"Master/Servant Link"
Noble Phantasm
Chapter 27: Stolen goods
The group released a breath they didn't know they had been holding in, Miyu raising the command seal on the back of her hand was a flag of victory for them. Not that Archer was paying too much attention beyond the obvious, he was still clasping his broken nose and blinking back tears in his eyes from the pain.
Being punched in the face by Lancelot hurt.
Who could have guessed? Not that he was alone in this situation. Bazett's right arm hung limply at her side because of the broken hand. The woman held a pained grimace on her face as she stared at the Berserker Servant, a note of apprehension still in her as she stared at the Servant. As if still expecting them to sudden spur into life and resume their offensive. When nothing happened, she didn't quite lower her guard but she did appear far less tense than she was moments earlier.
"Miyu." Archer grunted to her, wincing as his voice sounded muffled and somewhat nasally because of his current condition "Is the link stable?"
The girl nodded once, Sapphire raised her head in accordance and gave a similar report "The Master-Servant link between Berserker and Miyu-sama is stable, I am currently providing them with magical energy so as to not place too great a strain on her. However, she should be able to function perfectly fine without me." it wasn't much of a surprise to Archer, the girl was a vessel for the Holy Grail. Her ability to produce magical energy would be monstrous.
"Victory, Illya-chan!" Then Ruby cried out in a joyful tone, as if she hadn't almost doomed them all by managing to anger Lancelot enough to the point where he would draw out his Noble Phantasm. "Say it with me now! Ei ei oh!" the stick cried, earning an awkward look from her master and scowls from everyone else "Ei ei o-"
"Grrrrrrr…" The ominous growl from Berserker cut her off, Ruby clamming shut and Illya freezing on the spot when the Knight's helmet turned in her direction and trailed down to the mystic code in her hands. Seemingly burning with newfound intensity, and apparently a newfound hatred.
"Quite the achievement Ruby has performed, Master." Archer's glib voice echoed in Illya's mind, making her jolt slightly "She's managed to become the new object of hatred for a Berserker after only one proper meeting."
"I don't think that's something to boast about…" Illya nervously responded, then fidgeted on the spot as Lancelot continued to glare at the Mystic code "Also Berserker is...intense."
"They're a Knight of the Round Table." Archer sighed "They're supposed to be intense...although I didn't think that Lancelot could manifest as a Berserker of all things." his voice trailed off from exasperated to intrigued towards then end, Illya cocked a mental eyebrow and turned to him.
"Is he not supposed to be able to?"
"...Not important. Just surprised was all." Archer dismissed, soon getting back to his feet and noticing Lancelot's vision turn away from the Mystic Code and fall onto him. The two remained silent as they stared at eachother, Archer attempting to mask his features as best he could through his pain while Berserker's helm remained silent.
"Miyu-sama." Sapphire's voice broke the stalemate "I believe you should have Berserker-san return to spirit form, it will allow them to heal themselves faster if they are not consuming magical energy to remain in physical form."
"A-ah." Miyu blinked, then nodded her head in affirmation. Looking up to Berserker, she licked her lips nervously before speaking out to her recently acquired Servant "You can go?"
Lancelot stared back at her for a few seconds before they released a small grunt, their body soon vanishing into motes of light as they returned to Spirit form.
Archer bound himself raising an eyebrow at the ease of the act, he would have assumed that a Berserker would be fa more challenging to order around than that, but he wasn't going to complain. As long as they were able to use him successfully against Gilgamesh, then there was no reason to concern themselves on how well behaved they were currently being. Although it was going to end up as one big catastrophe when this crisis was inevitably put to a closure and if they were victorious.
There was no denying that the mages association, even if they didn't consider Japan to be their priority, were going to make an appearance in some form. Especially Tohsaka's father, considering this all happened within the city that he was in charge of as Second Owner, it would be quite the blow against his reputation that this fiasco had occurred at all.
