Chapter 15: Next steps
"They're still talking in there?" Chloe asked Archer as she joined him in the kitchen, her voice hushed as the rest of the group were in the dining room discussing what Shirou was talking about in regards to his visions of the Class Card.
"They are." Archer replied, then looked Chloe over before returning to his work "Any reason you're here and not with in your room?"
"You're the only one I really want to be around." Chloe remarked, Archer raised an eyebrow at her.
"Oh?" He smirked "You do realise that I was, and still am, very open to the possibility of killing you?" Chloe sharply turned her head to him and gave him a slightly pained look.
"At least you're honest about it." Archer cringed at her vacant expression "I've...accepted…" She hissed the word through gritted teeth "That she was ignorant as to what she did...I haven't forgiven her though…" she turned back to looking at the group "I...don't think I can…"
"...I see." Archer muttered "And this translates to deciding to hang around me how?"
"When you…" Chloe bit her lip, wondering where to start "When you figured out that Onii-chan couldn't be killed...what made you decide to stay?"
"The Class cards." Archer replied immediately "Even if I couldn't kill the idiot...They were still a concern."
"...You're still here…"
Archer let out a sigh "...I am…"
"Why?" She pleaded with him "How did you...find your purpose here?"
"I didn't." Archer shook his head "I don't have a place here." he gestured behind him "When you look Irisviel...what do you see?"
"...My mother, in the loosest possible term." Chloe shrugged "Kind of eccentric...although she…" she cringed slightly "She doesn't think things through...she…"
"Tries to bulldoze her way through problems." Archer finished for her "I can see where Illya got her optimism from...That woman...can't really accept that things in her family aren't how she wants them to be…"
"Huh?" Chloe sent Archer a questioning look, Archer saw her confused gaze and elaborated.
"She fought so hard for her family." He sighed "Sacrificed the entire family work of the Einzberns and threw away what she was created for...Managed to carve out this little life for herself here…" he frowned "She's fought too hard and refuses to accept anything less than her perfect family...So...she ignores what she doesn't like."
"What do you-?"
"Kiritsugu is a monster." Archer replied "No matter how much...how much she loves him...He's still the man who killed hundreds...maybe thousands in order to ensure his target died...and me?" he let out a bitter chuckle "If you had appeared before she found out who I was...I would have killed you."
"Why does it matter?"
"It would have broken her." Archer shook his head "She's living her dream...her fantasy...She even see's me as her second son." he scoffed "I'm not and no amount of pleading she does will ever change that...But...if she'd seen me kill you." he sighed "She'd have been forced to accept the reality of her situation."
"What situation?"
"Her paradise never existed." Archer shrugged "What little she has is falling apart now...And she has no control over it…" he looked Chloe in the eye "That's why she's so desperate to try and make you and I fit in her little family...Because that's the only way she'll hold onto what she wants so desperately…"
Chloe slumped and looked away "She's...she's ignoring what she doesn't like?"
"...She is…" Archer muttered "She'll likely never speak to you of your pain...or mine…"
"Or Onii-chans…" Chloe finished, when Archer looked at her in confusion she clarified "After you were gone...He told us a bit about what he saw…" she winced "It was...even through Illya's eyes...it was horrible…But...Mama...she just…"
"She's effectively a child." Archer shook his head "She is both a good mother and a terrible parent…" he sighed "No matter what, if you're her child, she'll love you. But she'll ignore just about everything else."
Chloe stared at Archer for few moments before she burst into a fit of self-depreciating giggles "So...So I can't even get angry at her...because she's basically a kid…" her laugh died down and turned into a scowl "So...she's ignoring Illya's fantasy because…"
"She doesn't want to admit how wrong it could all go." Archer finished with a scowl "Kiritsugu won't let her go that easily though. Besides, after whatever occurs with Zouken I suspect she'll re-evaluate the price of her dream."
"...Do you…" Chloe went to ask then bit her lip "Do you think I can…"
"Find a place here?" Archer turned to her, when she nodded he sighed "I don't know. I won't, but then again, you aren't me. But its whether or not you would feel comfortable with Irisviel ignoring what she did to you and whether you could ignore Illya"
"I can't...I see her…and I see…"
"You see what I see with this Shirou." Archer whispered to himself "The Road not taken...the life you could have lived if only things were different…"
"...Yeah…"
"I don't know if I hate this version of me you know…" Archer released a bitter chuckle "He has everything I didn't…"
"You're probably jealous." Chloe smirked, Archer's face fell and he looked away from her.
