Eternal City Crystal Tokyo

Chapter 79

"Greetings, Queen Serenity," the nearly seven foot tall skeleton in mage robes bowed slightly.

"Emperor Ainz Ooal Gown," Serenity nodded her head, "it's good to see you again."

It was hard to judge based on a skull, but Ainz seemed cheerful. "I always enjoy visiting Crystal Tokyo," he noted, "beautiful place."

"How are things in Nazarick and the Sorcerer Kingdom?" Serenity asked pleasantly.

"Going well," Ainz said then added, "we have adventurers being isekai'd in occassionally, which causes issues, but we handle it."

"If you need assistance relocating heroes and such, let me know," Serenity replied.

"Your assistance is always appreciated." Ainz said warmly.

Erica Tenoh was standing off to one side, and fought back a shiver. Ainz was a max leveled Overlord Lich, and an immensely powerful sorcerer, but he was also nearly totally evil. Yet somehow he had also united his world mostly peacefully...

"Hey," Ran Mizuno smiled as she walked up. She continued, "Rei-Momma had to ask to skip Court today."

"Oh?" Erica asked.

"She's a former Shrine Maiden, remember?" Ran smiled wryly. "Just being around Emperor Ainz makes her hugely uncomfortable."

"Ouch," Erica winced.

"I was out in the Khanite when we first made contact with Nazarick," Ran mused aloud, "how did that all play out?"

"Well, apparently Ainz gained the ability to cross universes from an alternate universe Venus," Erica noted.

"The one the Plutos chased for awhile," Ran nodded.

"Yup. He had only cautiously travelled between worlds, until one of his allies got very ill. His universe's experts couldn't help, so he then began looking for a universe with powerful healers...," Erica shrugged.

"And he ended up here. Serenity helped them?" Ran asked.

"Exactly," Erica agreed.

"Who was it who was ill?" Ran wondered.

"Lady Albedo. She had gone completely yandere, and threatened to kill anyone who came near Ainz," Erica told her soberly.

Ran's eyes widened, "Damn..."

Lady Venus had to admit, Ainz gave her the willies.

"I can't decide if I'm impressed or really disturbed," Signum noted.

Signum of the Time Space Administration Bureau was visiting Crystal Tokyo from her home dimension. The TSAB kept in regular contact, due to political and other reasons. She was also an long time acquaintance of Venus, though not exactly a friend.

"Bit of both?" Venus said as they left the Great Hall of the Palace. "Alucard?" she called out.

The immortal vampire emerged from a shadowy corner, "Madam."

"Laevatein!" Signum activated her device, flaming sword appearing in her hand.

"Come on, then," Alucard purred before Venus clouted him. "Ow!" she yelped.

"I told you to stand by, not pop up like that," Venus scolded. She looked at Signum, "Please don't gut her."

"I thought Alucard was male," Signum noted, sheathing her sword.

"I can shape change," Alucard shrugged, the shorter woman looking amused.

"Alucard, did you get the information?" Venus sighed, once again aggravated by her minion.

"Of course," Alucard took a data chip and passed it over.

"This is..?" Signum asked.

"Lost Logia smugglers, from our part of the multiverse," Venus admitted. "They've been using our asteroid belt as a safe haven."

"Our Lovely Angels managed to track them down," Alucard added. "AND with minimal property damage."

"Good work. Now go bother Motoko," Venus ordered, and Alucard disappeared again.

"Thank you for the information," Signum smiled, "can the TSAB get your assistance in arresting them?"

"We could probably do it ourselves," Venus noted.

"Our runs ins showed they're mages," Signum pointed out, "having TSAB people along is a better idea."

"Point," Venus nodded, "we'll set it up."

"Yo! Linna!" Priss Asagiri waved from a table at Arisugawa's Locket. She had a pitcher of beer waiting, and poured Linna one.

Linna Yamazaki and her wife Belldandy walked over, the two looking as sweet and loving as ever. "Priss, congratulations on the promotion," Linna smiled.

"Ehh," Priss waved that off. She was functionally now in total command of all Earth hardsuit corps.

"You should be proud," Belldandy added.

"I keep telling her that," Urd said, grinning at her wife Priss. She looked at Linna, "Last I checked, you're in Treasury, working under Miki Kaoru?"

"I am," Linna conceded, "we may be cashless, but we have to work with the rest of the galactic powers and vice versa."

"Isn't Sylia supposed to be coming with Mara?" Priss wondered aloud.

"Don't mention Mara when Sylia comes," Linna sighed, "they're separated."

"WHAT," Priss and Urd both blurted.

"Shh." Linna hushed them.

"Fuck," Priss blinked.

"It's apparently a mutual thing," Linna said, then added, "but everybody says that when there's a breakup."

"Mara wouldn't lie about that," Urd observed, but she looked annoyed.

Before anything else could be said, Sylia emerged from the crowd and stalked over to their table. She smiled wryly, "I assume Linna told you?"

Everyone looked faintly guilty.

"It's fine, I was expecting her to," Sylia continued. She looked at the beer in disdain, then waved down a waitress, "Gin and tonic."

"Yes, Sylia-sama," Excel beamed.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Belldandy offered compassionately.

"No," Sylia said flatly. "Oh, we have someone else coming," she added.

"Huh?" Linna blinked.

"Hello everyone," Nene Romanova smiled, looking just like she did back in the 2040s.

"I though you were a digital consciousness...?" Priss asked, confused.

"This is an android replica," Nene explained, "Sylia finally talked me into it."

Not far from where the Knight Sabers were sitting, Kei and Yuri were also relaxing, with friends.

"I'm surprised they let you in, Alucard," Kei noted, the redhead drinking her beer.

"I AM female in this form," the vampire noted.

Yuri's black hair flowed down her back as she leaned forward and asked, "Was Venus happy with the data?"

"Yes. Looks like we'll be helping the TSAB catch them, too," Alucard noted.

"Oh hell, back to the Asteroids again," Kei griped.

"Is it that unpleasant?" Alucard asked.

"The mining colonies are pretty rough," Yuri sighed, "and we pretty much have to live out of our ship."

"On the other hand, you get a lot of alone time together," Alucard teased.

Both women blushed. "Shaddup," Kei growled at him.

Alucard just laughed. "Here," she passed over an envelope, "presents from Lady Venus, for your leave this week. Enjoy,"

Yuri swiftly opened it, seeing tickets to several exclusive shows, along with paid dinners and such. "Thanks!" she beamed.

"Enjoy," Alucard waved and left.

To be continued...

Characters new this chapter: Ainz Ooal Gown is from Overlord, Signum is from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and the casts of Bubblegum Crisis and Oh My Goddess.

Notes: FINALLY worked Overlord into this. Been meaning to for awhile. In Overlord canon Ainz edits Albedo's personality, making her madly in love with him. I always wondered if it might blow up in his face, eventually.

At some point I need to have a character address the morality of Crystal Tokyo having diplomatic ties with Overlord.
