Out in the Pride Lands, Kion was with his family and seeing the eland herd led by Imari. These humble eland looked happy to see the royal lions as always. "Ah, hello your majesties. What brings you here?" asked the eland leader.
"We... have a little bit of a situation." said Simba. "Kion lost his memory."
Imari made a small frown, "Oh no, i'm sorry to hear that. How did that happen?" then the other lions explained to the eland leader the whole story about how he had his little... accident with the ledge in front of him. "I see. Is there anything we can do to help?"
"Well, you can help him understand eland and how we should all respect one another, food chain or not." Nala suggested.
"Excellent idea." Imari said with a smile. "So Kion, you really don't remember anything?"
"Unfortunately, no." said the cub with his head down.
"It's quite alright. Accidents happen, my boy. I am Imari, the leader of the eland herd you see behind me. We eland are a proud antelope species and we are grand protectors of the lands like many other animals are." then he was explaining other ways of life for the other antelope to Kion, and he wanted to do everything he could to get Kion's memory back.
The Next Day
Poor Kion still had his memory lost from his brain, and he still didn't know what to do mostly. Kiara was laying with him and she wanted to make sure her little brother was doing okay. Imari taught him all that he could with Kion and it did help him a little bit, but the rest he would hae to get back on his own within given time. "Kiara, I think I'm starting to remember a few things."
Kiara had a slightly hopeful smile on her face, and she asked him: "really? What did you remember about yourself?"
He couldn't exactly remember one-hundred percent about what he was thinking about in his mind. But, he ultimately answered: "I remember about grandfather Mufasa and grandma Sarabi. They were one of the greatest rulers of the Pride Lands when they were still alive, and I remember that Grandfather Mufasa was... killed by an evil lion that I can't think of the name."
This sounded like a good progress on the cub trying to retain all his memories from before he conked himself in the head by mistake. "Good. Is there anything else you remember?"
Kion had his head slightly bowing in shame. "Sadly... no."
"Well, don't worry about it." Kiara reassured. "You will get them back. I promise."
Smiling, the cub said: "good. I wonder how Kovu is going with those guys in patrolling the landscape."
Silent, Kiara didn't say anything at first. Deep down, she didn't really know what her own mate was doing as the leader of the Lion Guard. But, one thing for sure - he was trying to make the Pride Lands a better place while trying to be in Kion's footsteps. "I bet he's doing fine." she said at last.
From outside Pride Rock, a peculiar animal was visiting the area. Simba noticed this, and he went outside to greet this peculiar face. "Hello, Rani." he said. Yes, it was, indeed Rani, the future queen of the Night Pride herself possibly coming to meet Kion.
"King Simba, a pleasure as always." Rani nodded her head. "Is Kion doing okay?"
Simba frowned and looked a little uneasy. "unfortunately, he still has his memory wiped out a little bit. Although not as bad as before."
"What do you mean a bad time?" Rani frowned.
"My son accidentally fell off a ledge, landed right on his head, and he is suffering from amnesia and memory loss."
"Oh. Well, as long as he is still recovering."
"He is, I assure you.
Nala came out and she recognized the brown lioness. "Hey Rani. Coming to check on Kion?"
"Uh-huh. But Simba already told me before you, and I don't want to intrude."
"Oh no, no, you're not intruding." Nala reassured her.
"Good. But..." a new idea came into Rani's head. "Say... what if I go out with Kion and get some fresh air with him?"
Both the king and queen looked a little uneasy with him, and the king said. "I don't know."
"Wait a minute, Rani. You're not intruding. As a matter of fact, maybe you can help get Kion his memories back. Besides, I don't want to make you walk all the way back home after coming from the Back Lands to here."
Rani smiled and she said: "sure. I can help him. But, what if I can take him out on a walk with me out in the Pride Lands?"
Both parents looked a little worried about that suggestion.
"What if something ambushes him?" Nala added.
Rani made a small scoff, and she replied: "I promise you he won't get hurt with me. Sometimes a little walk can help an animal recover his memories a little faster. Besides, you said Kovu and the rest of the Lion Guard were patrolling the Pride Lands, right? I promise you I will keep an eye on him."
While they still looked a little unsure about this idea, Simba ultimately said with his mind made up: "very well Rani. Just promise is you will make sure you he won't get hurt out there if he walks with you."
The future queen of the Night Pride smiled and nodded her head before saying: "I will, your majesty. Kion will be in good paws."
Both the king and queen smiled hearing those words from Rani's mouth. "Good." said Simba. If there is a problem or if any hyenas or Kion's enemies try to give you trouble or kill you, run back here as fast as you can back here to Pride Rock. OK?"
"Got it." she went over to Kion and she sat next to him. "Hey Kion." she greeted as she laid next to him.
The young cub looked at her, and narrowed his eyebrows a little. "Hello. I remember you. Nice to see you again.?"
Rani frowned and and she said in her brain, "he has lost his memory. I should do something about this." she cleared her throat, and with her mouth to him, she said: "Remember my name? Rani? and you might not remember me, but we are friends, and..." she was slightly blushing, "we kissed, remember?"
Kion was blushing also, and he he shied his head away from her in slight embarrassment. "Really? So... you're my... my girlfriend?"
This made Rani blush an even darker red on her face. "Well... to an extent... yes."
"Ohhhh." Both of then were silent for a moment, and Kion looked at her while blushing bigger on his face, "well, Rani, if we have met she kissed before, should we kiss again?"
"Whoa whoa whoa, hold the phone." Now Rani looked even more embarrassed. "Sorry about that Kion, but... that would be way too fast for me."
"Oh! I'm sorry," he said with slight shame. "I.. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"No, it's okay. I'm not offended or anything. So anyway, I was thinking g we could go for a walk together. Some way to bring your memories back."
"That sounds like a good idea." Kion said. "Sure."
"Although your dad said to be back in a little while, and be careful with any enemies around here."
"Oh. I see." The two Cubs got back up and walked pass Simba and Nala as they headed out. "Uhhhh, guys, I'm going to head out with Rani."
"That's perfectly fine." said Nala. "Just don't be gone long."
"I won't. I can find my way back here."
Indeed, with a gigantic rock formation that looked like a small mountain in these lands, it most certainly cannot be hard to miss when looking for it. "Good." Simba said, "just be careful." Both the cubs went out the cave and enjoyed the fresh air of these lands on their stroll. The birds were chirping all around in scattered areas of the Pride Lands, and some squawking of some large birds like the storks and vultures in the air.
Maybe something dangerous wouldn't be able to pop out any time today since Kovu and Kion's friends were already patrolling for some trouble lurking about the grass. All these cubs had to do is to keep their heads about in case they accidentally stepped kn a snale or a cobra that could be camouflaged.
While walking, Kion was looking around at his surroundings and he saw many wonders and beauties of these lands. One, for instance was: a group of fifty eland walking on the grass and grazing in the fields to fill up their big bellies.
Another thing Kion saw was: a couple of whitr rhinos grazing as well on the green grass. Thanks to the rains, everything grew larger and greener than before. Yes, it was certainly that time of year again with the storms.
"So, you really don't really remember anything?" she asked him.
"Sorry Rooney."
"Rani."
"Oh, right, sorry Rani, but I don't really remember many things right now. I remember my grandparents and who killed my grandfather, but I am still trying to remember everything else that happened in my life."
"Don't sweat, Kion." Rank remarked. "This walk will help get your memories back."
"I hope so."