Speaking of Tohsaka, he could no doubt see the argument between her and Edelfelt when Miyu returned with Lancelot in tow. The blonde haired girl was more than likely going to boast about the strength of her wards servant and how pitiful Archer was in comparison when it came to physical stats and legend.
"Master." Archer's voice broke the silence of the group "You and the others should make their way back to the house." Illya sent him a questioning glance "I will move over to the Matou residence and see if they are in need of aid." he explained further, prompting Illya to let out a gasp of understanding and nod her head "No, you aren't coming with me." he went on in a dry voice, the girl flinched and slumped her shoulders.
He turned his attention back to Bazett, the Enforcer was cradling her broken hand when she sent him an inquisitive look "Is there something you need?"
"Do you want a lift back?" He asked with a smirk, the woman scowled at him although there was a slight hint of redness on her cheeks from embarrassment at the memory of being carried so suddenly.
"No." She replied in a firm tone of voice, one which brook no argument and let Archer know that even if she only had one hand she would still throw it if he continued down that line of thought. Archer bit back a chuckle before dissipating into motes of light in the same way as Berserker.
"I'll let one of them do it then." Were his parting words as his form departed the physical realm. The three remaining looked at eachother before Illya gave a small cough into her hand before fidgeting on the spot.
"...Do...do you want me to carry you?" She hesitantly asked, Bazett's eye twitched before she let out a sigh.
"Very well." She replied in a tired tone of voice, moving towards the younger girl and slinging her good arm over her shoulder. Illya floated up slightly so as to counter the height difference between the two of them. Using her free hand to grab onto Bazett's wrist and wrapping her other arm around the woman's waist as they floated into the air. The Enforcer's grimace made it obvious she was less than happy at the image of being carried by a young girl.
"Look at you go, Illya-chan!" Ruby chuckled "Already picking up maide-Ow!" the stick was cut off when Bazett managed to use her impressive level of flexibility and land a solid kick on it. "Ha!" Ruby let out a bark of laughter "I was made by the Wizard Marshal himself! A little kick won't be enough to hurt me."
"Then keep talking and wait until we land."
"...Okay." Ruby decided it was best to remain silent as the woman's glare looked hot enough to melt steel beams. Illya gave an embarrassed chuckle before sending Bazett a guilty look. Subtly apologising for Ruby's antics. Miyu soon joined them as she skipped through the air beside them.
"I assume our next course of action, now that Berserker-san is under our control, is to locate Gilgamesh." Sapphire affirmed to the group, getting several grunts in response "However…How will we find him?"
"Bait." Miyu replied in a low whisper, Illya shot her a look which practically begged her not to continue talking. Bazett looked at the two in mild confusion before her eyes narrowed in suspicion. It was obvious that the pair of them were aware of something important.
The wall shattered as she crashed into it, her momentum carrying her through the bricks, the oven itself was destroyed when her back slammed into it, forcing the air from her lungs and making her cough out a small trickle of blood. Chloe didn't waste any time in shooting back to her feet. Primarily because she couldn't, the second she jumped away what remained of the kitchen was obliterated when half a dozen assorted weapons slammed into it.
She knew that Archer was going to be mad that the Kitchen had been destroyed, she knew her brother would be as well. Although that still remained a priority to her. Right now, she really wanted to wipe that smug look of the golden boys face.
The worst part was that he had barely even looked at her for the majority of their 'fight' if it could be called that. Passing glances at best as he continuously opened up portals to spam weapons at her at high speeds. That irked her a little, although she could tell he was at least not taking her seriously, either that or he just wasn't in the mood to level the whole house.
"Hm?" Gilgamesh turned a lazy eye away from Chloe and towards the sound of shattering glass, the group froze when they saw the golden King's sight lock onto them. Irisviel cradling the still unconscious Shirou in her arms while being flanked by Sella and Leysritt, the pair of maids each holding an oversized halberd levelled at the king. Rin and Luvia had been the ones to shatter the door to provide a quick escape although they both looked ready to whip out their gems to provide some meagre form of resistance.
