As I woke up, there was a stabbing pain in my head, causing me to scream. I jumped back when I felt a hand touch me.

"It's okay, dear. You're okay. You're in the hospital. What's wrong?" She said, sweetly. Tears filled my eyes.

"My head… It hurts so bad." I was basically pulling my hair out in an attempt to make the pain calm down. She left the room but quickly came back with a needle, causing my eyes to open wide.

"This won't hurt, it'll be going in your IV." She gestured to the tubing on the back of my hand. I froze and looked around, noticing that everything was an off shade of white, and the room smelt like cleaning supplies. I looked back at the woman and realized that she must have been a nurse.

"Wh-where am I?" I asked her, noticing the sun shining outside. This is not my home.

"You're in Konoha. The guards saw you passed out outside the gates. Can you tell me what you were doing out there?" I tried to think back but the pain in my head started to get worse. I shook my head slightly to tell her 'no'.

"Can you tell me your name, at least?" She raised the needle into the IV bag.

"Um… It's… It's Na'omi Obake." I whispered, feeling the relief of the medication calm me down as I drifted off to sleep.

"Like I told the Hokage, she hasn't woken up again." I heard a familiar, but stern, voice say.

"I know that but he told me to wait here until she does. If you heard the right name-" The woman scoffed. "That means she is one of the last two survivors… Not just of her clan but her village." I started to stir.

"Oh, sweetheart! How are you feeling?" The woman's voice turned sweet again as I was able to fully look at her. She had olive skin with light brown hair and brown eyes. I looked at the man, confused when I noticed his white hair sticking straight up, a mask covering most of his face, and his forehead protector covering one of his eyes, I stared at the leaf symbol, getting even more confused.

"Where am I?" I asked, forgetting that she already told me a few hours prior.

"You're in Konoha. Do you remember how you got here?" The man asked. I shook my head no. "Okay… What's the last thing you remember?" I tried thinking back, but it caused the sharp pain in my head to return.

"I… I only re-remember my bro-brother… Wait! Haru! Is he okay?" I sat up suddenly and looked at them, with wide eyes.

"What is the last thing you remember?" The man repeated, coming closer and using a softer tone.

"I… I remember blood… A lot of blood. My brother… And a pale man with yellow eyes…"

"That's the last thing you remember? Hm… Na'omi, that happened four years ago." My eyes widened even more, if possible.

"But my brother-"

"Was never found. He is said to be alive though… Now, I need to go speak with the Hokage, he's the man in charge here, and then I'll come back okay?" I nodded, tears still in my eyes. "Okay. Try and get some rest."

Kakashi's POV

As I walked up to the Hokage's office, I knocked on the large wooden doors. Opening them up and walking in when a voice behind them called out, "Come in."

"Oh, Kakashi, you're back. Did you find out anything?" The old man, Hiruzen Sarutobi, asked me as he took a puff from his pipe.

"Sir, she claims she doesn't remember anything from the last four years," I informed him.

"And you believe her?" I nodded.

"She doesn't seem to be lying. I think… I think it could be possible someone blocked her memories… She gets this sharp pain whenever she tries to think about what has happened." The old man stroked his chin in thought.

"Kakashi… I have a mission for you." I sweatdropped.

"You want me to babysit a kid?" I asked, blankly.

"Yes. I need you to watch her for a while and make sure that there is no chance of her faking this. From there, we will decide where to go."

"But Lord Thir-" I tried.

"No, Kakashi. I trust you are the most compatible for this mission. You will be paid for this. You are dismissed." I left without another word, knowing it was best not to argue with the old man. How am I supposed to watch a child? I asked myself, shaking my head at how absurd this all is.

OG POV

1 Month Later

"Hey, Kakashi?" I asked the man walking beside me. He nods to show that he's listening, despite still reading his book. "Who is that boy over there? And why does everyone say mean things about him?" I point over toward a boy in an orange jumpsuit and green goggles that was sitting on a swing.

"His name is Naruto Uzumaki. He's treated poorly because the villagers are scared of the past repeating itself." He explains, causing more questions than answers. I shook my head, knowing that he wouldn't give me a more in-depth explanation.

"Can I go play with him? Pwease?" I beg, clasping my hands in front of my chest. Kakashi looks up from his book for a moment and chuckles lightly.

"Not today. We have to go shopping." I start to pout. "Maybe tomorrow, okay?" He sighs as I cheer.

And that was the start of my new life that I remember. Living with Kakashi and staying with Naruto whenever Kakashi had missions and would be gone for more than a day. It wasn't perfect, but looking back on my past, it seemed perfect to me.
