Best Friend's Brother 11

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or any of the characters used aside from my OC and the few that go along with her also in case some of you caught it I loosely based the character of Natsumi's father's attorney off a one of my favorite manga artists Rumiko Takahashi (I basically just used his name to pay homage to her).

Awaking the next morning Natsumi tiredly reached over to her phone, pressing snooze on the beeping alarm she'd set the night before. As she sat up in her bed she ran a hand through her dark locks before using her other hand to rub the sleep from her eyes as she gazed at the time: 8:00. Typically Natsumi would awake at a later time considering it was the weekend but today was a special case.

As the school day ended yesterday Kiba excitedly took the dark haired teen girl by the hand to rush off campus before being stopped by Kakashi-sensei. It was then that the silver haired man had informed the girl that her teacher aide duties would be carried out the following morning, on a Saturday. So now the teen was groggily rising from the warm comfort of her bed, beginning to make her way to the bathroom to begin her morning ritual, before noticing that her mother's bedroom door was slightly ajar.

'Mom's back?' Natsumi wondered before her phone's alarm rang off again, making the teen girl jump in surprise. "Jeez get it together Natsumi' the teen tried to calm herself as she silenced the device and entered the bathroom.

"Everything is going to be fine. It doesn't matter that Kakashi-sensei might have the worst record with TA's or that he's already putting me to the test on a non-school day, I am going to put my best foot forward. I am going to be the best TA he's ever had." Natsumi stated looking at herself in the mirror with a look of new found determination in her eyes.

After taking care of her small morning routine, Natsumi decided it would probably be best to confirm that it was actually her mother that was home and not a stranger, so she quickly checked the woman's room only to discover it to be empty.

"Mom, are you home?" Natsumi asked loudly turning her attention to the staircase.

"Natsumi breakfast is ready!" her mother called surprising the teen girl as she made her way down stairs.

"Mom? When did you get back?" the teen girl asked seeing her mother setting two bowls of oatmeal onto the table.

"A little over an hour ago. I didn't want to wake you until the food was done" the woman explained as she took a seat in front of one the bowls.

"Why aren't you in bed then?" Natsumi asked taking a seat in front of the other bowl. "I could've handled breakfast" the teen went on noting the tired look her mother wore.

"I have all day to sleep, sweetie" her mother replied taking a bite before offering the teen a reassuring smile. "Besides I wanted to make sure you ate and called your father" the women said taking her eyes off her daughter to take a sip of her coffee.

"I have a lot to do today so I'll take care of it later" Natsumi replied with her mood immediately worsening.

"It's what's been agreed on Natsumi" her mother said in a knowing tone, placing a hand over her daughters in an attempt to calm her.

"I understand but it's only been agreed to, based upon his time available not mine" the girl said releasing a sigh before beginning to eat as her mother gave her a weary look.

"Natsumi just promise me you'll call" her mother said sternly. "The last thing I need is my inbox being flooded by his lawyers" she finished as Natsumi nodded in compliance allowing the pair to finish their meal peacefully.

After this the two quickly cleaned up with Natsumi wishing her mother a peaceful rest while she readied herself to meet with Kakashi-sensei. She was supposed to be meeting him at the shopping district downtown at 9 o'clock, so she had more than enough time to get ready.

...

Arriving at the shopping district, Natsumi was pleased to see she had managed to make her way unaccompanied and have time to kill. She released a heavy sigh before deciding to occupy her time until he arrived with wandering the various shops. At one point she found herself in a flower shop with some of the most vibrant colors of flowers on display.

"Hi looking for some help making an arrangement?" the kind familiar voice of a female said behind Natsumi. Turning to the source, the dark haired girl's eyes went wide when registering the appearance of the blonde girl.

'Ino's family's shop' she thought as she remembered when Shino had showed her around town with Naruto. She took in the appearance of the blonde wearing a purple crop top t-shirt, a pair of blue denim shorts, a pair of white sneakers and a small green apron over top.

"Oh it's you" Ino said taking in Natsumi's attire. Most students dressed down on the weekends, but here was this girl dressed like she was attending some kind of business meeting. Her black hair was slightly curled and pulled back into a ponytail. She wore a white button up slightly undone as to not look so serious with a navy blue V-neck sweater over top, along with a black skirt, nude panty hose, a pair of tall black boots, and a long beige trench coat undone.

"Ino" Natsumi said in greeting to the blonde that looked her over.

"Aren't you a little over dressed for a weekend?" Ino asked looking back to catch Natsumi's gaze.

"It's easy to say that considering how little you're wearing" Natsumi stated stuffing her hands into her pockets as she avoided eye contact with the blonde.

"Still has that snappy attitude" Ino commented crossing her arms. "What are you even doing here anyways? Have to buy yourself flowers since you know no one else will" she continued.

"Ino that's no way to speak to our customers" an older woman with brown hair and a green turtle neck sweater and black skirt said making the blonde teen stiffen.

"Mom" the girl exclaimed turning to the woman with a worried look as she turned to face her.

"You need to work on your customer service skills young lady" the woman chastised the girl before turning to Natsumi with an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry miss, my daughter obviously has some issues she needs to work on" she apologized before shooting her daughter a dirty look.

"Mom" Ino tried only to be scolded by the woman.

"Ino I'm very disappointed in you and I expect you to apologize to this young lady immediately" the woman instructed before Natsumi intervened by with a slight cough.

"Excuse me that's really unnecessary" the dark haired teen said as the two females turned to her. "Ino is a classmate of mine from school and we were only teasing one another" she lied bringing a look of astonishment to the blonde's face as her mother believed Natsumi's explanation.

"Oh dear I didn't realize you were one of Ino's friends" the woman said taken aback. "Usually we've seen Sakura, Shikamaru, and Choji, but none of them really spend time in the shop" the woman went on.

"Well since your friend's here you can take your break" Ino's mother offered turning to her daughter with a smile. "Also it was lovely meeting you dear" the woman said turning back to Natsumi while holding her hand out.

