And we're back folks! With a new chapter of our Fantastic Adventure featuring Spidey! First of all, I really want to apologize for an incredibly long delay on the update, but my work life has gone quite heavy these past weeks (aside of a side project I've been involved with) so it took me away from working on the fics as I intended to, but here I am, still delivering and making the effort to conclude the story.

Speaking of, our webbed wonder is determined to help the Fantastic Family and he's even dressed for the occasion with his Black-and-Blue suit, but trouble seems to be looming, meaning that the Frightful Four are ready to roll.

Now, before we go to our reviews, let's check the reviews!

Cornholio4: Yes, Wizard is the leading villain, and just wait what this new Frightful Four might do

Young justice 17: Yes, I opted for the Black and Blue suit for Spidey since he technically isn't a Future Foundation member anymore, thus he went with his new, and pretty cool, suit. As for this being the moment when he and Lockheed finally get along… maybe it is, maybe it isn't, just stay tuned my friend!

The Timeless Writer: Oh they sure did, and things might go even hectic over here

Wilcard Sparda: Like I said above, this might be the time, just stay tuned!

Ka1zen: Franklin will have his time to shine over here as well, and yes, he is the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe and he should be given that status back, am I right?

El-lector327: Ten por seguro que Peter se enfocará en ello, no por nada tiene esa genialidad que al menos la familia Richards si aprecia (A diferencia de cierto millonario)

OK, with that said, let's jump to our story!

Enjoy the reading!

SPIDER-FOUR: THROUGH THE FOREVER GATE

Chapter 3: Frightful Assault

With the family working hard to find a solution to Johnny Storm's situation, the Human Torch is contained in a custom built room where his growing temperature does not affect the surroundings of Reed's lab at 4 Yancy Street.

"Man, just when we were gettin' ready to the big movin', this happens" Ben mutters, pointing out the detail that the family was ready to move out of their current location.

"We know Uncle Ben" Valeria replies to his comment "The rebuilt Baxter Building is almost ready, but I get the point, Dad still has to build yet another containment room over there" she explains, knowing about the family's return to their original home at the Baxter Building.

"The priority is helping Johnny with his situation, which we're glad to be able to help with" Julie Power, co-leader of the Future Foundation, joins the talk since the Foundation arrived to assist the family with this.

"I think we're ready to give it a go" Alex Power, the other co-leader, types on the computer as they begin to prepare a special test on him "Polar Beams are ready and aimed at him"

"Very well, let's make it cold in here" Reed comments as he prepares himself "Polar Beam Test in 3… 2… 1… Go!" right then he pushes the button and four blue beams fire at Johnny's position, enveloping him in a thick layer of ice.

"I think it's working" Susan looks at the data, noticing how the temperature begins to drop.

"Keep it steady" Alex comments to his sister as they both keep control of the beams, but then they notice a growing white cloud inside the room.

"Alex? What's that?" Julie asks as the cloud engulfs the room and the temperature once again grows exponentially.

"That… was the sign of another failure" Alex replies as he sighs out of frustration "I'm so sorry Doctor Richards"

"There's no need to apologize Alex" Reed calmly replies "We're just crossing this one off and move on to the next try"

"GUYS? I'M HUNGRY!" Johnny calls out from the room.

"That actually makes me wonder, how are you feeding Johnny?" Julie asks out of curiosity "With his current status it might be impossible to grab anything remotely to food"

"I already found a way around it" Reed explains as he pulls out a large needle gun with two vials of liquid "This has an Adamantium needle that can withstand Johnny's temperature, allowing me to inject him the necessary nutrients for his daily dose" he explains to them how he manages to feed Johnny until they find a solution to his condition.

MEANWHILE, IN ANOTHER POINT…

As the adults try to find a solution to Johnny's problem, Franklin and Valeria hang around with Jo-Venn and N'Kalla, the adopted Grimm children under the supervision of Alicia Masters-Grimm.

"I really hope they can find a solution soon" Alicia comments with a solemn tone "But part of me wonders what happened to Sky" she mentions Johnny's now ex-girlfriend.

"Of course!" Valeria immediately perks up "Uncle Johnny's Soulbond Band!"

"What about it?" Franklin asks his sister.

