My Mixed Tape for Her

Chapter 1: This is Morning

"MOM!"

"Stop screaming. I'm in the kitchen."

"HAVE YOU SEEN MY DIGITAL CAMERA?"

"I already told you once. Stop YELLING!"

With that Ruthie Camden came bounding down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Now, what was that sweetie?" Annie Camden asked her youngest daughter.

"I need my camera, I'm doing a test run for the position of photographer at the school newspaper and I can't find my new digital camera." Ruthie explained.

"I think you left it in the car from when we went to the pool hall."

"Thanks mom, can I have the keys please?"

"There just over there." Annie responded pointing to the kitchen counter.

Ruthie quickly grabbed the keys and rushed out the door. Upon finding her camera Ruthie packed up and left for school.

Ruthie followed the editor of the "Student Voice" around the news room listening to instructions.

"So your first job will be to take pictures at the upcoming dance. Since it's the homecoming dance there will be a Queen and King so be sure to get a few shots of them on the stage. Can you handle that?"

"Sure, no problem"

"Great now you'll be attending the dance along with our events reporter. You'll have to get together ahead of time to discus what kind of photographs he would like to go with his article. He's not in right now but if you come at lunch I will introduce the two of you."

"Great, see you then."

Ruthie was eager to meet her partner and therefore she sprinted to the newsroom at the first sound of the lunch bell.

Upon seeing Ruthie the editor, Amy walked straight over to her.

"Hello Ruthie. I'm glad to see that you are punctual. Now let's get down to business. Follow me."

Ruthy followed enthusiastically, ready to meet the events reporter.

"Ruthie Camden, this is Sean Mackenzie."

Ruthie's mouth dropped. "Mac?"

"I hope you have a dress!" He said winking at her.
