Okay, before I begin, a few things. I was checking out Sector 5 to plan how it will go when I relearn that this sector was a short visit. There was no boss, except for a hint, and the only thing you had to do was unlock the security to get the upgrade.
Next, Non-nonhuman, I understand your review. Just to clear this up, most of the dust went to Ruby's weapon and the Speed Booster did affect her, but only in small amounts. The reason I use Flame Dust was because it was the best I could think of to match the Plasma Beam while also playing off of both RWBYpiece and LogBook ideas. Your idea for the Gravity Suit sounds like it could help, so I'll keep it in mind. And I already got something to fully replace the Ice Beam idea. Check my reviews and look for the reviewer Firem78910. He accidentally put it up twice and I'm unable to remove it. As for the Belt, I don't have a reason for how it appeared yet. You are also the second person to think that Ruby's Silver Eyes are the reason that the Grimm DNA doesn't attack her.
Okay, let's get Sector 5.
Winter sighs as she waited for Ruby to call her in Sector 5. The Sector where Dust studied in new ways. She also wasn't sure if they should keep Ruby in the dark anymore. From what Weiss told her, Ruby does have a knack for finding things, even by accident.
"Got any twos?"
"Go fish."
She turns to see Weiss and Blake playing another card game with Yang sitting over at the corner after her last cheat.
"That's not fair you two." She said, pouting.
"You can join when you take off your gauntlets," Weiss said.
Yang sighs. She cheats one time and they kick her out of every card game.
Winter sighs as she turns back to her computer. While it seem everything was going alright, she was starting to become really worried. Yes, Ruby is protected by the Grimm DNA inside her, but there was something that didn't make sense. She knew Grimm were dangerous and soulless monsters. She read long ago that a man tried to inject some Grimm blood into himself, and he die from it. And yet, Ruby had Grimm DNA inside her and she was fine, with a few side effects. So why was she alive when the man died?
"Winter? Are you okay?"
She turns to see Yang next to her, looking a bit worried.
"I'm fine." She said, looking at the computer.
"Winter, you're not fooling anyone. You worried about Ruby, ain't you?" Yang asked, seeing through it.
Winter sighs and nods. Yang sighs as well before leaning on the desk.
"I know I worried a lot about Ruby and almost losing her chance the way I need to keep an eye on her. However, I sometimes forget that Ruby appears much older than she is. I did my best rising her when both of our mothers left, but at the same time, I wanted Ruby to live her life. I will admit that I starting to be a little overprotective of her now, but I trust my sister will come back. She's going to get into trouble with me and Dad, but we'll be happy to see her alive." Yang said.
"I don't doubt Miss Rose will return alive, it's something else that bothering me," Winter said, making all three girls turn to her.
"Miss Rose was not the first person to be injected with Grimm DNA in her. A few years ago, a man was into Grimm so much he thought that Grimm were actually people free from their prisons. When General Ironwood found him and arrest him for illegal studies, he injected some Grimm Blood into him. From what I heard, the man died as the Blood attacked him from the inside out. The most strangest of all was that his soul was gone. All that was left was an empty husk. And now we have Miss Rose. The second person to have Grimm DNA inside her, and she lives through it. I can only guess why she live when the man did not." She said.
"Are you sure, Winter?" Weiss asked.
"I was still in training at the time, but I did hear it from the elite members," Winter said.
The rest of Team (R)WBY was surprised to hear that. A man tried to use Grimm DNA and he died from it. Ruby had Grimm DNA and she lives. How was that possible?
"Um, what will happen if your dad finds out about Ruby?" Yang asked, surprising both Schnee sisters.
"What?!" Weiss asked.
"I think I get what Yang means. Weiss told us about your father. While Ironwood can't use Ruby thanks to Ozpin, your father might have better control." Blake said.
Both sisters looked at each other. If their father would find out about Ruby then there will be unwanted trouble. Both sisters knew how much he hated Fannus and thanks to Ruby's Grimm DNA, he will treat her the same way.
"Wait! If father finds out that Ruby has Grimm DNA inside her..." Weiss started.
"Then she'll never be at peace with herself! She'll be treated like a Grimm!" Winter finished.
"That was weird," Yang whispers.
Blake rolled her eyes. Still, she could understand why they think that. Even when she was stealing from the Weiss family company, she knew the man in charge was not only Fannus hating man but a power-hungry one as well. She hopes to never meet their father.
Suddenly, the computer beeps, snapping everyone back to the present. Ruby was calling and it was time to give her her next mission.
The three back away as Winter answers the call.
Sector 5,
Ruby enters the navigation room before stopping. During the trip through the elevators, she thought back to her last fights. It was so strange. One minute she was fighting them off and the next, she was in an empty room. She knew that the Death Parasites were getting stronger and they have knocked her out a few times. The strangest thing was whenever she started to blackout, she could hear a howl of a Beowolf before some strange power took over.
"Maybe I should tell Winter? But, I don't remember anything that happened to me when I blackout. And there my Parasite out there, hunting me. Maybe, I should call it quits and head home?" Ruby said to herself.
