Yet another peaceful day in the Pride Lands occurred in this fine morning. young Kion was enjoying a little bathing under the sun and he was even lying onnuis hack whole enjoying this outside of Pride Rock. He felt like going for another patrol, but he was still trying to wake up a little more, and his eyes were still half asleep.
"Kion?" Kiars chuckled. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just relaxing, Kiara." Kion said. "The sun always gives me a warm feeling like this. Can you blame me? You would provably get me."
His elder sister made a small chuckle before replying: "yeah. I do understand you. You still feel tired?"
Kion made a small yawn, "yeah, a little bit. Probably just need to splash my face with water a little."
"I see. Wanna get a drink of water together?"
"Sure. Why not?"
The two siblings went over to the waterhole for their morning drink and they felt refreshed. Kion even took it on himself to slowly die his head in the shallow water in front of him to make him wake up more.
Yes, it was exactly what Kion needed to be more awake this time of day. It was another beautiful, sunny day in the Pride Lands, and Kion didn't want to waste it by falling asleep through the whole day. Granted, male lions can sleep like that for the whole day, but the cub didn't want to be like those male lions who would laze around.
No sir, Kion was a fighter and the opposite of lazy. After they have gotten their amount of water to drink, the two royal siblings went back to Pride Rock and Kion was more than ready to go out on a patrol with his closest friends today as usual.
"I'm going to hunt with Kovu if you want to come."
"No thank you. I can hunt myself. Besides, I promised mom and dad I would hang out with them for another hunting lesson later on today."
"I understand. But if you change your mind, come find us. Heh, we might even save you a small carcass for you."
"Thanks Kiara. See you later."
"Bye Kion. Have fun." the future queen then ran off with her mate to look for some breakfast this morning. Yesterday was a rather wild day, considering the fact that Kion and his close friends were trying to reason with Janja and his clan of hyenas to keep from terrorizing Jasiri's clan of hyenas.
He tried reasoning with him and his boys to try and stop the nonsense and chaos they were causing, and wanted him to understand the Circle of Life and feel empathy for other creatures. Alas, it didn't work, and those three hyenas will try and make another move one of these days.
"There is good in him." said the cub to himself. "I know it. He just needs... a little more convincing. Janja's not like the Lion's Bane or Ramses."
"Suddenly, he heard a female voice say his name, and it said: "hi Kion." the lion cub mare a small yelp and turned around while baring his teeth, looking ready for a fight. He immediately stood down when he saw a familiar face. It was Rani. "Oh, sorry Kion. I didn't mean to scare you."
"No. It's okay, Rani. It happens at times." said Kion. "Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here?"
"Well, I was bored, and I just wanted to visit the Pride Lands again and say hello to you. Did I miss anything while I was in the Back Lands?"
"Oh, there were some things that happened." the cub replied. Kion began telling Rani about Adewale, the Emela-Ntouka, and how he and his race were very unique type of animals in the Circle of Life. As he had suspected, Rani looked rather amazed and intrigued tonhesr such a creature. "He's a very nice guy, and you would like him."
"That's... interesting." Rani admitted. "I'll have to look for one."
"I know where Adewale lives and I can show you his home if you like."
"Sure. Maybe later though."
"So, how are things in the Back Lands?" Kion asked curiously before heading up to Pride Rock.
Rani had a small look of doubt on her face, and she ultimately stated: "I'm feeling a little nervous."
"About what?"
"You know, me becoming the queen of the Back Lands and how I will run the place once my mom and dad retire."
Kion made a small frown. "Come on. It's still a long ways away. You're a little older than me, admittedly, but still, you becoming the new queen. Besides, I think you will be a great queen."
Rani smiled. "Thank you, Kion. But, I don't know about myself." she paced around to and fro while still thinking of her future. It sounded to Kion that she was sounding a little insecure about herself and her future.
"Well, just talk to your parents about it. They're... not trying to pressure you, are they?"
"What? No no no. Of course not. I'm just thinking if I will be a good queen or not. I have dreams about it, that's all. But it's good to hear that I will he a good queen one day. I promise to he a good leader of the Night Pride."
Kion smiled boldly, knowing he said the right thing. "Good. Well the Lion's Bane hasn't really come back since Adewale scared them all away. Although, I have a feeling they will come back."
"Well, if they do come back, I got your back if they come for you."
"I know. Thanks for letting me know. You know, it's not always easy being the leader of the Lion Guard. Having to protect the Pride Lands from certain dangers and saving lives.
Rani made a small laugh, and she replied: "I can imagine why. And I wish I was there to help you when the Lion's Bane came back and attacked you, Kiara, and Kovu."
"Nah. You don't. Trust me, you would have been hurt like we were, and dead if not for Adewale saving us." he looked over at the Outlands, and he was thinking of the enemy hyenas and jackals that come against him and his friends. "And besides, I just killed an evil animal a few days ago."
Rani sounded a little surprised. "Really?" she said, sounding a little impressed and surprised together. "Who was it?"
"A martial eagle named Siyanda."
"Siyanda?" Rani asked. "I've heard of him."
"Really?"
"Yep. He tried to snatch and eat me when I was a baby, but my parents saved me."
"Wow. My parents saved me from being abducted by him too."
"Wow. I guess we have a few things in common." She sat down on a wane rock and basked under the sun. While she was looking at her surroundings, she felt something a little warm sit next to her on the right.
Turns out, Kion was sitting next to her and... slowly cuddling with her as well, like using her as a pillow a little. At first, she was a little surprised and she looked to her right. "Kion?" she said with her left eyebrow raised up. "What are you doing?"
"Oh! Sorry." the cub flustered. "I couldn't help myself. You feel so warm, and nice." Kion admitted. He felt a little embarrassed by what he just did. "Again, sorry."
"No, it's okay. I don't mind that. It caught me by surprise, that's all."
"Okay." they both got down from the rock and Kion saw how beautiful she was under the gorgeous sunlight. He was lost and didn't exactly know what to say at first, and before he knew it, he slowly moved his face towards her, and he wanted to... kids her?"
"Uh, Kion... what are you doing?" Rani asked him again. As he drew his face nearer and nearer, close to her own, Rani's eyes widened in realization: "Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! Hold the phone!" he then pushed him away from her, making him fall flat on his back.
Poor Kion realized what he was doing and he regretted it.
For the lioness, she looked a little guilty pushing him away like that, and worried that she had hurt him. "Kion, i... I'm so sorry. Did I hurt you?"
"No. I deserve it." he slowly turned his hack away from her and looked a little guilty about his little, careless act. "I'm the one who's sorry. I can't believe I tried to kiss you like that. I understand if you don't want to be my friend anymore."
"Ah, come on. Of course you're still my friend. Did I hurt you at least?"
"No. What you did was nowhere near as bad as the Lion's Bane did. But, can I tell you something?"
"Sure. What's that?"
"Well, sometimes... I feel like I will become evil like my great uncle Scar." Kion admitted flatly. "I might kill my family while hungry for power like Scar was."
"Oh, don't say that." Rani reassured him. "You are nothing like Scar. You are kind, compassionate, and noble."
The cub flushed hearing those words from her. "Good. So I guess I can worry a little hit at times, but I'm okay. I just.. learn to get past them. Thanks to my grandfather Mufasa and grandmother Sarabi."
Rani liked how confident her friend sounded. "I'm glad."
"I guess you'll never know when something will come and pounce on you out of nowhere." suddenly, ironically, something did pounce on him. Turns out, it was Rani herself, who was just being playful to him.
"Like that?"
"Yeah."
