I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC

Hello guys, Badger here. Though I'm sure you know that by now. I'm glad you lot enjoyed the previous chapter. I hope you did anyway. A new chapter! This one is slightly longer then a few others and I think you will like what you are about to see. For this chapter, we both have a mix of canon with a smidgen of AU and I hope you enjoy. See you at the end.

Chapter 64

Occlumency lessons with Snape

Michael rolled his eyes at the predicament before him. After much waiting, they found there were no time periods where the prophecy was unguarded, so they decided to act. Michael immediately killed the man, Sturgis Podmore, with an Organ Liquefier, whilst the snake Nagini, was taking care of the Arthur Weasley. However when one of the Death Eaters, accompanying him, touched the prophecy, he writhed on the ground in absolute agony. Michael wasted no time, in taking the Death Eater out with a quick Killing Curse. Voldemort will need to be informed about this. Moving away from the prophecy, he recalled Nagini and the other Death Eaters, where they apparated away.

Harry rolled around, as he tried to sleep, but was struggling. His head was pounding, sweat falling down his brow, as he saw a red haired man being attacked by a snake. He then woke up, violently, which promptly woke up James.

"Harry, what is it?" He asked, casting a Lumos

"I…I…saw someone being attacked" Harry replied, wiping away the sweat "I…I don't think it was a dream"

"Who was being attacked?" James asked, now kneeling in front of him

"I don't know" Harry said "But, he had thinning red hair and glasses"

"Sounds like Mr Weasley" James said, worried

Harry wasn't able to respond, as James grabbed his arm and drug him out the Common Room, rushing towards the Potions Classroom, knocking wildly on the door. After a few seconds, the door opened to reveal Professor Snape, who didn't look happy about being woken up.

"Mr Badger, Mr Potter" He drawled "What reason do you have for waking me up, at this hour?"

"It's Mr Weasley" James replied "Harry had a vision of him being attacked"

Snape's eyes widened. He summoned a Patronus, giving it an order to go to Amelia Bones and tell her to come to Dumbledore's office, before he told them to follow him where they rushed towards the Headmaster. Dumbledore was sat at his desk, looking through some papers, when they burst in.

"Severus, what is the matter?" He asked, noticing their panicked looks

"Mr Potter has had a vision of Arthur Weasley being attacked Albus" Severus replied

"What?" Dumbledore exclaimed "Harry, tell me everything"

Normally, Harry would be reluctant to talk to the Headmaster, due to his distrust towards the old man, but considering what he's seen, he can make an exception.

"I…I saw Mr Weasley in some corridor, surrounded by shelves containing glass balls" Harry replied "There was a snake…it pounced on him…striking him over and over..."

"This vision" Dumbledore said "Were you seeing this from afar, or looking down at the event"

"N-neither" Harry replied, after a moment "It…it was like…I was doing it…what is happening to me?"

Dumbledore looked at Harry, seemingly hesitant when the fireplace flared up and Amelia Bones stepped through.

"Amelia" Dumbledore said "What brings you here?"

"Severus Snape sent me a messenger, told me to come here" She replied "Apparently it was urgent"

"It is Amelia" Dumbledore sighed "Arthur Weasley has been attacked in the Department of Mysteries, we need to send an immediate rescue and treatment for any injuries sustained…also, you should check up on Sturgis Podmore, he was on patrol with Arthur"

"I'll see to it immediatley" Amelia replied, heading back through the floo

"Professor Dumbledore…what is happening?" Harry asked

"Don't worry about it Harry" Dumbledore said, dismissively, not even looking at Harry as he paced, annoying the young man in question

"You think Voldemort is behind the attack, Albus?" Severus asked

"It seems so" Dumbledore sighed

"Sir…" Harry spoke up

"Security will have to be increased" Dumbledore continued, not even paying attention to Harry, making Harry more annoyed "If he is after it, action will need to be taken, we should hold an emergency Order meeting tomorrow night"

The fireplace flared up again and Amelia stepped through a second later.

"Arthur Weasley is fine, he will need medical treatment however" She said "But I'm afraid Podmore has been killed"

"Sir, what…"

"Not now Harry" Dumbledore dismissed, once more not even looking his way "That is bad news Amelia, bad news indeed…"

Anger flared up in Harry, from being ignored constantly. His eyes darkened, as something seemed to snap inside of him.

"LOOK AT ME!" He yelled, his voice dark which echoed across the office

The intensity of his voice shook the entire room, shattering a few windows. Ornaments and book shelves continued to rattle and rock back and forth, even when the room stopped shaking. Harry's eyes were dark and glowing a dull, ominous green. Snape and Amelia looked at Harry in shock. James, meanwhile, looked at Harry in a mix of shock, but mainly awe. Dumbledore however, looked at Harry in fear, as if he was seeing something the others didn't. Harry panted heavily, as he kept his gaze on Dumbledore, hands clenched into fists, his knuckles turning white.

