Chapter 7
Arizona's P.O.V:
I stood outside Lt. Torres's door, working up the courage to knock. Today was the day she was taking me to see my brother and I couldn't be any more excited. He had texted me last night saying that he had changed his flight plan and would be in late last night instead of this morning.
"Here goes nothing," I say to myself. I let out a huge sigh and slightly knock on the door. There's shuffling behind the door and before I know it, it swings open.
"What do you want?" Major Hahn growls out. It looked like she had still been asleep, and I had just woken her up.
"I... umm...I wanted to see if Lt. Torres was in," I stammered out.
"Wrong room, Maggot. She's two doors down, room 502," she gruffs, then slams the door in my face.
"So not a morning person," I mutter out, letting out a chuckle. Instead of heading to room 502, I decided to head down to the dining hall for breakfast. When I walked in, there was Lt. Torres sitting with Lt. Montgomery. There were talking amongst themselves and laughing. I smile to myself and walk up to the two ladies, "Good morning, Lieutenants," They both looked up at me and smiled.
"Morning, Robbins," Montgomery answers, "what can we do for you?"
"Oh, I just wanted to see if Lt. Torres was still up to taking me to my appointment this morning?"
"Appointment" Montgomery questions, raising her brow, "Torres, you didn't tell me that you were taking the new Cadet to an appointment,"
"Yeah, well..." Callie says, clearing her throat, "it was last minute," Addison just smirks at her friend.
"Am I missing something here?" I ask, between the two Lieutenants.
"Oh, it's nothing," Addison says, still smirking at her friend.
"We're still on," Callie says. I give her a nod, then turn and walk away.
Callie's P.O.V:
After Arizona walked away, I turned and give my best friend an evil glare.
"So, you two have an appointment huh?" she asks, wagging her eyebrows, "you finally coming to your senses?"
"No, I'm not finally coming to my senses. I'm taking Robbins to see her brother,"
"Uh-huh, where at?"
"One of the hotels five minutes up the street, why do you care?"
"It seems awfully convenient that you didn't share this little detail with me, considering I am your best friend and all,"
"What was there to share?"
"That you were going to be spending some alone time with her,"
"Were not going to be alone, Addison. Her brother will be there too,"
"How do I know that this isn't just a cover-up? You supposedly taking her to see her brother at his hotel, but when really, you're taking her to fuck her," Addison smirks.
"You know what, shut it," I say, giving her a shove, "I'm not taking her to a hotel to fuck her," I grab my tray off the table and dispose of the rest of the contents into the trash and walk over to Arizona's table.
"Robbins, meet me out in front in an hour, don't be late," I say to her, interrupting her conversation with Teddy, then walk away.
After an hour, Arizona finally joins me out in front.
"You're late, Robbins," I scold.
"You better check your watch again, Lt. I'm right on time," she chuckles. We walk to the car to head out to meet her brother. The five-minute ride to the hotel was silent, so I decided to break the silence.
"So..." I draw out, "where does your brother live at?"
"Baltimore with my parents," she answers. I just give her a nod and focus back on the road, "he's two years older than me,"
"What?" I questioned, looking at her again.
"He's two years older than me. He will be twenty next month,"
"Oh, you were both born in March?"
"How did you know I was born in March?" she asks, raising her brow, "have you been stalking me, Calliope?" What did she just call me?
"What did you just call me?" I ask her, giving her an evil glare.
"Calliope. That's your name, isn't it? Calliope Torres?"
"No one calls me that except for my dad,"
"Well, he's not here, is he?" she says, sounding a little amused.
"No, but..."
"But what? Calliope?"
"But nothing," I say, letting out a sigh. I should be upset by her using my real name, but hearing it roll off her tongue the way it did, just did something to me. Hearing my name come from her beautiful mouth caused my stomach to flutter.
"So, what's your story?" she asks me.
"What do you mean? I don't have a story," I try to tell her.
"Everyone has one, Calliope. I mean, how did you end up at West Point?"
"I really don't want to talk about it," I say, shutting her down. The car remained silent until we pulled up to the hotel her brother was staying in. She gets out of the car, and goes to walk in, but turns and opens her door.
"You coming?" she asks.
"You want me to come along?"
"Well yeah, you're my Lt. I need a chaperone, don't I?" I just roll my eyes, cut the engine, climb out of the car and follow her into the lobby.
As we approach the counter, the lady at the front desk smiles.