"It was a pleasure Mrs. Yamanaka, my name is Natsumi Nakamaru by the way" the girl said taking hold

"Natsumi that's a pretty name" the brunette commented. "I hope we see more of you around Natsumi but you girls go ahead and have fun" she said pushing the teens out the door of the shop.

Awkwardness was in the air as the teens made their way through the plaza.

"You know you didn't have to do that" Ino said breaking the silence as the girls walked.

"You know you could just say thank you" Natsumi said bluntly looking over the blonde with a blank expression.

"I didn't ask for the save" Ino replied back defensively. "So what do you want?" the blonde asked as Natsumi gave her a confused look.

"What do you mean?" Natsumi asked.

"I don't want to be in your debt so just tell me what I can do now to pay you back" Ino replied as Natsumi raised a brow in disbelief.

"I don't want anything" Natsumi said coming to a halt as she looked over the blonde who simply rolled her eyes at the dark haired girl.

"Just pick something" Ino said stubbornly.

"God you're annoying" Natsumi breathed out rolling her eyes at the blonde.

"What did you just say?!" Ino asked menacingly.

"Ino I really don't have time for this" Natsumi replied coming to a halt as the blonde stared at her. "I have to be at a café by 9 to-" Natsumi started to explain before being cut off by Ino.

"You know what your problem is? You talk way too much" Ino said crossing her arms over her chest. "I know where the café is, it's not far from here actually so just follow me" the blonde continued before walking forward and expecting Natsumi to follow.

"I never asked what my problem was" Natsumi stated unmoving from her spot as Ino came to a halt and turned to look at her before rolling her eyes.

"I don't really care why you have to be there, but since YOU are the one with a time limit you might as well let me treat you to something there, or are you going to waste more time arguing with me on that too?" Ino asked in an annoyed tone as she gave Natsumi a knowing look.

"Fine a hot chocolate" Natsumi said shrugging her shoulders before Ino huffed and began to lead her to a small café.

Upon entering the location Natsumi saw the business was relatively small with a cozy warm vibe. The girls quickly made their way to the counter to put in their order before making their way to a booth by a window. Once seated there was no more talk as Natsumi watched Ino pull out her phone, so she took a moment to further take in her surroundings.

'It's almost 9' the teen noted mentally, letting her eyes drift to a clock on the wall.

"Here you go" a barista said suddenly appearing to set the two drinks down in front of the teen girls who nodded in thanks before sipping away in more silence.

"So what's going on with you and Sasuke anyways?" Ino asked breaking the silence.

"We're friends" Natsumi responded automatically.

"Yeah well Sasuke doesn't do friends ... aside from Naruto" Ino went on making Natsumi roll her eyes.

"What's the point in asking if you're just going to argue with me over my answer?" Natsumi asked catching Ino off guard.

"Why are you playing the friend angle? You know there's no shame in admitting that you like him" Ino replied making a look of bewilderment cross Natsumi's face.

"It's not an angle and I don't like him" Natsumi said making a look of disbelief cross Ino's features as she looked over Natsumi. "Is that so hard to believe?" Natsumi asked raising a brow as Ino kept her eyes trained on her.

"Why?" Ino asked not believing the teen girl.

"I don't know, why do you care?" Natsumi asked taking another sip from her drink.

"You showed up out of nowhere and got closer to him than any of us have managed since growing up with him" Ino answered leaning in. "You can't seriously tell me you don't feel anything when you look at him" Ino continued.

"Well yeah he's attractive but he's ..." the girl started aloud before trailed off in thought.

'Such a jerk, it wouldn't kill him to be kinder ... like Itachi' she went on thinking of the older Uchiha's kind gesture of offering her his coat when it would rain, but immediately making her shake her head to rid the thought from her mind. 'I shouldn't be thinking of Itachi like this, Sasuke would kill me' she went on in thought as Ino stared over her flustered expression.

"But he's what?" Ino asked loudly bringing Natsumi out of her thoughts.

"He's annoying" Natsumi said dismissively waving off the topic to earn an annoyed sigh from Ino.

"That's not it" Ino said knowingly as the blonde crossed her arms over her chest. "You don't like him because you like someone else" she said making the dark haired girl stiffen.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about" Natsumi lied trying to clear out the thoughts she had of the dark haired male.

"You are such a liar, who is he?" Ino asked with a sly smirk.

"There's no one" Natsumi stammered nervously as she could feel her face heat up.

"Oh come on Natsumi you can tell me" Ino said reaching over the table and taking hold of the young girl's hands excitedly.

"You didn't like me that much five minutes ago" Natsumi retorted trying to pull back her hands from the blonde's grip.

"Well if you really aren't competition for Sasuke then I think we can be friends" the blonde said earning an annoyed huff from Natsumi. "Is that why Sakura has started being so nice to you? She knows doesn't she ... Wait a minute she's not worrying about you wanting to be with Sasuke because she keeps mentioning ... Is it Kiba?!" the blonde asked excitedly making Natsumi sweat drop.

"We're not having this conversation" Natsumi said unamused by Ino's antics.

"You guys went on a date yesterday how did that go?" Ino asked ignoring the girl's previous statement.

"It wasn't a date he just invited me to tag along while he walked his dog" Natsumi replied as Ino leaned in excitedly.

"That's it?" the blonde asked dejectedly releasing Natsumi's hands. "I'm sorry about that" Ino continued.

'If anything I probably wasn't much fun being around yesterday since I was so nervous about my teacher's aide responsibilities starting today' Natsumi thought lightly biting the inside of her cheek in thought.

"You don't have to apologize" Natsumi replied dully before the sound of Ino's phone ringing caught the attention of the girl's.

Picking up the device Ino released a heavy sigh before informing Natsumi that her mother needed her back at the shop and leaving the dark haired teen alone.

... 3 hours later...

To say the dark haired teen was upset was the understatement of the year as she stood outside the café waiting for her silver haired teacher who had yet to show up.

