A/N Hello everyone how have you been? Now I'm going to apologize for the delay because I know a lot of you were expecting new chapters in March and April but unfortunately school has been kicking my ass like you wouldn't believe.
Anyway, so I don't know if any of you know about my harassment PM's from certain douche bag who bashed me in my other story 'You are the Mother' but they have decided to read almost all my stories including this one and told me Rachel's pregnancy is unrealistic and if my story was in book form they'd like to shove it down my throat so I can choke on it and die while they laugh in my face.
My question is, why do you keep reading stories created by an author you seriously don't like but read the stories in general? So yeah, you can go now asshole.
I'm not foolish by any means, seeing as how a lot of you have expressed the same thing. Rachel's pregnancy is unrealistic but let me be the first to tell you that's it's very possible to have a small belly not only in the beginning stages but also through your entire pregnancy. Because no one even knew I was pregnant or had a baby until my kid was four months old.
I'll explain further, I've always been a tomboy. I wore XXL hoodie's very large baggy sweatpants or jeans and no one could actually see my figure.
I, myself couldn't even tell I was pregnant through my clothes. I didn't actually really show until I was eight weeks before I was due. Hell I didn't even have stretch marks until my nine week mark.
My point is, there are women that don't even know they're pregnant do to irregular periods or p.c.o.s (polycystic syndrome) or they are more on the plus size.
There are also women like me who thought their baby wasn't developing properly and was scared something was wrong because I wasn't showing like I believed other women do. You know, like look like a giant whale.
Pregnancy is different for a lot of people and also when no one is paying attention to you, guess what? They don't notice.
Now to clear this up in the story. Rachel was a freshman when she got pregnant. In my head it was November to be exact because her son was born in August.
Which means her first trimester began right when holiday vacation begins. In that time she discovers she's pregnant.
Now glee club didn't really come together until sophomore year however if you pay attention while you're reading this particular story.
I didn't get Quinn pregnant by Puck until mid junior year. I that so that it fit the fact that Rachel's been keeping her son a secret for two years, showing Quinn that she is very good at keeping secrets in hopes to gain Quinn's trust to get her to move in.
If you pay more attention, in this story a lot of the things that happened on glee happens at different times than their original time line and I didn't give specific dates because well to be honest that shit is annoying to write.
Because I understand there are a lot of 'literal' people out in the world who take dates and times and attack you for possibly missing one digit from the fictional clock in their heads that they're reading in your story so then they chew your head off for that one digit. It's not because they're being harsh it's because it's because it's part of their personality. So something so miniscule you might be a big deal for them so I try very hard to be conscious about things of that nature.
Another thing is, when I came up with this story I had preplanned somethings which I still plan to do. Like I'm going to have Rachel speak to one of the other characters and explain further how she hid her pregnancy but that wasn't going to come until later but now that this asshole needed to let me know they're reading my other stories. Ill give you a little more details.
In freshman year Rachel had zero friends at McKinley even in the actual show. I believe it was either season five or six when they basically do flashbacks of when how a few glee members met in freshman year or whatever.
I personally couldn't sit through it because it wasn't for me, so I didn't actually finish it but I digress.
Anyway, in that episode Rachel literally has no friends. Same in my story other than the kids she met prior to being pregnant who obviously don't go to McKinley. I decided to keep the timeline when glee started to actually come together in sophomore year but not do Quinn's pregnancy until later.
So Rachel wasn't even a blip on any of their radars because none of them were actually in glee together or hung out in any way.
Rachel is also unpopular as fuck and so was basically invisible to people around that time since Quinn, Santana, And Britney weren't aware of her to target her. Rachel, in my story, was also doing her best at that time to hide her pregnancy which later will be explained some more, like I said but I don't want to ruin it for the people who are waiting for more chapters.
Last but not least, once again I'm going to reiterate for the asshole in my PM's that this is FICTION NOT REAL LIFE AND I CAN WRITE WHAT THE FUCK I WANT, WHEN EVER I WANT AND I SAY RACHEL HID HER PREGNANCY WELL! SO DO US ALL A FAVOR AND LEAVE IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!
Now for my reader's who are AWESOME I promise I have been writing in between school work.
I haven't posted anything because some of them aren't finished and some of them that are finished need to be edited. I just haven't had time.
So here is this chapter for now. I'm almost done with another chapter for a different story which will be up soon.
