I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC.

Hello guys, Badger here. Are you all well? I hope you are.

Today, I have another chapter for you that is on the longer side. Once more, there is a lot of action, which felt like the chapter is longer then it was when writing it. It is good to see people enjoyed the previous chapter and I'm sure you want to know what happens next and why James' uncle is on Voldemort's side. All will be explained in this chapter so I won't leave you wondering any longer. I hope you enjoy and I will see you at the end.

Chapter 55

Blood For Blood

The audience could believe what they saw. They were watching the Viewing Pensieve, when Harry and James grabbed the cup and ended up in the Graveyard. As soon as Barty Crouch Jr and the cloaked man appeared, Fudge immediatley ordered for the Aurors that were with him to find where they were and bring them back. Despite those Aurors best efforts, they were unable to find their location. All they could do was watch as Barty made a ritual, slicing off his hand and using Harry's blood to resurrect Voldemort. Fear spread through many, as they all thought he had been destroyed over ten years ago. As Dumbledore watched, he knew his plans were going to have to be sped up, Harry was going to need to be trained. He felt like kicking himself for not checking where the portkey would've taken the champion to touch it. Seeing Michael Badger, standing by Voldemort, was something he didn't expect to see and it wasn't a nice surprise either. Like his brother Malcolm, Michael was a gifted student, especially in DADA and Charms. He wasn't sure what had happened for Michael to turn to the dark, but it couldn't have been good.

"Good to see you again James" Michael smiled "Just look at you…all grown up"

James could only stare at his uncle in shock. The man was there at his birth and had visited him and his parents for a while, whilst they were in hiding. But eventually his visits stopped.

"I…I thought…you were dead" James said softly

"Many did" The smile on Michaels face turned cold

Voldemort and the other Death Eaters kept quiet as the two conversed. Voldemort smirked to himself. Michael wanted to talk to his nephew before anything else happened and the boy wasn't ready for what he was about to find out.

"I have kept watch on your performance during the Tournament" Michael said "Your parents would have been proud…I'm almost glad you got away, the two of them put up a good fight to make sure the House Elf took you to safety"

"What…what do you mean?" James asked, unsure on if he wanted to know, as Michael smirked at him

"They did everything they could, but their efforts proved fruitless" Michael replied, licking his lips, a satisfied look on his face "I was able to kill them in the end"

Time seemed to stop, as James' blood turned cold once more. His own uncle, his fathers brother, his own flesh and blood…killed his parents? He didn't want to believe it, but a small voice in the back of his head told him it was true. Ice seemed to pierce his heart, as the look on his face turned dark and murderous, as Voldemort let out a harsh laugh.

"It seems you have broke the boy, my friend" He smirked, the other Death Eaters laughing amongst themselves, before turning to Harry "I do apologise Harry, I don't want you to think we have forgotten about you…you probably have questions of your own"

Harry turned his head to look at Voldemort. He was worried about James. The look on his friends face made Harry know something was going to happen. He had some idea as to what was going through his head, but he was certain he wouldn't understand whatever pain he must be feeling. It was only after hearing his name, he kept his attention of the most feared Dark Lord in front of him.

"Extraordinary isn't it, what a few drops of blood can do Harry?" Voldemort asked, though it was obvious he wasn't looking for an answer, as he continued speaking, addressing everyone in the graveyard and anyone watching through the Pensieve "Thirteen years ago, when I went to kill the Potters, dear sweet Lily Potter begged for me to spare her son…upon doing so, she provided the ultimate protection, her love and sacrifice meant I could not harm you and my spell rebounded…I brought you here, as I believed her protection would still be flowing through your veins, meaning I wouldn't be able to touch you, even if I wanted to…but now, with your blood fused with mine, negates such protection so I can touch you now!"

As Voldemort spoke, he walked closer to Harry, until he was right in front of him. With the two being mere feet away from each other, Voldemort placed his finger against Harry's scar, causing a burning pain to shoot through his entire body and scream in pain. Voldemort laughed, as he let the pain linger for a few seconds longer, before letting go.

"However, I do not want you to die in such a manner" He said "I want to give you a chance…you and I will duel Potter and everyone will watch you die…am I right in guessing you wish to also duel your nephew Michael?"

"Oh yes, very much" Michael smiled, his wand flicking into his hand "I want to see his power for myself"

Voldemort nodded and, with a wave of his wand, removed the ropes that trapped the youngest champions. They flicked their wands into their hands, where James wasted no time and fired an organ liquefier at his uncle, who swatted the spell away, a cold smirk on his face. Harry meanwhile, barely had to react to a killing curse sent his way, that he narrowly avoided. The group of Death Eaters watched as Harry and James traded spells with Voldemort and Michael. Many were tempted to grab their wands and fire some spells of their own, but knew that their master wouldn't be best pleased if they got involved, so just stood there, hoping none of the spells hit them.