'I should've known he'd be late' Natsumi thought in annoyance as she pulled out her phone to check the time.

"Hello Natsumi" Kakashi-sensei's calm voice said catching the girl's attention as he suddenly appeared beside the young girl.

Turning to face him, Natsumi saw the silver haired man was dressed considerably different than what she'd been used to seeing him in while in school. He wore black running shoes, black joggers, a dark grey pullover hoodie, and instead of his usual medical mask, a face mask that covered from his neck to just above his nose.

'Still covering his face' the teen thought looking over his relaxed attire as he awkwardly smiled at her.

"You're late" the teen girl said in a monotone voice as she stared blankly at the man.

"Sorry about that" he said scratching behind his head. "My morning workout ran over and then you wouldn't believe the traffic in getting here" he said with his usual closed eyed smile.

'Of course he has an excuse' Natsumi thought with an unchanging expression as she looked over Kakashi.

"Whatever it's not like I've been waiting 3 hours or anything" the girl said sarcastically while shrugging her shoulders as she turned her gaze to the side.

"I'll make it up to you" Kakashi offered. "You can come to lunch with a friend and I" he went on peaking the girl's interest as in all honestly she could feel the slight pinch in her stomach from hunger.

"Fine" she stated folding her arms over her chest.

"Alright why don't we get started we don't want to be late for lunch" the silver haired man said walking off as he placed his hands into his pocket.

'You mean you were actually expecting to be on time considering how late you started' Natsumi thought before following after the man.

They quickly made their way through the various supply stores picking out the necessary things that would be needed for his many classes of English and Math. There wasn't much issue until the many bags carried by the pair became an issue as Natsumi began to noticing how heavy they were. Taking note of his student's struggle, Kakashi offered to take a few from her, but ever the stubborn one, she declined.

"Come on Natsumi why don't we drop off these bags at my car before we make our last stop" Kakashi asked as he watched the young girl struggle with her grip on the items she held.

"Why don't we just finish and then take everything to your car?" the teen asked adjusting some of the bags she carried.

"Come on follow me" the silver haired man said ignoring her question as he walked toward the parking lot, earning an annoyed huff from Natsumi.

'Did he even try listening to what I asked?' Natsumi thought before following him.

Arriving at Kakashi's car, Natsumi noted he drove a modest vehicle in the color navy blue. Opening the trunk she noticed a black gym bag, before he instructed her to load in the many bags.

"So what's the last store we're heading to today?" Natsumi asked turning back to face Kakashi, only to see the man preoccupied with reading the book he always had in class.

"I'm sorry did you say something?" Kakashi-sensei asked making an irk mark appear on his dark haired students forehead as she stared at his cool composure.

'I can't believe this guy' she thought before rolling her eyes and motioning to the trunk of bags she'd packed.

"Oh you finished packing the trunk without me?" the silver haired man asked observing the many bags.

"What's the last store sensei?" the dark haired girl asked releasing a heavy sigh of disappointment.

"Just a bookstore to pick up an order of paperbacks" the man replied turning his gaze back to his book. "Oh yeah and one more thing Natsumi we're out of school so you can go ahead and drop the sensei until we're back on campus" he said surprising the young girl before he turned and began walking back toward the shops.

'So I can call you Kakashi just outside of school' Natsumi thought looking after her silver haired teacher and trying to fight off the impending blush to her face.

"Are you still coming?" Kakashi asked as he came to a halt and turned to look at the girl, bringing her out of her thoughts before running to catch up with him.

"Yeah sorry ... Kakashi" the girl said as she reached the man, letting his name slide out without the sensei, and making her feel odd.

Arriving at the shop Natsumi noted it was very small and cozy with the walls stacked to the ceiling with books. There were a few shelves in the middle of shop over flowing with books and a small counter upfront with a small old lady behind it.

"Hello" she greeted as the pair entered and made their way to her.

"Good afternoon" Kakashi greeted the woman with a smile as they stood in front of the counter. "I'm called earlier about the order of paperback books" he went on as the woman's face lit up.

"Oh that was you on the phone!" the woman exclaimed. "I thought that voice belonged to a handsome young man, but I wasn't expecting someone as handsome as you" she went on with a light laugh.

"Oh and you dear, what a beauty" the woman said turning her attention to Natsumi, who now blushed bashfully.

"Th-thank you" the girl said bowing her head the woman who gave a light laugh.

"Don't be so modest dear, learn to take a compliment" the woman said, as Natsumi nodded in understanding. "And as for your order I'll be right back" the woman said turning back to Kakashi before scurrying off.

"She's so nice" Natsumi stated before noticing that she stood alone at the counter, turning to look around the room she noticed he had wondered to a display for something called 'Make out Paradise'.

'What the heck is this?!' Natsumi thought as she made her way to the display and picked up one of the many books, flipping through the pages, and causing a pink blush to cross her face.

"That's not exactly for your eyes" Kakashi said suddenly taking the book from the young girl's hand.

"W-what is it?" Natsumi asked curiously as she turned to look at the silver haired man.

"It's the next installment to the series I'm reading" he replied awkwardly scratching the back of his head.

"This is what you're reading in class?!" Natsumi asked in disbelief as Kakashi gave a nervous laugh.

"There's no need to sound so judgmental now Natsumi" the man said raising both hands as she stared blankly at him.

"No wonder the class called you a pervert- Wait a second, are these the pervy books Naruto was talking about?" Natsumi asked making Kakashi sweat drop as he laughed nervously.

"If you could not use the word pervert so loud that would be great" Kakashi said noticing the old woman returning with the large box.

"Hn" the girl replied before returning to the counter where the woman began the process of ringing up the order.

"Um excuse me, would you mind adding this in?" Kakashi asked placing the book he took from Natsumi on top of the box and earning a sideways glare from his student.

