Chapter 13: One too many fakes
"I want you to explain to me how a restoration of a leyline somehow leads to a Class card, my class card, manifesting itself in a copy of Illya's body." Archer scowled and held up a single finger when Rin went to reply "And then explain to me why you simply allowed her to get away."
Rin fidgeted on the spot for a few moments "Well...what did you want us to do? Beat her up?"
"Yes."
"Archer!" Irisviel slapped the servants arm, glaring disapprovingly at him "Do not encourage people to beat up young maidens."
"She's not a 'young maiden'" Archer replied, his frown deepening "She's a magical experiment using my card to manifest herself. She represents a clear and present danger and needs to be dealt with accordingly."
"Archer-!"
"Do you not find it strange that the first thing this duplicate did upon manifesting was not to stick around and greet you, but to flee?" Archer raised an eyebrow "She didn't wish to be around any of you...or at the very least didn't wish to be around her." he pointed at Illya who blinked.
He turned back to Rin "I assume Edelfelt and Miyu were present for this occurrence?"
"Y-yes." Rin blinked in surprise at being addressed before crossing her arms and putting on a thoughtful face "They were there at the time."
"Good. It means she knows what to look for." He turned to Illya "I am going out looking for this duplicate, you are not to leave the house until I return. Ensure that Ruby is with you at all times until this is resolved." he went back to Rin "You manage Fuyuki as second Owner, do you not?"
"Yes. My father is away in London for the time being." Archer nodded his head.
"Then utilise your authority. Have yourself and Edelfelt set up bounded fields around the other Leylines. This copy will likely be expending magical energy just by existing, unless she can turn into Spirit form...which fortunately for us I doubt she can do."
"And you're going to look for her?"
"I am." Archer's red shroud and black armour manifested itself on his person "This duplicate likely possesses my abilities, although they shall be far weaker than what I am capable of. Therefore, I am the most suited to deal with her."
"D-deal with her?" Illya asked, slightly nervous as Archer's cold eyes turned to her.
"Yes." Was the single answer she received from him. Irisviel narrowed her eyes at Archer.
"And just what do you mean 'Deal with her'?" She asked, Archer very pointedly did not answer her.
"I shall begin my search immediately." He stated as he faded into Spirit form "If she attempts to resurface, signal for me."
He disappeared completely. Irisviel remained staring at the spot where he had been for a few moments before turning to Illya and Rin.
"We're finding her first." She declared, the pair of girls in front of her recoiled in surprise as the seriousness of her voice.
"E-eh?" Illya gaped "But Archer-?"
"Is going to do something very bad if he finds her." Irisviel replied then sighed "Honestly...he really does have Kiri's tells."
"What?" Rin looked between the two of them "Am I missing something here?"
"No, no." Irisviel waved her off, walked past them "Come on Illya-chan~! We're going sibling hunting!" she sang as she flung open the front door and marched out. Illya and Rin looked at eachother in surprise, then Illya looked down at Ruby.
"What do you think?" She asked the kaleidostick, the wings of the stick emulated a shrug as best they could.
"Archer has got a point...every class card we encountered was violent...whose to say this isn't an Illya whose evil?" Then giggled "But it is an old magical girl cliché! Fighting the evil demon lord who happens to be a lost long relative! How exciting Illya!"
"Shut up!" Rin snapped "This is serious! Contact Sapphire and let her know what's happening." she brought her hand up to her mouth and bit her thumb "As bad as that witch it, Archer is right...I can't cover all of Fuyuki in bounded fields that quickly...and we'll need Miyu's assistance if the clone is located."
"R-right." Illya nodded, then sighed this was certainly a weird day for her.
Archer scowled as he overlooked Fuyuki city. He'd gotten too lax in his judgement, allowed himself to underestimate the capacity for the simple things in Magecraft to breed the biggest disasters. Admittedly he himself should have confiscated the class cards the moment they were all collected.
They were the powers of a Heroic Spirit, not trading cards for Rin and Luvia to one up eachother with.
He sighed, he'd do that when this mess was sorted out.
However, there was a reason he was somewhat panicked about this situation. The class card itself had manifested and could probably use a degraded version of his skills.
At least...he would have assumed them to be degraded.
That fight when Illya had used the class card against Saber...it troubled him.
Illya traced Excalibur.
It wasn't as powerful as if it were the proper servant...but it was more powerful than the Class card version.
Archer could have used Excalibur as well.
If he had been in his reality marble…
And even then it probably would have killed him to use.
