Kion and his mother were done catching some prey for the whole day, and the day after, the lion cub was back to leading the Lion Guard for another patrol to make sure the Pride Lands are as peaceful as ever. Since after Inuwa has been defeated, Kion was taking his role as the leader of the Lion Guard more seriously than ever (because the Inuwa affair scarred him on the inside, at the thought of almost losing his family forever). His own friends noticed his more-than-ever serious attitude about being a protector of the Pride Lands and they were a little concerned about him.
"Hey, Kion?" said Bunga, walking up to him after seeing his best friend look in a small, round role, like a a rabbit or a springhare would hide in as his home. "Are you feeling ok?"
"Yep! Never better, Bunga." Kion replied in a rather jumpy voice. "Just making sure that there are no dangers here, and there could be a venomous scorpion living in that hole. Or a cobra, or a baboon spider." To his friends, Kion was sounding a little paranoid. "Always good to be careful in case something sneaks up on you."
The young honey badger went to his side and said: "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, you sound a little... on the edge." Fuli replied.
Poor Kion sounded a little offended and looked at the cheetah girl. Ultimately, he sighed in defeat and said: "I'm sorry, guys. I'm just trying to be more of a good leader. I know that I beat him, but i can't forget how you guys were brainwashed by Inuwa before I defeated him."
All of his close friends looked guilty and sad at what poor Kion has been through. "Come on," said Beshte, "you killed Inuwa with your grandfather and your ancestors. You shouldn't have to worry about him anymore."
"Yeah, just let it go." Ono added. "It's over now and everything will be fine."
"Besides, we took down Reirei and her family a little while back." said Bunga. "Those guys are just annoying."
"Yeah, they don't seem like a threat as they used to be." Fuli remarked with a smirk. "Now there are just becoming a pain in the butt."
"I know. I know I should just let this all go, but... I... I don't really have the words." he slowly turned away from his friends. "I don't think this is something I will forget eventually. I mean, you guys understand."
"We know." said his friends in unison
"But hey, just remember the good times we have together as best friends." Bunga said. "You and us against the world."
"Bunga's right." said Fuli said with a smile. "We all care about you and nothing will ever change that. Besides, Inuwa was too strong for us to control from his magic."
"I know. I can never be mad at you guys." the cub sighed. "I can never be mad at my own family either. They were just... suffering on the inside."
"There you go!" said Ono. "Always remember that."
"Hey fellas." said a voice. It was Kibango, the male serval. "Hope I am not interrupting anything."
"No, you're fine." said Kion
The serval smiled and said: "I just wanted to say hi to you guys. I noticed you all coming around where I lived and wanted to see you. And I also wanted to see how Kion was doing."
"Well, I am doing fine." said the lion cub. "And... I feel like a real hero saving the Pride Lands from Inuwa and his evil influence. I think... I'll be remembered for as long as the Pride Lands will continue to exist."
"You know what," said Kibango encouragingly, "I think you are right. You really are a true hero, Kion." he gently laid a paw on the cub's back. "Kion, you have done of the greatest things in the Pride Lands ever."
"You saw my roar, Kibango?"
"How could I not?" the serval chuckled. "Everyone in the whole lands saw that. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. If you ask anyone, they will definitely say; yes, we have seen the biggest roar of the elders ever."
Kion smiled at getting the recognition from Kibango the serval. Indeed, the roar was one of the most powerful things he had ever done in his life. He doubt that it might ever happen again. "Thank you, Kibango. I'm still trying to recover from all of the evil going on in the last couple of days. I know I should be happy but... i was scared, and I never felt so scared in all my life. I thought..."
Kibango gave him a great look of sympathy. "You'll be okay Kion." he said. "But hey, you want to know what you should do when you have been through so much?"
"What's that?" asked Bunga
"Nap. Yep, just take a little nap and dream the whole day away if you want. I mean, you are a lion after all, and lions are heavy sleepers."
"Good point." said Kion with a smirk. "My dad can sleep for a whole day if he wants. Sometimes, he can be hard to wake up."
"That would not surprise me." Kibango. "Mufasa was also a heavy sleeper too. My parents knew him before."
"Yeah. I know. But, ok, I guess I can take a nap. Besides, there's nothing else dangerous here anymore. We took down those stupid jackals a little while ago, so why not?"
"There you go! Just do that." Kibango said.
At Pride Rock
Kion yawned and he was feeling more tired after all that patrolling and he found a nice spot to take a nap in. Kiara went up to him, and said: "Hi Kion. How was your patrol?"
"It was fine. I think I should just take a little nap to help my get over Inuwa more."
Kiara frowned, and she knew that her own little brother was still a little traumatized after all that had happened to him. "OK. I understand. It's probably a good idea to take a nap." she said
The cub smiled and said: "OK." he yawned and readied himself in an adorable position while laying down like a house-cat. Kiara thought he was so adorable and decided to nap with him, for he looked too precious in this kind of position.