Also 'You are the Mother' fans I'm half way through writing the chapter for it. I have most definitely not abandoned that story so keep your eyes peeled.
Anyway, I'll end this here. I apologize to all of you for my crazy rant but whoever that is, is pissing me off.
I don't own glee or any of it's characters or story lines.
"God Quinn, What do you have in here, a dead body?" Rachel grunted as she dropped the box to the floor of the basement.
Quinn chuckled. "No, they're books. It says so right there on the box and I told you to get the trolley but did you listen? No. Why? Because as you so stubbornly and I quote put it "I Got this, Quinn."
"Ha ha, very funny." Rachel snarked sarcastically.
The two had gone to Quinn's storage unit earlier that morning just as dawn approached to make sure no one spotted them coming back.
It took four trips using both Quinn's SUV and Rachel's car to move it all. They had chosen not to rent a U-haul as to not draw attention to the Berry house.
Aggie stood at the house watching the babies for them. Quinn had told Rachel she forgot to mention that when she left her dad's house, she took all of her mother's belongings that were hidden away in the attic with her before she left.
The reason being, she knew Fiona would get rid of them some how and possibly keep her mom's jewelry.
Quinn was not having that especially since there were some family heirloom pieces that had been passed down over several generations on both her mother's side and gifts to her mother from her fathers side.
Rachel told her that, that was very smart of her and she'd have done the same thing.
"Okay, this is the last one." Rachel said as she placed the last box on the couch in the basement.
The two smiled and Quinn took in her new home again. Her chest filled with happiness and still carried a little disbelief that she, her sister, and daughter have made it this far. She immediately walked up to Rachel and engulfed her in a hug for the thousandth time that morning.
"You know, if you keep hugging me every five minutes I'm going to expect them everyday and-"
"-And I'll gladly give them every second of everyday because I honest to god can not stop even if I wanted to."
"I wouldn't ask you to." Rachel replied with a chuckle as she squeezed the blonde's waist before lifting a surprised Quinn off the ground and spinning her, causing her to giggle before softly bringing her back to solid ground.
"Okay! I'm going to prepare brunch since we have a lot unpacking to do. I'll be right back." Rachel said before releasing the blonde then turning away and heading for the stairs.
Quinn smiled adoringly at her as she went. Feeling her heart attaching an invisible lasso to the brunette and never wanted it to ever come loose or sever.
Puck groaned as he sat up and rubbed at his eyes tiredly. He glanced around and shook his head.
All night.
He had been parked outside of Matt's house all night and still no sign of Quinn.
He checked the time and saw he had only been asleep an hour. He grunted then started his truck heading home.
He was getting more agitated as the days wore on. He had already staked out 23 of his fellow students houses and five members of Glee club specifically.
Still nothing.
Where could she be? He thought angrily.
"Uh Quinn? What is this?" Rachel asked as she pulled what looked like a miniature lab coat from a box with the letters L. Q. Fabray stitched to the breast.
Quinn's eyes bulged as she almost fell flat on her face as she stumbled across the room to get to the little white coat but Rachel was faster as she rushed around the small kitchen island with a smirk.
"Rachel... Give me that coat." Quinn spoke as if she was restraining herself from leaping over the island in embarrassed desperation for the little white coat.
"Tell me what it's for first?"
"It's nothing-"
"I'm pretty sure the the 'L' stands for Lucy and 'Q' stands for Quinn and obviously Fabray is your last name. So that must mean that this jacket that looks like it could only fit a 7 to 8 year old must have belong to a younger Quinn but what exactly did younger Quinn use it for?" Rachel scrunched her face adorably as she thought for a second before squealing as Quinn hop onto the counter to chase her.
The brunette took off like a rocket as she ran from the blonde to get to the stairs with Quinn hot on her tail.
"Give me back that coat back Berry!"
"Make me!" Rachel yelled as she laughed breathlessly.
The brunette made it to the second landing and began running through the house toward the living room but unfortunately didn't see the toys of Jaxon's baby blocks causing her to stumble giving enough time for Quinn to gain ground and ultimately but not intentionally tackle the brunette to the fall, before promptly beginning a wrestling match over the small coat began.
"Give it to me!"
"No!"
The two teens wrestled and thrashed both losing their breaths as they couldn't help but laugh as they fought over the little coat.
