Dearest Readers,

I will admit it has been a long time since I thought about updating this story, though I believe I have been bullied long enough to just give y'all an update. Maybe next time don't flood my inboxes or comment sections because you want an update, it adds a lot of anxiety that I definitely already have.

Also, I was made aware that Andie does not seem to be a "charismatic" or "interesting" character. I just decided to make her a tad bit more realistic so sorry for not generating another "Mary Sue" for others to rip on as well.

Pahahahahahaaha sorry I'm just so done with dealing with perfect characters. According to my therapist, perfection doesn't exist, so (even in a fictional world) don't expect it.

I was also made aware that I was character bashing, which is something that I actually don't believe to be true. The Twilight books were written from Bella's perspective, but if one looks into the details of her actions they can be considered childish. Same with Jacob Black… who also is basically the age of a child at this time along with Andie Jackson.

I am simply writing from another perspective where the childishness is further drawn out, and obviously devastating some hard-core fans. I felt I deserved to clear the air, so if you wish I could write a report on just how abusive and dependent these characters are but I really would rather not (let me know if you want one anyway, but I'll probably just direct you to illustrations of violent relationships and depictions of emotional abuse).

Besides, this is just the beginning of the story, so don't judge the characters too harshly before they even have a chance to grow.

Without further adieu, here is the next chapter for you!

XOXO Ally Layne.

Bad Moon Rising

Chapter 7: Tantrums and Broken Noses

On the way to Emily's, the boys were being just as rowdy as one would expect from a bunch of pups. I was just glad that Jacob Black wasn't involved in this little shindig, but that's probably because I was the one to piss him off so much he had to leave.

I still had no clue as to what made him that mad.

I literally just looked at the guy and he blew up. Anger issues, much?

Though, it's not like I have the right to say much about anger issues. My father is literally the god of one of the moodiest things on the earth- the oceans and seas. Not to mention he's also the god of earthquakes, too. That just makes me a recipe for disaster.

"So Jacob has the hots for Bella, huh?" I asked the pack, seeing their smiles widen slightly at my sarcastic tone.

Embry threw an arm around my shoulder. "He has practically been in love with her all his life, so it's a little obvious that he's protective over her-"

"Even though the girl just uses him to get over her ex," Quil added, raising a brow at Embry. "He needs to move on and find someone else to make puppy eyes at."

Jared nodded. "Hopefully it'll be someone who doesn't try and steer him away from his friends all the time, either."

Embry rolled his eyes at Jared before looking back at me. "So what did you do to him anyway? I hadn't heard him that pissed off since-"

Quil cut him off again, "Bella told him she was in love with a Va-"

Jared elbowed Quil in the gut, not allowing him to finish the word. "Her ex."

I pursed my lips. Something definitely was rotten in the state of LaPush. And I think I knew exactly what it was.

Puppy eyes, Pack, Va…. Valerie? Nah, Bella is definitely not a lesbian. She didn't even bat an eyelash at me and my demigod good looks attracted all kinds of people.

I wondered if her ex had some sort of weird taboo around here and no one was allowed to speak of him. What would someone have to do to get an entire small town to hate them so much?

"I did nothing," I told them, picking at a hangnail that was sticking out along the side of my thumb. "I just looked at him and he went off the rails."

They all paused in their steps, looking over at me slowly. All of their faces wore looks of disbelief. "You looked at him?" Jared asked, making sure to articulate his words properly. "Looked at him as in you met eyes?"

I nodded.

His face went white, but a small smile was crossing his face.

Embry's eyebrows skyrocketed. "Your eyes met, eye on eye. Like…"

I sighed. "Yes, our eyes locked and whatever. It was weird, okay? And then all of the sudden he decided to just start yelling at me and insinuated I was worthless."

Their faces tightened at my words, and worry seemed to seep into Embry's features. "He rejected you that badly?"

I threw my hands up in the air. "I thought you said you heard him!"

Quil crossed his arms while looking at the two other boys in the group. "I had a feeling if he had the… you know, that it would be bad if it wasn't Bella," he admitted. "I just didn't think it would be this bad."

I ran another hand through the top of my hair, scowling when one of my nails pulled a piece of hair out from my ponytail. "Look, I have no idea what you guys are saying, and I have half a mind to walk away right now-"

Embry put his hands up pleadingly. "No, no, no, you don't want to do that."

