I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC

Hello guys, Badger here. I hope you are all well, as I know I am. Before we get started, I would just like to say hi to you, specifically those in the United States, because I looked through some stats earlier and saw that most of my viewers are from America, so hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the story. Now, onto something a bit more serious. I have read a few things, saying the something seems to be wrong with the site, meaning people are unable to either login, post a story, or write a review etc. I would ask if this is true, but seeing as I haven't had a review in a while, that seems to be the case. And no, this isn't me complaining that no one has left a review for some chapters. Its just something that I found when scrolling some forums and pages. If it is a server issue or whatever, I hope it is sorted soon, for a love hearing from you guys, whether that is feedback, story ideas or just a message saying hi and that you are enjoying what you are seeing, it makes me happy to see that I am making you happy.

Anyway, I have a slightly longer chapter for you all today. One that has been in development for a while and has had a couple of rewrites, but I think you will enjoy it. After finishing this chapter, I realised that its possible the Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely ending soon. If it doesn't end in the next chapter, then it will definitely sometime soon. I'm won't leave you waiting any longer. Sorry for the ramble at the beginning. Read on and I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 37

Happy memories and…Peter Pettigrew?

There was a noticeable smell of alcohol in the Divination classroom, as Professor Trelawney wondered around the classroom, starting the lesson. Each table had a glass ball and she was supposedly going to look inside them, to see if she can read anyone's future or fate. When she stated that she will start with Harry's table, Hermione had made a sarcastic comment, causing the Professor to turn to her.

"My dear, from the moment you first stepped into my classroom for your first lesson, I sensed that you did not possess the spirit for the noble art of Divination" she said "You may be young in years, but that heart of yours is a shrivelled as that of an old maids…your soul, as dry as the pages of the books you desperately cleave"

Hermione stares at the professor in shock, opening and closing her mouth a few times like a gaping fish, for once unable to speak a word. Eventually she picks up her things and storms out the classroom, slamming the door as she did so.

"Seems Granger couldn't handle the truth" Daphne whispered

"I'm not surprised, seeing as she sees herself as missus 'better-then-everyone-else'" James replied "What I am surprised by is someone being able to shut her up…someone that wasn't me"

"Was it something I said?" Trelawney asked "Never mind, onto the lesson…I shall start with Mr Potters table…I shall place my hands on the glass ball and see if I can see what lies ahead in any of their futures…"

The room was silent as Trelawney placed her hands on the glass ball, with Harry and James waiting to see what utter rubbish she will come up with this time. A small mist filled the room, and a small breeze scattered a few pages off the tables, as Trelawney opened her eyes and spoke, her voice noticeably deeper than.

"Mr Potter, he will return tonight!" She rasped "Tonight, when the clock strikes twelve, the servant shall break free! He and his master will try to reunite, though prevention is possible!"

Harry looked confused, he opened his mouth to respond, when Trelawney turned to James and continued speaking.

"You, Mr Badger, you may think you are the last, but you are not!" She droned "There is another, hidden away…waiting…they will return, when they do, you will be faced with a choice…a difficult choice…be warned, for death is coming…it is inevitable!"

At that moment, the mist disappeared and Trelawney recoiled slightly, pinching the bridge of her nose, until she looked up, to see James, Harry and Daphne looking at her in shock.

"Sorry" She said, her voice normal "Did you say something?"

The Trio shook their heads, causing Trelawney to move to the next table, though the rest of the class eyed both Trelawney as well as James and Harry warily, with everything the Professor said on their minds.

"Was that an actual reading of our future?" Harry asked, quietly "That didn't seem fake, like the others"

"I don't know" Daphne replied "But what did she mean…who is the 'servant' and 'his master'?"

"How should I know?" Harry shrugged "Maybe she…it…I don't know…but what did she mean about James…what does she mean by saying you aren't the only one?"

"My guess, someone in my family is still out there somewhere" James replied "But that isn't possible…everyone else is dead…though, if what she says is true, 'death is coming'"

"Yours?" Daphne asked, gripping the table, feeling angry, concerned and scared all at once

"Possibly, possibly not" James sighed "Whatever happens, I don't think I am going to like it"

From that moment on, the atmosphere between them were tense, as the lesson went on. Even after it ended, they carried a stressful silence, as they continued about their day.