Then Quinn did the unthinkable and began tickling the brunette's sides causing Rachel to squeal before bellowing in loud laughter so strong that tears sprang to her eyes and poured down her beet red face. Quinn couldn't contain her own laughter with her own red face and shining eyes.
"Ladies?" Aggie interrupted looking down at the children because that's exactly how they were acting.
Rachel and Quinn freeze both looking up at Aggie simultaneously.
Quinn couldn't tell you why she felt like she had to defend herself but she immediately explained herself. "Rachel stole from my box."
Rachel's eyes whipped to the blonde. "Are you literally snitching right now?"
"Rachel?" Aggie called.
The brunette looked up at Aggie.
"Would you be so kind dear as to return Quinn's item to her, seeing as it does not belong to you."
"Yes, ma'am." Rachel replied shamefully before sitting up and handing the coat over to a smirking Quinn.
"Quinn dear, please do not look so smug it's unbecoming of you." Aggie spoke to the blonde.
"Yes, ma'am." Quinn replied shamefully.
Aggie smiled at the two. Understanding that just because they were two single mothers and very responsible didn't mean that in reality they were actually still just children who had to grow up too quickly.
She actually was very happy to see them acting somewhat like their age instead of being burdened with their responsibilities all the time.
"Good, now that, that's settled. If you two recall my lawyer is stopping in today to discuss what steps we need to take toward Quinn's emancipation. So please go get yourselves ready and be sure to dress presentable."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Yes, ma'am."
Both girls said before getting to their feet and dusting themselves off to do just that.
They began lightly shoving each other as they walked toward the stairs that led to the second floor and began giggling as they went, before Quinn said something then took off running for the stairs only for Rachel to chase after the giggling blonde.
Aggie shook her head with a smile. She loved those two girls with every fiber of her being.
Santana did her best to not roll her eyes at the woman sat in front of her. The brunette was fighting every instinct in her bone to not only insult the woman but slap the obvious smirk off her face. She was being such a bitch on purpose.
She was at Breadstix doing something she never ever in her wildest dreams believed she would ever do but here she is.
"So you've never actually worked a day in your life?" The woman asked with an air of superiority that told Santana that her question was not actually meant to be one to be answered but clearly meant to be a jab at her.
Santana's eyes looked out the glass window where her car was parked and Britney sat anxiously waiting.
She really did want to take the woman down a peg or two but she didn't. She cleared her throat and replied in an even tone. "No ma'am, I have not."
"You know you look very familiar to me. Have you eaten here before?" The woman asked.
Santana knew the woman knew exactly who she is considering she and Britney came to eat there almost everyday until recently and would use any excuse they could to not pay for their meals.
Like when they went on that terrible date with Finn and Britney said there was a mouse in her food and Santana had been bitchy to the woman. She knows the woman is just getting revenge and clearly enjoying herself.
Santana could tell she was not getting the job. The woman was clearly just having fun belittling her.
Quinn sat anxiously with Rachel on her right holding the brunette's hand in a tight grip and Aggie on her left with a hand on her back both in silent support as she listened to what the lawyer had to say.
"-Most states have different age limits for different types of legal transactions, such as the ability to enter into a contract or file a lawsuit. However, Ohio legal ages laws do not provide specific ages for a number of these. For instance, Ohio law doesn't state the ages at which a minor is eligible for emancipation or able to provide legal consent to medical treatment.
However, Ohio law does indirectly provide for the emancipation of minors in some limited situations. While there is no statutory language specifically defining emancipation, Ohio courts will consider it on a case-by-case basis. But unlike in many other states, there is no legal process by which a minor may petition the court to become emancipated.
Minors (those under the age of 18) must prove that they can assume adult responsibilities and financially support themselves, but there must be some act or omission on the part of the parents. Usually, emancipation arises out of child support cases. And if you get married prior to reaching 18, the court may be more likely to emancipate you.
Minors in Ohio generally cannot provide consent to most medical procedures and must seek the consent of a parent or legal guardian instead. But the state allows so-called "mature minors," those 15 and older who are able to show a doctor that they have enough understanding to make such decisions on their own." He explained.
"So what exactly does that mean for me?" Quinn asked.
"Well, it means we have to get you in a prime position where you can't and won't be turned down. For starters, do you have a job Ms. Fabray?"
"No-but I was already planning to start looking for one."
"Good. That's the first step. We won't do anything else until you do that first. So as soon as you get one you or Aggie may contact me and we can go from there. Sound good?"