"Aside of our regular suits, the Soulbond is the only thing not afflicted by Uncle Johnny's excessive temperatures" she explains, pointing out that valuable detail.

"Maybe they can have the answer" N'Kalla intervenes "I mean we still don't know many things about her and her species".

"Is there any way to contact this bird lady?" Jo-Venn poses the question.

"There is actually" Valeria replies as she activates her communicator to contact her "Sky? Hello?" she tries to reach her until a beep is heard.

"Hello Valeria" Sky's voice is heard through the call, yet her tone sounds with a mix of seriousness and sadness.

"Sky, Hi" Valeria replies "I'm sorry if I disturbed you but I'm calling about Uncle Johnny and, we know that things ended bad between you two but he…"

"Something happened to him, I know" Sky replies with the same tone "I'm already on my way to your home" she adds, abruptly ending the call, leaving Valeria a bit surprised.

"What happened? Is she coming?" Alicia asks her with a hint of concern.

"She said that she was coming" Valeria replies "But she sounded kinda… sad"

"Figures" a voice interjects in the conversation, revealed to be from Bentley-25, the Wizard's young clone and a member of the Future Foundation "I heard Alex and Julie talking about what happened to Johnny and reviewing the data I found a curious detail" he explains as he enters the room "Those Soulbonds allow the bearers to share feelings and experiences, right?"

"It's the belief from the Spyrican Culture that they both share them in a more direct approach" Valeria replies as she pays attention to his explanation.

"Exactly and in this case their bond might go very literal" Bentley adds as he shows her the data with the reviews built by him "Meaning that whatever afflicted Johnny…"

"Might have also afflicted her…" Valeria finishes Bentley's sentence as she reaches the same conclusion.

"Wait, are you saying that Sky might be hurt from what happened to Uncle Johnny?" Franklin asks them.

"That doesn't sound good at all" N'Kalla comments with concern as well.

"Is it possible that the bird lady might come with hostile intentions?" Jo-Venn asks with curiosity.

"Well… considering the circumstances, I really hope that's not the case" Alicia responds to the comments of her adoptive children.

"I have to tell Mom and Dad about this" Valeria comments and then looks at Bentley "Thank you for your help Bentley" she adds as she leaves the room.

"Oh Y-Y-You're welcome Val…" Bentley replies in an almost goofy tone, prompting Franklin to roll his eyes.

"Come on, let's go and check on how things are going with the rest" Alicia comments, prompting the rest of the group to leave the room while Valeria attempts to reach out her father. However, unbeknownst to them, a fly reaches the place and flies around the house until it reaches the laboratory where it lands on a panel.

"Yellowjacket to Command, the Bug has landed" Yellowjacket communicates to his fellow villains, just as he lands on a panel right next to a massive portal "This is the thing where we'll trap them, right?" he asks as he contemplates the structure.

"Exactly, Mr. Cross" the voice of the Wizard is heard through the communicator "They call it 'The Forever Gate', a portal that can send them across any dimension in this or any other universe"

"And how do you know how to operate it?" Yellowjacket asks him as he approaches the control panel.

"Of course I do!" Wizard replies, sounding offended by that doubt "I already gave you the schematics and how to operate it" he adds with growing frustration.

"Alright! Alright, I get it" Yellowjacket replies as he activates the controls of the Forever Gate, just as someone walks inside the laboratory.

"Val? Are you there?" A young man's voice is heard, prompting Yellowjacket to quickly turn around "What the? HEY! You're an intruder!" he exclaims pointing at him while Yellowjacket quickly looks around.

"Dammit! I'm busted!" Yellowjacket exclaims while he activates a laser from his wrist.

"Hang on Cross!" Wizard's voice becomes angrier after that response "This was part of the plan, and if I were you, I wouldn't even think about hurting him" he warns him, prompting the armored villain to stop.

"Why can't I hit the kid before he rings the alarm?" Yellowjacket throws the question, sounding completely annoyed but right then he decides to aim his cannons at the kid, who moves his hand to activate the alarm, ringing all over the laboratory, including the room where the Richards family and the rest of the Future Foundation are located "DAMN IT! What now!?"

"You stay put Cross, we're on our way" Wizard replies ending the call while Yellowjacket's anger just keeps growing.

"I don't know who you are, but you're screwed" Yellowjacket angrily fires at the kid who manages to dodge the attack, just as the children arrive alongside Alicia.