Even if it didn't it would burn through enough of his magical energy that it would leave him virtually useless for a period of time. The fact that Illya had traced divine construct from the class cards memory and used it without dying…
That made this duplicate a threat he could not overlook.
More than that, the others seemed to forget what she was.
She was a mistake, an existence which should not be. A mixture of himself and his master, parading around with Illya's face and Archers abilities. He had no way of knowing if it was Illya's fear in itself which caused the duplicate to run away, or Archer's pragmatism that it would be best to pick and choose her battles.
The others would hesitate to fight her with their full force. He knew that. The card probably knew that as well.
If she really had Archer's skills and experience in a limited capacity, then this was an opponent which could not be underestimated.
He frowned in thought as he went over the duplicates options. It likely required magical energy to exist. He couldn't generate his own, so he doubted that the copy could either.
Forcing a Master servant contract? Possibly, although finding another person capable of using magic circuits in this city was next to impossible. The mages that could support a Servant were already aware of her existence and prepared for it.
Taking magical energy directly from humans? A more likely option. In which case, how would she do it? Blood...he assumed and would admit to hoping as well.
The other options...he didn't really want to humour at all, although he tucked those away in the back of his mind as a 'possibly but hopefully not'.
Consuming souls? Far too risky and too open. A spate of murders in Fuyuki would turn heads and attract the attention of the mages association, given the deployment of Rin and Luvia to the area under orders of Zelretch. Which would also likely attract the Holy Church.
Executors were not something that he needed in the city.
For the time being, he assumed blood. Availability? Homeless people. They'd likely wait until night time. Thus Archer would have to stalk around the less well off areas of Fuyuki. The girl likely couldn't hide her presence.
He shifted back into spirit form before leaping between rooftops. A being of that nature would be leaking mana just be existing, Archer would notice her...but then again, she'd probably notice him to.
Either way, they'd find eachother.
"Where did you learn how to drive!?" Rin exclaimed in a panic as Irisviel practically drifted through traffic, laughing the whole time.
"Kiri taught me, this is probably one of the best things he bought me!" She grinned, Rin looked behind her seat to Illya in the back, who had a dead look in her eye which all but signified that she was used to this level of madness.
Rin turned back her eyes back to the front and went wide when Irisiviel drove off the road and into a forest "What the heck are you doing!?"
"We're visiting a workshop." Irisviel chirped "There's an old Einzbern castle out here, it was used whenever the family would visit Fuyuki in the past...and it happens to have a map most of the cities leylines."
"W-wait, what!?" Rin exclaimed in shock "B-but that's my job!"
"Well...this was used centuries ago when the Einzberns, Makiri's and the Tohsaka's were the three major families in the city."
"They were!?"
"Yes." Irisviel nodded, then looked over at Rin in a confused manner "You didn't know that?"
"No!" Rin threw up her hands "Why would I-"
"Eyes on the road!" Ruby shouted, Irisviel blinked then looked ahead of the car to see themselves barreling towards a tree.
"Whoah!" Rin let out a panicked shriek and threw up her hands while Irisviel merely giggled and spun the wheel, hitting the breaks and shifting the car into park. The vehicle slide to a halt just in front of the density of the forest.
"I suppose we'll have to walk the rest of the way." Irisviel sighed "I suppose we're up to a grand adventure!"
"Shouldn't we have told papa and Shirou where we were going?" Illya asked, Irisviel waved her off.
"Its a mother daughter outing!"
Rin blinked in confusion "I'm not your daughter though." Irisviel gave her a mischievous smile as she unbuckled her own seatbelt and opened the door.
"Not yet!~" She sang as she leapt from the car "Lets go Illya-chan!"
"Old man." Shirou asked, looking around the empty house "You know where Illya and Irisviel have gone off to?"
"Shirou." Kiritsugu sighed "Normally when your mother runs off by herself, I find it best to simply let her do whatever she wants to do." he placed a box in front of his son and opened it up.
Shirou blinked as he stared at the submachine gun in front of him.
"Can you use structural analysis on this?"
"Huh?" The auburn haired teen blinked in surprise then looked between Kiritsugu and the gun "Well...maybe…" he closed his eyes and placed a hand on the gun "Trace on." the pattern shot across his arm and over the weapon.
