On another patrol, Kion and his cronies were looking for any trouble to be stopped. Whether it by Janja and his clan, Reirei and her family, or the more formidable Lion's Bane, they were ready for anything that can come towards them with threatening force. At first, they were about to head back home, when a voice called out desperately to the kids: "Kion! Guys!" It was Jasiri, the friendly hyena that Kion befriended.

"Jasiri," Kion smiled seeing her again. "What are you doing here?"

"Kion, I need your help! Janja and his friends are trying to hurt my clan. You need to help me! I tried fighting them, but Janja brought more hyenas with him to fight us."

The kids looked shocked and they all agreed to follow the hyena to the Outlands where Janja and his friends were harassing the other members of Jasiri's clan.

"Heh! Look at these pipsqueaks!" Janja taunted them. "They couldn't kill and eat their prey, even if they wanted to!" he was obviously referring to Wena and Tunu, the youngest of the clan Jasiri was leading.

"You leave them alone, Janja!" said Madoa.

"What are you gonna do about it?" Janja taunted her in retaliation. "Just try and claw us! I dare ya!"

Madoa did as Janja taunted her to do, and clawed at his face, swiftly and aggressively. "I hope that hurts you meathead!"

Cheezi and Chungu came to their boss' aid, and Chungu got angry. "You'll pay for that, girly!" he said. Wena and Tunu got under some small cave from the fighting to leave Madoa to fight these enemy hyenas alone. They didn't want to just hide, but Madoa ordered them to and not leave it no matter what.

"Janja!" Kion called out, with his friends and Jasiri next to him. "It's over! Leave them alone!"

"Well, well, well. My old enemies came here to fight me in MY turf. You're a little off from the Pride Lands if came all the way here to face me and my boys here."

"We don't care." said Fuli.

'No one threatens or belittles our friends, no matter where they are! If it means coming here to the Outlands to make you hear that, so be it."

"Well, that's pretty noble, I'll give ya that." Cheezi cackled with his tongue out.

"Yeah. For a kid, you're quite the trooper, Kion. But, I'm afraid there is only nine of yous, and thirty of me. Our odds are way greater than yours."

""Let's see a bunch of stupid kids like you try to fight fifty of us!" Chungu sneered.

Janja looked at him in an annoyed expression. "You really have no brains in ya guys, do ya?" he asked with his upper eyelids down. Turning back to the kids, he growled.

"You may have more friends on your side," Bunga said, "but Kion still has the Roar of the Elders in him!"

"Well, let's see you try and fight me this time!" Janja exclaimed. A massive fight broke out, and some Hyenas on Janja's side were being thrown and beaten without ease. The hyena pup twins were still hiding under the small cave and watched as the fight ensued.

Beshte was ramming over some opponents with his immense strength and he was having the least amount of difficulty in the fight. Fuli would dodge some hyena swipes and bites and when two of her opponents try to charge she would spurt out of the way in a short run and make the hyenas clash into one another like two vines hitting one another.

More and more of Janja's hyenas were getting tossed to and fro like they were nothing to be dealt with at all. Kion even used the Roar of the Elders to scare away the enemy hyenas. Chungu and Cheezi were knocked unconscious from Bunga throwing them into a rock, headfirst, and Janja was the only one left standing.

He was scared on the inside and he didn't want his opponents to see that he was, so he was just playing it cool and trying to still be tough. "Janja," Kion sighed, "aren't you getting tired of this?"

"What do you mean?" asked Janja with his left eyebrow raised. "Tired of what?"

"Tired of trying to terrorize the Pride Lands. What did they ever do to you? Why must you always terrorize them?"

"Terrorize? All me and my boys are doing is just trying to look for a decent meal we can get our teeth on to fill our stomachs. That's all. But, you guys always get in the way of looking for food. Is having an eland, kudu, or a rhino too much to ask? Is it?"

"Janja, what you are doing is wrong. Hyenas are mostly scavengers and that's what they were created for to balance the Circle of Life. If we let you eat a baby elephant all the time zit would disrupt and break the circle. It would be like..."

"A barren, desolate wasteland with no land or water like hiw Scar ruled over the Pride Lands." said Fuli. "There would be no more food or water around anymore. Everyone would starve to death or die of thirst. Is that what you want, Janja?"

"But, we're hyenas. We want to eat something good and not always eat the flesh of rotting dead animals."

"Look, why do you even terrorize the other animals?" Beshte asked.

"Yeah, why do you guys want to scare them?" Bunga added.

"Why?!" Janja said: "well... we... well... I don't know why." indeed. By the sound of his voice, Janja didn't know why he would cause so much trouble like this at all. "I... just... think it's fun watching those animals scream and have the little guys like hyrax, be at our mercy."

"It's wrong." said Jasiri. "I know you want to hunt some animals, but that's more of a Lion's role. We hyenas are scavengers. It's what we were created for."

"Janja, why don't you just try and turn over a new leaf and start over?" Kion remarked with a sympathetic look on his face. "Please, I know you can change."

"Change? Well... no! I want to hunt whatever I want!" it was just then his two cronies came back. "Come on, boys! Let's get out of here!" The three ran off far across the Outlands and left the kids and hyenas alone.

"Are you guys okay?" Kion asked the rest of Jasiri's clan.

Madoa smiled before replying: "yeah. Thanks to you guys."

"Still, I wish Janja would just stop. He's more than this." Kion speculated. "He's not really intimidating."

"I feel ya," said Jasiri. "But, I guess he can't change. But, you wanna stay with us for a while? We can make up for lost time."

The kids smiled and the leader replied: "sure Jasiri. I would like that." Unside of him, he knew that there was a small spark of good in Janja and his friends. Those hyenas just probably haven't figured out the answer yet.