"What's going on?" Franklin exclaims as he looks at the scene.

"Bentley? What happened?" Valeria asks the young boy, revealed to be Future Foundation member Bentley-25, the Wizard's young clone "Who's that guy?"

"He's an intruder, that's what he is" Jo-Venn replies as he prepares to fight.

"And you know what Father would say?" N'Kalla poses the question.

"Sweet Aunt Petunia?" Jo-Venn asks, to which N'Kalla groans and rolls her eyes.

"No, the other line" N'Kalla replies with a hint of annoyance.

"Oh, right" Jo-Venn makes the quick realization and then both stand in guard.

"IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!" They both exclaim, eagerly jumping into action but suddenly, a burst of fire appears between them, revealing three figures: Diablo, Wizard and Mister Hyde, already transformed into his hulking form.

"Took you long enough…" Yellowjacket mutters as he joins his cohorts.

"You can stop your whining Cross" the Wizard comments to annoy him and then looks directly towards his young clone "Bradley, my boy, it's been a long time" he comments, prompting the adopted Grimm children to look at him "The three of you can handle those pesky children while I do what we came to do" he adds as he marches towards the Forever Gate's control panel to activate it.

"Very well, let's make a quick work of these children" Diablo comments but once they approach the children; a wall of flames emerges between them, brought by a burst of fire courtesy of the Human Torch.

"Ya touch them, ya DEAD!" Ben Grimm quips at them just as the Fantastic Four, alongside the Power siblings, join the fray.

"Great, was this supposed to happen?" Mister Hyde angrily asks but his fellow criminals remain poised to attack.

"Who cares? I'm here to screw this family and I ain't leaving without a win!" Yellowjacket exclaims while he fires his cannon but it is deflected by one of Invisible Woman's force fields.

"Now you'll know what happens…" Susan speaks with a menacing tone.

"When you try and hurt our family" Reed finishes the sentence as he stretches to intercept the Wizard "I'm afraid that your attempt at breaking and entering ends here Wizard"

"On the contrary Richards" Wizard grins as he activates a device on his wrist "I'm just starting!" he then creates a force field around him, which creates a pulse wave that pushes Reed away, giving him room to manipulate the Forever Gate's controls while his fellow members fight against the Fantastic Four.

MEANWHILE, ACROSS THE CITY

Once Peter managed to check on his apartment to pick up his own gadgets, and a quick change of clothes, he swings on his way back to 4 Yancy Street to help the family out with Johnny's situation, while still checking Rachna Koul's notes in order to find a solution to that and Franklin's issues as well.

"Doctor Koul might have proven one hell of a theory, but for someone as unique as Frankie, what would his 'Godpower' connection be?" Peter ponders as he keeps swinging, but as he approaches the area, two figures fly nearby and one of them begins to trigger his Spider-Sense "What the?" he swings away only to barely dodge a sonic attack that came from the sky "WHOA! Hey! Who's the happy trigger?" he manages to land on a rooftop, looking above to notice one flying figure approaching him, while the second one fires another sonic attack behind it, prompting Peter to jump away to dodge it "OK, they're making a show and might as well be endangering civilians, so let's put an end to it" he then turns to face the incoming flyers, timing their momentum to jump above the first one and fire a web-ball that envelops the second one, prompting it to crash against another rooftop "Well, that settles it… an it was quick" he mutters as he swings towards the other rooftop, finding the winged figure trying to be free.

"Wait! I can explain!" a female voice is heard, one that Peter tries to recognize.

"Hang on; your voice is familiar…" Peter mutters as he slowly approaches her since his Spider-Sense is no longer registering any danger.

"I was –ughn!- I was trying to protect you from that" the woman tries to point at the other flying creature, one that Peter quickly recognizes.

"What? Who? Wait… Lockheed?" Peter looks surprised to find his girlfriend's companion, who flies and roars at him "Dude, you know I can't speak your language" he comments at him, prompting the dragon to gesture as if rolls his eyes.

"Wait, you know him?" the winged woman asks while she tries to rip the webbing.

"Yes, but then again, do I know you?" Peter asks her as he approaches again.

"We've met before, back when those strange monks went after Jo-Venn and N'Kalla, Ben Grimm's adopted children" the woman replies, leading Peter to finally realize who is she.