"Ah, there's the thief." Gilgamesh lazily declared, crossing his arms and turning his full attention to the ensemble "Now-" he was cut off by the sound of steel colliding with steel. Kanshou and Bakuya inches from his head, having been blocked by the polearm of a large two handed axe. Red eyes trailed away from them and towards his side, Chloe sneered up at him as she jumped up and kicked against the axe with both her feet and shot away from the Archer. Waving her hand in front of her she generated several steel swords and launched them towards the Hero. Gilgamesh snorted disdainfully and manifested a simple shield in front of him, the weapons slammed into the protective aegis and shattered instantly.
"Get out!" Chloe shouted at them as she rushed forwards again, not looking at Irisviel the woman held a still conflicted expression about leaving her child when the maids virtually pushed her through the door.
"I admit some amusement in your contradiction." Gilgamesh spoke with a still smug expression as he stared down at the girl, forcing her to dodge as he unleashed a barrage of weapons which decimated the living room and flew out a portion of the front of the building along with half the sofa "The original thoughts given life through a stolen fake?" he let out a boisterous laugh "Such a thing would make of a truly entertaining joke told by one of the most talented of jesters."
"My life isn't a joke you puffed up-grk!" She grunted as she held the twinblades in front of her in a block, a large hammer easily wide enough to be unable to fit through a doorway slammed into her, launching her backwards and into the next room, the girl flipped over the battering ram and landed back onto her feet as it continued on and blew out the side of the house. The sound of shattering ceramic indicated that the bathroom had been totalled.
"Fool." Gilgamesh snorted at her as if she were of the simple sort "All in this world exists to entertain me, that I find your existence amusing to even some degree if praise you are unworthy of." red eyes narrowed at her as she tensed her body "However it is all the more amusing to see the contradiction so desperately struggle."
"You aren't taking Onii-chan." Chloe declared with a small amount of killing intent, Gilgamesh's response was to raise a single eyebrow.
"I shall because I have commanded it be done." He spoke in such an arrogant tone that she almost believed him for a moment. The self-assurance of his own voice was quickly becoming annoying to her.
"Oh yeah?" Chloe smirked "Don't you know how rebellious children are?"
"Then I shall demonstrate how your parents should have never spared the rod." He snapped his fingers and launched another dozen spears at her. The girl jumped over the first few before narrowly avoiding an axe which would have taken her head. She swung her twin blades as fast as she could to parry the smaller weapons.
She wasn't as strong as Archer nor as skilled, but she was smaller than him. Which gave her a slight advantage over the Golden King. She raced past him and up the stairs, the blades attempted to cut her off but only succeed in decimating the staircase. That was fine, she wasn't going to use it anyway.
Once she managed to reach the top, she sprinted through the hallway before pushing herself off the floor with enough force to dent the wood inwards before she jumped towards the ceiling. Spinning her body around so she landed feet first and looked down, staring at the small crater as she held the twin blades in front of her in an 'X' shape before she kicked downwards.
Smashing straight through the floorboards and towards the living room at breakneck speeds which would have been near impossible for anyone to follow.
Gilgamesh was staring up at her as she broke through the floorboards and rocketed towards him, his expression was dismissive as he tracked her movements with ease. She caught a flash of gold as his arm swung up towards her. The back of his left hand collided with with side of her face and then her world went black.
"Mistress, you can't." Sella gripped Irisviel's shoulder tightly as the woman set Shirou down into Leysritt's arms and made to rush back into the house.
"Let go of me!" Irisviel spoke in a frantic tone of voice "I'm not leaving her-"
"If you go back in there you'll die!" Rin snapped at her "Chloe is giving us a chance to get away, now I for one would very much rather we take it." Irisviel glared at her.
