Swallowed
three: her father comes to tuck her into bed
dis.claimed.

Logan wants to put her in her old room, hoping, perhaps, that the familiarity of it might shake something loose in her. He is foiled by Hank's insistence that the medical wing would be more appropriate in Rogue's battered state—never minding her obviously unstable mental condition besides.

Logan wants to touch her. Place a hand on her cheek and watch the swollen lips and marring bruises shrink and retreat. Again, Hank stops him. This time it is all about minding the effect of what activating her powers could do to her—if it would possibly lose her all the more to them.

Logan only wants what he thinks Rogue needs, but—unable to provide these things for her—he can only curl a gloved hand around hers and smooth his thumb over her knuckles. Somehow, he is always helpless when she needs him the most.
