"Draco, is that you?" I hear Alpha Cloudjumper ask me.

I kneel down on my one free leg, "Yes your majesty. I have returned."

He looks down at me, examining me, "I assume that your trip went well?"

I stand up, "It did, your majesty."

"Draco," he says to me with seriousness, "you know you don't have to be so formal with me. We are all family here."

"Yes, sorry your ma... I mean Cloudjumper." I scratch the back of my neck with my tail. Well, there goes everything my parents taught me.

"So what did you come here to talk about? Anything in particular?" He asked me.

"Well, I came to talk to you about something extremely important." I tell him.

He tilts his head in curiosity, "Important? What level of importance?"

I lean in a little closer so that only he could hear me, "The 'this will change my life' important."

He gives me a smile, "Oh that sounds exciting. Does it have anything to do with what's in your paw?"

I take a nervous breath, "Yes "

He gives a chuckle, "I knew it. So go on. Don't be shy. Show me what you have."

I look at him pleadingly, "I want you to promise that when you see what I have, that you won't get angry and exile me."

He looks at me with a straight face, and out of nowhere, bursts out laughing, "Draco, you crack me up! I assure you there will be no getting angry or exiling from me. You have my word."

I took in his words and gave a sigh of relief. Thank goodness . This may turn out better than I thought it would.

I reluctantly show Hiccup to Cloudjumper.

The smile on Cloudjumper's face faded, and he didn't move a muscle. Oh no. Is he angry? He said he wouldn't get angry! Oh please don't be mad.

"Draco," he said quietly, "Is that a human hatchling?"

I cringe at his calmness, "Y-yes."

"And why do you have him?" He asks me.

"Well," I start to tell him, "His... sire was trying to... kill him."

He looks closer at the little boy in my paw, who was trembling against one of my claws, examining every part of him.

He stops very abruptly and quickly, and he starts sniffing him.

When he reaches his face, he pulls away.

"Wait a moment," he says to himself, "No, it can't be him."

He looks closely at his chin, and pulls away.

Startles.

"H-Hiccup? Is that you, little one?"

I look at him shocked. He know his name? How does he know his name?

Hiccup looked up at Cloudjumper and stopped trembling, "Yes, h-how do you know my name?"

I am wondering the same thing, Hiccup.

Cloudjumper scooped Hiccup out of my paw with one of his wings, inciting a surprised shriek from me, and a loud cry from Hiccup. But I trusted Cloudjumper with my life.

"There is absolutely no reason to fear, little Hiccup," he lightly whispered to him and gave him a nuzzle, "I would never hurt you if my life depended on it."

I watched how Cloudjumper handled Hiccup carefully and slowly, as if he's done it before, and I am left in awe.

"Hiccup, I know your name, and I know much more about you too," he looks between me and Hiccup, who was currently laying in one of Cloudjumper's wings, "I think it's time for me to tell a story, from four years ago, before I was the almighty alpha to this great land."

FLASHBACK(Four Years Earlier, third person POV)

Berk

"Prepare the ballistas! Man every catapult!"

Stoick was running through the village, praying that he would get to his wife and child in time.

He shoved every person out of the way in order to get to his family.

It had been a normal Saturday that day, until on that night, there was a dragon raid.

There had been dragon raids before that day, but none of them had reached this magnitude.

Stoick reached his house and immediately burst through the door, "Valka, love, you have to get out of here! Take Hiccup with you! Go as far away from here as possible!"

Valka looked up from her spot on the chair, where she was feeding Hiccup, " Stoick, what the hell is going on?"

"Dragons," Stoick said with urgency, "Hundreds, maybe thousands, coming towards the village! We need to get all of the children out of here!"

Valka quickly stood up, holding her son in her arms, and quickly grabbed a sword and scabbard and put them on her back, and quickly ran out of the building.

Stick quickly followed, "Go there, into the mountains! Hide, don't make a sound, and Valka," He puts his hand under her chin, "If things go wrong, I just want you to know that I love you so much."

They had a quick kiss, and Stick ran off towards the village to assist the rest of the vikings.

Valka quickly ran towards the mountains, Hiccup in tow, and frustrated.

She hated that dragons and vikings had to fight. She hated that she could talk to dragons, because life for her would be a lot easier if she couldn't.

She continued running into the mountains when she reached a very large cave.

She quickly ran inside, but then stopped in her tracks.

She had to stop all this. All this death, all this bloodshed, had to end. Now.

She made a last second decision, and nodded to herself.

She gently set Hiccup down in a crevice in the stone walls, and smiled at him with tears in her eyes.

She was afraid the she would never be able to see him ever again.

She put her hand down towards her son, and he grabbed one of her fingers with a tiny hand, "Oh Hiccup," She whispers to him, and she places her forehead on his, "I love you so much."

She stays with her head on his for a few seconds before slowly pulling herself away. She looks at Hiccup one last time, before running towards the village.

