A blinding flash of light…and then……

... S I L E N C E ...

"W-Where am I?" He asked, but no one could answer him. It was a vast clearing of nothingness, emptiness. There was nothing except for himself.

"Hello! Is anyone there!" He yelled, hoping there was someone to aid him. His voice seemed to bounce off walls, walls that he can not see. 'Walls invisible to the naked eye?' He thought. 'If there were walls, then there must be a pathway.' Just as that train of thought entered his mind, he saw a hallway.

'What, what is this place?' A glimmer of something shiny caught his eye.

A mirror.

He glimpsed himself standing in the mirror. There was no blood or wound on his body. 'The blood…and the stab wounds…. Did it all disappear when I came here? I- I don't understand…where the hell am I!'

There was nothing in the pathway but the mirror…and soon…the mirror disappeared too.

"W-Wait a minute, I know where I am! This place… it's either heaven or hell. And as sure as hell I'm not in heaven. Then….this is hell. I bet the devil has brought me here to torment me," he cackled loudly. "Yes! Yes! That's it! He's trying to confuse me! He wants me to think I have been purified, purged of my sins! But then! THEN! He'll come to remind me, and he'll rejoice in my pain and suffering because….it'll be eternal and I'll be his puppet….he can do anything to me…." He mumbled madly, "I suppose I deserve it…I just…I just wish I could still see you…"

The mirror reappeared with a figure this time, but he did not notice.

"Stop that…" A quiet voice commanded.

'The voice…sounds so familiar,…but…but…it can't be.'

The hand seemed so real…it reached towards him.

"STOP! DON'T TOUCH ME!" He cried, "Y-YOU'RE NOT REAL! YOU'RE JUST THE DEVIL MESSING WITH ME!"

The boy in the mirror sighed.

"Do not worry. I am no devil and we are not at the place you think we are at," The boy smiled a genuine smile, "I am your guardian angel here, at least if you want me to be."

"R-Really…is that the truth?" He questioned.

"Yes, of course." The boy smiled again, but this time, his eyes also sparkled with joy.

"Then that means…if you're here, and I'm here, also….I'm not in hell, but I'm actually in….." His voice drifted off….

"Yes, you are right. Now, let us go," Innocence still shone on the boy's cheerful face.

The whiteness immediately disappeared and the boy and man were taken to a top of a hill, overlooking a town.

"This was where it all started," He whispered, "….I'm sorry, I really am….."

"I forgave you a long time ago……… Zabuza," The boy replied.

"Thank you….Haku."

And then… the man smiled a genuine smile.