'Is he really going to buy that with the school credit card?' she thought rolling her eyes at the man. 'Maybe it won't be so hard getting over this crush on him' she went on in thought shifting her gaze back to the woman for a response.

"Oh my of course" the woman said taking the book from his hand. "I heard it would be quiet the seller this one" she went on earning a light laugh from the silver haired male. "Though it is quiet bold of you to buy this with your girlfriend, so I guess it's only fair that I offer you the couple's discount we have for this month" she said alarming both Kakashi and Natsumi.

'Couple?!' Natsumi thought as her face flushed a deep shade of red. 'How could she think we're a couple?" the teen thought letting her eyes shift between the woman and Kakashi before realization dawned on her. With how dressed down Kakashi was he looked much younger than he actually was, combined with how dressed up Natsumi was, she appeared much older than she actually was, so it was no wonder that the woman could mistake the pair as couple.

"A-actually ..." Natsumi nervously stammered out before the woman interrupted.

"And it's a good thing you chose to come in today because we thought about discontinuing the sale since we don't get many young couples, but thanks to you two I'll go ahead and keep it open for the rest of the month in case" she went on with a smile.

"How much of a discount?" Kakashi asked with his interests peaked.

"40%" the woman responded with another smile.

"Oh but you see we're-" Natsumi began she was once again interrupted only this time by Kakashi taking hold of her hand, bringing a look of shock to her face as she looked at the silver haired man.

"Most definitely a couple" the silver haired man lied intertwining his fingers with Natsumi who felt as if her heart could burst from her chest at his sudden action.

"Oh I knew it!" the woman exclaimed happily before beginning to pack the books from the box into two large bags.

As they made their way out of the shop Natsumi and Kakashi carried a bag each with their hands still intertwined. Natsumi was at a loss of words as she nervously glanced toward the man, who much to her surprise was unfazed by their act of intimacy as he had busied himself with the new book in his series.

'He doesn't look the least bit out of place!' Natsumi thought in shock as she knew she was surely a mess as her heart beat pounded through her ears, her hands grew sweaty, and she was the color of a beat. 'I need to calm down' the teen thought trying to compose herself as the pair walked on. 'I can handle my crush on him, I can get rid of it' she tried convincing herself when they suddenly came to an abrupt halt bringing her out of her thoughts as she looked to Kakashi with wide eyes.

"And it looks like we're in the clear" Kakashi said looking back over his shoulder toward the book store, before turning back to Natsumi with his usual closed eyed smile. "I'm sorry I sprung that on you at the last minute but thanks for playing along Natsumi, that discount was worth it" he said making the dark girl figuratively shatter.

'He used me for a discount' she thought in disbelief as he released her hand.

"Well we should probably head over to lunch we don't want to be late" Kakashi said smoothly motioning for the girl to follow as he led her to a small shop she'd immediately recognized as Ichiraku Ramen.

'This is where I came with Naruto' the girl thought as they entered and began to take their seats at the counter.

"Hello Kakashi" Ichiraku greeted the silver haired man before turning his gaze to Natsumi and smiling.

"And you're Naruto's friend ... Natsumi" the man said surprising the girl as he remembered her.

"Treating one of your students to lunch?" he asked turning back to Kakashi.

"Well with how late Obito is it looks like he'll be the one treating both of us" Kakashi joked earning a laugh from the older man.

"Well just wave me over when you're ready to order" Ichiraku said before making his way to the back.

'Obito?' Natsumi thought as the name sounded so familiar to her. 'I definitely heard that before but where?' she thought before she felt an arm wrapping around her shoulders as she was pulled close to an unknown man with short black hair, onyx eyes, a large scar covering half his face, and wearing jeans with a black hoodie.

"Hello there" the man greeted with a smile as Natsumi's face lit ablaze at his proximity. "I'm sorry I didn't realize my friend was bringing a date. I'm Obito." he introduced himself before shooting a glance to Kakashi.

"Uh Obito?" Kakashi asked raising a hand to interrupt but his friend was already talking again.

"Don't be rude Kakashi, I'm just getting to know your friend" he said ignoring Kakashi, before returning his attention to the girl under his arm. "So what's your name?" he asked.

"Natsumi Nakamaru I'm-" the girl began before being cut off the black haired man.

"Natsumi that means summer beauty right?" he asked. "Wow you sure are pretty, but tell me why you would be here with Kakashi?" he asked cocking a brow as a playful smirk played onto his lips. "You know I don't know what so many girls' see in him but trust me he's definitely not as cool as he acts" Obito went on alarming Natsumi about how he talked about Kakashi.

"Obito" Kakashi tried to cut in again only to be ignored.

"I'm only teasing" the black haired man said turning Kakashi. "But I am serious" he said in a low voice as leaned closer to Natsumi, making her face turn an even deeper shade of red. "Kakashi likes to think he's so cool, but he's a real jerk when you get to know him. I think a girl like you shouldn't bother with him especially when there are plenty of other available bachelors like yours truly" Obito went on with wink.

"Obito" Kakashi said with annoyance evident in his tone, before being waved off by Obito.

"You know not only am I single but I'm also a member of one of the most prominate clans in Konoha" the man bragged peaking the girl's curiosity. "Could you imagine yourself being Natsumi Uchiha" he said waving an arm in the air as if it were magically floating there.

'Uchiha?!' the girl thought in disbelief as his black hair and eyes made sense. 'He's from the same clan as Sasuke and Itachi!' she thought as the last thing he said floated through her mind. 'Natsumi Uchiha' she thought as she could feel her face burn at the thought of marrying into that family.

Noticing the flustered look of distress Natsumi wore, Kakashi immediately took action.

"Natsumi is my teacher's aide! She's a student at Konoha High!" Kakashi exclaimed loudly, bringing silence to the room as Obito processed what he said.

"No way" he said after a while. "I'm only joking Kakashi. You don't have to make up such ridiculous lies to get me away from your date" Obito replied cockily making Kakashi face palm.