"Yes, thank you."
"Until then I advise you to keep doing what you're doing in terms of keeping your family under wraps. I already took a look into your daughters' fathers' background as per Aggie's request, I hope you don't mind."
"No, it's fine."
"Okay so from what I can see he's a pretty bad seed. His school records show he doesn't take school seriously. He's been been arrested and spent some time in juvie and though those are all good points to have against him. He, unlike you has the support of his family. The apartment he was able to acquire is in his name. It actually shows that you aren't even on the lease."
Quinn's eyes widened in surprise, she didn't even know that. Puck told her he made sure that she and Charlie were both on it and now she feels even more like an idiot for believing him.
"Wait but I'm the one that's been paying all the bills since we moved in." Quinn replied indignantly.
"Do you have proof?"
"..No-or at least I don't think..." Quinn trailed off unsure not sure what qualifies as proof in the court of law.
"Who paid the landlord in person?"
"I did."
"Do you have any receipts?"
"Yes, I make money orders and I keep the receipts to the money orders just in case the landlord claims we haven't paid."
"Good. That's very smart of you but whose name is on the receipts?"
"Mine, why?"
"Well that's your proof right there. Now all I would have to do is have a conversation with the landlord to prove you're the one that has been dropping off the rent."
Quinn nodded her understanding beginning to fill with hope. He continued his line of questioning.
"Whose name are the utilities under?"
"Mine."
"That's good and how did you pay?"
"I used my debit card."
"So you have a bank account?"
"No, it's a refill card. You know a Green-Dot card? You can buy them at Walgreens."
"I see, well you should open a bank account as soon as possible. Make sure there is not only a checking but also a savings and start filling up your savings as fast as you can as soon as you get a job."
"Yes, sir."
"So were you working during the duration that you lived together?"
"Yes, I've been working since I was two months pregnant."
"Where?"
"The Lima bean."
"How many hours a week?"
"40."
"Are you still employed there?"
"No."
"Reason for leaving?"
"Puck kept coming to my job arguing with me about the bills, rent, food and even his car insurance that I was paying along with mine. Everything you can think of and if it wasn't for my tips I wouldn't have even had enough gave throughout the week. Anyway, my manager gave me several warnings about bringing my personal business to work until she eventually fired me for it."
"Okay, may I have your consent to follow up with your former employer on the matter?"
"Yes."
"Another thing I came across was that Mr. Puckerman runs his own busy. Now what did he pay for in the household?"
"Honestly?"
"Yes."
"His video games and throwing his parties."
"I see. Do you have proof of this?"
"No but I'm sure if you asked the kids at school who throws a party every weekend and on some weekdays, you'll find him at the center of it. I'm pretty sure Puck doesn't clean out his truck regularly so you'd probably find all the booze and video game receipts you'd need."
The lawyer nodded. "I won't lie Ms. Fabray, him having his own business and it being successful with the apartment solely in his name could potentially lean favor toward him. Add the fact of support from his family and he has a good case against you."
"His pool cleaning business is only doing good because he's not actually cleaning the pools. It's more like cleaning the pipes out of every cougar in Lima." Quinn said with a roll of her eyes and agitation in her voice.
Rachel squeezed her hand and Aggie rubbed her back in support.
"I see. Well, if you can actually prove that, that would definitely work in your favor."
"Now that's all I needed for now. please do as I suggested and get yourself a job, open a bank account and contact me as soon as you do. I'll gather as much information as I can to build a solid case. Okay?"
"Okay. Thank you so much for your time."
"No thanks necessary it's my pleasure."
They all stood up and he shook Quinn and Rachel's hands before Aggie said she'd show him out.
Quinn took a deep breath as she sat back down in thought.
"Don't worry Quinn, we'll find you a job." Rachel assured.
"Yeah.. I hope so." The blonde said in worry.
Britney stared at Santana from the window as the Latina walked toward the building. This was the brunette's sixth job interview of the week and she could tell Santana was slowly losing hope.
The brunette had, had an argument with her mother just that morning at the Lopez home.
Her girlfriend had stormed out of the house with her head held high but no matter how good Santana put on her front, her girlfriend knew her better.
Santana's mothers' words had hurt. They cut deeply.
Santana still had not shed a tear since the argument with her dad earlier that month but Britney knew it was only a matter of time before her girlfriend broke down.