She could hear Hiccup cry after she left, and it took all of her strength to not go back to him. She had to be strong. She would not let Hiccup grow up like this.

Unbeknownst to her, a large, four winged dragon watched from above.

She ran fast, almost in the village, sword on her back, ready to be pulled need be, when she heard something over head.

Wings flapping.

She looked up and saw an enormous dragon, with four huge wings, flying, but it wasn't flying towards the village.

It was flying towards the mountains.

"Hiccup!"

She panicked and changed her direction towards where she was coming from, where the dragon was going, and where her son was.

Cloudjumper flew towards where the human had ran, hoping to find food to help feed the dragons that populated the hidden world.

He flew towards the massive cave that stood in the mountains.

He landed on the ground with a loud thud, and walked into the cave on his two legs.

He heard something when he entered.

It was a small noise, and he looked around trying to find the source of the noise.

And he found it.

In a small crevice in the stone walls, was a tiny human. A human hatchling.

He gently leaned his head down closer to have a better look, and what happened next shocked him.

As soon as the baby locked eyes with him, the noise, which he found to be crying, stopped.

The baby looked at him with curiosity in his eyes and he reached his tiny limbs up towards him.

Cloudjumper tilted his head and gave a low warble, which made the small baby laugh.

He tilted his head again, "What a cute, and tiny creature."

The baby continued looking at him, before it did something that shocked him even more.

"H-Hiccup." The baby said in Dragonese, "Hiccup." He said again and laughed.

Cloudjumper stepped back in surprise, "Did- did he just... Speak in our language?"

The baby laughed and clapped his little hands together in excitement, not a care in the world about the enormous size of the dragon.

It was at that moment that Cloudjumper knew that this boy was special.

He gently lowered the tip of his wing for him to touch, "So your name is Hiccup, little one?"

Hiccup let out baby noises and touched the wing.

Cloudjumper chuckled, "I don't know why, but it fits you."

Suddenly, there was a voice from behind him.

"Wait!"

When Cloudjumper turned around, he expected to find another dragon.

Instead he saw another human, who could also speak the language of the dragons.

Valka.

He was confused as to how humans, much less a human baby, could speak Dragonese. They were special. Very special.

"Oh, my apologies," Cloudjumper tried around, but still let Hiccup touch his wing, "Is this your child?"

Valka looked at the adorable site. She knew it.

Everything the vikings thought about the dragons was wrong.

She looked up at the enormous dragon, "Yes," Valka said to the dragon, "He is my son. He is very special."

Cloudjumper let out a chuckle, "I can tell, and I can also tell that you are too. No human should be able to speak Dragonese, and yet here you are, speaking Dragonese, and your child can do it too."

Valka was surprised, "Wait... He can?"

He gave a nod, "Well, he only spoke his name, which is Hiccup correct?"

She nods.

"Well, first off, how did you learn Dragonese, and how did you teach your child how to speak it?"

Valka stood in thought, "I... didn't teach him. And I don't know how I learned how to speak it. I've been able to speak it since I was a small child."

Cloudjumper nodded, and leaned his head down to smell the woman.

He smelled innocence, purity, and the soul of a dragon.

He smelled Hiccup too, and he found that they both smelled of exactly the same attributes.

"The prophecy is true."

Valka looked confused, "Prophecy? Excuse for my curiosity, but what prophecy?"

Cloudjumper smiled, "It is a long story, but I will tell it later, when we are back to the hidden world."

"The hidden world, what is that?" Valka asked him back.

"It is our home, and it has been the home to thousands of dragons for generations, and you will see it. Please. Come with me. You and your child have souls of dragons."

Valka was extremely shocked, "What does that mean..." She couldn't ask fully before an axe flew past her and embedded into the rock next to Cloudjumper.

He looked back and roared, but I'm the process, accidentally scraped Hiccup with his wing.

"Oh no! I'm sorry, little one! Please don't cry!"

He looked back at Stoick, and immediately growled.

He could smell evil, rage, and pain inside him. The smells were faint, but they would certainly rise in the future.

He began walking towards Stoick, before he stopped himself. Be would not kill anyone today.

Stoick ran under Cloudjumper and ran to Hiccup, guarding him, "Valka, get out of here!"

"Damn it! I can't grab Hiccup if he's in my way" Cloud jumper thought to himself.

He looked behind him and saw more vikings coming towards him.

He looked around in anger and defeat, before he made a last second decision.

"I'm sorry, little Hiccup."

He quickly and gently grabbed Valka in his claws and flew out of the cave, rage building up that he couldn't take the little one.

"Valka no!"

Stoick quickly grabbed Hiccup and ran out of the cave.

It was too late.

The dragon was already gone

"Valka..." He said softly to himself and looked down. Hiccup looked towards the sky and began to cry, due to his mother and new dragon friend being gone.

Little did Hiccup or his father himself know, that Stoick would become more of a monster than any dragon was.
