The Battle for the Pride Lands was a rather exhausting battle for ole Janja and his little clan of spotted hyenas. Chungu, Cheezi, and their leader were all conflicted in their heads about what Kion said to the three scavengers before the battle commenced. All three of these hyenas were thinking deeply in their heads about what the cub said before. "Hey Janja, what if we could be friends with Kion and the Lion Guard?"

"Not gonna happen." Janja scoffed. "I doubt they would let us in. They know who we are and what we do to them. Kion and his royal parents won't let us eat whatever we want. All we ask is to eat a zebra or antelope, but do they let us get what we want? No! Nothing at all."

"But what if they are right about the Circle of Life being broken if we hunted whatever we want." Chungu said. "Eating carrion doesn't taste that bad."

"Well, I said this was only a temporary truce, genius." The leader reminded. "Inuwa seemed more powerful than we were, even if we used our muscles to the full limit. But Kion is my sworn enemy, and I have no plants to give that pipsqueak a "kiss of thanks" for stopping Inuwa.

"Well, I don't know," Cheezi admitted.

"What?"

"You remember all the plans you did before to stop Kion and the guard to teach them a lesson?"

"How can I not?" Janja growled and he had a begrudging look on his face. He was not really exploding with anger, or has no plans to hurt his own friends, so he took his anger on his friends a little bit. "Why are you even asking me that?"

"Because..." Chungu began to explain first, "because we are both tired from how much we were getting beat up by the Lion Guard."

"And they helped us against Inuwa" Cheezi added..

"whatever," said Janja. Sounding a little annoyed. "But I am not going to help them difficult Pride Landers. They probably don't have a place for us in the Pride Lands anyway. And besides, we all know that we only helped out because it could have been the end of us. It was either us or Inuwa that would be able to survive."

"Well I'm tired of getting beaten by the Lion Guard too, Janja. Maybe we should... you know... throw in the towel?" Cheezi nervously suggested to his own friend.

"And lose to those twerps? I think not." Ole Janja sounded too prideful in his rivalry with Kion and his best friends. They have defeated him countless times over and over again in the past. No, it sounded like he would rather die than just make a truce with the Pride Landers and their way of life. "I would rather eat my own bones off my feet."

It was silent again for a moment, but he looked at how Chungu and Cheezi were looking sad and tired of how they were getting whipped by the heroic kids. They have all tried everything in getting what they want to eat and getting foiled over and over again was getting really annoying fast. Having a change of heart going inside of him, Janja did not want to be foiled by being defeated in trying to kill and eat a large giraffe or buffalo.

Feeling defeated on the inside, Janja sighed and he realized that it would be the same since they were always losing to Kion. "Well... alright." he said. "They did fight pretty well against Inuwa and his army in the battle."

Cheezi and Chungu gave a smile of hope to him in gratitude.

"I'm starting to get a little tired of these conflicts myself."

"Thank you, Janja." said Chungu

"Yeah, if ya can't beat them; join them, join them." Cheezi added.

"I doubt we will be joined, but I am running out of prospects on how we can get the food we want to chow down on. What are we going to do? Grow wings and learn to fly?"

"We can do that?" said Chungu. "Maybe I can grow the wings myself!" he sounded rather excited to speculate what Janja meant. Straining and hurting himself on the inside, Janja rolled his eyes, not looking amused at all. "Uhhh, Chungu?"

"Yeah?"

"IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!" the lead hyena sounded rather exasperated. "You guys just know how to drive me crazy."

"It's not our fault, Janja. We try to help you out. You're our friend."

"Yes, I know. But you could at least say something more productive. That would be a nice change for us all."

Meanwhile

Kion and Rani were still having a romantic time together in the snow. Nothing could possibly happen between them, minus the snow falling. It was like walking in a winter wonderland. "So when we get back, I need to be with my parents. They can worry both me too much at times."

"Sure Rani. I don't want to get you in trouble for missing curfew." Kion admitted. "Just thinking about if your dad screams at you for being late."

"Oh, he doesn't scream. No, he's more like the zcolding, or lecturing type of lion. He would never scream at me if I did something really awful."

"Ok. But we still got plenty of time before we go back down in the valley. I mean, come on. Let's enjoy being together for a little longer."

Rani smiled before saying: "sure, Kion. That would he fun. Both the lions began throwing snowballs at each other and they were having a big blast in trying to land the snowball on the opponents' faces. Ao far, Rani keeps attacking in a surprise attack and tickling jim sometimes.

"Not again!" Kion laughed. "Not the tickling again!"

The brown lioness was taking advantage of thr tickling a little, and she was having a blast in making him laugh. At last when it was over, the two lion said Farwell for now to Sokwe and his gorilla sons before heading down in the valley.