"Calico M950, weight: 2.25Ib, designer: Calico Light Weapons Systems, Manufacturer: Calico Light Weapons Systems, Calibre: 9mm, User: Emiya Kiritsugu, used to kill several sealing designation targets: Nigel Saward, Gilroy Joran, Sigimund-"
"Enough." Kiritsugu interrupted him, face set in a frown "I was curious if you could read the history of more than swords...seems that I was correct."
"Y-you…" Shirou virtually recoiled his hand from the gun as he stared at Kiritsugu, wide eyed shock clear on his face "You killed them…" he whispered out.
"Yes." Kiritsugu nodded "I've killed more than them as well."
"Why?"
Kiritsugu sighed "A sealing designation...is only afforded to those who make a significant breakthrough in the magus community and create a craft which cannot be created through study…" he sighed "More often than not…Sealing Designates are...less than savoury individuals." he looked down at the gun "Nigel Saward had acquired his designation by attempting to control human emotions...hypnosis is not uncommon, but what he wanted was to influence a persons mind on a whim. Make them so angry as to kill a loved one or fall in love with a stranger...the man couldn't even understand human emotions."
Shirou bit his lip and looked away "Was...was there no other way?" he whispered out, Kiritsugu stared at him for a few moments before he replied.
"No...Magi aren't as good as Irisviel...even the Tohsaka and Edelfelt heirs would likely resort to methods you would not approve of."
Shirou frowned in frustration before sighing "I...I'm sure you had your reasons...but...I just...I can't see myself…"
"Killing anyone?" Kiritsugu guessed, then shook his head "I have only myself to blame for that...both Myself and Irisviel determined ourselves to keep you out of the Moonlit world...for all the good its done." he pinched the bridge of his nose "But...that isn't a mindset your going to be able to keep if you become involved...that kindness will only get you or someone you care about killed."
"So...what?" Shirou shrugged "Be like Archer?"
"God, No!" Kiritsugu snapped at him "Archer is...Archer is what you should hope to avoid...fighting to protect something you care about...something close to you...not…" he shook his head "No that...I'd never wish that for you…"
"Old man…" Shirou began, Kiritsugu looked up at him and cleared his throat.
"Do you understand the schematics of the gun?" He asked, Shirou blinked at the abrupt change in conversation before furrowing his brows and nodding.
"I...I think so?" He guessed, Kiritsugu stared at him then shrugged.
"Well. You are the one who's going to be reassembling the gun, not me."
"Wait, what?"
"You heard correctly." Kiritsugu nodded and gestured to the weapon on the table "You are going to disassemble this gun and then reassemble it."
"H-how many times?"
Kiritsugu stared at him "As many times as are needed until you can do it by memory alone."
"Wh-"
"Better get started. If you can't get this finished by dinner, I'm afraid that either Archer or Sella will claim the kitchen." Kiritsugu almost smiled at how quickly Shirou dived into disassembling the gun.
"I'll be back to check on your progress soon." Kiritsugu said as he left Shirou alone with the gun, he walked through to the living room to see Leysritt lounging on the sofa with a bag of crisps and Sella cleaning the tables.
"Of the two of you, which would you say is the better martial artist?" Kiritsugu asked the pair, Sella looked up at him in confusion and Leysritt titled her head slightly and let out a question groan.
"For what purpose, Kiritsugu?" Sella asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Shirou." He elaborated "He'll need training in more than firearms...and I'm probably not as good at it as you two."
Sella and Leysritt looked at eachother before Sella looked back at Kiritsugu and nodded once "Likely myself, Leysritt would...but she seems to enjoy the sofa more!" she snapped at the lounging homunculus.
Leysritt looked her in the eye as she slowly popped a crisp into her mouth and loudly crunched it before turning her attention back to the TV. Sella just made a noise of frustration before Kiritsugu interrupted her.
"In that case, I'll leave Shirou's hand to hand combat to you." Kiritsugu said, Sella looked back at him and developed what could only be described as a dangerous gleam in her eyes.
"Of course, Sir." She gave a small smile "I shall ensure that the young master is fully capable of defending himself, I shall continue to train him even if it kills him."
"Sella." Leysritt spoke up "That's the wrong saying."
"I know what I said."
"What is that oaf doing?" Luvia scowled as she bit her thumb "Telling me to set up Leylines then absconding with Sherou's mother like that. That tasteless wench!"
"Luvia-san." Miyu sighed "We're supposed to be setting up bounded fields at the moment." Luvia seemingly ignored her in favour of continuing to rant about Rin and her brother...well...her parallel universe brother, although at this point it would be her second parallel universe brother although Archer was a little snarky...now that she thought about it he was a little bit closer in personality to her own brother.