"Waitaminute… Sky!? Johnny's soulmate Sky?" Peter asks visibly surprised after the realization, coming to her help to get out of the webbing.

"Yes, I'm Sky" she replies "But I'm no longer Johnny Storm's soulmate" she adds that with an angry tone.

"Oh, right, yeah, I was told about that" Peter replies a bit nervously, remembering that he was told about Johnny's breakup "I'm sorry you had to deal with that but on a side note, you look radically different" he points out her new form, which looks more like a bird than a humanoid.

"It is because of the Soulbond" Sky points at her Soulbond attached to her arm "The Soulbonds allow you to literally feel whatever the other person does" she explains, to which Peter nods as he connects the dots.

"Of course, so whatever afflicted Johnny with his powers also caused you to mutate" Peter comments at the discovery.

"Valeria contacted me about it, but I was already on my way to their home to reclaim the Soulbond and… to ask the Richards family to send me home" she adds that point with a sad tone.

"Oh…" Peter manages to reply "And on your way here, that's when you saw me"

"Yes" Sky nods in response "But then I saw you were being followed by this creature" she looks at Lockheed "And I thought he was going to attack you" she explains, to which Peter laughs in response.

"Well, he doesn't like me but he won't attack me… I think" Peter replies to her comment while Lockheed growls at him "He's Lockheed, he's my girlfriend's companion, who by the way, she was looking forward to meet you, but I left him keeping an eye on the apartment while me and my girlfriend were away" he then looks at Lockheed "So why are you here Lock? Did something happen to Kitty?" he asks him, to which Lockheed howls and growls as he tries to communicate, prompting Peter to look at Sky "By any chance you know what he's saying?"

"I wish I could help you with that" Sky replies "If he were a bird-related species, I might have it easier, but his species are totally different to us Spyricans, thus I can't translate that" she explains to him why she cannot translate, since her powers are based on avian creatures.

"Well, maybe we can figure things out Back at Yancy" Peter replies as he prepares to swing again, but right then he notices a barrage of beams coming out at the distance "Wait, are those lights coming out from…?"

"Yes, that's the Richards Family's household" Sky replies to his question, taking off to head towards the location of 4 Yancy Street, prompting Peter to sigh and then look at Lockheed.

"We're helping them and then we'll figure out what's happening, OK?" Peter sternly talks to Lockheed "You go back to the apartment" he then shoots his web-line and jumps to swing and follow Sky, but Lockheed simply puffs a cloud of smoke and after a few seconds decides to follow him and help.

BACK AT 4 YANCY STREET

In spite of the best efforts brought by the combined might of the Future Foundation and the Fantastic Four, Wizard came prepared for them and provided Diablo of much needed pointers. He kept The Thing frozen in rock while Hyde managed to take down Reed Richards with a strong punch that knocked him out.

"What do they want?" Sue tries to stabilize a force field to prevent the Wizard from using the controls but he breaks her hold by firing a beam at her, breaking her concentration long enough to finally manage to open the gate.

"We can't let them activate the Gate!" Johnny exclaims, trying to burst hotter into flames but the temperature alarms begin to ring due to his unstable state. Just as he tries to fire at them, another alarm rings, revealing a breach from above, with vibrations and sound growing louder by the second as it approaches, breaking down a wall to reveal the sudden entrance of Sky "Sky?" he asks, surprised to see his now ex-girlfriend appear.

"I'll deal with you later Johnny" Sky angrily looks at him and then she screams at the Frightful Four, forcing Wizard to trip and set different coordinates to the Gate, which manages to activate and open.

"Johnny! The Gate!" Susan exclaims just as Reed begins to regain his consciousness and looks at the Gate.

"Oh no" Reed mutters as he tries to stretch and stop them, but a sudden burst of light comes out of the Gate and engulfs them, just as Spider-Man manages to reach the building, but right then the light flashes out and in just a matter of seconds, everything fades out again.

"WOOOOO! What was That!?" Peter exclaims as he enters the breach "Spider-Sense was going crazy" he mutters as he goes through the breach that Sky left and arrives just to discover what it looks like a ravaged room with the Future Foundation members being beaten down and both Fantastic and Frightful Fours nowhere to be seen "Oh my God… What happened here?"