"Maybe...although that would be a new one…" He scowled "If you're wondering if it will get easier looking at someone else living your desired life I can't answer that...ultimately the idiot was right." he shrugged "Maybe you are a fake...but who's to say you can't surpass the original." he looked Chloe in the eyes "You say she's stealing your life? Then lead a better one…"
Chloe looked Archer in the eyes before she turned away "...How?" she whispered "I...I don't know…"
"That...is something I can't tell you…" Archer looked away "But...I hope you do find it...You'd at least be better than me…"
"I still hate Illya."
"If I were you...I'd probably feel the same."
"Well…" Chloe smirked "I am your sister…"
"No…" Archer mumbled to himself "No...you aren't…"
Chloe looked up at him with an unreadable expression before she placed a hand on his arm "I guess not...but...I'll think of myself that way...given our connection...we may as well be related…"
"I suppose." Archer shook his head.
"No." Rin cut Shirou off with a shaky expression "No...I don't believe you."
"Tohsa-" Shirou began, only for the girl to slam her hand onto the table.
"No!" She shouted at him "My Father would never have allowed that to happen."
"Even if he did." Luvia began with a slightly troubled expression "She is now a Matou...What occurs in their family is of little concern to the Association."
"...What?" Shirou hissed at her, Luvia flinched at his tone "Little concern?" he parroted with an expression of growing rage "He's-!"
"How do you even know this!?" Rin snapped at him "Yes, Matou Zouken is a creep but he isn't...that doesn't make any sense why he would even do that! You are accusing one of the oldest families of Japan of this and your only evidence is, what? Dreams?" she scoffed at the word "I have a responsibility as Temporary Second Owner until my Father returns to ensure that Fuyuki remains stable in his absence...barging into that man's residence and absconding with...Sakura...on the basis of bad dreams is the exact opposite of what I was charged with doing!"
"But he's-!"
"Why don't you go ask Archer!" Rin snapped at him "Apparently he's you!" she let out an incredulous laugh "Because why not!? What else could possibly surprise me today! First Class Cards! Then Ruby and Sapphire up and abandon us! Then a Servant turns up then a copy of Illyasviel!" she let out a mad laugh "Then apparently Archer is a version of Shirou who is also a magical mass murderer and now you're telling me that my Father gave away my younger Sister to a five hundred year old pseudo vampire who apparently tortures her for kicks!" she was panting by the end of her rant, eyes wide and firmly locked on Shirou's determined face.
"She's your sister." Shirou replied "Even if it is only a rumo-"
"She's not." Rin cut him off, Shirou recoiled in surprise. As did Illya "She is Matou Sakura. She is a child of the Matou's and of no relation to me…"
"No." Illya slammed her hands on the table and stood up, giving Rin a look of determination "We're going to save her."
"No we are not." Rin shut her down "This is not one of your 'magical girl' missions. This is the head of a Magus family which has been in Fuyuki for centuries. Declining or no, they still have contacts in the clock tower." she frowned "If you go charging in there and blow up his house, we are the ones who will be dragged before the Association and put through a hearing which will no doubt end will many of us dead."
"B-but…" Illya stuttered "We have to do something!"
"No...we don't." Rin sighed and palmed her face, Luvia stood up and walked over to Miyu.
"Come, Miyu...we're going home." The blonde haired girl walked past and looked over her shoulder "It was a pleasure to meet you, Lady Einzbern." Miyu cast a desperate glance between Luvia and Illya before her shoulders slumped and she followed the woman out of the house.
"I'm going." Shirou stated, when Rin whirled on him he glared at her "I don't care what you say. If she is...if that...If the situation is the same...then I can't leave her there…" his eyes softened "And I know you don't want to either…"
Rin scoffed and looked away "I can...allow for an investigation…" she muttered, then flashed Shirou a glare "Which I will conduct." she looked at Illya "I'll be taking Archer for that…Its the best I can do right now...If." she held up a finger "And I mean 'If' Zouken is doing anything which would earn himself a more...confrontation visit...then you will all be the first to know…" she narrowed her eyes "That is the best I can offer you…"
Shirou grit his teeth and looked away "...Fine…" Illya let out a sigh of relief and looked at Rin with a grateful smile. The girl sighed and shook her head.
"I wouldn't be so quick to thank me...I've allowed for an investigation...Nothing more as of yet." She scowled "It means I'll...need to make some calls…" she muttered under her breath and walked away "Just...make sure you do something about Archer Illya...And tell the proper Archer to meet me after school tomorrow."
