Reirei, Goigoi, and her family were looking for the Emela-Ntouka to prove to Janja that there is nothing to be afraid of, and wanting to rub it in his and cronies faces. It took a little while, and ultimately, while searching, they found Kion, who was just drinking water from a nearby waterhole, and he looked like easy prey to be ambushed, given the fact that the leader of the Lion Guard was one of their greatest enemies ever.
"Hmmmmmm, hey family, we have ourselves a live one here." Reirei said in a sing-song voice. She pointed everyone to where Kion was, who was still drinking as much water as he needed, and having no idea that he was being watched by these band of jackals.
"Oooooh. It's Kion." Goigoi said. "He's alone with no one else with him." he looked ready to maul Kikn to shreds with his teeth and claws like a big piece of juicy meat, ripe for the picking. He was licking his lips, and ready to kill and eat Kion. "Come on honey, let's get him."
"What about the Emela thingy?" Asked one of the pups.
"Ah, Kion will always be our top priority, sweetie." Reirei replied to her. "Now come on, it's the perfect moment to kill that stupid lion cub for always meddling in our plans we can do something Janja and his lackeys have never succeeded in doing before." She had an evil smile on her dog-like face.
The pups and the daddy agreed with the matriarch, and they calmly, yet quietly walked up to Kion and waited for the perfect moment to jump and ultimately kill him. When they were close enough to him, it was just then Kion was done, and turned around, suddenly bumping into Goigoi.
He gasped, recognizing who they were instantly. "Reirei! Goigoi!" He growled, getting ready for a fight.
"Kion, we meet again." said Reirei. "Going somewhere?" She had a smug look. "Heh, not where I'm standing."
The pups surrounded Kion so he couldn't get away. Kion looked around him, and he was completely surrounded by enemies, even though they were kids. "Just stand down. You don't want to do this." he tried reasoning with this dysfunctional family.
"Oh, but we do, squirt." Goigoi remarked. "You've always been a thorn on our side, Kion. And I know what thorns feel like."
"What he means is: now that you are all alone, I think this is a perfect opportunity to..." in a more sinister voice, Reirei concluded with her eyes narrowed, "finish you off." Her teeth were baring, and she looked more ready to kill him than ever. "Oh, don't worry, I'll kill you quickly. Because I want to just eat you."
"Reirei, don't make me use the Roar of the Elders on you." Kion warned flatly. "I used it on you guys before, I can use it on you again."
"Go ahead and do it for all we care." Reirei said in spite. "You're little magical roar doesn't scare us."
"Well, it does scare me a little."
"Goigoi!" his mate scolded at him. "Come on, he's just a cub pretending to be his uncle."
"I am nothing like Scar!"
"Leave him alone!" said a firm, low voice. The jackals looked and their hearts dropped to their feet, looking at an Emela-Ntouka for the first time. "So you are Reirei and Goigoi, and the young pups if this troublesome jackal family?"
Reirei didn't know exactly what to say, for she was too scared to even say a word to this animal. Ultimately, she saod: "what... what in the name of dead elephants are you?"
"My name is Adewale, an Emela-Ntouka."
The whole jackal family knew that they had no right to make fun of Janja and his friends after all. Adewale looked very intimidating, and the opposite of someone an animal would dare try and cross.
"You cause quite a lot of trouble here in the Pride Lands from what Kion told me."
"Please don't hurt me!" Goigoi yelped, trembling with fear.
"And- and- don't hurt our babies!" Reirei said, sounding just as scared as her mate.
"Leave now," said Adewale firmly. "Leave and never return."
The two adult jackals, and their pups then ran away and began yelping like crazy as if they have seen a demon or a ghost. Kion laughed at that rather humiliating defeat that his enemies had experienced, and Adewale followed after him. "Nice one, Adewale." Kion said.
"Thank you. Those jackals certainly did seem like trouble. Do you think they will ever return?"
"I think they will," said Kion. "Reirei is a very crafty and clever Jackal. She and her family will be back one of these days. Still, by the looks of their faces, they might not come back for quite a long time. Besides, they are nothing compared to the Lion's Bane. Those guys are my real problem." he looked away. "I don't know how much longer we can keep this up."
"Look, you have your roar of the elders." Adewale reassured him. "Granted, they might be older and more experienced in combat than you and your friends. But, just because you and your friends are children, does not mean you cannot make a difference."
"Yeah... you're right." Kion admitted. "I just need to be more alert with those guys. I won't really worry about those hyenas or jackals."
"There you have it. Just always keep a watchful eye to everything around you."
"Well, I would love to hang out more, but I need to be around with my family. They are missing me, along with the rest of my herd in that jungle that I came from."
"I understand. It was nice meeting you, Adewale."
The Emela-Ntouka smiled gratefully. "I can say the same about you," he replied. "And, I thank you for helping me with trying to make animals understand that I am not a mindless monster. Even if there are a few cases where they see me as that kind of creature."
"You're welcome, Adewale. I'm really glad that I helped you out."
Both of them bid farewell until they will meet again someday in the future. For that, Kion found his friends again, and they were out for another kind of patrol in this time of day just in case the Lion's bane came back. "So, I heard you made a new friends, Kion." said Fuli.
"Yeah, he is a very nice guy and he looks a little scary, but he has a golden heart, as gold as the sun."