No one should ever have to hear their parents say what Santana's parents had said to her.
Britney herself had, had four job interviews herself with no luck. She could tell people have their own idea of just how stupid they think she is and it hurts to see it in the eyes of so many people but what hurts more is seeing her girlfriend hurting and not being able to stop it.
Britney felt like all of this is her fault. If she hadn't gone to Santana's house that day her mom wouldn't have caught them kissing and Santana's parents wouldn't have found out.
LATER THAT EVENING SAME DAY.
Sam clenches his jaw in aggravation. He looks over at his siblings and gives them a soft smile.
"You two wait here, okay. I'll be right back."
The two kids nod their collective understanding before Sam grab's his jacket and storms out of the house toward the truck parked near his house.
Puck sits up from his slumped position and taps Finn on the shoulder to get his attention from his Nintendo DS.
Under normal circumstances Sam has pretty good self control and can speak with a level head but when it comes to his siblings well being and feelings, he's anything but patient.
"I think it's time for you to leave." Sam says as soon as he's close enough to Pucks truck.
"This street is a public block and I'm not parked on your property. So, no, I don't have to go anywhere." He sneers back.
"Look, I've already heard from Mercedes, Artie, and everyone else whose house you've parked in front of and honestly I don't care why your doing it but my brother and sister were playing outside just fine earlier until you showed up and ruined their afternoon. It's now going to be seven o' clock and you've been out here for hours and my siblings know your still out here-"
"So?" Puck scoffed out.
"So?! You're literally scaring them Puck! They're children! You've been watching the house for however long and my parents are at my dad's work party! They don't feel safe!"
"And how is that my problem?" Puck sneered.
"Puck I don't know what your problem is but I'm warning you, you need to leave. Now." Sam ground out with hard eyes.
"Dude, maybe he's right. We should leav-"
"Shut up, Finn!" Puck barked than opened his truck door and stepped out of it.
Under normal circumstances Puck wouldn't argue with Sam because they're cool with each other but his stress over Quinn and his apartment has his fuse short and temper brewing.
If he would just calm down and consider his actions he'd actually understand and feel bad but no, at this point he's too far gone. Quinn has managed to practically be none existent when not in school and it's driving him mad to the point of no return.
He stepped into Sam's face then shoved him. "What are you going to door, frog lips?"
Sam shoved him back.
"Guys chill!" Finn called from the truck than his eyes bulged when Puck punched Sam in the face only for Sam to return the blow with force Puck didn't know he had.
The two boys began having a brawl right there in the middle of the street. Finn scrambled from the truck to intervene. He reached the two and fought Puck's strong frame to get him away from Sam.
Sam went to lunge for Puck again only for Finn to cut in.
"Dude we're leaving! We're leaving!" Finn shouted louder as Puck started spewing hateful words and telling Sam that "THIS ISN'T OVER YOU LITTLE BITCH!"
Finn finally got Puck into the truck than jumped in the drivers seat and sped off the street just as Sam's parents car was coming down the street, obviously missing the altercation but seeing there son standing in the middle of the street with a busted lip and a rapidly swollen eye.
Quinn walks into Enzo's pizza with a folder on a mission. She had just started looking for employment again. It's been two days since speaking to Aggie's lawyer and after doing a bit of research of her own, she concluded exactly what she was already told.
She needed to get a job and try her best to make herself look as fully capable of being an independent mother of two as she already is in reality but on paper. The blonde walked up to the counter with a smile.
"Hello, what can I get for you?" The guy at the counter asked with a charming smile.
"Hi, my name is Quinn. I have an interview with Holly."
"Okay-um have a seat and give her a few minutes. She's in the middle of another interview." He replied with a smile.
Quinn smiled and nodded than walked over to one of the tables and took a seat. As she waited her eyes took in the restaurant than her they halted on a brunette sitting in a booth two tables from her own.
Quinn smiled sadly as she took the girl in. She looked a little down. Quinn thought for a moment on whether or not she should go and say hello. She shook her head at herself. She was being silly she missed her best friend terribly, so she stood and made her way over. She hasn't spoken to her since her break up with Finn.
"San?"
Santana's head jerked up in nervous surprise when seeing Quinn. The brunette felt a pang in her heart because she hadn't spoken to her bestfriend in a while hell she hasn't even asked about her.