"Chloe!" Irisviel shouted after Rin, the twin tailed girl muttered a curse under her breath and left the house "Where is she anyway?"
"In the kitchen with Archer." Kiritsugu pinched the bridge of his nose "Shirou...Can I speak with you for a moment."
"Sure." The red head shrugged and followed Kiritsugu out of the room.
"I thought you said you weren't going to follow Archer's path." Kiritsugu spoke to him as soon as they were out of the room, the man closed the door and turned around to stare Shirou down "This kind of reckless behaviour is exactly the kind of thing I wanted you to avoid."
"She might be in trouble!" Shirou replied back in an equally hard tone "I can't just leave her in...in that kind of-"
"Yes you can!" Kiritsugu cut him off with a frown, when Shirou stepped back with his eyes wide Kiritsugu elaborated "Being a Magus like myself means you have to pick and choose your battles. This one is not worth it."
"Saku-"
"You've never even spoken to the girl." Kiritsugu frowned and crossed his arms "You've never held a conversation, you spoke with the Shinji boy a few times before he moved to a different school."
"But if Zouken-"
"Shirou." Kiritsugu was now glaring at him "You have the memories of a version of yourself from a world that never happened. Even if the Tohsaka heir turns up any kind of evidence of wrong doing...Are you truly prepared for the fallout of killing the head of Magus family. This will put not only yourself but everyone else in the family on the radar of the association." Kiritsugu walked up to Shirou and looked down at him, Shirou found himself unable to meet Kiritsugu's eyes and looked away "Are you prepared to put Illya at risk...for a girl you barely know?"
"...I…" Shirou began and faltered slightly "...We...we can't just…"
"Which is why the Tohsaka heir is investigating the matter with Archer." Kiritsugu sighed "I'm not telling you to abandon the girl...but I'm telling you what this will mean if we are forced to act."
"...So I'm to be helping Rin for the next few days?" Archer raised an eyebrow at Illya and Irisviel "She's performing an investigation into Zouken?"
"That's...thats what she said…" Illya murmured "But...I'd rather…"
"You are not charging into the workshop of the centuries Old magus." Archer cut her off with a glare "Even I would be hesitant to do that." he sent a glance towards Chloe "And her?"
"She'll be staying with us." Irisviel grinned and placed her hands on the tanned girls shoulders, Chloe flinched and pulled herself out of the woman's grasp. Irisivel's smile faltered slightly but remained on her face "I'll need to work out some paperwork for her…" she smirked at Archer "But...I think I can work something out between the two of you."
"Archer…" Illya spoke up "Rin said to meet her after school tomorrow."
"Hmph." Archer grunted and shook his head "Fine…" then looked at Irisviel with barely restrained exhaustion "You're going to transfer Chloe into the school aren't you?"
"Yep." Irisviel nodded, causing Archer to scowl.
"Fine...What do you intend to do about her need for Magical energy?" He raised an eyebrow "Surely you must realise that she has more in common with myself than any of you?"
"Can't she form a contract with someone?" Illya asked, Chloe scoffed and shook her head.
"No...because I'm not actually a Heroic Spirit or a wraith...I'm basically a consciousness using the class card to materialise myself." She shrugged her shoulders "I'm a rogue servant so I need transfers to stay alive."
"Blood it is then." Archer sighed, everyone else sent him shocked glances "What?"
"I'm not some vampire." Chloe scoffed "You can't expect me to act like one."
"You are also around ten years old." Archer replied with a frown "If you, for one second, believe that I will allow you to harvest souls then you are mistaken."
"Well…" Chloe smirked "There are other more...enjoyable wa-"
"No." Archer cringed "That is arguably worse than blood sucking."
"Why?" Chloe frowned and crossed her arms "I've done it before."
"What you did was assault Luvia." He scowled "And you are not doing that to anyone else." he looked at Irisviel "You've decided to keep her, so you feed her blood."
"Spoilsport!" Chloe pouted "Its not like I was going to bite them or something…"
"I agree with Archer…" Irisviel muttered "I wouldn't really be comfortable with you doing the...other methods of Mana transference."
"What are we, puritans?" Chloe huffed "Fine...do you have a room for me?"
"Yes." Irisviel nodded "It was the guest room, so its a little sparse of decoration but we'll be able to-"
"I'll take it." Chloe cut her off and walked out of the kitchen.