Harry knew simple stunning and disarming spells would be useless in a fight like this, so stuck to the spells James had taught him. Plus, this was Voldemort the most feared Dark Lord, the man responsible for the deaths of his parents and countless others. Death is what the man deserved. Avoiding another killing curse, Harry fired a bone crusher, followed by a cutting curse to Voldemort's neck, to which Voldemort swatted the first spell away and put up a shield to stop the cutting curse. Not giving Harry time to fire another spell, he fired a killing curse, and then a Cruciatus curse. Harry dodged the killing curse and dropped to the ground to avoid the Cruciatus curse, which flew over where his chest was a second earlier. Making sure to stay on the move, Harry immediatley jumped back up, conjuring a dagger and sending it flying at Voldemort, which was then followed by a bone crusher and then an eye gouging curse.

Voldemort easily banished the dagger and avoided the two curses, where the bone crusher hit one of the Death Eaters in the leg. He was surprised that the boy was lasting this long. No doubt Badger had given him some kind of training. The spells he was using gave more evidence to such a thing. Some of the spells Potter was using were considered dark and, if anything, he was pleased the Potter were using such spells. The old fool Dumbledore, in the war, believed everyone should just use stunners and disarming spells. Seemed Potter didn't share the same beliefs.

Meanwhile, Michael dodged the blood boiling curse and blocked the bone crusher that his nephew fired his way and responded with a cutting curse and then his own blood boiling curse. James dodged both spells, barely. The look in his eyes grew cold, as his uncle just smiled at him, before James fired a heart imploder as well as another organ liquefier. Usually, James was able to keep his thoughts and emotions in check but now, every fiber of his being was screaming at him, demanding that he kills the man in front of him. James didn't care if he was his uncle, the man killed his parents. He deserved death. After dodging a killing curse, James jabbed his wand forward, where bolts of lightning fired at Michael, who got burnt on the arm, as he tried to dodge.

"Oh, I do love family magic" Michael smiled "You've impressed me so far, dear nephew, but is that all you've got?"

Without giving James a chance to respond, Michael fired a cutting curse. Not being able to dodge, James conjured a slab of stone, which the curse impacted, shattering the stone to pieces. James then flicked his wand, sending all the jagged stone shards flying at his uncle. Smiling, Michael put up a shield, where all the shards of stone turned to dust upon coming into contact with the silvery projection, before Michael quickly followed with a cutting curse. James wasn't able to fully dodge in time and felt the curse nick his cheek, where he felt a burning pain run through his body. Touching two fingers to his cheek, gently, James saw a good amount of blood on his hand. His eyes blazed in anger and he quickly fired an eye gouger and bone crusher, ignoring the pain on the right hand side of his face.

Harry noticed the cutting curse hit James, but wasn't able to do anything about it, as he avoided another killing curse. Seeing James still standing and firing curses, filled him with relief, as Harry fired two bone crushers which were quickly followed by a heart imploder. Voldemort smirked, as he avoided each one.

"This is child's play Harry" He laughed, before firing three killing curses in a row

Eyes widening, Harry jumped out the way, and hid behind a large rock, where he saw each spell impact the ground. He was quickly joined by James, who ducked behind the rock, to take cover from lightning bolts that his uncle fired at him.

"Oh, don't hide Harry" Voldemort's voice rang "you are supposed to be a hero for the Wizarding World…come back out here and fight"

"Do you have any ideas?" Harry asked

"One, but its dangerous" James replied, taking a second to catch his breath "We just need to stall them long enough, until I can summon the cup, when I grab onto me, we should be sent back to the pitch"

"I hope you are right" Harry said

After taking another second to catch their breath, the two youngest champions, jumped back out from behind the rock and fired off curses at Voldemort and Michael. Though it was dangerous, the two of them would need to try and keep close to one another, so James can summon the cup. Narrowly avoiding a killing curse, Harry fired a bone crusher and then a cutting curse, before avoiding a torture curse. He went to fire another cutting curse, but was interrupted, when Voldemort fired a killing curse. Harry quickly avoided the curse, but it hit a grave stone next to him, which shattered upon impact, where little shards cut into Harry, digging into his skin. Harry hissed in pain, before firing a blasting hex. He hoped James summoned the cup soon. He was getting tired.

James fired a blood boiling curse at his uncle, before avoiding an eye gouger and a fire ball. Not wanting to give his uncle another chance, he fired an eye gouger and changed things up by firing a flame whip, which struck his uncle in the knee, but he powered through the pain and fired a Cruciatus curse. Ducking under the curse, James felt like he wouldn't be able to stall for long before summoning the cup. He was starting to feel exhausted and he would probably end up dead, before an opportunity rose for him to do so. He could only think of one way to get the cup. After avoiding a cutting curse, James immediatley pointed his wand in the air, where a high pitch ringing noise echoed across the graveyard, causing everyone to cover their ears. Not wasting any more time James summoned the cup and grabbed hold of Harry, where the two were teleported away, as soon as the cup touched his hand.

