Out in the Dream World version of the Pride Lands, Kion and Mufasa looked at the giraffes migrating, which towered many things over the African savanna, along with the number of baobab scattered across these very lands. Indeed, Kion felt a little bit like a king himself, even if he didn't want to be one in the first place, and Mufasa knows that very well that Kion wouldn't want a job like that. No, Kion was just fine being the leader of the current Lion Guard and protecting any animal in need of it with his close friends and allies.

Deep down, the cub wondered if he should expand the Lion Guard a little more since there were more threats out there than before: Ramses and the Lions bane, Reirei and her family of jackals, and other lone, dangerous adversaries that would want to kill and eat more than they can count. Yes, maybe Kion should get more friends or other animals to be apart of his team in the Lion Guard.

Mufasa was looking down on his grandson, and sat with him. "I guess it was kinda stressful being a king, grandfather." said Kion

The deceased king couldn't help but chuckle and admitted, "Yes. While I loved all of my subjects, it can certainly be a stressful job being the king over the Pride lands, and it's wonderful inhabitants. Along with trying to make sure the hyenas stay in the Outlands to make sure they did not disrupt the balance of the Circle of Life. Admittedly, i did not really want to do that, but i was-"

"I know. You were just following what the Circle of Life told you to do." Kion smiled.

The king smiled back to him, and said: "Yes. Like I have mentioned, I have no animosity towards hyenas. Admittedly, I should have seen those three hyenas when they were secretly working with my brother to take the throne for himself."

"Oh grandfather," said Kion. "It wasn't your fault. You said it yourself."

"True. I did say that. No one was to blame for what happened to me, not even your father. Scar manipulated everyone. He was a really clever lion, and a brilliant schemer. Alas, it was all in the past, and the past cannot be changed."

"Well, I wish there was a way to cure dad of the nightmares of what happened in the gorge. He really misses you so much, grandfather. I know he sees you in spirit, but it would be nice if he could see you physically just one last time. It would make him the happiest lion I would ever see before."

Mufasa bowed his head with a slight frown, and said: "I know, Kion. Believe me, I would love to see Simba in the flesh as well. It would be like old times together when he was your age, but not as much as... causing trouble. But, you and I both know it cannot be possible, so I am sorry."

"Don't be sorry. I mean, a lion can dream, right? Like what I'm doing right now."

Chuckling some more, Mufasa said: "Exactly. I know it is not really anything compared to reality, but it can still be just as nice."

It was silent for at least a minute, and Kion was looking a this surroundings. "Grandfather?"

"Yes?"

"Are you still proud of me for killing Inuwa with your help and the kings of the past?"

"Of course I am, Kion. You are my grandson, and I love you. No matter what you do, you will always make me proud."

"Well, I have made a few mistakes before."

"We all make mistakes, grandson. We are all animals at heart. No animals are perfect on the inside, good or evil. All we can do is learn from them and move on with our lives. It will do you no good in living in the past. If you keep living in the past then-"

"There will be no hope in the future for you." Kion smiled. "Dad told me that."

"Good. I am glad that your father remembers my teachings that I have passed on to him. So, what I am trying to say is: I will always love you and be proud of you, Kion, no matter what will happen."

"So will I," said a female voice. It was Sarabi that looked very alive like her mate was, coming towards him and Kion. The lion cub was happy to see his deceased grandmother, especially looking alive as if she had never died at all. She, and Mufasa. "I am also proud of what you have accomplished against Inuwa."

"Thank you, grandmother." said Kion very gratefully. "Although I might... falter a little bit on a few things, would you guys still be proud of me?"

"Of course we will. No matter how hard or difficult it will be for you, we will always be proud of you. Never give up and give it all you have got against your enemies." said Sarabi warmly. "I will always love you like your grandfather does. Always remember."

"I will." Kion smiled. "I know this is a dream, but this looks real."

"At least you can actually meet us physically in your dreams." the past queen winked at her grandson.

"If there was a way for you guys to somehow become alive for a day or at least a few hours, would you take the chance?"

"Absolutely." said Mufasa. "If it was that simple, me and your grandmother would go all the way to be alive again for even the littlest while. But as I said, it doesn't seem possible."

"I know. And besides, at least dad knows you will be there for him like you are there for me."

"Exactly." Sarabi pointed.

"So, you might have watched me, but I made a few striped hyena friends, and they weren't really like Janja and his gang before they reformed."

"Indeed, we have saw that, Kion." said Mufasa. "And I am rather proud you have been learning more about hyenas than before, especially a different kind of hyena and how they live. I have known a number of striped hyenas, and they were rather friendly towards most animals and followed the Circle of Life."

"Yeah, but maybe because they are smaller than their spotted cousins." Kion admitted

"Possibly, sweetie." Sarabi agreed, "They know not to mess with a lion, and they do keep their distance instead of fighting us. But it is good to see that Janja has reformed from bad to good."

"I didn't really think he would surrender like this." the cub admitted

"Some things happen the way you do not expect them too." Mufasa remarked, "good or bad."