That night, James and Harry were in the Defence Classroom, trying to get their Patronus spell to work. Once more, they had some success, but nothing that could stop a Dementor.

"No, no, no" Lupin said, when their next attempt failed "Whatever you are thinking, it isn't good enough…surely there has to be some memory that fills you up with joy"

"I can think of one" Harry replied, after a moment "Though, it isn't…happy. Well it is, but…its complicated"

"Good, use it" Lupin said "What about you James?"

"Yes…I have one" He replied "But…as happy as it makes me feel, it hurts just as much, when I think about it"

"Okay, then try it" Lupin nodded "Keep those memories at the front of your mind and try again"

Harry and James take a moment to let their memories sink into their very being, allowing the emotion to flow through them, before they raised their wands and yelled in unison:

"Expecto Patronum!"

To Harrys delight a silver shadow escapes both his, and James' wand. Harry watches as his shadow begins to take shape, twisting and turning, until a large, majestic silver stag, stands before him, running laps around the classroom. James' does the same, his silver shadow taking shape where, with a slight pop, a silver fox emerges, running between the desks, before running beside the Stag, as they ran around the classroom. Lupin can't help but laugh in delight and wonder, as he watches the animals run another lap, before they fade once more into mist.

"Well done!" He exclaimed happily "Very well done! I can't believe both of you produced a Corporeal Patronus…you especially, Harry, you have given your father a run for his money, which is saying something"

"I was thinking about him" Harry replied, surprising Lupin "And Mum too…seeing their faces…They're just talking to me… I don't even know if it's real but…it's the best I have…the happiest I have felt"

"They would have been proud Harry" Lupin gripped his shoulder, smiling at him, making Harry smile back "What about you James, what were you thinking about?"

"My…my sisters seventh birthday" James replied "We spent the whole day just…doing nothing…we ate cake, we told stories and went for walks around the nearby towns and villages…I bought her a miniature statue of a muggle witch from some anime that reminded me of her…when it was dark out, we spent the evening sat around a small fire, a cup of hot chocolate in hand, enjoying the peace and silence…its one of the last few moments of her life that makes me feel happy, which also stabs me with cold reality at the same time but…that moment…was the happiest moment of my life, spending time with my sister just doing…nothing"

"She sounds like she was a wonderful person James" Lupin smiled, comfortingly

"She was" James smiled back

"You two might want to start heading back" Lupin spoke, after a moment of silence "Its long past curfew…its almost midnight…well done, you did brilliantly, no need for future lessons but, keep practicing"

James and Harry nodded, before they left the classroom, where Harry pulled out the Marauders Map, looking through the pages, to see if anyone was out patrolling.

"All the teachers out on patrol seem to be on the upper floors" Harry replied "We'll get back to the Common Room no problem"

"Yeah, but Filch is nearby so we should…" James stopped when something caught his eye

"What is it?" Harry asked

"Seems we'll be able to get your revenge Harry" James replied, pointing to a page on the map

Harry followed where James was pointing, which made his eyes harden. The two immediatley set off down the Corridor in the opposite direction of the Slytherin Common Room.

This was it! Sneaking inside Hogwarts was easy, especially with the Dementors being moved away from the castle. Sirius Black smirked to himself as he approached the door to the Gryffindor Common Room. He was so close. All he had to do was make his way through and he will be able to kill him, finally, after all these years. All those years of waiting inside Azkaban, he could now get his revenge. He gripped his knife tighter, as the feeling of satisfaction flowed through him. However, just as he was a few feet away from the Common Room door, something hit him from behind, causing his whole world to turn black.

When Sirius came to, he found himself in a room he didn't recognise. It seemed to be a classroom, though the amount of dust and cobwebs told him it had long since been abandoned. He tried to move, only to find he had been tied to a chair.

"I wouldn't bother moving if I was you" A voice spoke "The ropes are magically charmed…they will never break or loosen up, no matter what you do"

Sirius looked up, to see two boys standing before him. One had bright purple hair, which reminded him of his cousin Tonks, and was looking at him with a sharp glare and felt strangely familiar to someone from his school days. Beside him was another boy, with raven black hair, as well as a pair of green eyes that he would know from anywhere.

"Harry, is that you?" He asked

"Yes, it's me traitor!" Harry spat "Seems your plan to kill me has failed!"