"How can I help you ladies today?" she asks.
"Timothy Robbins room please?" Arizona says to her.
"I'm sorry, but we can't give out guest information, hotel policy. I'm sure you understand,"
"Actually, no I don't," Arizona says, sounding a little agitated, "he's expecting me,"
"Then maybe you should call him, first," says, forcing a smile.
"isn't that your job?" Arizona snaps, "I mean, you work the front counter, you should be able to call the guests to get their permission, am I right?"
"Not necessarily," the lady says, trying to be calm as possible.
"Look, all I'm asking is for you to direct me to my brother's room," As Arizona talked to the lady at the counter, I couldn't help but feel amused at how more agitated Arizona was getting. It was kind of cute watching her get flustered as the lady kept denying her any information.
"All I'm saying is that I can't give you any information on a guest, now, if you don't mind, I need to get back to work," she says. Arizona just scoffs and walks back over to stand with me.
"What's going on? Do you know which room he is in?" I ask, pretending I didn't hear any of the conversations.
"No, bitch won't fucking tell me," she says loudly.
"Did you try to call him?" I ask her. She shakes her head, then pulls her phone out of her pocket, dials a number, then puts the device to her ear. She walks away for a moment to take the call, then comes back to stand next to me.
"He said he's up on the 3rd floor. Room 3301," she says. We make our way towards the elevators to head up to the third floor, "Thanks for nothing," I hear her spit out to the lady at the counter.
Stepping off the elevator on the third floor, we head in the direction of room 3301.
"Right here," Arizona says, pulling us to a stop. She turns to me and smiles, "thank you for letting me do this, it means a lot," I give her a nod, then knock on the door. We wait a few minutes before the door opens and were greeted by a tall blonde who looked like the replica of the woman next to me.
"Baby sis," the man greets Arizona. His dimples pop just like Arizona's when she smiles. Great!
"Timothy Daniel," Arizona screeches and pulls the taller man into a hug.
"How's it going, baby sis," he says, still hugging the smaller version of himself.
"Awesome now that I got to see you," she says, pulling from his embrace. He looks at me and his eyes go wide.
"Who's this?" he questions his little sister. Arizona smiles and introduces us.
"This is my Lieutenant, Callie Torres. Lt. this is my brother, Timothy Robbins," I reach my hand out to shake the man's hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Timothy," I say, shaking his hand.
"Likewise," he says smiling, "so, where is she?"
"Where's who?" I question, looking between Arizona and her brother.
"Her crus...ow!" Tim yelps, holding his side, "what?" Arizona looks at me, then back at her brother before leaning in and whispering something into his ear.
"Ah," he says, "Gotcha, so, you want to come in for a minute?" Arizona looks at me, and I just give her a slight nod.
"Sure," she says, flashing her brother a smile. Tim steps aside for us to enter the room.
For the next forty-five minutes, the two Robbins spend their time catching up, talking about anything and everything.
"So, Lt. Torres, tell me a little bit about you? Arizona and I have been over here bullshitting, never got a chance to get to know you,"
"Not much to tell," I say shortly.
"Really? Are you from around here?"
"No, I grew up in Miami. Went to College at Florida State. Then started at West Point last year,"
"Nice, so..." as he was about to ask another question, my phone starts to ring. I looked at the caller I.D and saw that it was Webber calling. Shit!
"Sorry, I have to take this," I say, stepping out of the room for privacy.
Arizona's P.O.V:
After Callie stepped out to take a phone call, my brother looks at me with a smirk on his face.
"That's her, huh? Your crush?"
"What's it to you?" I question him.
"Nothing. She's hot! Can't blame you for wanting her,"
"Yeah, well I can't," I say sadly.
"Why not? If you like her, go for it,"
"it's not the easy, Tim," I snap, "she's, my Lt... She's off-limits,"
"Since when do you ever follow the rules, Zona? I mean, come on, how do you think you ended up where you are now?"
"Wow, really?" I ask him, raising my brow, daring him to say something else.
"Look, all I'm saying is that if you want her, tell her. Who cares if she's off-limits. I saw the way she was watching you; she wants you too,"
"Yeah right," I scoff, "I'm seventeen, Tim. What makes you think she wants me?"
"Age is just a number, Sis. Trust me, go for it, you won't regret it," he says with a grin.
Maybe I should...
*Well? Let me know what you think. *