Although Archer hid his kind nature behind his witty comments. It didn't matter too much though, she could see in his eyes that he had genuine care for Illya...which made her a little jealous…
"Honestly, you agree with me don't you Miyu!?" Luvia rounded on her, Miyu blinked in surprise at being directly addressed.
"Yes, Luvia-san." She simply agreed and nodded her head, knowing it was better to let her get it out of her system first.
"More importantly, Luvia-san." Sapphire spoke up "I thought our plan of action was to try and avoid the Archer Card?"
"Hmph." Luvia grunted "We are not directly chasing the card, we are following that apes instructions and setting up several bounded fields while also checking area's near leylines. She won't have returned to Ryuudou temple, so she will have headed elsewhere."
"I feel as though you are putting Miyu-sama in far too much danger." Sapphire chastised "We are already aware of Archer-san's capabilities as far as a Servant go, and his class card was able to single handedly defeat the Saber card."
"I am aware." Luvia responded with a frown "However, if we encounter the Servant, we shall simply act to delay her while you alert Illyasviel, and in turn she will alert Archer. A simple plan."
"I mean...there are several issues with that."
"Please." Luvia scoffed "You underestimate my abilities Miyu."
"I...didn't say that…" The pair looked down at Sapphire.
"I'm afraid I did not speak either." The pair then looked at eachother, then slowly their eyes travelled up and into the trees.
Luvia and Miyu blinked as the tanned form of Illya's duplicate in the Archer attire stared down at them with a smirk "You guys aren't very good at searching, are you? You're not supposed to make any noise when you're tracking someone."
"Miyu, transform yourself!" Luvia shouted out immediately and threw a gem at the duplicate. The girl's care free expression never left her face as she jumped into the air as the gem detonated and destroyed the top half of the tree.
"Sapphire!" Miyu called out, the stick bursting into life. The magical girl attire quickly forming itself around the girl as she jumped into the air, landing on a dense mana square.
"Huh." The duplicate smirk got wider as it stared between Luvia and Miyu "Guess I really shouldn't have opened my big mouth…" she shrugged "But...the opportunity was there." she spread her arms wide, Kanshou and Bakuya flashing into life "I suppose I am a little low on magical energy right now…" she narrowed her eyes at the pair "I'll need it later…"
"You won't be getting anything, class card." Luvia narrowed her eyes, "Sapphire, alert Illyasviel."
"Of course, Luvia-san." the Kaleidostick replied.
"How come you're living in some small house in an urban neighbourhood instead of this place?" Rin asked as she gestured to the halls "I can think of half a dozen families who'd probably kill someone to have a home with a workshop like this!"
"Well…" Irisviel shrugged "Myself and Kiritsugu are technically retired from the moonlit world...or at least we are suppose to be." she shifted through the old maps "Also I never really liked the carpet."
"...What?"
"Its kind of...bland." She gestured to the beige carpet in the room with a frown "It doesn't really speak to me...so me and Kiri decided to get a new house."
"You...you got a new house…because you didn't like the carpet…" Rin stared blankly at her, Irisviel only responded with a wide smile and a deep nod.
"Its...a bit too big…" Illya said as she looked around the room "I feel like I'd get lonely here…"
"Well...that factored into it too." Irisviel agreed "We just...didn't really see the need to live in this house."
"Wha-but…" Rin sighed and buried her face in her hands, muttering several curses.
"Oya?" Ruby suddenly spoke up "Seems like Sapphire-chan is calling me."
"Should you answer it?" Illya asked, Ruby's wings shrugged themselves.
"She doesn't really call me all that much, so I may as well." Her star symbol shifted into something akin to a radio "Hello! Sapphire-cha-"
"Get that cow Tohsaka on the radio!" Was Luvia's rather strained shout through the screen "We found the Archer card!"
Both Rin and Irisviel blinked and immediately rushed over to Illya "What did you say?" Irisviel asked in a hurry.
"The Archer card, its here. She's fighting myself and Miyu right-!" She was cut off by the sound of metal striking metal followed by an explosion.
The group looked around in a slightly tense manner before turning back to the Kaleidostick "We're in a forest, just south of Ryuudou temple! Illyasviel! Get Arc-mhpgh!" she was cut off and the call promptly went dead.
"So...we're goi-"
"Follow me!" Irisviel immediate ran out of the room "They're probably north of us and they won't be able to hide the amount of damage they're doing forever." she scowled as she sprinted through the hallways, Rin and Illya behind her "It won't be long before Archer finds her, Illya-chan! Go on ahead, we'll catch up to you!"
