Hermione's Death
It's been a while.
Yes, a long time since I've sought the comfort of your depths.
Black water, unmoving, still, heavy with the desire that slowly has consumed me
Leaving only the despair, behind my blank eyes, I stare, I stare at the reflections
Unperfect reflections of perfect stars, dim reproductions of what they once were…
Ironic.
I loved you then, when I would laugh around your crystal smoothness,
Paired with friends who now are gone,
Free of troubles that now burden my shoulders.
I loved your coolness, I loved your life,
And now, I can't help but admire how you die at night, just like me.
Just like I died inside.
Great Lake, I shed my last tear at your side, faithful companion of bygone days
Will you be my passage?
I lower myself into your waters, an unmoving breeze swirling my hair,
I feel the water close over me, like a cocoon…
Drowning my sorrow and my pain,
The stars laugh with mocking smiles,
As I look up one last time.
I hope you'll be there on the other side
Great Lake of Hogwarts, place of laughter, place of love,
Place of friendship, and now death.