Once his senses came back to him, and he saw what just happened, Voldemort let out a roar of anger. He had hoped to kill Potter this evening, but once more, he failed. Still, the boy had power and he was looking forward to their next meeting. Michael, meanwhile, stared at the spot his nephew where his nephew was standing mere seconds ago, a smile on his face. Clever, if cheap, tactic to get away. He was happy with the power his nephew had, he could practically feel it. No doubt they will meet again, but next time, he won't be so lucky.

Chaos immediatley ensued, when Harry and James appeared back at the Quidditch Pitch, falling to their knees due to exhaustion. Several people rushed over to them, including Luna and Susan, who were worried sick, as they watched everything happen on the Viewing Pensieve. Neither Harry or James said anything, they just held onto their partners, taking comfort from their embrace.

"Harry!" Sirius exclaimed, as he rushed over, Remus not far behind him "Are you okay!"

"I'm…I'm fine" Harry replied, as he gave his godfather a hug "Just exhausted"

"I can't believe this" Cornelius muttered to himself, before he looked to Dumbledore "You and I need to have a chat Dumbledore…you are the one who told the Wizarding World that You-Know-Who was dead and everyone here just witnessed his return"

"Fair enough" Dumbledore sighed "Severus, would you take Mr Potter and Mr Badger to the medical wing"

Snape nodded and helped the two youngest champions stand where, after giving Susan and Luna another quick hug, they left the Quidditch Pitch, not noticing the smiles Nott and Malfoy had on their faces. Dumbledore watched them leave, a worried look on his face. He wasn't happy with the amount of dark spells Harry used in his fight with Voldemort. James he could understand, but it seems he was a bad influence on Harry. Bone crushers, eye gougers and heart imploders, it was unnecessary. Couldn't the boy see that simple stunners and disarming spells were more then enough? When he had the boy trained, he hoped he could stop Harry from using such spells.

Snape stood off to the side, as Madam Pomfrey looked over Harry and James, healing up any injuries they sustained. He rubbed his left arm, as he thought about what he saw in the Viewing Pensieve. It wouldn't be long until he had to act as a spy again. What worried him however, was Harry. If the boy found out why Voldemort went after his parents, he would be out for blood. He stopped his thoughts, when he saw Madame Pomfrey approach.

"How are they?" He asked

"Harry only had minor cuts on his body, due to small shards of stone which were easy to heal" Pomfrey replied "James however, had a deep gash on his cheek…I'm not sure what spell was used, but it was dark enough to prevent any proper healing, I've stitched up the wound, but it will leave a scar…besides that, the two are physically fine, though they are both experiencing some magical exhaustion, so they will have to spend the night here, to rest"

Though Snape had watched the duels in the Viewing Pensieve, he was still surprised that was all the injuries the two youngest champions had received. He expected much worse.

Harry sat on his bed, rubbing his eyes as he could feel sleep trying to take over. He looked over at James, who lay on his bed next to Harry's. He was quiet, staring at the ceiling, the murderous gleam in his eyes still present. It was worrying Harry.

"James…do you want to talk about it?" He asked

"I don't think words will help me Harry" James replied, his voice cold and monotone "I just found out that my uncle, a man I believed to be dead, murdered my parents, his brother and sister-in-law…all I want is to see the man dead"

Harry winced, at James' tone. This reminded him, of when he found out about Sirius, when he was still believed to be the one to betray his parents to Voldemort. The only difference is, Harry wasn't sure what to say, to make things better.

"Just promise me one thing Harry" James said, turning to face Harry "Leave my uncle alone…he is mine…when he dies, I want to be the one to hold the wand that kills him!"

Oh boy, seems the flames won't be dying down anytime soon. What did you guys think?

I've been looking forward to this chapter, because this chapter sets up, no only Harry's story arc, but also James' story arc for the rest of the fanfic: Whilst Harry trains to defeat Voldemort, James trains to kill the man who he once considered his family. There will be moments in the next few chapters that focus on James to set up more of his story arc. James also now has a scar, which was a late edition to the chapter, think of Inigo Montoya, except James only has one instead of two.

When writing drafts for this chapter, originally I planned to kill off James in the graveyard...I'm just kidding, I wouldn't do that. People seem to love the character. Though it would've been a massive shock if I did do that wouldn't it. This is a perfect time for:

Question of the chapter - If James was killed in the graveyard, how do you think the rest of the story would have played out? Let me know in the review section.

These 'question of the chapters' will be frequent things that pop up, though I don't know if they will be in every chapter. These will be there, so you can get more involved with the story, as I enjoy it when you give ideas or have your own theories for the story.

Anyway, with Voldemort's return, Michael looking to kill his own nephew and Dumbledore not liking Harry's use of dark spells, what will happen next? You'll have to find out next time.

Badger out.