"Q-Quinn, hey." Santana spoke with a lilt to her tone in a subdued manner that Quinn could not only decipher but caused an unsettling feeling to fill her belly.
"Hey, may I?" Quinn said with a smile but was surprised when Santana jumped to her feet a little too much like a spooked caged animal.
"Uh-Actually I was just heading out. I just finished eating anyway.." Santana trailed off when she noticed Quinn take a quick glance in examination at the clean unused table. Reading it for what it was, an obvious bold face lie.
"San, is everything okay?"
"Yup, never better-well I should get going I.." Santana's eyes darted every where before they settled on her friend then she was struck with a pang once more at the obvious hurt in Quinn's eyes.
"It's.." Santana swallowed thickly before stepping forward and pulling Quinn into a tight hug in public, shocking the blonde. "It's really, really good to see you Q. I've missed you." The Latina said softly before releasing the blonde than quickly grabbing her purse and rushing out the door leaving a confused Quinn behind.
Quinn watched as the brunette reached her and spotted Britney in the passenger seat before Santana peeled out of there like a bat out hell.
"Santana Lopez?!"
Quinn's head whipped around to see Holly Holliday her former substitute teacher in a Enzo's pizza shirt and her hair in a bun.
The older woman looked back and forth for a minute before shrugging her shoulders than read the next name on her list.
"Quinn Fabray."
Puck rang the door to Finn's house again impatiently. "Come on, Finn." He said under his breath in annoyance. The door finally opened revealing Finn.
"Dude what the hell? You were suppose to meet me an hour a-"
"I'm not going."
"What?"
"I'm not going." Finn said again crossing his arms.
"What do you mean your not going? Stop dicking around and get in the truck. We got Mike's house tonight."
"No."
"What the hell is your problem?!"
"I'm not going to keep doing this Puck. It may have been cool in the beginning and all but honestly I didn't sign up for this."
"What the hell are you talking about?! Sign up for what?"
"Dude, you literally attacked Sam for no reason and he's our friend!"
"Are you kidding me?! That punk deserved it! Maybe if he would have just minded his own damn business I wouldn't have-"
"No Puck there's no excuse okay?! He's in glee with us and he asked you to leave because you were scaring his siblings! How is that okay?!"
"Seriously?! We've been friends since whenever and your going to side with trouty mouth?!"
"I'm not siding with anyo-"
"Yeah you are but here's the thing, you owe me!"
"What?"
"Yeah, I told you how to nail Rachel on the side-"
"Nothing's happened between me and Rachel-"
"Doesn't matter I still helped you and you gave me your word that you'd help me! So stop crying like a wuss and get in the truck!"
Finn may not know a lot of things and he may not catch on quickly when he needs to but in the moment he could clearly see Puck had reached a breaking point and he had a gut feeling in his stomach that if he didn't do what Puck said, it'd be open season on him because had more pull with the jocks and cheerios than he does even though he's the quarterback. He sighed than trudged his way to the truck.
"That's what I thought." Puck sneered before climbing in himself then starting the truck and pulling off.
Quinn was just putting the finishing touches on her new basement apartment. She never thought she could ever feel so ridiculously happy but she's never been happy to be proven wrong.
Not only did she have her own apartment but she felt like her interview yesterday went well. She was just waiting for a call back for a second interview with the other manager and hopefully she'd have it and if not she's just going continue looking.
The only thing bothering her now is her unexpected meeting with Santana. Something was off with the brunette but Quinn couldn't figure out what?
At school she was still a cheerio and just as harsh and quick tongued as ever. She and Britney were obviously still on good terms and her reputation was doing just fine so what could possibly be wrong?
The blonde is pulled from her musing when she hears light footsteps descending the stairs. Her smile is instantaneous as Rachel appears at the foot of the steps.
"Hey." Rachel says with a smile.
"Hey yourself."
"Are you busy?"
"No, what's up?"
"Well, I wanted to talk to you about something." Rachel said as she took a seat on the blonde's couch.
Quinn's smile dropped just as quick as it came.
"It's nothing bad Quinn, I swear."
"I'm sorry, the majority of the time when someone says they want to talk with me it usually ends up badly on my end." Quinn chuckled nervously.
Rachel sighed then pat the spot next to her on the couch. "Please, come sit with me."
Quinn did as she was asked and softly sat next to the brunette but Rachel could see she was still rigid.
The brunette chuckled warmly as she leaned forward and immediately pulled the worried blonde into a hug and began rubbing her back.