"No Harry, you have got it all wrong, please believe me!" Sirius cried

"Shut it!" Harry yelled, his wand snapping out is holster and into his hand "I know who you are! I know what you did…you can't say anything that will stop me from killing you!"

Harry raised his wand to Sirius, his eyes burning with rage. James took a step back. He chose not to get involved. He knew what Harry needed. He wasn't about to stop him. Sirius began begging for Harry to listen to him, but he was having none of it. The tip of his wand began to glow, a spell he had learnt, a brutal Heart Imploder, on the tip of his tongue. However, before he could do anything, the door slammed open, where Lupin rushed in and immediatley shot a disarming spell at Harry, causing his wand to go flying.

"Lupin, what the hell!" Harry yelled "How did you find us and why did you do that?"

"I told you, each Marauder had their own map" Lupin replied, holding up a map similar to Harry's "And I stopped you from killing Sirius"

"But why?" James asked "You heard what he had done!"

"That's where you are wrong" Lupin replied, holding up a rat

Before Harry or James could ask any questions, Lupin touched his wand to the rat, which immediatley transformed to a human, who immediatley fell to the floor with a dull thud.

"You may want to send a letter to the Minister" Lupin said "For I would like to introduce…Peter Pettigrew"

Harry and James watched as the, rather obese, small man looked up at them, looking shaky and timid. His suit was dirty and it seemed he had been a rat for quite some time, as he seemed to possess some rat like features, with whiskers instead of facial hair, his face wrinkled and thin and twisted, two rather long front teeth, sharp as a knife, a noses that was round like a rat, long greasy hair that looked more like fur and his finger nails were more like claws and were covered in thick dirt. Harry and James looked at each other, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

Oh boy, here we go. New chapter, new things to analyse.

First off, the starting section in the Divination classroom. Like many other moments in the story, were a last minute add in. Originally it started in the Defence Classroom, but I thought the Divination sequence would work nicely, with setting up future plot points. No doubt you already know what Trelawney was talking about regarding Harry, though mine has been tweaked a little bit. Though, what did she mean regarding James? Is he really going to die? If its possible for reviews to be posted, please feel free to leave a review with your ideas as to what she means. Anyone who gets it right will win a lollipop.

Now, we get onto the Defence Classroom, where the Patronuses are revealed. I kept Harry's the same, but it was easy choosing James' Patronus, seeing as Foxes are my favourite animal. Someone did say to give him a badger Patronus, as they thought it would be funny but, that was never going to happen. Plus, I thought James' happiest memory was bittersweet, in my own humble opinion. If you are a true HP fan like myself you are probably wondering what the Patronuses mean. Well, I forget where I found the information, but here are the definitions that I found:

Fox: The Fox are often associated with Cunning. Foxes are thought to be tricksters, leading the unsuspecting down a path of demise. The calculating fox can outwit its enemies with strategy and adaptability.

Stag: The Stag is a symbol of Strength, characterised for their inclination to heroism and nobility. Those who produce a Stag Patronus are confident in their capabilities and hold pride in their actions and beliefs. The Stags antlers can grow back when they fall off, which had made many traditions holding the animal as a symbol of life and regeneration.

Sounds pretty accurate to Harry and James I would say.

Then we come across the meeting with Sirius. Don't worry to those who thought I would actually make him a Death Eater. That was never going to happen. I do like this moment though, because we see even more of Harry's darker side showing, where he will become the cold and ruthless leader in future chapters. You have to agree: A Heart Imploder curse is pretty dark. Luckily Lupin stopped him before anything could happen. It may seem convenient, but Lupin has been looking through his own map, since Harry mentioned Pettigrew. He explained it in the canon story, and he will explain it in the next chapter. Also, I don't know why, but I like the idea of Pettigrew looking more rat-like, due to being in his animal form for such a long period of time. I don't know, maybe it is just me. What will happen next? You'll have to wait and see.

Before I leave, I need some help. I am on the fence on character deaths. Characters like Cedric are Fred are 100% safe from the chopping block. No harm will come to them. However, characters like Sirius, I am unsure of. I don't want to kill Sirius, but I have a few plot ideas, that require his death as an essential part to the plot itself. If its possible, leave a review, or PM me, to give me ideas, as right now I don't know what to do.

Badger out.