"I'm not lying" Kakashi stated simply making Obito's eyes go wide as he turned to look more closely at the girl under his arm.

"I'm 17" Natsumi said quietly as she looked at the man, who simply scoffed.

"Oh I get it you're both in on this" he said with a large smile, making both give him looks of disbelief.

"Oh Obito is finally here? Does that mean we're ready to order?" Ichiraku asked returning to the front when he caught sight of the black haired male.

"Oh hey old man it's good to see you" Obito greeted the man with a large smile.

"Running late as always I see" Ichiraku said with a laugh.

"I would've been on time but this old lady needed help with her groceries" Obito said.

"I also see you seem to be very comfortable with your students" Ichiraku commented making Obito's eyes widen as he turned to look at the girl under his arm with a horrified look on his face.

'Oh Obito-sensei co-teaches Applied Math with Kakashi-sensei' the girl thought as she remembered Naruto was taking his class.

"No way, please tell me you're in on their little prank" Obito said turning back to the older man with worry.

"Obito you jokester" the man laughed. "Anyways what we are getting today? Natsumi, do you want the same thing you had when you came in with Naruto?" the man went on turning to look at the teen girl who nodded with a smile.

"With Naruto?" Obito asked as realization set in, he immediately retracted his arm from around the dark haired girl with one of the reddest blushes on his face before he seemingly jumped back and ran to sit behind Kakashi.

"Idiot" Kakashi commented under his breath as he shook his head at his friend.

"Why didn't you tell me she was underage?!" Obito shouted at the silver haired man. "Wait a minute who are you calling idiot?!" he asked earning an eye roll from Kakashi.

"I tried telling you, you just didn't want to listen" Kakashi replied nonchalantly.

"You could've tried harder!" Obito said angrily. "You're such a jerk!"

"It's not my fault, if you would've showed up on time and not assumed she was a date, you would've known" Kakashi shot back angrily.

"Don't try to act so cool about this Kakashi" Obito said pointing at the silver haired man. "You could've been a better friend and warned me!" he went on earning a scoff from Kakashi.

"What kind of warning? You would've been late to pick up any hints anyway!" Kakashi retorted.

"What's that supposed to mean?!" Obito asked defensively.

"If it's not how late you are, it's how dense you are!" Kakashi replied, prompting more yelling from Obito, as Natsumi awkwardly watched the two men argue before Ichiraku cleared his throat, only catching her attention.

"Maybe just get them what I'm ordering too" Natsumi said turning her attention back to Ichiraku, who simply nodded before returning to the kitchen.

'Geez these two are fighting like children' Natsumi thought turning her attention back to the men who continued to argue. 'Actually they kind of remind me of ... no it can't be' the teen went on before trying to shake the thought from her head. 'Naruto and Sasuke' she finished before her brown hues drifted to the men and she couldn't help but think of her blonde and black haired friend. 'Oh Kami no' she thought as her eyes widened and she immediately turned her attention to the counter in front of her, as a dark gloom radiated from the teen as she fell further into her thoughts and becoming very silent.

"Natsumi is everything alright?" Kakashi's suddenly asked after noticing how zoned out the girl was and catching her attention as she nervously looked up to meet his gaze.

'I refuse to accept this' she thought stubbornly, before nodding to the man.

"Alright three orders" Ichiraku announced happily as he set the steaming bowls in front of the trio.

"Oh this looks great old man, I could probably eat a dozen" Obito exclaimed picking up a pair of chopsticks with a smile, as the statement caught Natsumi's attention.

'No way' the teen thought once again shaking the thought out of her head as the three started to eat.

By the end of the meal Natsumi was in shock as she watched Obito polish off his 4th bowl of ramen with a satisfied smile across his face.

'No way' she thought again as memories of Naruto crossed her mind. 'But if Obito is supposed to be Naruto then that would mean Sasuke is ..." the teen girl thought turning to look at her silver haired teacher in disbelief.

"I'm sorry did you say something?" Kakashi asked bringing his nose out of his book as he noticed Natsumi's gaze.

"No-nothing Kakashi" the girl said shaking her head in denial.

"You look uncomfortable and I think I know what it is" Kakashi stated making the girl stiffen.

'Yeah, you and Obito are basically Sasuke and Naruto' the teen thought bitterly.

"Obito I think you owe Natsumi an apology for earlier" Kakashi went on alarming both Obito and Natsumi.

'That's not it' the girl thought. 'I just need something to confirm you guys aren't like those idiots' she went on in thought as she observed Obito stiffen before nervously standing from his seat as he glanced at Natsumi with a blush of embarrassment on his face. Making his way over to the girl, he casually put an arm on the counter in front of her as he slowly met her gaze.

"Natsumi I-I apologize about earlier" he said simply earning a nod from the girl. "Even if it wasn't my entirely my fault" he said bitterly glaring at Kakashi who was too focused on his book to even notice.

"You're right sensei I'm sorry, I should've said something sooner" Natsumi said surprising the dark haired man as she bowed her head.

"Wh-what?!" he asked. "No you don't have to apologize!" he said lifting his arm to wave off the girl, but in doing so he had knocked over the glass of water Kakashi had on the counter right onto the jacket and sweater Natsumi wore, making him immediately panic as he grabbed a handful of napkins and began to try to dab the water off her.

'He's definitely Naruto!' she thought.

"Ob-Obito-sensei I got it!" the girl exclaimed pushing his arms away from her as her face lit ablaze at where he was dabbing.

"I'M SO SORRY" the man cried as he tried to offer her more napkins, and a look of realization set in as he looked at his hands, immediately making his entire face turn red. "I'M SORRY!" he exclaimed once again jumping back from the girl as Ichiraku shook his head disapprovingly.

"You're such an idiot" Kakashi said releasing a heavy sigh as his flustered friend started to freak out.

"Yo-you saw what happened old man" Obito tried to explain. "I-It was an accident!" he fussed as Ichiraku began to wipe up the mess on the counter, still shaking his head at the black haired man.