"I am not going to use my daughter as a sacrifice-"
"Chloe isn't the type to sacrifice herself." Rin huffed, crossing her arms with a small scowl "I haven't known her that long but she's more like Archer, she'll retreat the moment she is able."
"But-"
"Dangerous." Leysritt spoke up, still holding the unconscious red head "If you get hurt. Shirou and Illya. Sad." that brought a halt to the woman's thoughts as she stared at her son and then back to the house just in time to see a spear blow through the roof of the building. The bounded field around the house was keeping the sounds contained as well as the subtle direction to ignore it.
"But…" Irisviel weakly countered "Chloe-"
"Would be very upset if we allowed you to rush back inside to die." Luvia retorted with a frown as she kicked the fence, breaking through with ease and turning back to the group "We should use this chance she is giving us to make haste and get away before-"
The wall facing the back garden, which they were currently in, exploded outwards as the limp body of Chloe helicoptered through the air before crashing face first on the ground. The sound of clanking still soon followed as the golden armour of Gilgamesh appeared in the gap, red eyes flicked over to them before they gleamed.
The Servant hopped down through the gap in the wall, taking several steps in their direction before halting. He frowned as he raised his left hand, there was a large smear of blood across the back of his gauntlet. The Servant dismissively opened up a portal and stuck his hand into it, soon pulling out a small silken cloth and rubbing away the bloodstain on his armour before depositing it back into his treasury.
"Now then." Gilgamesh turned to face them, pointedly ignoring Chloe on the ground, the small puddle of blood now growing around her head "The Thief." he snapped his fingers, opening up over a dozen golden portal behind him "Hand him over." he paused for a few moments before he added on "I only make this offer because he has some small use, I would rather not kill them when I execute you."
Irisviel stared at Chloe's body before her eyes gradually trailed over to Gilgamesh, the man stared at her blankly despite the raw anger which was radiating off her.
"You...bastard." She hissed at him, making it perfectly clear what her answer was to be. If anything, Gilgamesh looked more annoyed that the inconvenience that this would provide rather than the insult or spurning of his good will.
"Very well." He raised his hands into the air-
"W...w...wait…" A quiet voice croaked out.
Zouken reformed at the end of the yard, despite having his sneer on his face it was quickly becoming apparent that he was losing steam. His reformation had taken longer than usual and his supply of familiars was quickly running low.
However, that did not mean that he was completely helpless in that regard. Despite the impressive speed at which Kiritsugu and Kotomine had been dealing with the familiars, the pair were similarly showing signs of fatigue. Kiritsugu more so with his liberal use of his Time Alter in order to make up for his slower speed. The man was panting heavily as a result.
Kotomine was not much better, despite being the physically stronger of the two, his higher endurance had only bought him so much leeway. His right sleeve had a large tear in it with several bite marks along his hands and points of inflammation on the left side of his neck from repeated stings from wasp like insects. The Priest adjusted his stance and lowered his centre of gravity in order to prepare himself for another charge. His eyes briefly glanced over to Kiritsugu, subtly informing him of his intentions.
The Magus killer gave the tiniest of nods before he loaded his Calico, he withheld his grimace. It was his last magazine, after that he had one more flashbang and a knife. He doubted that the latter would be able to do him much good against an opponent like Zouken however. Although he supposed it was better than nothing.
He opened his jacket up slightly so as to give Kotomine a brief glance at the contents, the Priest caught sight of what he intended to reveal and nodded his head, turning his attention back on Zouken. Kotomine clenched his hands before opening them again and hooking his fingers into a grasping motion.
'Time Alter: Triple Accel!' Kiritsugu shouted in his head as the world slowed to a crawl, his heart felt as though it were about to explode in his chest with how fast it was beating. Despite that, he pushed himself forwards as his hand shot into his coat pocked and quickly withdrew the cylindrical shape of the flashbang. Zouken's eyes had only just begun to track onto his rapid movements before Kotomine charged forwards.