"Besides, even if you don't want to come with us, Emily told us to take you hostage," Jared added in his gleeful monotone.

"Oh, look who it is, Black's little impritee!"

I looked over Quil and Embry's shoulder to see Paul walk out from the woods with a smirk on his face.

I was pretty sure I didn't like the guy, especially since he was talking about something I didn't know about and it most definitely involved me.

This was getting annoying.

Like, really annoying.

"How do you know?" Embry asked, looking at the other "pack member" in just the amount of annoyance I was currently feeling. Good to know that it wasn't just me.

Though, it was probably for different reasons.

"I was sent out by Sam to try and calm Black down, that's how," Paul scowled. "And he was practically showing me exactly what happened," he claimed, eyeing me even further. "He was very, very angry by this change of events."

I scowled, making Paul's smirk grow even further.

Quil decided to take the moment to ask, "Is he going to reject the, well, you know-"

"The imprint?" Paul asked, and I watched as Quil gave the older man a glare. "Yeah, he's planning on rejecting it." His dark eyes raked over my figure. "Though I have no idea why he w+++++ould ever do such a thing when his imprint is as hot as she is."

I pursed my lips. "I am no one's anything, pretty boy."

He let out a wolfish laugh. "I doubt that's something you'll be claiming for too long, Princess."

My glare sharpened. "At least the position will never be claimed by someone like you."

"You would die to be able to give me a go, sweetheart. But don't worry, you're not the only one to have such explicit desires like that," Paul falsely assured.

"Paul, that's enough," Jared told the other man shortly. "This is crossing the line, you know the rules."

His face remained in the cold smirk as he barely batted an eyelash at Jared's statement. "Little boy Black has made his thoughts about her clear enough, kid. She's free game."

I scowled. "I told you-"

"You are no one's anything, that right?" Paul mocked.

"You couldn't take me, not figuratively, and definitely not literally."

His eyes widened slowly, as he watched my fists clench at my sides. "Is that you asking for a fight, Princess?"

I heard the protests come from behind me as I grinned maniacally at him. "What, you think you can take me?"

Paul licked his lips at my testing words, and I knew I had him. Now, all that's left is to morbidly embarrass him in front of his friends, and then all will be well in my book.

"Andie, he'll kill you," Quil whispered my way, but I only smiled at him knowingly.

"No, Quil, he won't."

Embry let out a choked laugh that sounded somewhat like a bark. "Uh, yes, Andie, he will."

I tilted my neck to the side and let out a sigh when it cracked blissfully. When I looked at them again, they were still wearing their solemn faces of worry. "Look, to actually beat me he'll have to get a hit in. That's something I know he won't be able to do."

Paul sauntered over even closer and crossed his arms. "What're you waiting for, Princess? Scared?

"Actually we're just trying to save both your asses and convince her to not do something stupid," Jared deadpanned.

Paul rolled his eyes. "Even if Black got involved-"

Quil and Embry's eyes both widened. "Especially if Jake got involved," Embry muttered. His eyes flickered down at mine and he put his hands on my shoulders. "We don't have time to explain this all to you, but this could start something really, really bad-"

"Or it could just teach that punk a valuable lesson," Paul mocked.

I grunted. "Oi! I'm not a punk!"

He rolled his eyes. "Not talking about you, Princess."

Jared took a few steps forward to stand in between the two of us. "Look, Paul, even if you want to teach Jake a lesson this isn't the way to do it."

I sighed, taking off my drawstring bag and rolled up my sleeves to prepare for delivering a massive beat down. "Jared, get out of the way."

He shook his head. "No, Andie, don't even think about doing this. It's too stupid-"

I rolled my eyes, took a few steps forward, and shoved him out of my way. "Too bad my middle name happens to be stupid."

Paul let out a bark of laughter. "Bring it on, kid."

I smiled. "Sorry about this, Paulie. Hopefully, there won't be any hard feelings."

He opened his mouth to say something, but before he could move, I was already there, delivering a swift punch to the nose, sending blood shooting into the air at the audible crack.

Gasps could be heard, and a growl sounded from his throat.

