They made it to the fifth floor by elevator and found room 509.
Before they even got closer to it, they heard crashing and banging sounds, including screams.
"There's a woman trapped in there!" Ray became worried; he never liked when a human was being terrorized by the paranormal, for he knew all too well what could happen under certain circumstances.
They ran to the door, and Ray tried opening it.
"Uh, Ray," Peter started. "This is a hotel. You need a keycard to get in."
Ray brushed his hand through his hair in a worried manner. "Right, I wasn't thinking about that. But we don't have time to go back down and get a card."
"We could use these," Egon suggested, indicating to the Proton Packs.
"Well, that is easier than breaking our shoulders or ankles," Peter agreed.
The three got out of Egon's way as he set his particle thrower to the lowest setting and fired it at the door's electronic lock.
The door flew open, and the Ghostbusters ran inside just in time to see the male apparition pick up a desk and aim it at the woman. She was crouched down, so all the Ghostbusters could see was a head of dirty-blond hair.
"Hey!" Peter yelled out to the ghost. "Don't you have any respect for women?"
"We gotta get the ghost to drop that desk before she becomes a ghost herself!" Stantz said with worry still present in his voice as he noticed blood and bruises on her. "Pete! Winston! Set your throwers on medium and blast that table. Egon, try capturing the spirit. I'll roll out the trap once you two take care of the table."
Everyone did as he said, but before he got even a chance to open the trap, the entity, without touching the female, picked her up off the floor and flung her at the glass door of the balcony.
She screamed as she was hurled and went silent as soon as she hit the glass.
Ray stopped what he was doing and ran as fast as possible to catch her before she plummeted to her death.
He caught her by the ankle with one hand while he held the railing with the other so he would not fall forward himself.
Because Ray left without getting a chance to open the trap for his friends, Peter, who was closest to him at the time, hit the foot pedal, and the ghost was finally caught and no longer a threat.
Ray was struggling with keeping his grip on the woman. "Guys! I need some help pulling her up!"
Winston and Egon ran over to help him. Once they got her to safety, Ray held her in his arms, the woman still unconscious.
"We need to get her to a hospital," Stantz said, concerned about the condition she was in.
The four hastily put their Proton Packs and other gear into the back of their car. Ray had to hand the woman over to Winston while Egon helped remove the pack from his shoulders. Peter took the driver's seat while Ray sat shotgun with the woman between them leaning against Ray.
Ecto-1 was now speeding down the road toward the direction of the hospital with its siren blaring.
When the Ghostbusters walked into the hospital, everyone there stared in disbelief at them.
"No worries, folks!" Peter announced. "We're just here to drop off this young woman who got attacked by one of the ghosts we caught!"
Three doctors ran up to them; two brought up a stretcher for Ray to set her on.
"What exactly happened to her?" one of the female doctors asked, seeing cuts and bruises on their new arrival.
Egon spoke up this time. "She was attacked by an entity who was occupying her hotel room. She had things thrown at her and then thrown at the glass door of her balcony."
"My god! What level was she on?"
Ray was the one to answer that question. "She was on the fifth floor, but I caught her just in time."
"Wow! That must be some good reflexes you have there…." She looked down at his nametag stitched into his jumpsuit. "…Mr. Stantz."
He smiled with a little shrug." Dr. Stantz, actually," he then corrected. The other doctors were already taking their new patient to the emergency room. Ray watched as they took her into an elevator.
"Oh, my apologies, Dr. Stantz."
"It's alright," he smiled. Then he asked, "Would it be alright if either of us were to come and visit to see how she was doing?"
"Of course," the doctor smiled.