"I can show yo-"
"I don't need a guide." Chloe interrupted her again and sent her a sideways glance which showed no discernable emotion "I technically lived in this house my whole life as well." she turned back around "I know it like the back of my hand." with that, she disappeared up the stairs, leaving behind a slightly hurt looking Irisviel, a frowning Illya and an apathetic Archer.
The tanned servant shrugged and went back to the kitchen work, their little escapade had taken up nearly an hour and Archer was preparing to make dinner at this point. Much to the irritation of Sella who he had shooed out of the kitchen.
Combat homunculus she might have been, but when it came to conquering kitchens he was virtually Iskandarian in his success.
Dinner was, for lack of a better word, a rather awkward affair.
Irisviel's attempt at conversation with Chloe were met with curt responses if the woman was lucky, otherwise they were completely ignored. Kiritsugu made very little in the way of an attempt at connecting with the girl either, although Chloe knew it was likely because the man was very much stunted when it came to emotional attachments.
Chloe would give him slight leeway. He at least recognised her pain if the rather guilty looks he had were any indication. Not Irisviel though, she attempted to try and connect with Chloe as if nothing had ever occurred. An action which, in light of her conversation with Archer, was both aggravating and depressing.
She really could see what he meant when he called the woman a child. It really was like watching a young girl try and ignore a problem she didn't like as a way of fixing things. If the expressions of Archer and Kiritsugu were any indication, they were both aware of this as well.
Shirou did his best to make her feel welcome, although that was his natural kindness at work. She doubted he had a negative bone in his body...or at least she had until she saw his expression when talking about Zouken. That was an expression which seemed so alien to her, pure hatred.
Illya...She was uncomfortable around Chloe. Either because of what she had learnt about her doppelgänger or because of the attempt on her life. Chloe didn't care either way. Sella was making a rather poor attempt at hiding her suspicion of the girl.
Leysritt didn't seem to care and was just stuffing her face with food.
"Are you excited for school tomorrow Chloe?" Irisviel asked, she had been attempting to make conversation for the whole dinner. Asking question after question.
"Sure." Was Chloe's dull remark before she remembered something "Actually, aren't you a teacher there Onii-chan?" she looked at Archer with a mischievous expression.
"Yes." Was his dry remark, although she could see the vague annoyance in his eyes. Perhaps this would be fun.
"Who knows...Maybe I'll end up in your class." She smirked "With how similar we are, I wonder if people will think I'm your daughter…"
Archer sent her a blank look before he frowned "If you end up in my class, it will be for the express purpose of me keeping an eye on you." he narrowed his eyes "And I very much doubt they will think I am your father. Only a complete fool would believe that."
"I don't know…" Chloe smirked "I think Taiga-sensei might overreact...don't you?"
Irisivel didn't miss Archer's flinch at the name, the servant cringed before he looked back at his food "I'm...sure...She'll assume I am your older brother."
"Actually I put Chloe's guardian as you, Archer." Irisviel spoke up, the pair snapped their heads to her. One with a smug expression and the other in barely concealed horror "With how similar you are and your recorded age, it made sense to list you as family cousins."
"You…" Archer scowled and looked over to see Shirou smirking at him. His face scrunched up before he lowered his head into his hands.
"Must be that E-ranked luck." Shirou muttered under his breath, Archer snapped his head to the red haired boy.
"Perhaps I should see if that thick skull of yours absorbed any techniques from the class card you held." Archer replied in a slightly more aggressive tone "I'm sure your grand performance will highlight any flaws for Sella in terms of close quarters combat."
"W-what?" Shirou stuttered and shot a glance over to the homunculus. Only to see her staring at him with a strangely blank expression, however he could see the glint in her eye which promised only pain.
"No threatening at the dinner table." Irisviel spoke with a slight frown "Tell them Kiritsugu."
"Hmm?" The man looked up, having only just become aware of the conversation, then looked to Shirou "Listen to Archer, it will be useful to think on your weaknesses for when you and Sella spar." when Shirou stared at him in betrayal, he looked over to Irisviel and saw the slight frown on her face which told him that had been the wrong thing to say.
"I wanted you to get them to stop threatening eachother." Irisviel muttered "We're trying to have a nice family dinner."
Chloe snorted. Irisviel looked over at the girl with slightly narrowed eyes "Chloe...Do you have something to say?"
"Oh, no." Chloe waved her off "I wouldn't want to disturb the lovely little family we've got here...not that you'd listen." she muttered the last part under her breath, not quiet enough to escape Archer's ears however.