"He's not exaggerating." said Beshte. "He's an Emela Ntouka."
"Zuka-Zama, what's that?" Bunga asked.
"He's like a rhino, but he is a different species." Beshte replied.
"But come on, there's some patrolling we should do. The Lion's Bane could still be out there trying to kill us." Kion said.
"I agree. I heard about the attack," said Ono. "We'll make sure they will pay dearly for trying to kill you earlier. No one tries to kill my friends and gets away with it!" All the kids walked around some parts of the Pride lands to see if there was any trouble, but there wasn't any sign of a bad hyena, jackal, or the Lion's Bane anywhere. Adewale scared them all real good back there the last time they encountered him.
It was a good thing, for there might not be any huge trouble for the Pride Lands for a little while now. On their patrolling, the only thing that Kion and his friends encountered was Mzingo and his clan of vultures harassing a group of saddle-bill storks, and there was only another type of danger, such as Bakay, the kudu calf in trouble while stuck on a rock in the middle of a river rapids.
Yes, it was another day saved, thanks to the Lion Guard. The kids all disbanded for the day, and went back home.
In the Night
It was lights out inside Pride Rock, and Kion was feeling tired from all the patrolling, along with the fighting with the Lion's Bane earlier. On the edge, Kion was looking at the stars, for he was hoping the kings and queens of the ancients and the past will still always be there to guide and protect him like guardian angels.
"Everything alright, Kion?" Simba came out and checked on him.
"Just fine, dad.' the cub replied. "Still hoping that those kings of the past will help me against any trouble. The Lion's Bane really did a number on me, if not for Adewale."
"Don't worry son. When there is a will, there's a way." Simba said. "Always have hope on your side."
"Yeah, you're right. And dad, thank you for helping Adewale. He's a very good guy. Now animals will accept him for what he is."
Simba smiled. "You are very welcome. grandfather would be proud of us both."
"I bet he will." They both went back inside the cave, and rested with the other members of the family, snoozing off into peaceful slumber.
Kion's Nightmare
Awaking from his slumber through the night, Kion awoke with a small yawn, and he saw that there was no one else was around him. it looked empty and the sound of wind were heard inside this cave, and he curiously looked outside to see where everyone was at, and ultimately, he saw that there was almost no life across the horizon in the Pride Lands.
"What are you doing here?" said an angry voice. It was Simba, and the other Pride of lions looking at him with pure hatred. "You need to leave, now!"
"Wha- what's going on?" Kion looked scared and confused.
"You know very well what's going on." said Kiara. "You bringing in that... that... beast into our home!"
"Wait, you mean Adewale!"
"Never mentioned that name in our presence!" said Nala.
"He is nothing more than a stupid beast." Kovu said.
"But... you all accepted him." Kion said, slowly backing away to the cliff.
"Accept him?" Vitani said. "Hah! Why would we accept that monster into these lands? He needs to die. Just as much as you need to die for betraying us."
Now Kion's heart was beating like a fast drum. "Die?" he thought. "They would never kill me. They're my family." he slowly backed up to the edge of the edgy spire of Pride Rock. "But... you're my family. You love me!"
"Love you, Kion!" said Kiara. "We would never love you!"
"But, you don't mean that!"
"But we do. You are no son of ours." Nala said. All of their eyes turned blood red, all over the corneas and no pupils.
It was just then, the poor cub tripped and fell backwards on the spire shouting "NOOOOOOOOO!" at the top of his lungs.
End of Kion's Nightmare
"Kion!" Kiara said, gently waking her brother by rubbing his body. "Kion! Wake up!" the poor cub awoken with a yelp and he was hyperventilating himself
"What? What happened?" he panted
"You were having a bad dream, buddy." Vitani added. "What happened.
"Yeah Kion, what's the matter?" Kiara asked
"Well, I had a dream where you disowned me and tried to kill me because I introduced you to Adewale and have him adjust to the Lands and, you made me fall off the pointy spire of our home."
The whole family and lions gasped. "Kill you? Why would we do that?" said Nala
"Yeah, that is just silly." Simba added. "We would never hurt you." Simba said. "You are our son, and a member of the family. Nothing will ever change that." Kion then felt Kiara knelt down on her belly and give him a hug to make him feel better.
"Yeah, we will always love you." she said.
"Okay, but, you guys are happy that you've met Adewale, right?"
"Of course." said Simba. "He is a good guy as you said earlier."
The cub looked around, and he flatly said: "Sorry" to the other lions for waking them up with him nightmare. "I didn't mean to wake all you guys up."
"Nah, don't worry about it. It wasn't the first time you had this." said Tiifu
"No hard feelings." Zuri added.
"Are you feeling better?" asked Kovu
"Yeah. I am. I'm glad it was just a nightmare."
"We promise you, it was." Kiara said.
"What time is it?"
"It appears to still be the middle of the night." Nala said.
"Look, let's just go back to sleep, okay? And if there is any other problem, just wake us up." said Simba. "We're all very tired and we need some rest. We'll be by your side, always, Kion."
Kion smiled, and he said: "Thanks guys. You're the best." then everyone went back to sleep and he had a more peaceful dream, mostly because Kiara was sleeping with him, hugging him gently like a plush toy.