"Did it go through to your shirt?" Kakashi asked as Natsumi pulled the wet sweater away from her body to avoid it soaking through.

"No not yet" the teen replied removing her jacket while trying to keep the sweater from touching her white shirt underneath.

"I'm so sorry about him Natsumi" Kakashi apologized as he motioned to Obito still trying to explain things to an angry Ichiraku.

"Hn its fine" Natsumi replied pulling her sweater over her head. "On the bright side it wasn't hot ramen" Natsumi said before the sound of the heavy wind sounded outside catching her attention. "On the not so bright side the winds picking up" she noted releasing a heavy sigh as she closed her eyes.

"Here" Kakashi said surprising the girl as he held out his grey hoodie to her.

"S-sen- Kakashi I can't" the girl said hoping she wasn't blushing. "What about you?" she asked furrowing her brows.

"You can wear this one and I'll take Obito's" Kakashi explained nonchalantly glancing to his dark haired friend before handing the item to the dark haired girl.

"You'll what?!" Obito asked turning his head to Kakashi at the mention of his name.

"It's the least you can do since YOU spilled MY water on MY teacher's aide" Kakashi explained making an irk mark appear on the black haired male's head.

"Maybe YOUR water shouldn't have been where it could be spilled on YOUR teacher's aide" Obito retorted angrily.

"Now Obito do you really think now is the time to be pointing fingers?" he asked calmly making Obito fists clench.

"Thank you and here's the bill" Ichiraku announced setting down the check in front of Kakashi, who immediately looked up to Obito.

"You know it really has been quiet the day and poor Natsumi has really had it" Kakashi said making Obito furrow his brows as he looked down guiltily. "And you're right Obito it's not entirely your fault, but your apologies just don't seem to be making things better" the silver haired man went on. "But you know what they say: Actions speak louder than words, so the best apology you can offer Miss Nakamaru is showing her how much of a standup guy you really are" Kakashi went on sliding the bill toward Obito.

"I know what you're doing Kakashi, you just want me to cover the bill" Obito said dryly.

"This has nothing to do with the bill Obito" Kakashi said waving off Obito's suggestion. "I just wanted my student to see that you're not so bad after all I'm going to have Natsumi around a lot more so it's important to me that she see what a great guy MY best friend is" he went on striking a nerve with his friend.

Walking out of the shop, Kakashi gave Natsumi his signature closed eyed smile as he held up a peace sign, making the girl laugh.

'I can't believe he talked Obito-sensei into paying for the bill' Natsumi thought as she turned to see Obito exit the shop while stuffing his wallet back into his back pocket.

"Thank you Obito-sensei" Natsumi said as the man approached the pair.

"N-no problem" he said waving off the girl as he turned to face Kakashi. "So what's the plan now?" he asked sticking his hands into the pockets of his pants.

"I'm sorry did you say something?" Kakashi asked lifting his gaze from his book and earning an annoyed huff from Obito. "Oh yeah Natsumi we're done for the day if want to head out" Kakashi said turning to face the teen girl who perked up and nodded in understanding, while Obito did an anime fall.

"Well see you later!" Natsumi said quickly handing the extra bag of books to Kakashi, as she felt she couldn't get away from the pair fast enough. She gave a quick bow to the two men who awkwardly nodded at the gesture before watching the teen girl rush off.

'Finally' Natsumi thought releasing a breath of relief before walking off from the pair, just before her phone dinged indicating a text. 'Oh yeah I got a couple notifications earlier but I never checked it since my hands were full with shopping' the teen girl thought pulling her device out and seeing 3 new notifications (1 missed call and 2 new text messages) all from Sasuke.

1 missed call Sasuke

'My mom wants you over for dinner tonight.' The first message read.

'I know you probably don't have any plans so call me when you're home.' The newest message said making the girl release an annoyed sigh.

'Great now I have to deal with Sasuke' Natsumi thought clenching her phone in her hand. 'What a jerk, I could've had other plans ... but I hate that he's right' she thought releasing a sigh of defeat before continuing on her way home.

...

"What a day" the teen girl thought as she arrived back to her home. Natsumi released a heavy sigh as she made her way to her room. Noting her mother's closed door, she guessed she was still resting from her trip so she decided to check in later, as she made her way into her room.

Natsumi draped her coat and sweater over the chair that sat in front of her vanity to air dry before making her way across her room to her bed.

'I'd really hate to think that if Obito-sensei is like Naruto then Kakashi-sensei would be like Sasuke' she thought as she fell back onto her bed staring blankly at the ceiling. 'I liked Kakashi-sensei but if he's like Sasuke then would that mean I could- No' the girl thought trying to shake the thought from her head, as the cocky smirk of Sasuke appeared in her mind.

"Oh yeah I forgot I was supposed to call Sasuke when I got home" the teen girl thought changing the subject as she jumped up from her bed and made her way across her room to retrieve the device from the pocket of her coat.

Listening to the dial tone, Natsumi gave an impatient huff before the phone was answered.

"Hey Sasuke. I got your message earlier and just so you know I did have plans" she said in an annoyed tone as the ringing stopped.

"Hello Natsumi" the kind voice of Mikoto replied from the other end of the line, surprising the teen girl as she checked her caller id to confirm that she dialed Sasuke's number.

"Oh Mikoto, I'm sorry I thought it was Sasuke" the teen apologized, with a blush of embarrassment crossing her face at how rudely she must have sounded, but her mind was soon at ease as she heard the light laughter of Mikoto from the other line.

"Oh it's fine dear but he's actually having a discussion with his father right now" the woman explained. "Would you like me to relay a message?" she asked.

"Oh no" Natsumi replied. "Sasuke asked me to call, so I was-" Natsumi began to explain before being cut off by the woman on the other line.

"Oh yes!" Mikoto said excitedly silencing the teen girl. "I asked him to invite you over for dinner this evening. You will be joining us won't you dear?" Mikoto asked in a hopeful tone that Natsumi couldn't refuse.