The ground beneath the priest cracked slightly as the power in his legs forced his body forwards at astonishing speeds. At least that was what Kiritsugu assumed, even with time accelerated for him Kotomine was still moving at an impressive speed. He clasped the ring at the top of the metal cylinder and ripped it free, throwing it up into the air towards Zouken as Kotomine continued his charge.
He turned away and deactivated his accelerated time. Zouken's attention was split between the two of them before noticing the stun grenade in the air. He attempted to break his body apart. However, repeatedly doing so over the course of the fight had left him slower than was preferable. Kotomine continued his charge as Zouken's body turned to familiars, however he had only just begun when the grenade went off.
Light filled Zouken's eyes, burning his old retinae and causing the old man to let out a gasp of surprise, which quickly turned to one of pain when Kotomine slammed into his chest at full force, very nearly knocking the man onto his back if his right hand hadn't clasped around the elderly magus head and lifted him into the air.
Spinning around, Kotomine hefted Zouken into the air before slamming him down into the ground with enough force to leave an indentation in the dirt.
Too late, Zouken realised what position he was in.
"Let me inform you." Kotomine spoke in a deep tone of voice, although there was a hint of satisfaction to be found within it as well as the smallest curling of his lip to indicate how happy he currently was. "I kill. I let live. I harm, and I heal." A barrier of light sprung forth around the pair as Zouken attempted to escape, far too late as the insects were vaporised the moment they made contact with the sacrament.
"None shall escape my grasp. None shall escape my sight." Kotomine continued on as Zouken's eyes narrowed with fury.
"D-damn you…" The old magus croaked out in pain as he felt his body begin to burn away.
"Be crushed. Those defeated, those grown old, I welcome you." Kiritsugu took a step backwards as the field expanded, the smell of burning insects was also incentive enough for him to not get too close to the exorcism "Devote yourself to me, learn from me, obey me and rest. Do not forget song, do not forget prayer and do not forget me."
Tightening his grip around Zouken's head, Kotomine lifted the old Magus until he was at eye height, the Sacrament having already burned away half of his familiars "I am light and shall relieve all your burdens."
"I-I see…" Zouken managed to growl out, his face morphing into a pained sneer "S-so you're going to kill me…"
"Solace is in my hands. I shall pour oil unto your sin and mark you. Only in death, will eternal life be given. Ask for forgiveness here. I, the reincarnation, shall swear." Kotomine locked eyes with Zouken, allowing the smirk to be fully visible on his face "Kyrie elesion." the light intensified, soon engulfing Zouken's entire form as he burned away with a mocking laugh.
As the brightness died down, only Kiritsugu and Kotomine were left standing in the yard. Surrounded by dead familiars.
"...The Church's involvement ends here." Kotomine turned to Kiritsugu "Once I have confirmed the condition of Matou Sakura, then myself and Sister Hortensia will depart."
Kiritsugu gave a tired nod before moving his hand to his earpiece "Maiya, were the Church nun and the Matou heir able to withdraw safely?"
"There was no sign of any further movement against them." Maiya replied into the earpiece "They were able to withdraw safely."
Kiritsugu nodded and then grimaced as he moved as best he could towards the exit of the yard "They both escaped."
Kotomine gave a hum in response as he moved towards the Matou household "This will need to be burned down."
"I can do that." The Priest looked over his shoulder to see Archer stood at the foot of the yard, leaning against the wall with a blank look on his face. "I assume Zouken is dead then."
Kiritsugu pursed his lips "...Illya?"
"Fine." Archer replied with a nod "We were successful. Depends if Rin wants to give the Sakura girl a proper check to ensure there is no lasting damage." he slowly looked over to Kotomine "I doubt she'd want you doing it."
"She wouldn't." Kotomine agreed easily "However, I am better accustomed at the healing arts than her." he went on, the argument made enough sense that Rin would have very little to counter it on other than her own dislike of the man. Which wouldn't account for much in the grand scheme of things as she'd begrudgingly allow him to help.
