to the surface where the Toa emerged. It was nearing sundown. The day had started with Lopek's discovery of his ability to mine the Glacier. Then Cas, Tadan, and Solurae confronted Witchdoctor. That quickly turned into the true story of what happened to the original Toa Nebula, and then into Witchdoctor's trial and execution. Now the Toa had a mission, a destiny to kill Lord Takan and protect the matoran of Barordak.

Now the vibrant purples, blues, and greens of the sky were shining in Cas' face. The colors were more vibrant now than ever before. The sky was so clear she could have reached up and felt the beams of light in her hand. The air was light and filled with the scent of pure, chilled ice. Walking back to the other Toa she paid attention to the ice beneath her feet. She used a bit of her power to leave footprints on the ice. The Glacier's protection was gone, she could manipulate the entire Glacier.

When the two trios met up and discussed the matoran's safety and what the heart was like, Cas kept walking, going to the edge, and looking down. She took a big inhale of air and felt the smells from below, campfires were starting to burn and the early smoke plumed up, high into the air. When it reached Cas, the smell was dim, diluted by time and the inevitable dispersal.

The tiny dots of matoran scrambling around, preparing for the melting of the Glacier were seen. What they were doing, Cas didn't know. Maybe they were telling Turaga Stohn, maybe they were packing up, maybe those early ones gathering around the campfires were sharing stories about what they remember from mainland Barordak.

Cas couldn't remember. She thought it was Witchdoctor's mindwipe. Maybe he wiped more than just the memory of the Toa Nebula. Maybe he wiped all memory of past Barordak, and then the Glacier came, preventing the matoran from reading the texts of the Great Archive and remembering the past. Witchdoctor had planned this all. He knew everything from the start. It's good that he's dead.

Cas had an idea stirring around in her head, and looking down at the matoran, contemplating gave her the time to process and connect her thoughts. Her head shot up and stared off into the ocean when she realized what she was thinking.

Cas crouched down and put her knees and hands flat against the ice. She closed her eyes and focused on the ice beneath her. Her fingers clawed into the ice, gripping it. The ground started to shake slightly, then became more violent. Cas continued to plant herself on the Glacier, she was moving with it in perfect sync, not being thrown around. The ones on top of the Glacier only felt an earthquake.

The matoran on the ground could see what was truly happening. The Glacier was receding. It moved backward revealing a wet, matted-down grass and it didn't stop. The Glacier kept moving away from the ocean. It was almost like the Great Spirit of Mata Nui was moving the Glacier himself.