"O-of course ... I just need Sasuke to pick me up" the girl replied, internally crying over the loss of her introvert evening in.

"Lovely!" Mikoto exclaimed. "Well I'm cooking now and I'd hate to make him rush with his father ... but I'll make sure to let Sasuke know to pick you up when everything is ready, ok? We should be eating at 7" Mikoto asked sweetly.

"Alright thank you Mikoto" the girl said politely.

"We look forward to seeing you Natsumi" the woman said happily before hanging up.

"I spent a good 3 hours waiting for Kakashi, then shopping for about 2, and an hour at lunch" Natsumi thought out loud as she stared blankly at her ceiling, suddenly feeling the strain of her day setting in as her eye lids grew heavy. "I think I deserve a quick power nap" the dark haired teen said tiredly before releasing a yawn and allowing slumber to overtake her.

...

Meanwhile, sitting in his father's office Sasuke nodded in understanding as father motioned for the young man to make his way out as he received a call.

"Hello" Fugaku answered the device in a serious tone.

"Hello sir" a clam male vice said. "I have some new information concerning your son, that's been brought to my attention" the voice on the other line said sparking the interest of the older man.

"Oh what about?" he asked with his immediate thoughts going to Itachi and his troublesome group of friends.

"It's on the safety of Sasuke" the voice informed him, making Fugaku stiffen at the mention of his younger son.

"Go on" Fugaku said in a serious tone.

"It seems your son has come up on the radar of a private agency that specializes in background checks. When it was discovered that the information being requested was on an Uchiha, the file was denied and the company informed me of the situation" the voice went on.

"How did this happen?" Fugaku asked curiously.

"It seems Sasuke was being followed but it's believed he was aware of the situation as he did take the necessary steps to avoid his pursuer." The voice on the other line said. "The request for the background check on Sasuke came from a Mr. Shun Mitaka based on pictures of Sasuke's car and plates"

"Who is that and what business does he have with my son?" Fugaku asked.

"He's an attorney out of Kyoto. Currently we're still trying to figure more so we've had him followed as well, but not much else can really be said since he's returned to Kyoto" the voice went on.

Fugaku stayed quiet for a couple minutes processing what had been told to him. Curious as to why Sasuke never said anything.

" ... I want everything you have on this man. I'll be damned if anyone dares to threaten the integrity of the Uchiha" Fugaku said sternly bringing down a fist on his desk.

...

Sasuke finally made it back to his room with a tired expression on his usually stoic face. The black haired teen made his way over to his bed, immediately falling back. He had figured he would have enough time to recuperate from his discussion with his father until dinner as he allowed his onyx eyes to shut and he took in the comforting silence of his room, until his door swung open.

"Sasuke" his mother said stepping in, as her teenage son raised his head to look at her. "Oh I'm sorry dear I keep forgetting to knock" she said with a light laugh before making her way to where her son now sat up on his bed. She smiled tenderly at him before holding out his phone to him, making a look of confusion cross his face as he looked from the device to his mother with a raised brow.

"I'm sorry dear, I was in here earlier to get your laundry when I heard your phone ringing so I answered it" the dark haired woman explained with an innocent smile.

"Hn ... who called?" Sasuke asked curious as to why his mother seemed so happy.

"It was Natsumi" Mikoto replied happily, making Sasuke inwardly scoff.

'She probably called to chew me out about saying I knew she didn't have any plans' Sasuke thought.

"She's coming for dinner!" Mikoto exclaimed excitedly squeezing her hands together as her son stared blankly at her.

"Hn" Sasuke responded leaning back onto his bed.

"You could at least try to have a bit of a reaction to your friend joining us" Mikoto said dejectedly as she watched her son roll onto his side.

"It's no different than if Naruto were coming" Sasuke stated bluntly, making his mother scoff.

"Well if that's the case, should we worry that you and Natsumi would end up kissing?" Mikoto asked in a teasing tone that made her son stiffen.

"Mom!" Sasuke said sitting up with an annoyed expression crossing his features.

"I'm only teasing dear" Mikoto laughed. "Well dinner will be ready at 7 so make sure to pick Natsumi up beforehand" she went on before placing a loving hand on the boy's cheek before making her exit as the teen once again fell back to his bed.

'This is going to be a long night' Sasuke thought releasing a heavy sigh.

...

Meanwhile at the local University, Itachi made small talk with his friend Kisame. A rather tall young man with skin so pale it almost seemed blue with black spiky hair.

"So did your old man really mean it that we would be able to use the basement?" Kisame inquired as the pair walked across the campus courtyard.

"Yes the entire process for soundproofing the basement should be done within the next month" Itachi replied as the pair approached a tall building that housed the dorms of many students.

"Yahiko will be glad to hear that" Kisame exclaimed as the men entered the building, starting up the side staircase to avoid the main flow of traffic.

"Hn I'm sure he won't be the only one. At least we won't have to keep trying to get on the schedule for using the music room for practices or having meetings at everyone's dorms" Itachi said as the pair climbed the stairs.

"Especially since the dorm room meetings usually happen in Sasori and Deidara's room" Kisame stated earning a solemn nod from Itachi as the young men continued up the stairs.

When they finally reached their desired location, they saw they were among some of the first to arrive from their group of friends. As they entered the room they saw the only others present were that of Sasori, who wore a pair of black pants with a maroon hoodie; Deidara, who wore a pair of dark grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt; and finally Tobi, the young man who was tall with dark hair and with his face hidden by a by an orange swirly mask that only exposed one of the young man's eyes as he wore a long sleeve black turtle neck with a pair of black joggers and black running shoes. They simply starred at the scene of Deidara angrily chasing after their friend Tobi.

"He always has that mask on" Kisame commented as they observed the young man dart through the room.

"Hn" Itachi replied nodding his head in agreement.

