A/n: ME NO OWN YOU NO SUE!

Kagome'sPOV

'It was only one night…I mean what could happen?' I told myself these words as I lowered myself out of my bedroom window and onto the cold, hard ground. He wasn't expecting me. I knew that for certain. I slung my yellow pack over my shoulder and clung to my bow and arrows against my chest.

It was in the dead of summer and yet the night were still as cold as ever. I shivered as the wind blew my hair around my face. I tip-toed to the wooden shack that held my destiny, the well that transported me back and forth through the feudal era.

I jumped through and the blue and black light surrounded my entire body. I was now crouched down to the ground still clutching to my things. I climbed out and looked up to the sky. It was so peaceful here and you could see the stars so clearly out here…it was beautiful. I loved it here.

"Hey, what are you doing back here so…late?" InuYasha spoke up. He had been watching her since she emerged from the well. He could smell her as soon as she had entered the feudal era.

"Gods, you scared me." Kagome turned and stared into his gold eyes.

"Sorry…I would never mean to scare you. You know that." InuYasha grabbed her pack and led her through the woods towards Kaede's village.

"Thank you, Inu." Kagome had given him a pet name while they were on their travels. It was much easier to say his pet name. He didn't answer her but continued to walk to the village. Kagome rushed up beside him and linked her arm around his.

"We're here" InuYasha said. Their arms were still linked together as they walked into a nearby hut. Kagome glanced down at her wristwatch. It's 10:54...I really need to go to bed. But I can't sleep when he's on my mind…

They walked in to see no one inside the hut. Kagome had become accustomed to seeing the cute kitsune jumping in her arms and the Miroku and Sango greeting her. She wondered at this and eventually ventured her thoughts out to InuYasha.

"Where is everyone?" she asked. InuYasha set her bag down and began to prepare the fire before he answered her.

"Sango and the monk have gone to hunt down a demon in one of the villages and as for the brat, he and the old hag have gone to heal one of the villagers. All of them said as I should stay and wait for you." he added the last sentence in haste and threw another stick in to the now crackling fire.

"Oh," Kagome sat next to him. It was freezing still and she clutched her knees to her chest as she sat down next to him. She silently gazed at his features. I wonder what he's thinking about A slight shiver went up her spine and she knew she had shaken a bit and would soon draw his attention.

"You cold?" he pulled her into his arms and let her scent wash over him. Kagome felt his body heat and self-consciously snuggled up to him. He liked to be so close to her but he knew if any demon got the whiff of him and Kagome becoming mates they would surely come after her and kill her. The thought sent his thoughts reeling back to Kikyo. It was so hard to watch it over and over as it played in his head as she pointed the arrow at his face and let go. Then he awoke to Kagome's beautiful face.

He shook the memory and turned his attention back to Kagome. She had fallen asleep on his arm. Her beautiful chocolate eyes closed to the world around them. The windows to her soul, closed off to him. He watched her chest heave with every breath and her scent grew more intense with every second he was close to her.

The fire continued to crackle and be the only thing to make any sound as the hanyou slowly drifted to sleep with the beautiful maiden cradled in his arms.
