"Thinking of You"
Starfire sighed as she ran her fingers through the cold and chilly water, as the wind bristled through her long fiery red hair. Here she was sitting on the shore of the Titans Island in the middle of the night. She could just imagine what everyone was doing at this moment, beast boy and cyborg most probably snoring their heads off, raven reading one of her dark books and drifting to sleep and robin…
"Where is Robin anyway?" she thought to herself. Starfire looked back at all the good times she and Robin shared, well maybe there weren't so many but she could name a few, the time when her sister Blackfire came to visit, then there was when Robin had to take that kitten girl to her prom and in the end she and Robin ended up dancing together.
She liked being around Robin. He made her feel safe and happy. Whenever Robin was around she would feel excited, and would feel as if she had a thousand butterflies in her stomach. But most of all she loved being a titan and saving people. She considered this life much better than her old one. She thought back to her old life and sighed heavily. Being a princess was no joke. Sure you had it all the clothes, the shoes, the palace, but what was the use of a palace if you felt like a prisoner in it?
I mean everyone telling you what to do, where to go, how to dress, and act. Controlling your life. You had to be good in every single thing, flawless, completely….perfect. God how she hated that word. You weren't in control of your own life. You were living a lie. That's why she came here, to get in control of her own life to do what she loved to do. Help others, show them that different people can be special and help you out.
She also found what she wouldn't have found in her old life, a friend. A person who would help you out, have fun with, and much more. Every one of the titans were her friends but the best she considered was Robin. Robin was special to her. She felt that he cared a lot for her, just as much as she cared for him. Could she have felt him and her being more than just friends? No. she thought. She couldn't possibly l… lo... Love him could she?
A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts, "Starfire?"
"Robin? She asked surprised. "Why aren't you asleep yet?"
"I thought someone was awake then I saw you sitting here all by yourself." he answered.
Starfire needed to tell him how she felt. But how? The direct approach is always the best." She thought to herself.
"Robin." She said looking into his eyes, (kind of hard when he always has that stupid mask on)
"Do you ever think of us, as well more than just friends?" she asked nervously.
"Well, Star, I don't know if you have thought the same, but yes I have and I still do. He replied taking her hand in his.
Starfire blushed. "Robin I don't know what to say, I think of you the same way, but I don't know if our friends would-
Robin put his finger to her lips. "They already know." He answered calmly.
"What do you mean, they already know?" she asked confused.
"They always tease me about it, u know us together and all."
"Oh." She said blushing even harder.
"Look." he said pointing towards the horizon. "The sun is rising."
"Its beautiful." She said watching the horizon.
"Yes you are." He answered wrapping his arm around her waist, as they both watched the sun rise, enjoying their time together.