"When are you going to realize I have no intention of ever hurting you Quinn Fabray?" Rachel spoke softly.
Quinn sighed deeply in release of her unwarranted tension. The brunette could literally feel the fear peeling from the blonde like a second skin.
"I'm sorry." Quinn replied softly.
"Don't be. I understand. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk." Rachel said as she gently released the blonde.
"Okay?
"So as you know Halloween is in a week and a half."
Quinn smiled as she felt even more relief wash over her. This was a holiday discussion.
"Yes?"
"I wanted to know what you do to celebrate it, if you even celebrate it at all?"
"I do. If you recall I went to Pucks Halloween party last year."
"I do, Finn couldn't stop talking about it."
Quinn furrowed her brow. "I thought you were there."
"No, I wasn't invited because Finn said that Puck was only inviting the popular kids but I found out later that week from Mercedes and Kurt that all of the glee club was invited."
Quinn winced and felt a pang of hurt for the brunette and anger with a large dose of annoyance for Finn.
"That douche bag-"
"It's fine Quinn, I'm over it."
"I know I just-" Quinn cut herself off and took a deep breath to clear her anger. "Never mind, he doesn't matter, please continue."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
"As I was saying, I just wanted to ask you if you, Charlie, and Beth would like to join Jaxon and I trick or treating this year?"
Quinn eyes shined but dimmed a little after. "Oh Rachel, We'd love to." Quinn felt bad as she saw Rachel eyes shined and her smile explode onto her face. "But we can't."
"Oh I'm sorry, did you already have other obligations or do you celebrate it in y-"
"No, No nothing like that.. It's just.. With everything going on right now I don't think it'll be safe for me to take Charlie and Beth out trick or treating when Puck is literally stalking me and-what is so funny Berry?" Quinn asked with quirked brow and a small smile aimed at the adorable brunette.
"Oh I'm so stupid." Rachel laughed. "Quinn, if Jaxon is still a secret to this day how do you think we trick or treat?"
Quinn furrowed her brow in thought. It was a legitimate question. "I don't know."
"Allow me to explain, my father's own a cabin in Pittsburg." Rachel said with a smile waiting for Quinn to get it which she clearly did not.
"In Pennsylvania Quinn."
It was the first time Rachel has ever seen Quinn have a Finn moment of understanding, slowly dawning in her features.
"You mean-"
"Yes, we do all of holiday festivities that require us to be outside actually outside of Lima."
"Wow."
"Yes, so festivities like Halloween, Easter for obvious reasons like Easter egg hunting, the fourth of July. We do those things in another state where no one would be able to catch us or get suspicious."
"That sounds amazing!" The shine in Quinn's eyes came back with severe force. "Oh my god, Rachel.. I haven't been able to take Charlie to do any of those things since my mom passed!"
It was the first time Quinn was able to speak of her mother without the burden of sadness hitting her, due to her excitement over the fact that her little sister would actually be able to enjoy a holiday for once, over shadowing it.
Not to mention she had been sad because thanks to Puck's recent behavior, her daughter's first Halloween would be ruined because she thought she would still have to hide but now the impossible seemed possible and it was all thanks to Rachel.
Rachel let out a surprised squeak when Quinn tackled her into a hug. "You have no idea how much this will mean to her... What it means to me." Quinn whimpered happily.
"Are you crying? I didn't mean to make you cry-"
"Happy tears, Rae. I promise nothing but happy tears. This is going to be Beth's first Halloween and I have to be honest I thought we were going to be spending locked in Puck's and my room because of his annual Halloween party, then I thought we'd be spending it in the school basement when I moved out but I have never been so glad to be wrong and it's all thanks to you-"
"-Us." Rachel interjected as she pulled back from the hug just enough to make eye contact with the blonde. "It's thanks to us because we're going to make this the best Halloween ever!"
Quinn's face broke out into a smile before her eyes widened and excitement took over. "You know what this means, don't you?!"
Rachel giggled. "No what?"
"Rachel, hello?! Halloween costume shopping!" Quinn squealed in delight. "Hang on, let me get my laptop! I'm so excited!"
The blonde leaped from the couch to run to her room with a doe eyed, soft gazing, and full-blown smiling, entranced Rachel Berry following her with her eyes the entire way.
Rachel felt her heart latching more tighter to the blonde and she never wanted to let go.
