Ivy's POV
Ryan was aggravating the HELL out of me. "I wonder if she's okay, I mean Eric did tell you all about what happened. That had to be traumatic!"
"...Ryan. I am three seconds from punching you in the dick, stop pacing my living room and stop rambling like a worried mother. She is with Godric and he will attend to whatever she needs, he's whipped. We have no reason to worry."
"But-"
"But nothing! You know as well as I do that she has never let anyone else in enough to help her, she has pretended time and time again that she was fine whenever we tried to help her, he is the only one she has let close enough and if we push we could fuck that up. She needs him and as much as it sucks we have to sit back and fucking watch Ryan! Sit down and shut the fuck up!" I felt bad as I watch his shocked face darken with a heavy emotion. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you." I told him with my next breath.
"It's fine. I'm going to go call Isabel." His tone was dark, I could tell he was angry. Unsure of how to fix this, I just nodded and watched my friend walk out the door.
Sighing I pulled out my phone and texted Eric. As I hit send, I got up from the couch and went into the kitchen to make coffee.
-How is she?-
-Fine. She is in Godric's room speaking with him in regards to the children.-
-You know she's probably going to want to keep them.-
-Impossible.-
-Clara does a lot of impossible things but you mentioned a bond between her and the girl? She won't abandon her.-
-Her loyalty is at times unfathomable.-
-Are you coming over tonight?-
-No, Godric requires my presence. His nestmate has not taken well to Clara or the shifters.-
-Alright, thanks for looking out for them.-
Clara's POV
We had a long discussion regarding the children and their situation, finding out that they were along with no living relatives had been concerning. However convincing Godric that the children needed a stable environment hadn't been hard. He even got in touch with someone who could write up the papers for me to take custody of them, however when I mentioned leaving the 'nest' because of the potential danger we were in by being close to Stan... Godric stopped everything and stared at me. I was unable to read his expression, however I could see the muscles tense in his body. I knew this was going to be difficult.
"Hun you do know that I have a life, my bookstore cannot be run by Adrien forever. I appreciate your help with my classes but I don't feel right using your office to do my homework all the time. If I don't return to the apartment my neighbors with begin to ask questions. Staying in this house was never forever... I stayed because you are uncomfortable with the distance and for some reason I find it oddly adorable. Though we do have to face the facts that with danger this close and your a busy man, you cannot protect me from everything and Eric cannot drop everything to protect me all the time. He has his own life, his own problems."
I didn't expect Godric to wordlessly walk past me, watching the door click shut. "Way to fuck that up Clara." I muttered under my breath and sat on the edge of the bed. Sighing, I got back up and walked to the closet. I started going through the clothes Godric had gotten for me and pulled out a pair of black jeans and a light blue sweater. I changed out of my shorts and tank and then left the room. Walking right into Stan. "Where are you going?" He demanded.
"To meet my mother."
"Hasn't she tried to kill you?"
"Maybe she'll succeed this time."
"One could only hope." He left after that and I went and told Isabel where I was going before I headed for the door. Godric had said he would go with me but with everything going on... I will do this on my own.
Everything will be fine, I thought as I walked outside... I hope.