"What is happening to me?" He demanded "Why did I see the attack…I know, you know something, so don't bullshit me!"

Dumbledore looked at Harry for a moment, the twinkle in his eyes gone, before he sighed, looking older then he already was.

"Fair enough Harry" He said "I would guess that you and Voldemort share a connection of some kind…a telepathic link…it would seem he sent the images to you…that is if he knows about the link…I hoped to start these lessons later, but I want Severus to teach you Occlumency, to hopefully stop this happening again"

"Why Professor Snape?" Harry asked "I mean, I don't doubt or distrust him, but why not Sirius?"

"Not only is Severus a Master in both Occlumency and Legilimency, but he is also a spy for the Order" Dumbledore replied "I hoped to tell you in better circumstances, Severus, perhaps now would be a good time to start the first lesson"

"Of course Albus" Severus nodded, leading Harry and James out of the room

As they left Dumbledore watched them leave, looking a little worried. He closed his eyes, hoping history won't repeat itself. He couldn't have another Riddle on his hands. Amelia also looked worried. She had known Harry for a while and she had never seen him act in the way he did just a moment ago. She was going to have to tell Sirius about this.

Harry found himself sitting in a chair, in the potions classroom. His hair and shirt stuck to his skin, due to the sweat. Snape had his back turned to him, as he took off his cloak and threw it to one side, pulling out his wand.

"So, Sirius has already taught you some Occlumency?" He asked, turning back to Harry

"Y-yes…he has taught me the basics of defending ones mind" Harry replied, remembering the few lessons they had

"Did he not teach you to clear your mind?" Snape asked, raising an eyebrow

"No" Harry looked down

"Typical" Snape muttered "Look Harry, Occlumency is more then just defending your mind, it is also about emptying your mind, clearing all thoughts and emotions, organising your memories, reliving them, to get over the emotion, should anyone try to invade with Legilimency…and he will…should the Dark Lord discover your link with him, he will penetrate your mind with ease, seeing all your memories and also making you relive your worst memories, influencing your emotions…with Occlumency, not only will you be able to protect your mind, but also learn to overcome any emotion you may feel, experiencing such memories once again…do you understand?"

Harry nodded.

"Sir" James spoke up, having remained quiet the whole time "Forgive me for asking, but why bring me here?"

"You have Natural Barriers do you not?" Snape asked

"Yes sir" James nodded

"Am I right in guessing you also know some Occlumency, should anyone get through those barriers?" Snape asked

"Only the basics sir" James replied "Just enough to protect myself at least"

"Good, I have you here, as I feel like Harry seeing another's mind fully protected will help him with these lessons" Snape smiled "Of course, we won't get to that just yet…I want to test Harry first…are you ready Harry?"

"Ready sir" Harry nodded

Snape nodded, pointing his wand at Harry. Nothing happened for a moment, before Harry felt a blinding pain in the back of his head, as his eyes glazed over, vision going cloudy. Everything seemed to spin, making him feel nauseous. After a few moments, he saw moments of his pass happen before him: his relationship with Susan, clearing Sirius' name, the Basilisk, the Troll, meeting James, abuse at the Dursleys and then…seeing the death of his mother.

"STOP!" Harry yelled out, once more shaking the room

A wave of unseen magic sent both Snape and James flying to the fall, along with several potion vials, which smashed on the floor. Harry slumped in his chair, panting heavily, as the room stilled once more. Snape stood up slowly, looking at Harry in concern, whilst James rubbed the back of his head, wincing slightly.

"W-what…what was that?" Harry asked, voice hoarse

"I told you Harry, those learning Occlumency need to overcome every emotion you may feel" Snape replied "Your response to seeing some of your worse memories is concerning…anyone could influence and take control of you with such reactions…we can't have that happening…however, we will need to start off small…for our sakes if nothing else…also, if anymore of my potions break and spill, I will have to charge you for any damages"

And there we have it. New chapter done. What did you guys think?

While Mr Weasley's attack may seem like me just using another moment in canon, this will actually be a pivotal moment between a few different characters later on. I'll let you think about who those may be.

The moment in Dumbledore's office when Harry lashed out was always one of my favourites in the movie. I wish it happened more often. Because of this, I had to include it here, with a few small twists on it. We also have had a small taste of Harry's transformation with his moments of lashing out, with his screams shaking the room. This is just the beginning of the character I hope for him to become, though a few more moments need to happen first. In the meantime, what did you think about this moment, and what do you think it means for the rest of the story? Should Dumbledore be worried?

We then end the chapter with Snape's first Occlumency lesson, which is a great way to lead into:

QUESTION OF THE CHAPTER - Sooner or later, Voldemort is most likely going to learn of the link between himself and Harry and will order Snape to weaken Harry's defences, do you think Snape will do as he has been ordered, or will he go against the Dark Lords command? (Let me know down below)

That is all for now. I hope you enjoyed and I will see you in the next one.

Badger out.