The servant barely withheld a sigh. Evidently Irisviel heard it as well, given the slight flinch the woman gave "Chloe...listen I-"
"Oh listen?" She sneered "I can't wait to hear what you have to say now. I wonder what other life changing revelations you have for us now?"
"Chloe." Archer spoke up, silencing the table, the girl turned to his stern expression "Don't. It's not worth it."
"No Archer." Irisviel spoke up "If Chloe has anything to say, I'd like to hear it."
"I'm sure you would." Chloe scoffed "I'm sure you'd hear a lot of things and ignore most of them."
"Chloe-" Shirou began, only to have the girl whirl on him with an expression torn between pity and anger.
"What? Are you going to tell me I'm wrong?" She turned back to Irisviel "You seem so desperate to hear all the grievances one second and then the next you'll act as if nothing ever happened!"
"That's not tr-" Irisviel began, only to have the girl cut her off.
"Don't you dare!" She snarled "Tell me that's not true. You say you care so much? Then riddle me this mother. How come you haven't noticed that Shirou still has nightmares?"
"What?" Irisviel blinked and looked at Shirou, who was currently averting his gaze "Is that true?"
Chloe clicked her tongue "The fact you haven't even noticed the bags under his eyes tells me everything…" she pushed away from the table and stood up "I've lost my appetite." she looked at Archer "Thanks for cooking Onii-chan." she turned away and left the room.
Leaving behind a rather awkward dinner table.
Archer pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed while Irisviel's expression turned shocked as she noticed the dark bags under her sons eyes.
"Shirou...Is what she said-"
"Yes…" He whispered "B-but they're not that bad…" he added on hastily, although lying had never been his strong suit and it showed.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Irisviel reached across the table and placed her hand on his, giving him a comforting smile "If I'd known the nightmares were that bad, I'd just use magecraft t-"
"No!" Shirou recoiled from her, his eyes wide and slightly panicked which caused the woman to stare in shock. Seeing her expression, Shirou's became guilty and he looked away "Sorry...T-they're not that bad...I just...I don't really want to be hypnotised again…"
"Shirou…" Irisviel reached out to him, only for the boy to stand up.
"Excuse me…" He bowed his head slightly "I'll go check on Chloe."
"Shirou!" Irisviel called after him, he stopped for a few seconds before he continued on.
Irisviel stared at his retreating form before her expression became crestfallen as she looked down at her hands.
Chloe raised an eyebrow when she heard a knock on her door. She frowned and called out "Go away!"
"Chloe? It's Shirou." She blinked in surprise, she really should have expected him of all people to come up and check on her.
"...Fine. You can come in." She replied as she sat herself down on her bed. The door opened and Shirou walked in, giving Chloe a small smile as he closed the door behind him.
"Hey...I just wanted to see how you were. You got…" He paused as he searched for the right words "A little confrontational." he settled on, Chloe sighed.
"I...lost my temper."
"Yeah…" Shirou nodded "How did you know about the nightmares?"
"I'm a bit more observational than Illya." She replied "I could notice that for the past few weeks you seemed a little jumpy. Heck, I noticed than you virtually freaked out when you saw a shadow." she cringed when Shirou flinched "Sorry...that was uncalled for."
"No…" Shirou shook his head "You're right...I have been a little...jittery…" he gave a bitter chuckle "I'm surprised no one else noticed sooner…"
"...Are you alright?"
"...You said that you felt trapped in Illya's body…" Shirou spoke as he looked at her "That you were...forced to watch without being able to act."
"Yeah…" Chloe nodded and gave a self-depreciating chuckle "Worst movie I ever sat through...and I was there when Illya watched her magical shows…"
Shirou didn't laugh "They aren't nightmares…" he barely whispered "That would imply they weren't real…"
"They're memories...You gave a brief description…" She spoke and looked up at him "They...they didn't sound very nice…"
"I left most of it out…" he walked over and sat down next to her, a defeated look on his face "I...I was there...but I wasn't...probably a bit like you...trapped in my own body. I could see an-..and feel...everything…" he turned to her and caused her body to freeze.
She couldn't tear herself away from the haunted look in his eyes.
"They never left...they...they've been repeating...Every morning I way up...and my arm…" he clenched his left arm and squeezed his eyes shut "I slammed the door on my fingers and I...I barely registered it...I have memories that aren't mine...I know they aren't mine but at the same time…" he opened his eyes "I did everything in them...I...I remember everything…"
"Onii-chan…" Chloe reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Irisviel she…" He sighed "I'd been getting the memories for a few days prior...but when she...did something to me to make me sleep…" he let out a choked gasp "Oh god...she trapped me...I-I can still remember what she said...'Pleasant dreams Shirou'...I didn't want her to know because…" he looked away "Chloe...I'm scared of her…"
"What?" Chloe's eyes widened, she hadn't expected that confession, nor did she expect him to sound so...so small when he spoke like that.