"How will you find me?" She asked, Rin thrust a gem into her hands.
"I'll be able to track you with that, get going!" She shouted at her and followed Irisviel outside.
Illya stared at the green gem in her hands before pocketing it "Ruby!"
"Compact: Full open!" The Kaleidostick chirped with a giggle.
Archer snapped his head to the side.
He narrowed his eyes as he looked to the west of the city, towards the forest and in the direction of Ryuudou. It was faint, he had not doubt that if he wasn't a servant he wouldn't be able to hear it. The sounds were unmistakable though.
An explosion.
He scowled, 'I ask them to stay put and they immediately ignore me and run off to find her.' he chastised himself 'I really should have seen this coming, troublesome woman that she is.' be berated himself as he jumped through the air and sped off in the direction of the conflict.
The tree's were blocking his line of sight, but he'd find them soon enough.
He just needed to check something.
"Master, where are you right now?" He sent out a mental link, he waited a few moments before he eventually got a reply from a rather nervous sounding Illya.
"Umm...I'm at home right now! Hahaha…" She gave a strained chuckled "Doing exactly what you told me to do!"
"I see." Archer replied back "That's good. I'd be very concerned if you weren't where I told you to be."
"R-right...that makes sense...haha…"
"And if you weren't where I asked you to be...I'd also be very disappointed in you...which would unfortunately mean you'd have to make up for it with extra class work."
"Of course, of course...wait what!?" Archer inwardly chuckled as he cut off the link, yes he was worried about his master.
At the same time, she had Miyu and Irisviel with her, she'd at least be safe until he got there...he hoped anyway.
Miyu's mouth fell open in shock as the duplicate dropped a limp Luvia to the ground. The tanned copy of Illya used her thumb to wipe her mouth clean before flashing Miyu a smirk.
"Well...that was easier than I thought." She hummed for second "Not bad too...very nice mana…"
"Y-you…" Miyu looked between the pair, a blush forming on her cheeks while Sapphire remained tellingly silent.
"What?" The girl gave an innocent smile and tilted her head as if she hadn't done anything wrong moments ago.
Which, in Miyu's opinion, she had. She had done something very outrageous.
"Ah." She snapped her fingers and pointed at Miyu wide a wide grin "Don't tell me...you're jealous, right?"
"W-what!?" Miyu recoiled in shock, her surprise turned to alarm when the duplicate sprinted towards her at impressive speeds. Miyu instantly took to the air and flicked Sapphire at her, releasing a scattered blast of mana energy which bombarded the area around the duplicate.
"You should be more careful where you aim!" Miyu's eyes darted left, Sapphire was flicked outwards to form a shield which blocked several arrows aimed at her "What if you'd hit poor defenceless Luvia?"
"You're the reason she's defenceless!" Miyu shouted back, jumping between plates and continually firing off bursts of mana at the duplicate. The tanned girl had a lazy smile on her face as she either avoided the blasts entirely, or simply batted them away with her projected swords.
"Well...from a certain point of view I guess you are right." the girl shrugged "But she really should have known better than to go out chasing little old me, right?" she finished her sentence off with a grin and threw the married blades at Miyu.
"Sapphire!"
"Right!" The girl slashed outwards and released a small blue wave of energy which batted away the swords, her eyes then widened in alarm as the tanned girl burst through the wave towards her.
"Sap-oof!" The breath was knocked from her lungs when the girl struck her in the chest, blasting her downwards the ground. She groaned when she smacked into the dirt and rolled for a few metres.
The tanned Illya dropped to the ground with all the grace of a feather.
Miyu lifted her head up to stare at the clone before frowning.
"Miyu-sama! That impact registered as being almost as powerful as the Saber card." The Kaleidostick announced "I have no doubt she's holding back, this is not an opponent we can fight without Archer-san!"
At the mention of Archer, the duplicate winced and looked slightly more nervous than before "Ah...right...him…" she shrugged "Yeah, I don't really stand a chance against Onii-chan, which is probably why I'll need to be quick and clean with my mission...although I suppose he might agree with it…" she hummed in thought for a few seconds and looked back at Miyu with a more predatory expression "But I suppose it doesn't matter too much right now...doesn't it, Mi-yu-chan!~"
"Leave her alone!" The duplicate widened her eyes in surprise and proceeded to flip through the air several times, avoiding the rapid stream of pink blasts which obliterated where she had last been.