"Tobi is sorry Deidara!" Tobi yelled jumping out of reach from the annoyed blonde that chased after him. "Tobi didn't know Deidara had those kinds of magazines under his bed" the dark haired man yelled in a childlike voice.

"Shut it Tobi!" Deidara yelled grabbing at the young man with a blush of embarrassment on his face.

"I told you to clean your side of the room before he got here" Sasori said shaking his head disapprovingly from his seat on his bed as he watched the two run throughout the room.

"You're not helping!" Deidara yelled at the redhead who simply rolled his eyes at the blonde, before he turned his attention to the pair in the door way.

"Itachi, Kisame" he said nodding towards the young men in greeting as they returned the gesture and entered the half messy room.

"Tobi is happy to see Itachi and Kisame!" the dark haired male said excitedly coming to a halt in front of the pair, before being struck on the back of the head by an angry blonde.

"You're so annoying!" Deidara yelled as Itachi and Kisame sidestepped the situation to make their way further into the room, where Itachi sat at Sasori's desk chair while Kisame sat on Deidara's unmade bed.

"Ow!" Tobi exclaimed holding his head where he was struck in his hands as Deidara made his way over to his bed to sit beside Kisame. "Tobi didn't want to make Deidara upset. Tobi thinks Deidara doesn't need those magazines, especially if Deidara gets a girlfriend" Tobi said making the blonde start to rise again before Tobi flinched into the fetal position.

"I agree with Tobi" Sasori said bluntly catching the attention of the room as they stared at him, surprised he would agree with the dark haired male. "As long as she's of legal age" Sasori went on emphasizing 'legal age', as Deidara's face lit ablaze in a blush.

"Oh is Deidara hitting on the kids at your guy's internship?" Kisame laughed slapping Deidara on the back.

"I'm not hitting on kids!" Deidara argued pushing away Kisame's hand. "There's only one girl"

"Last I checked 17 is underage" Sasori stated smugly, making an irk mark appear on the blonde's head.

"Well Natsumi is mature for her age!" Deidara retorted, sparking Itachi's interest at the mention of his brother's friend.

"Well if that doesn't sound like what predators say to justify hooking up with kids I don't know what does" Sasori retorted with another eye roll that made Deidara fume.

"Wait Natsumi-" Itachi began to inquire before being interrupted when the door once again swung open to reveal the other members of the group.

"Sorry we're late guys, let's get this Akatsuki meeting started" the upbeat voice of a certain orange haired friend rang out.

'I guess I'll have to ask later' Itachi thought as the other's filed into the small room.

...

Meanwhile Fugaku sat in his office reviewing the pictures of a dark car and pictures taken of his son's car, sent to him by his associate who he still spoke with on the phone.

"I understand for now I'll speak with Sasuke on the matter and see if we can connect anymore dots" Fugaku said before hanging up as he released a heavy sigh before rising from his seat to make his way out of his office to find his younger son. And if right on cue, Fugaku had made his way to the bottom of the staircase to see the dark haired teen walking towards the main entrance.

"Sasuke we need to discuss something now" Fugaku said in a commanding tone that immediately brought the young Uchiha to an abrupt halt before he turned around and looked to see the serious look his father wore.

"Yes father" Sasuke responded automatically as he backtracked, curious as to what his father could possibly want to discuss now.

As the dark haired teen entered the man's office again he felt that there was a much more tension than earlier as he made his way to sit in the chair in front of his father's desk with his onyx hues attentively studying the older man who stared at him with hard eyes.

"Why didn't you inform me that you were being followed?" Fugaku asked bluntly, surprising the teen at how his father came to learn this.

"I didn't think it be an issue at the time" Sasuke replied honestly as he thought back to the day he'd taken Natsumi to the lookout to discuss her family affairs.

"There was a background check requested for you from pictures of your car and plates" Fugaku informed his son.

"Hn" Sasuke replied simply.

"Is that all you have to say? This is serious Sasuke" his father chastised in a harsh tone.

"I figured it could have been paparazzi following me due to the business" Sasuke replied calmly.

"It wasn't" Fugaku scoffed. "It was an attorney from Kyoto" he went on sparking his son's interest at the last statement.

'Kyoto' Sasuke thought with the conversation he had with Natsumi replaying mentally.

"Sasuke tell me everything now" Fugaku commanded, bringing his son out of his thoughts.

"I noticed it a while back when I was with Natsumi. At the time I figured it was press that was following me, but I had to be sure and if it was I didn't want to involve her so I took the necessary measures to lose them before taking her to the Hyuga." Sasuke stated.

"Why the Hyuga?" Fugaku asked curiously.

"Natsumi is close with the heiress ... I figured that it'd be safest for her with them and their security than letting them follow her home or have her here" Sasuke said. "It didn't take long to figure out it was Natsumi that they were after though. As soon as I dropped her off, I was no longer followed. I was aware that they were keeping an eye on me so I switched out cars with Naruto a couple times and followed them until they left." Sasuke went on surprising his father at his actions.

"You did all of that for ... that was completely reckless Sasuke" Fugaku started in a shocked tone before trailing off and changing to a tone of anger. "Why was an attorney from Kyoto following Natsumi?" Fugaku asked curiously.

"Who was this attorney?" Sasuke asked raising a brow in interest.

"Mitaka" Fugaku replied.

"He's a member of Natsumi's father's legal team" Sasuke stated. "Her father must have had him tailing her to learn more about her life in Konoha and who's in it" Sasuke surmised, earning a thoughtful nod from his father.

"I want to know more" Fugaku stated simply in a softer tone as he rested his elbows on his desk and looked at his son expectantly.

"Can it wait? I'm supposed to pick up Natsumi for dinner tonight." Sasuke asked beginning to rise.

"Sasuke this is serious!" Fugaku exclaimed in a harsh tone that stopped Sasuke's actions. "This is about the integrity of the Uchiha and more importantly the safety of you and Natsumi" he went on alarming his son who now sat back into his chair. "Now tell me everything" the man said in a commanding tone.
