this really looked like a bad time for a mean vulture like Mzingo to crash this party. On one hand: it would be more exciting to see a fight happen in this little tour of the rainforest. On the other hand: it might get really ugly.
Kion and Rani readied themselves against this vulture for a fight.
Mzingo folded his wings and swooped down on Kion and Rani like a missile launched from a fighter jet. "I have no idea who these filthy creatures are," said Mzingo, "but I guess I can have the smallest one as my dinner."
"You can't eat me!" said Chris.
"Oh? There's only one way to find out, boy." the vulture sneered at the human child. He was about to charge at him while flapping his wings.
Joel, being the loving father he was, cocked his rifle and was ready to gun down this evil bird. Before he could pull the trigger, something large, big, and black shoved Mzingo like a runaway pickup truck.
This animal was not as big as the Emela-Ntouka of course, no he was only a few inches taller than Chris. He was almost even as big as a full-grown lion.
To the human's surprise, it was a large, black wild pig. He looked similar to a warthog, but with smaller tusks and longer ears, along with large cheek bones on his porcine face.
not only that, but he seemed more furry than a warthog would be like, and larger than a warthog, both in height and weight. He did have tusks like a warthog, but they were rather smaller. Perhaps he can make it up with his sheer body weight when running over a predator. "Leave the kid alone!" said the pig-like mammal.
It was a giant forest hog, the largest kind of wild pig in the world. He was looking fierce and angry at the vulture.
"Amadou?" Kion recognized.
"Hey Kion." said the pig. "I'll be with you in a minute." he turned his attention back to the vulture and snarled before both he ajd Mzingo charged at one another, colliding like two cars crashing.
Thanks to his weight, the forest hog managed to easily overpower Mzingo, and render the evil vulture dizzy. When he regained his composure, Mzingo was more mad than ever now. "You stupid overgrown warthog!" he said. "I will peel the skin out of your bones and make bacon out of it!"
"'m a giant forest hog, stupid." said he in an annoyed tone of voice. "Get your facts right! Secondly, it's gonna take a lot more than your beak to peel my flesh off."
Mzingo charged and tried to peck the hog's eyes out with his sharp beak, but this hog swayed his head to the right on the vulture, hard. His tusks packed a punch and the vulture was chucked in the air, with two tuks marks on his belly.
Before the vulture could fall to the ground however, the giant forest hog caught the birds' right leg with his omnivorous teeth, and Mzingo tried to break free, but it was no use, this pig was much more powerful than the vultures' scrawny stature. Now the boar paused and flung the vulture into a tree, making Mzingo dizzy again.
"Ooh like, stars." the vulture said before getting up three seconds later. Ultimately, he decided he couldn't win this. This boar was not going to let Mzingo eat Kion as his meal, and the vulture said: "I'll get you next time, Kion!" before flying off.
The forest hog snorted and made a huff in victory. "And don't come back!" he called out. He smiled and looked at the cub. "You guys ok?"
"Yeah, we're fine." said Kion. "Thanks to you."
"Good."
"I guess our help wasn't necessarily for that one." said Adewale.
"Yeah, you handled that vulture good." said Rani
"My tusks might not be a warthogs' pair of tusks, but they're still strong." said Amadou. he looked at the humans and said: "I've heard about you guys. My name's Amadou. A friend of Kion's."
"Chris." the boy introduced himself back.
"I'm Tara."
"My Name is Persephone."
"And I am Joel."
"You look like a warthog but you're a different species." Chris pointed.
"That i am." said Amadou. "I'm a Giant forest hog. I'm bigger than any warthog, and we're more social than them." he could help but sniff something on Chris and began sniffing all over the boys' body with his snout. "Hmm, you smell... peculiar... Like... chocolate!" Amadou realized, sniffing him more and more. It made the boy a little uncomfortable, but Amadou hasn't seen humans before either, so he had to bring and bear it, and humor the forest hog. "I smell chocolate."
The kid pulled a KitKat bar from him pocketz even though it was wrapped. "You mean this?"
"Yeah, that's the one." Amadou pointed. "Is it... inside the paper?"
"Yeah." Cody said.
"What is this Chocolate?" asked Rani
"It's a kind of candy that comes from cocoa beans and cocoa trees." said Joel. "For us humans, it's yummy. But, for other animals, it's probably a poison for them."
"Poison?" asked Kion
"Yeah, it poisons other animals for some reason who are not humans." Persephone added.
"Besides, you probably wouldn't like this. I mean, you and Rani are carnivores, Kion." Tara pointed.
"True." Kion noted. "It sounds like the grubs Timon and Pumbaa like to eat."
"Right?" Rani agreed.
"Yeah, I'm not lazy like Pumbaa is. I am always careful and I don't... pass gas like he does."
"Ugh, he has a farting problem all right." Kion sounded disgusted.
"Did you hear from us from the birds?" asked Chris.
"Oh yes." said Amadou. "When it comes to the birds, word gets around fast."
"I bet Pumbaa can win in a fight against you." said Bunga.
"Bunga!" Kion scolded.
"No, it's fine, Kion." said Amadou. "I'm not that much if a fighter anyway. Only when I need to be one, like if a leopard or a hyena tries to eat me... or if they try to eat some carrion I find out here in the rainforest."
"Oh."
"Nevermind Bunga." said Kifaru.
"Yeah, he can be an idiot sometimes." Fuli rolled her eyes.
"So how do you and Kion know each other?"
"We've been friends for six months." the forest hog remarked. "I've fought with Kion against Inuwa and many brainwashed animals to free the whole Pride Lands."
"Kion told us about that." said Persephone. "I'm glad we weren't there when it happened."
"Us too." said Kion
"It was really ugly." said Beshte.
"Yeah, it was quite scary." Ono said.
"I believe you." said Chris.
"So where do you humans come from?" the forest hog couldn't help but ask the family.
"It's really complicated." Tara admitted. "You wouldn't understand how we live in our homeland."
"You guys would probably be confused." said Joel.
"Ok. I was just curious." said Amadou. "so how long have you been out here?"
"A couple of days. Almost a week." Joel answered. "We go back to our home in a couple more days."
"Yeah, but we can always visit here again."
"Right." said Persephone.
"Exactly. All we have to do is plan the next trip here." Joel cocked his rifle again.
"Nice. So I'm curious about that stick of yours." Amadou pointed at the gun. "What is it?"
"This is my rifle. It's a kind of gun I use in self-defense, or look for food out here." The patriarch replied. "We humans aren't very strong when it comes to using our arms and legs."
"We're like chimpanzees." said Chris. "Use tools to help us survive." The more the humans talked to Amadou about how their kind lived in their society, the most interested the forest hog was becoming on them. Yes, it was like he was becoming infatuated with humans. He took a sip of water from the pong with the waterfall, feeling thirsty and then replenished after drinking a few gallons of that pong water.
"Well, what made you guys come all the way out here?" asked Amadou
"We kinda... needed a vacation from the noise going on in our home." said Tara. "We love our home, and our friends and family members, but sometimes, we just have to get away from it all every once in a while."
"Understandable" said Adewale.
"Yeah, I kinda know how that feels." said Fuli. "I lolve my family, but they can drive me crazy." she then looked at her closest associates and added: "That's what my best friends are for." then she smiled.
"Yeah, being alone can be relieving sometimes." said Amadou. "I do have a herd, but there's nothing wrong with being alone very once in a while to have some alone time."
"Since your here, Amadou," said Adewale, "Care to help us out with the little tour for the humans."
"That sounds fun." said Amadou. "So why not?"