That was how Archer assumed it was going to pan out.
He quickly paused as he felt something through the mental link, distress filtered through it and caused his head to snap up immediately and turn towards the direction of the Einzbern house. Kiritsugu noticed his sudden shift and frowned, tensing himself as well "Archer?" he called out to the Servant "What's wrong?"
"It's Master." He replied with a noticeable edge in his voice "Something's wrong..."
Illya knew something was wrong when they got back, her heart felt like it stopped when she caught sight of the destruction before her. She wasn't even aware of anyone calling her name as she rushed towards the house.
She ignored the remains of the sofa strewn across the street as well as the shattered remains of the windows as walls which now decorated their entrance way. The living room was the worst, gash marks and dents were present in everything. It looked as though a tornado had blown through the house, her eyes trailed up to see a hole leading into the first floor with a stray piece of floorboard dangling from it.
"M-mama?" Illya weakly called out as she took tentative steps through the house "Sella?" she got no reply as she did, which only caused her to fell dizzy in response. "Liz?" still, no response.
As she progressed through the ruins of her home, she looked upon the dining area, or what was left of it. The divider between it and the kitchen was non-existent, it had been smashed to pieces along with the kitchen itself.
Miyu trailed in behind Illya, she could feel bile rise up in her throat. She knew that this had to have been the work of Gilgamesh. There was simply no other explanation. It also begged the question of why...unless he had come here looking for her. She hadn't been here, of course. She had been elsewhere dealing with Berserker, who, as if sensing her turbulent emotions, chose to attempt to manifest themselves. Miyu barely managed to fight back that impulse from him, although the Servant still responded with a rabid screaming in the back of her mind.
"Mama!" Illya cried out in despair as she became more frantic in her search, seeing the window door to the back garden smashed outwards, along with the wall as well. The girl flew out of the hole and into the open, the expression of relief she felt was soured when she noticed that Irisviel was cradling Chloe with tears streaming down her face. Illya's expression dropped as she rushed over to them.
Irisviel hadn't acknowledge Illya was even there until the girl was right on top of her, she relief was palpable as the woman stared up into the eyes of her daughter before looking back down at Chloe. Illya followed her gaze and bit back an ugly grimace at her twin. Chloe had quite the severe bruise on the right side of her face, her lip had been split and her nose was quite clearly broken. Despite that, Illya found small relief in seeing the subtle rise and fall of the girls chest indicating she was still alive.
The girl looked around to see that Rin, Luvia, Sella and Leysritt were in equally passable conditions, although they were all sporting looks from heartbreak in the case of the two maids, Leysritt herself was still staring at her hands with an expression of pure horror while Sella was slumped against the fence with a defeated look on her face. Rin and Luvia were pointedly avoiding looking in Illya's direction as they each sported troubled looks of their own. It was then she noticed something very important.
There was one person missing.
"M-mama?" Illya tentatively called out "Where's Onii-chan?"
Irisviel remained silent.
"Mama...where's Shirou?"
"...ne…"
"Eh?" Illya paused, not quite hearing what her mother had said and leaning down slightly "Where?"
"...gone." She answered, it was a voice scarcely above a whisper but for Illya it was as loud as a gunshot. Her expression froze in response, mouth slightly ajar as the words didn't quite register for her.
"G-gone?" She spoke back in a strained voice "Wh-what do you mean gone?" Irisviel winced "Where has he…"
"...He took him."
Illya didn't need to be told who he was.
"W...w...wait…" Shirou croaked out from Leysritt's arms, barely conscious. His weak protest had only just been audible to attract the attention of everyone else.
Irisviel turned to him with a briefly euphoric expression at seeing him conscious before it snapped back to Gilgamesh, who was paying attention to Shirou with a borderline accusatory glare.
"Wait?" The King parroted with a sneer "You dare attempt to command me, thief?"
