Somewhere in the Outlands, Kion and Rani were still following Heri down a narrow path. It was a rather more rocky area out here in the Outlands, and there was the faint sound of cawing heard in a far distance. It sounded like a crow or a raven's cackling far away, and Heri immediately stopped hearing the faint sounds of the cackling where he was standing. "Oh no." said Heri. "It's those stupid crows. I know the sounds of pied crows when I hear their calls." Kion and Rani were ready to take on those black and white passerines. Yes, Pied crows are known for having a white torso on their bodies, differing from other crow species.

Crows wouldn't be so much of a challenge as much as some vultures would be like Mzingo and his pals would be. "How much further, Heri?" asked Rani

"Not that far now. I've known these lands all my life, and i know it well." Heri said boldly. "Me and my family always know how to navigate in the Outlands, and we call ourselves drifters sometimes."

"You've been in the Pride Lands before?" asked Kion

"Of course. Countless times. If there are no food in the Outlands, we striped hyenas have to look for any given opportunities to look for any dead animals. What you predators eat, we carrion eaters take care of the rest... and the maggots after."

"Good point," Kion agreed, "Well-made point.

Feeling ready for a fight, Heri had his long, narrow mane up, which was a common characteristic for striped hyenas to have in them. Yes, Heri was more than ready to get rid of those scoundrel crows that are terrorizing his poor family. Those crows sounded like a nuisance and a thorn on Heri's side for a long time. Alas, their little terrorizing ways will come to an end in just a moment, as soon as the three rushed over to Heri's family's aid

At ast, there was a small cave in the area where a couple of hyenas were hiding in. In the sky above the cave, there were three pied crows hovering above the area. Indeed, they were pied crows since they had the white torsos on them. "Come out and play!" said the first crow

"You can't hide in that hovel forever!" a second one in a higher voice added

"Just get out here so we can eat those kids already!" the third one added, having the lowest voice out of the three. "Or we're gonna have to come in there and eat them ourselves!"

"Get out of here you stupid rats with wings!" said a female hyena, which had to be Heri's wife. "I'll rip your wings out if you hurt my babies!"

"Ooh hoo hoo! i would like to see you try, lady!" the first crow taunted.

Kion and Rani and Heri frowned at how those hyenas were being tortured. Gritting his teeth in anger, Kion hated seeing animals being pushed around like that, along with his girlfriend. They both had their ears down in fury and they rushed over to the cave. "Hey! Pick on somebody your own size!" The crows looked down on who ordered them like this, and they landed on the ground

"Well," said the second crow. "What do we have here?"

"My name is-" the cub was suddenly interrupted by the passerine ringleader

"Oh we know all about you, Kion of the Lion Guard." the leader looked smug. "All the accomplishments you have done, and how you and your little posse help any animal in need. Well, you are just a goody two-paws."

"I am not a goody two-paws!" the male cub sounded rather offended. "I... just have a respect for authority. That's it."

"What's the difference, squirt?" the third crow taunted before he and his two other friends laughed, making the cub more angry.

"Who are you guys anyway?" Rani said

"Name's Kung'ara." the first crow answered

"Mzoga." the second one added.

"And I am Ndege." the third one finished

"Well leave this hyenas alone or you will have to face my anger." Kion narrowed his eyes.

"Ooh, is that the toughest talk you have?" Kung'ara taunted some more. "Pathetic! I know idle threats when I see them. And Idle threats do not work on us in any way. Wouldn't you say, boys?"

"Yeah!"

"Believe me." said Kion. "I never make idle threats."

"Oh. Like we said, Kion," Kung'ara looked smug again. "We know all about you and your little posse of protectors. We will not have you get in the way of our dinner." then the three crows looked ready for a fight as if it would be nothing more than child's play. Unfortunately for these passerines, it was where they were all wrong.

"I won't let you terrorize my family!" Heri stepped up.

"Ugh, it's you." said Mzoga.

"Are you ready to die with them?" Ndege asked cruelly

"No. But you guys are the ones about to be put to rest. You stupid birds are about to be cooked into roasted crows for dinner."

"We'll see about that." then a fight ensued. Kion was fighting with Ndege, Rani was facing off against Mzoga while Heri was facing off against Kung'ara. It was a rather tough battle. Young Kion had to dodge many swipes from the larger raven with his claws, but almost a minute, he managed to bite down on his neck, killing him instantly

"Ndege!" the second crow looked in shock as he saw the corpse of his own friend. He looked angrily at Kion and shouted: "You're dead!" before he could charge at him, Rani made a large jump and swiped her claws at him with full force, knocking him radically off-course and hitting his head into a boulder, killing him as well.

Kung'ara looked on in shock as he saw his own two cronies get killed by these two young lions. "I will so kill you guys for this!" he then started attacking Rani with a painful swipe of his talons on the right side of her torso, making her yell in pain

"Rani!" Kion looked in shock.

Heri was also shocked and then became angry. The crow was about to get it for messing with his new friends." at last, the striped hyena swiped his paws at him, and it knocked him into a rock wall, injuring him and clipping his wing

"gah! I broke my wing!" shouted the pied crow. He looked and saw three angry mammals looking at him and the crow knew that he couldn't defeat them now. "Wait, wait! Let's just talk about this!"

"There's nothing to talk about." said Heri, placing his paws on the bird's torso. "You threaten my family. And if you mess with them, you mess with me."

"Please just let me go!" Kung'ara begged. "I promise you I will leave you guys alone forever. I promise!"

"After all that you have done? You want me to let you go? This is obviously a lie."

"Wait," Kion intervened. "His wing is broken. I don't think he'll be able to fly."

"Yeah yeah yeah! Exactly. You really clocked me there. Ow."

Heri looked reluctant but he took a breath and said: "Fine. I'll let you live. But I never want to see you ever again."

"Consider it done." the pied crow nodded his head rapidly. "You have my word."

As soon as the three mammals had their backs on him to check on Heri's family, the crow had a sneaky smile on his face and prepared to attacked the striped hyena with a pounce. His talons were more than ready to slice Heri's eyes out, but then the hyena caught sight of it and bit on his neck, killing him off. At last the crows were down and the family of striped hyenas had nothing to worry about anymore.