Miyu looked up to see Illya racing towards her, Ruby in hand and a determined look on her face.
"A sneak attack?" The duplicate giggled as she landed on the ground "Now that wasn't very heroic of you."
"You were going to attack Miyu!" Illya announced as she landed next to the other magical girl, the looked around and widened her eyes in shock as they fell on the unconscious Luvia "What did you do to Luvia-san!?"
"Relax yourself 'little hero'" She said in a mocking tone, although Illya could pick up trace amounts of venom in the nickname "She's fine...I only decided to have a...little meal is all…"
"Meal?" Illya blinked in surprise then looked at Miyu, the girl blushing bright red again and pointedly not looking at Illya or her clone.
"The Archer card...drained Luvia-sans mana." Sapphire spoke up "By...engaging in direct physical contact."
"Physical contact?" Illya furrowed her brows in confusion. Illya looked at the unconscious Luvia, then to the grinning clone, then to the bright red Miyu in rapid succession.
Ruby came to a conclusion first "Pfft! HAHAHA!" and released a loud laugh "Oh-oh! This is certainly an act worthy of a demon lord! Hahaha! Hurry Ill-pfft-Illya-chan! Stop that deviant!"
"Deviant?" She looked at the stick in confusion...then her expression blanked as she realised what everyone meant, her head slowly turned to the tanned girl. Then blushed bright red "You! You! With my face!?"
"What?" The girl shrugged "Its just a mana exchange, nothing special about it." she gestured to Luvia "She probably won't mind too much." her carefree expression disappeared an instant later, replaced with a frown "Before we start...I'm going to ask you something important...what do you want to be when you get older?"
Illya stared at her in confusion, then thought back to everything she'd done since becoming a magical girl. Her expression steeled itself as best it could, although it was slightly offset by her still noticeable blush, and she answered after a few seconds "A Hero of Justice."
The clone stared at her, her lips curling in disgust "Of course...In that case, I won't need to regret this." instantly, she projected Archer's black bow and immediately fired several arrows at Illya.
The white haired girl widened her eyes and threw up a shield with Ruby, the arrows impacted and detonated in bright blue explosions which caused several cracks to appear in Illya's defence.
She dropped the shield and unleashed a wave of pink energy, the clone sliding underneath the attack and projecting Archers married sword into her hands before slashing at Illya, the girl flew into the sky and avoided the strike.
"Why are you doing this?" Illya cried out to her, firing off several more blasts at the clone who flipped away from them.
"What do you mean?" The clone scoffed "You obviously seemed determined to kill yourself, so I'm just giving you a helping hand."
"What!?" Illya recoiled from her "I'm not trying to kill myself!"
"Oh?" The clone sneered at her "That's not what I see!" she projected the bow again and fired off another dozen arrows at Illya.
However, before they could get anywhere near her, they were shot out of the sky by matching set.
The clone widened her eyes and her head snapped to the side.
Archer landed in the clearing, bow still in hand and sword in the string, ready to be fired at the clone.
"Archer-san!" Miyu cried out in relief, Illya looked slightly more sheepish.
"I believe I told you to leave this to me." Archer commented, Illya flinched and the clone smirked.
"What were you expecting?" She threw her arms wide "She wants to be a 'Hero of Justice' so of course she's going to do something stupid!"
Archer frowned "Before you die, what were you hoping to achieve in killing my Master?"
The clone stared at Archer for a few moments before she gave him a knowing look "If you saw yourself doing something so unbelievably stupid that it would cost them their lives...wouldn't it anger you as well?"
Archer's mind blanked.
AN: I'm back!
After updating a few other stories, starting another one, we're back to this one!
Also...some of you may be wondering why I have been updating other stories before this one.
They are easier to write, not because I don't like them more its just that you're granted a certain degree of freedom when writing them. Yes, certain events still have to happen, but other than that I get a bit of freedom in writing the story I want to write.
With this one, there has to be a suspension of disbelief and I want to try and at least respect the source Material. Keep it believable, you know? So yeah, I have to take my time with this one.
But yeah, I just want to write a good story which could believable take place. That's all and I want to take my time with it.
Ideas for Souls and Singularities and Demon in Fodlan come a lot easier and I can spam out a couple thousand words pretty quickly.
With this its more like 'What would this character do?' and 'How would this impact the story if that were to happen?'
Anyway. Hope you liked this chapter. See you again in the next exciting episode of Dragon Ball Z