That's it… Show me the wolfie, prove to me that you are what I think you are…

He lunged my way and I ducked underneath his quick jab to my own nose before launching a swift kick to his family jewels, causing him to let out a low groan and hunch over.

The others were laughing, now.

It became obvious I was playing with the poor bastard.

But when Paul looked up, there was a mixture of fury and slight awe in his eyes.

"What? Want to give up?" I taunted, making it easy for the man to give in to his inner wolf and turn to the fury for the raw power I didn't doubt lurked underneath.

I barely moved quick enough to get out of his warpath, and used his anger and strength against him, lowering myself and grabbing his arm to send him flipping over my shoulder, following with a knee into his chest and an elbow to his throat.

"Holy shit-"

"Did that just happen?"

"What the…"

I laughed at the harsh snarl that escaped his throat. "Give it a rest, pretty boy. I won."

At my words, the wolf seemed to disappear in his eyes, and the Paul that had joked around with me earlier and called me a Princess returned. It was quite the sight, and it was one that had me standing up and holding out a hand to him.

"No hard feelings?"

Suddenly, as soon as Paul grabbed my hand, his eyes widened at something over my shoulder and dropped my grasp as soon as our hands touched.

Before I could turn around to see what spooked him, a large, hulking figure jumped over me and landed on Paul, who was already in a vulnerable position.

At the sound of my gasp, Embry was quick to pull me backward and let the two men brawl. One, being Paul, and the other being Jacob Black.

What in the name of Hades was that loser doing here?

Bella came running up from behind us with wide eyes and a gasp crossed her lips. "What is Paul doing to him?"

I rolled my eyes, ignoring the obvious blunderous statement. "Let him go, Black!"

He was now hovering over Paul and landing blow after blow on the man, growling and grunting into every hit.

Paul, for his part, was merely choking out bloody laughs. "So much for rejecting the imprint, kid."

At those words, Jake seemed to realize what he was doing and stopped in the middle of his blood rage. I winced at the visible bruises that littered Paul, knowing that I had more mercy on the man than Black ever did.

He jumped up from where he was on the ground and backed away from the scene, rubbing his bloodied fists into his now-ripped shirt. "You stay the hell away from her."

I noted that Bella looked awfully confused from the corner of my eye, but I directed my fury toward the one deserving of it.

Paul had a similar idea. "Considering how you treated her I probably could say the same thing to you."

Embry and Quil had released their holds on my shoulders and now were giving Black angry looks at the reminder of what he had told me.

Jared, for his part, merely looked annoyed at the younger man.

"I don't need anyone defending me, I can do it for myself, thank you very much," I claimed, stomping over to stand in front of Jacob Black for a second time today. "And if you ever try to hurt my friends again, I will happily kill you."

He sneered, but something had changed in his eyes.

To be honest, I didn't even bother trying to decipher what it was. He was being a jerk, and jerks deserve to be dealt with.

So, I delivered a swift punch to his nose, just like I did to Paul, and smiled at the crunch that came from my fist.

The shock of the hit seemed to have knocked him down, and I looked down at the pathetic man with slightly sad eyes. "That's for calling me nothing and for yelling at me for no reason. I mean, c'mon, dude. Where's the dignity?"

Bella was screeching something and had run over to try and help Jacob who batted her shaking hands away. Her brown eyes turned to glare at me, and I merely grinned back at her.

"Even you should admit that he definitely deserved that," I told her, making the brunette go on another short rampage.

The others, however, were looking at me and my fists in awe.

It was like they were looking at some sort of god but little did they know, I was only half of one.

"Damn, Jake, it looks like you're gonna have your hands full with this one," Embry said, looking down at his pitiful friend with a shit-eating grin plastered on his face.

I punched his shoulder, making the moron have to try and keep his balance and glared at me for my actions. "His hands are going nowhere near me until he lightens up," I claimed, crossing my arms in defiance of whatever idea these idiots have running around in their brains. "And even if he lightens up, I'll cut off anything of his that so much as comes near me."

With those words hanging in the air, I stomped away from the bloody scene with my chin up in defiance, ignoring the chuckles and snorts coming from those I left behind.

I was definitely going to need an icepack for my hands. Hopefully, Emily kept those in stock, or they were going to get a glimpse of my powers too prematurely for my liking.