"NO! A huntress doesn't run and I'm not running! I'll stop the Parasites! I can't let them get into the city!" She said, shaking her head.
She turns to the computer and contacts Beacon.
"Miss Rose, I see you made it to Sector 5. The Good News is the Parasites haven't invaded this Sector yet. And your Ice Packets are ready. However, they are locked behind a Level 3 lock. Find the lock then head for Data Room." Winter said.
"Got it!" Ruby said before thinking of something.
"Hey, Winter? How do you download those things to me? I've been wondering about that since I got this belt." She asked.
"You know, I've been wondering the same thing." Blake's voice spoke up.
"The scientists have a way of turning things into Data for it to be downloaded to other locations. I'm still a bit lost on how that works, but that's what I heard so far." She said.
"Are you the General's right-hand woman?" Yang asked.
Winter was quiet, but Ruby could feel Winter glaring at Yang.
"Anyways, find the lock and get your upgrade. Then return here for your update." Winter said.
"Got it!" Ruby said.
The connection turns off and Ruby sighs to herself.
"Maybe I'll tell them another time. I have a mission to complete." She said before running out of the navigation room.
However, she had forgotten that the Security Room wasn't shown on the map, and she had to find it on her own. That meant searching the whole sector!
"Stupid protocols." Ruby groans.
She then started looking in each room, which was easier since there were barely any parasites trying to stop her. Ruby then enters another room and noticed some dust flying away from her. Ruby blinks and saw the whole room was covered in dust.
"Whoa! What happened here?" Ruby asked.
She kneels to the ground and notices that dust was crushed into power. Wondering if she really had the weakest to Dust, Ruby pulled off her glove and touch it.
"AHHH!" Ruby screams, pulling her hand away.
She backs away a bit as she held her hand. It felt like her hand was on fire. Was this what Grimms feel when they use dust on them?
"Augh, that strings." She said, shaking her hand before putting her glove back on.
Ruby knew Dust was powerful, and it had helped people in the fights with the Grimms. It's possible after using them for so long, Grimms have picked up and passed on some of the pain to the rest of their kin. And since Ruby had their DNA with them, she too had the same weakness.
"Great, guess it's a good thing this new feature keeps me safe. Through, what did they put it in Weiss's colors?" Ruby said before asking.
She decided to move on, finding more rooms with Dust in them before entering a huge room with windows covering the walls.
"What this?" Ruby asked, confused.
Ruby wasn't sure but she could have sworn something was watching her, and it wasn't the same feeling she felt earlier in the Factily. She was able to find herself in the lower area and found the Security room.
"Finally! Now to open it and get that upgrade!" She said, starting to reach for the lock.
"Oh, wait. I'll also let in the parasites too." Ruby groans.
She remember what happen last time, and she didn't want to go through that again.
"Okay, open the lock and make a beeline to the Data Room. I'm not going to have another Death Parasite steal my upgrade under my nose again!" She said.
Ruby open the lock and quickly ran back to the upper levels. She pulled herself up and saw the parasites take the forms of the smaller creatures she had fought in the past sectors. However, they were a bit stronger. She was lucky that her new Dust Suit prevent some of the damage she got from them when they attacked her. It didn't take her long to reach the Data Room and there was no parasite insight.
"Oh, thank Oum! I so do not want to go through that again!" Ruby said before placing her gauntlet in.
"Still need to name this," Ruby said to herself as her suit gave her an update.
"Ice Dust added to Gauntlet. Use to freeze enemies."
"Huh, that was easy. A little too easy." Ruby said, seeing that her new gauntlet gain a light blue taint on it.
Ruby turns around and started to head back to the Navigation Room. When she enters the Glass Room, as she started calling it, something flew past, shaking the whole room.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!" Ruby screams, hoping the glass wouldn't break.
She decides not to stick around and rushes back to the Navigation Room. Some of the Parasites tried to get in her way, but Ruby dealt with them and soon reach the Navigation Room.
"Finally! Now, to fill my report and..." She said, stepping into the room.
"WARNING! WARNING! "Emergency in Sector 3! Emergency in Sector 3!"
"OH FOR THE LOVE OF OUM!" Ruby shouted.
And here you go, everyone. I know you all have been waiting for this and I was able to get it down. Now, I was planning on covering Sector 3 as well but it seems I cover a bit with Winter and the rest of Team RWBY, like explaining that Ruby isn't the first person to have Grimm DNA in her and playing off the idea that everything thinks Ruby's Silver Eyes are what keeping her safe from the DNA Attacking her. And since I can't think of any better, I'm going with that. So thank you, everyone!
But things just got worse. There's trouble in Sector 3 and Ruby has to stop it. For those that are new to this story, I'm switching between Ruby and Winter because I want to show the other thoughts on Ruby's mission and how they feel about it. And while I am being on the volumes, I did watch a few other others so I could get a better idea on some of the other characters, like Weiss's and Winter's father. It's one thing to read about the characters and then watch them in the show. If you are wondering about Team JNPR, they still don't know about Ruby's mission but I'll try to be them in before the story is done.