"D-don't…" Shirou swallowed, the action was painful for him. He wasn't entirely aware of his surroundings as the entire thing had been a blur for him, all he knew was that someone important to him was going to die if he didn't do something. "H-hurt…"
"Ho?" Gilgamesh tilted his head "And why should I not?"
"I'll...go…"
"No!" Irisviel snapped at him before a rain of swords fell from the sky, isolating Shirou and Leysritt from the others.
"Why should I bother accepting this, Thief?" Gilgamesh asked, sounding far too amused by Shirou's attempt at bargaining. "The offer for your surrender is for these mongrels to accept, not you." he narrowed his eyes "Do not think you can bargain for their lives so easily."
Shirou's expression became pleading as he and the King stared at eachother, the boy fighting to keep his eyes open before he managed to utter out "P-please…" and then passed out in Leysritt's arms. Gilgamesh stared at his limp body for a few moments.
The silence seemed to stretch on for eternity before the sound of Gilgamesh's laughter cut through the tension, to some extent.
"Fwahahahaha!" Gilgamesh threw his head back, cradling his forehead with his right hand as he continued to laugh before it eventually died down "A brave criminal he is, to throw himself before the King's judgement." he mused, the smirk still on his face. "However, I shall laud this act. Rejoice, mongrels." Gilgamesh swept his arm towards them with a lazy wave "The Thief has decided to accept judgement for his crimes in exchange for your lives."
Before Irisviel could protest, a chain shot down from a portal above his head, the tip wrapped around his forearm and wretched him free of Leyritt's panicked grip, the force being more than enough to pull the woman over as she attempted to reach out to grab the boy.
"No!" Irisviel wailed as she made to rush over to him, only for yet more simply blades to bar her path. Gilgamesh didn't even deign her with a reply as Shirou's body hung limply behind him.
"Should you wish to reclaim this Thief." Gilgamesh mused "Tell the Vessel to travel to where it began. I may be inclined to spare his life if she offers her freely. However, I would not test a King's patience." he warned "Should she fail to appear before me by the sunset of the next day, then I shall peel the flesh from the Thief's bones."
He slowly floated into the air as Irisviel wailed into the sky in horror, once high enough a large portal opened up and deposited Vimana. The Golden King taking a seat upon the control throne and lazily dumping Shirou onto the hull as it shot off into the distance.
Leysritt still staring with wide eyes as her outstretched hand, the wails of Irisviel still sounding off in the background.
Illya slumped to the ground, Ruby very nearly slipped from her fingers and rolled across the grass. She was away to try and help someone and during that time her brother had been kidnapped.
There was a small cynical part of her brain that was pointing out that she barely knew Sakura and that if she had been here instead of away trying to save that girl, then perhaps her brother would be alright. Illya stomped down on that thought immediately. Her eyes burned with determination. Her grip instantly tightened around Ruby, earning a small squeak from the Kaleidostick as she slowly rose to her feet. There was only a single thought running through her mind.
One way or another, she was going to get her brother back and she wasn't going to let anyone else get hurt. Hero of Justice or not, she wouldn't let anyone else cry as long as she was around. Especially not her brother.
AN: Yeah...Gil kidnaps Shirou just to get to Miyu because he remembers Miyuverse. Anyway, as you can no doubt guess. This puts us into the final few Chapters of Arc 3. Which means, we'll soon be onto Miyuverse Shirou when the Ainsworths rock up.
But before that...we have a Gilgamesh to fight, don't we?
I did briefly consider have Sella and Leysritt killed but thought better of it. Why? Because this isn't Madoka Magicka. Also...well, I didn't want to make the Prismaverse too dark to be honest, or more dark than I have already made it.
So I had to find a way to get Gil to take Shirou while it still seeming like Gil as to why he doesn't kill anyone. I think I managed to make it sound not too forced but whatever. My Fic I'll kill who I want.
Which means bye bug man. Yep, you all got a Kirei/Kiritsugu teamup. Anyway...see you all next time!
