In Zazu's funeral, everyone was all sad to know that Zazu has died, and some animals were crying and comforting one another about how honorable he was and how much of a good friend he was. The royal family was especially sad and a little distraught about all that had just happened with poor Zazu, and all the good memories they had with the now-deceased hornbill. As sad as it was, the least they can do is recall everything they did with the old banana beak. Kion was having a talk with Rani and the rest of his friends about how they will all miss Zazu at the same time, and Kion seemed the one most upset about it since Zazu did work for his parents. Still, they all knew that they couldn't bring him back from the dead, and the old bird was in peace now.
Chris and his family walked up to Kion and the others. "Kion," said Chris. "we're very sorry about Zazu."
Kion smiled gratefully at what a good friend Chris was for giving his condolences to him. "Thank you, Chris. But it wasn't your fault. It was bound to happen some time." he slightly looked down. "The least we can do is cherish at what a good life he had... minus being forced to serve Scar during his reign as a tyrant. But other than that; he had a good life. And at least he died peacefully."
Rani was the next one to speak and she said: "Let's all be glad that we knew him and that he had a good life. Isn't that what counts? Him being happy with his life before dying?"
"Yeah, at least he wasn't mauled by a vulture or a leopard." the honey badger blurted
"Bunga!" his friends scolded in unison.
"What?"
"That's not helping." Fuli noted.
"totally not helping." Rani added.
"Sorry."
"Look, Simba said that he will find a replacement for Zazu as the new majordomo." said Persephone.
"And he said not to worry about that, right?" asked Tara
"He did." Kion noted. "I'm sure they'll find someone to be the new majordomo."
"I don't know if he will be better or almost as good as Zazu on the job." said Beshte.
"Like Simba said," Ono noted, "We don't have to worry about it."
"All we can do is just move on with our lives." Kifaru remarked. "We know that crying won't bring Zazu back. So there's no use crying anymore." He pawed the ground with his right stubby, three-toed hoof a couple of times. Still a calf, but Kifaru still had massive feet under his legs.
"You're right." said Chris. "Crying won't bring him back."
"It's like Kifaru said." Fuli noted. "We just try to move on with our lives and stop living in the past."
"And Kion, I was wondering, who are those guys?" Chris pointed his left finger to what appeared to be Adewale and his Emela-Ntouka family just talking with each other, and other animals around the area and after the funeral.
"Oh, that's Adewale." Kion said.
"He and his family are Emela-Ntouka." Bunga noted.
"Emela what?" Chris asked
"Emela-Ntouka." Fuli repeated.
"You want to meet them?" said Kion. "They're friendly."
The humans looked a little uneasy seeing this kind of beast. Obviously, they have never seen Emela-Ntouka before in their lives, by the looks on their faces.
"I know we kinda thought they were... outlandish too." said Rani.
"But they are friendly as Kion says they are." Kifaru noted.
"And you might like them."
"No surprise they have never seen a human before, right?" asked Joel.
"Nothing we're aware of." Bunga admitted.
"Ok." said Tara. The human family walked up to the intriguing Emela-Ntouka herd and Chris was a little nervous to meet them in person. He had never seen these kind of animals before, or believed they would even exist.
Those horns on their noses looked massive, and for Chris, it was like meeting a bunch of dinosaurs still alive and not extinct.
"Oh. hello." said Adewale in a humble voice to the human family. "I believe you are the nomads that are visiting these lands."
"How did you know?" asked Persephone
"The birds." said Adewale, Drani, and Limari in unison.
"Right. The birds." Tara nodded. "Wouldn't surprise me."
"Um, i'm Chris." the human boy walked from behind his father. "Kion told me a little bit about you guys. Emela... what's the name?"
"Chris," Joel gently scolded.
"No, it's alright, sir." Adewale noted. "We are Emela-Ntouka. Now do not be afraid if we tell you what the name means."
"Elephant killer." said Drani.
"Elephant killer?" asked Persephone.
"That's... quite a name." Joel admitted.
"I know, i know." Limari said. "The name sounds evil, but we are very peaceful."
"We only use our horns when necessary. Like self-defense." Adewale pointed. "You see, we are a rather rare species of mammal."
"I've never seen you guys before." Chris admitted. "You all seem cool. You're like a combination of rhinos and crocodiles."
"Cody." Joel scolded again
"No, it is perfectly fine." Adewale chuckled.
"That's actually a good way to describe us." Drani said
The human family got to be better acquainted with these animals some more and it wouldn't take long for these creatures to become friends and mingle with one another.
Kion and company smiled knowing that bonds had formed between the two groups.
One day had passed since Zazu's thoughtful funeral. Birds were chirping across the Pride Lands in the scattered trees and the bushes.
Many animals were eating around the water holes for a drink and whenever there was water, there was definitely life.
Without water, there would be no life at all, and it would be rather barren, like a desert of some kind. But there were rivers and lakes in the Pride Lands, and savannas can get plenty of rain, according to the season
Kion was talking with Kifaru the rhino calf, who was hanging out with his lion friend. "Those humans are really interesting, Kion." said Kifaru. "They're really cool."
"I agree, Kifaru. And they're really nice."
Suddenly, the sound of what sounded like a hoarse cry was heard in the sky, and there was a silhouette under the sun, and it looked like a crane or a stork flying in the blue sky. It looked majestic and graceful S it was slowly flapping its wings, and it landed on the ground on the egde of Pride Rock.
Landing on the ground, it appeared to be a secretary bird. It was a bird that was like a mix between an eagle and a stork of some kind. The legs were the most distinguishing features of this magnicifent bird and they were meant for stomping on prey if it's sharp beak or talons weren't strong enough to... finish the job.
"Ah, Kion. We finally meet at last." said the raptor in a male voice. "I've wanted to meet you for a long time now."
"You did?"
"Oh yeah. Very long. Allow to introduce myself." he bowed himself. "I am Refu. I will be the new majordomo for your parents."