"I know...I know she's my mother...She wouldn't ever want to hurt me on purpose but...She offered to get rid of my nightmares with magecraft or hypnosis but...I just heard her voice and…" He bit his lip "I just...I felt trapped again…"
"Onii-chan...are you-?"
"Alright...no…" He sniffed "Listen...I...I know you're angry with her but...but at least give her a chance…" he gave her a pleading look "I'm not asking you to forgive her immediately but...let her try...for both our sakes…"
Chloe winced and looked away, she took in a deep breath and looked back at Shirou "...I'll give her a chance, but only because you asked me to."
"Thank you…" Shirou let out a sigh of relief "She...she really does mean well but…"
"She likes to bulldoze her way through problems." Chloe finished with a smirk, when Shirou gave her a slightly puzzled look she continued "Archer said something similar."
"Tch." Shirou clicked his tongue "I'd rather not sound like him."
"I don't know…" Chloe shrugged and leaned against Shirou's shoulder "I think you'd look quite cool with tanned skin and white hair."
"Don't make fun of me." Shirou released a small laugh, Chloe allowed herself a small pat on the back that he'd temporarily forgotten about the nightmares.
"Yes. It's me." Rin spoke through the phone "I'm using my authority as acting second owner"
"…"
What for? An investigation...Into Matou Zouken." Rin blinked in surprise "Huh, I don't think I've heard you get disgusted like that before."
"…"
"Yeah, yeah laugh it up." she scowled "I know...Its personal"
"..."
"Yes I realise the effect it could have."
"…"
"Will you or won't you?"
"…"
"Because...I have heard disturbing rumours...about his person…"
"…"
"A very reliable source." Rin seethed "Look. Will you help or not?"
"…"
"Fine...What conditions?"
"…"
"...I've already told him to meet my after school tomorrow...I'm sure we can accommodate your arrival."
"…"
"Great. Thanks a bunch."
"…"
"Of course I was being sarcastic you-...Hello?" Rin blinked "Hello? Are you still there?" she pulled the phone away from her ear "Did he? Did he hang up on me!?"
The figure placed the phone down and sighed "Quite the troublesome young girl." he looked back to his desk as a new envelope lay upon it "Hm? 'Student Transfer-Emiya Chloe'?"
"A new student." The white haired girl across from him spoke in a monotone voice "A rather recent addition. Also one who has a rather interesting appearance."
"Hm?" The figure opened up the envelope and looked at her picture with an indiscernible expression "...She does have a rather unique look."
"Oh...Interested in children now? How disturbing, perhaps I should warn the Principal about your perversion."
The man narrowed his eyes at her "Your irrelevant and outlandish words aside, I assume you understand her similarities to the reported appearance of the Archer class servant."
"Yes." The white haired girl nodded "Given what we know of the Class Cards and the limited information on the Einzberns, it is possible they had created one specifically to channel the power of a Heroic Spirit."
"Hmmm…" The figure nodded "The Archer servant has yet to speak with either of us...although the Tohsaka heir has organised an investigation into the old worm."
"Oh?" The girl tilted her head "I thought she wasn't aware of what he was?"
"She has been made aware by the servant. Although I find it peculiar that an Archer servant could understand the true nature of a Magus such as him...Ultimately it matters very little. She has requested the aid of the Church in this investigation."
"And will she receive aid?"
"That depends on what evidence she uncovers." he turned around "Although I have my suspicions on what the origin of this investigation is about...or rather who. I doubt that Zouken's interest in the second Tohsaka child was one of academic study."
"He's also interest in young girls? I see." The girl nodded "You two have that in common."
The man sighed.
AN: Hello everyone
Here with another chapter. Like I said, I wasn't done with Chloe just yet, and it looks like Irisivel's choices are coming back to bite her in the ass.
Also an investigation into worm boy, mystery people at the school and a small confession from Shirou.
To be honest, Irisivel's hypnosis trapped Shirou in the HF route, so I imagined that he would probably be slightly scared of her when she starts talking about casually looking through his mind again.
Also I will be doing a Question and Answer session!
Ask your questions and I will answer them in the next chapter.
