The rest of the kids were relaxing while Kion was having some fun with Kiara at her secret place, wherever they think it is. While relaxing, Ono had a mildly bored look on his face, and he said: "anyone wanna know how Kion met me?" then he sang; "it's a page-turner." the rest of the kids didn't really say no but didn't reply for a few seconds.

"Yeah, if it is interesting as you sat it is, sure." said Fuli. "But it can't be as exciting as my backstory."

"Ho ho ho, we'll see about that, snarky." Ono smirked. "Anyway, he was a cub when he met me and I was learning how to fly."

Flashback

Ono was losing his baby feathers and starting to earn his more mature plumage, but he still couldn't fly well back then. Other than that, he was happy and eating some parasites off of a buffalo calf. "Hmm, yummy." he said.

"Thanks Ono," said the calf. "Those flies were getting on my nerves, and justbwjen I was going to snap."

"No problem Bizingi, happy to help you out with your big problem." he continued eating insects and parasites that were bothering the calf.

"Oh yeah, that's much better." the young calf remarked in relief.

"I might not be an oxpecker, but I am trying my best." then he continued picking off and eating some ticks with his beak. As soon as he was all done, he was still feeling hungry, and went on to a buffalo bull with his right horn chipped off. Possibly from a fight with another male.

The bull was having a good time having all the bugs and ticks removed from his tough skin like the calf was. And he was just grazing away without a car in the world. It went on for about an hour because the bull was gigantic and bulkier than a puny calf that would be out here in the grass.

He went back to his nest, for his parents were out hunting for more food and won't be back for probably... another hour, or somewhere around an hour. It was a good thing that it was near a riverbed, otherwise, it wouldn't be a good place to live at, because egrets, like most herons, are water birds.

He rested and saw a bunch of ducks and Egyptian geese taking a swim in the river, and it were heartwarming to see all the ducklings and goslings following their parents to be safe from any predator.

While resting on the nest, Ono then saw a rather slightly young Mzingo perching on a branch within a lonely tree. "Hmm, that vulture doesn't look like someone you wouldn't want to hang out." Ono said to himself, using his very keen eyesight to have a look at the vulture.

"Hmm, I wonder what kind if pathetic creature I will kill today, just die the sun of it?" said Mzingo. Ono gasped, and he thought right about that vulture up to no good.

He didn't want any small animal to be a poor, unfortunate victim of this brute. No, he got off nest, and he swooped towards Mzingo with full zeal. The wicked vulture felt Ono hit against his chest and almost fell to the ground, but he caught himself.

"Trying to kill an innocent animal?" Ono shouted. "What do you think you are?!"

"An expert hunter, chap." Mzingo replied. "And that is really none of your business. I'll show you what a true flyer is all about."

He zooped at him, but Ono dodged the first strike, but he felt Mzingo claw his right wing, and it made Ono scream in pain as he was plummeting towards his impending death. He thought it was almost over, but something caught him. It was Kion when he was younger. Turns out; Kikn gentry caught the egret with his paws like a bed or a trampoline. "I got you" he said.

"Wow. Thanks." Ono said in amazement.

"No problem." Kion looked at Mzingo again and he was angry at him. "You won't get away with this, Mzingo! " he shouted from below.

"Ah, the king's son." Mzingo said in amusement while flapping his wings in midair. "What a pleasant surprise."

"You leave him alone! Just get out of here before I get my dad here, he'll eat you alive! Literally!"

"Well, I suppose I can humor you. Very well but the next time we meet, you will not he so lucky!" the wicked vulture flew off in the Sapphire sky, and the two kids were alone.

"Thanks Kion," said younger Ono. "I would have been his lunch if not for you."

"How do you know- oh right, Rafiki showing me to all the animals."

"Yeah, you guys are famous. Name's Ono, and I thank you for saving my life."

"You're welcome Ono.

"Want to be friends?"

"Sure! I'm feeling a little lonely right now. I can't wait to hang out with you some more!"

End of Flashback

"And that's how he me met me." Ono boldly said. The others sounded a little impressed and that was quite a story to tell to anyone interesting in hearing one. "See? I told you it was epic."

"True. Well, I guess that leads up to me for last." Beshte said. "When I met Kion, I was about a little smaller than I was right now, but i'm bigger than most babies."

Beshte's Flashback

Young Beshte was relaxing with his pod, and everything was at peace for everyone in this riverbed. Basi, being the leader of this group of hippos was relaxing in the cooling waters on this usual, hot day in the savanna. It was a perfect way for an animal to cool off, take a nice, refreshing dip in a lake or a river to not have heatstroke or hyperthermia.

While bathing, Beshte heard a few voices laughing like they were playing, and he peaked over a bunch of cattails and he saw Kion playing with Kovu, like the big brother Kion always wanted in his life.

"Come on, Kovu! No fair!" Younger Kion said whild being mercilessly being tickled by the future king.

"Of course it's fair, Kion." said Kovu. "I'm bigger than you."

"Excuse me?" Beshte said, peeping his body out of the cattails. "I was just swimming and I heard the commotion out here."

"Oh, sorry kid." said Kovu. "We didn't mean to bother you."

"No no no, it's fine, I was just curious. Name's Beshte."

"And I'm Kion." said the lion cub.

"Ah, I know who you are. You guys are famous." Beshte remarked.

"Heh. That makes sense, nice to meet you, Beshte." Kovu said. "Guess you know my mame?"

"Yeah Kovu. My dad is close to the king."

"Nice. Wanna play with me?"

"Sure Kion. I like you." Beshte replied. Both the children began playing together and Kovu watched on as they were both having a blast. It made him smile to see the cub happy as much as he loved seeing Kiara happy.

End of Flashback

"Heh. That's nice." said Bunga. "And I'm glad we met Kion. None of this would have been possible without him."

"Whenever something bad happens, we can always count on him." Fuli added.
